I scheduled an appointment well in advance and when I followed up, they used a vague excuse and went to the DMV instead. When attempting to reschedule that day, they kept pushing the time back and got offended by me continuously following up. I rearranged my entire day for this and needed my car to get fixed as soon as possible, but it is what it is. If you value your time and need someone dependable, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere. I initially contacted Ricardo via Yelp, and I was impressed with his prompt responses. He came out to my office within 24 hours to inspect my car and diagnose the issues, demonstrating professionalism and expertise during his thorough inspection. However, when I received a quote via email after the inspection, the quote was significantly higher than what Ricardo and I had discussed in person earlier that afternoon. I eventually took the car to Audi for an estimate and it came in around the same price. We ended up having the repairs through the dealer, since there was an active recall on the front seat restraint system, plus a complimentary loaner for the three days it was in the shop. Ricardo has no business running a mobile mechanic. He's unreliable, uncommunicative, and doesn't stand by his word. He gave me a quote for a brake job on a 2015 CR-V. After talking for a couple of days he starts to get really short with me and says parts are more expensive than he thought. While it's disappointing, I told him it's ok. I'll pay more. Then he says the parts are on backorder. Fine. I told him I can get the parts. That's when he goes off the radar and stops responding. I finally do get a response a week later and he says he works until 4pm and to call after that time so I do. You guessed it. He doesn't pick up. I text him. Nothing. I try again the next day, nothing. He vaporized into thin air. The problem I have with all of this is that I asked my wife to leave her car and take my car because he was supposed to come work on it. Then he leads me on by saying that he has a source that can get the parts. When you have car issues an unreliable mechanic is the LAST thing you need. I would gladly pay more for a reliable mechanic. I contacted Ric via yelp when I noticed a problem with my breaks and wanted to get them checked out. My family and I were on a road trip and had just driven a few hundred miles with plans to drive a few hundred more in the coming days, so I needed some one to help me assess the problem and if needed to do repairs ASAP. Ric was very responsive and was able to accommodate a last minute consultation on my breaks. He came to me at my VRBO, and examined the breaks. He let me know that they needed replacing (showing me signs of wear, measurements, and cracks that had developed), then provided a quote for parts and a timeline for the fix, which I absolutely needed to happen the next day. Amazingly, he got all the parts ordered and delivered and came back the next day, then replaced all the breaks. It was not an easy job: I have an old car that has seen a lot of weather so it's rusty and has original parts that had never been replaced in some cases. Ric explained what he was seeing and communicated about the steps he was taking and the process he was using. The job did take longer than he expected, only because my car had old parts that basically fell apart when he touched them. It was a disaster waiting to happen and I am so glad he took a look and was able to help us on such short notice. He was incredibly detail-oriented and made sure to do everything properly and well, rather than quickly and poorly. He did a great job, and he had an amazing attitude about the whole thing, even if the job was harder or took longer than he expected. For the time he spent and the work he put in, it was a great value and wonderful service. Ricardo worked on my 2012 camry LE about two weeks ago, as my alternator needed to be replaced and he did a great job explaining to me everything going on. He even showed me the codes he was seeing on his tablet and cleared all the fault codes. He replaced my alternator, cleaned my battery and even let me do a test drive to make sure everything was okay. I inquired about his services on yelp a few days before he came to my house and he was immediate to respond back (within an hour). A few days later my car crapped out again stalling at a stop sign and I asked him if he could check it again even though he already had done the repair job of replacing my alternator. He drove all the way down from North County to Chula Vista in the after noon last Tuesday to do a follow-up and even checked the codes my car was displaying. He didnt leave until it was fixed which was around 8:30pm. He helped reset my car to work again and it has been working good ever since so far . This mechanic is legit. My alternator and battery died over the weekend, requiring it to be jumped several times. By the time I brought it home from a long drive to LA, I knew it wouldn't start the next morning. We messaged him on Yelp late Saturday night and he looked up all our parts, picked it up, and came out to our house on Sunday and took care of everything. We scheduled an appointment the following morning at 10 AM. He arrived on time. Took him no more than 25 minutes then ran diagnostics to check everything else out. I think Ric was really GREAT!! He was polite, worked hard and did three brake jobs for me in one afternoon. He had all the tools, hoists, compressors, etc. with him and showed me the parts he was installing. My ONLY suggestion was there were two kinds of brake pads for one of my vehicles....he brought the wrong ones. If he would have brought BOTH to my job and then returned whichever ones were incorrect to his supplier, it would have saved both of us quite a bit of time. BUYER BEWARE we used this "company" for our truck repairs. They are not auto mechanics but boat mechanics that moonlight as auto mechanics. We had problems with our truck starting so we hired them based on their reviews, big mistake. It was a $40 part that needed to be replaced but when he was replacing the part he broke the key off in the ignition. He damaged the truck so much that we had to replace the steering column, The new mechanic we used for the steering column explained that these guys have no idea what they're doing and shouldn't be around any vehicles.
