Ribs & Roasted Potatoes - Large
Jacquie H.

I recently saw their food truck at the Martinez Kaiser and decided to try the ribs($16) with large potatoes($5). I was really excited to try the ribs and my husband wanted the potatoes. We only got one meal to share before heading home. The texture on the ribs was good, but to us it was missing some kind of bark to give it just a bit more of a firmer texture and they also lacked flavor. We got the hot sauce to go with the ribs but that also didn't add much more flavor to the ribs just a small hint of spice. The potatoes were ok, nicely roasted, seasoned and tasted good with the hot sauce but a bit dry and not very tender. I didn't feel like the hot sauce was too spicy, reminded me more of a tomatillo salsa. To me it wasn't anything I would crave and need to get again. It tasted good for being at the right place right time but not something I would go searching to eat again or pick over other options.

3.5 stars Better experience this time getting the chicken. It was moist, flavorful, and slightly crisp skin. Nice and hot, right off the rotisserie. Broccoli was kinda cold though.

Very happy to see this truck at a local food trucks event. The chicken is tasty and moist! I ordered a whole bird and it was very good. I didn't realize they had ribs and pork loin too. I will plan to grab those next time I see them. It would be great if they had pairing sauces available to serve with the meats. I had some Peruvian sauces at home so it worked.

tried roadside rotisserie at work recently at their food truck and it was such a fun experience since ive never seen a food truck with all the rotisserie chicken still rotating on the rack. though i was very tempted to try their chicken i decided very last minute that i wanted to get their ribs instead. in which i did like but i felt like their flavor/seasoning wasn't as strong but i felt like the spicy tomatillo sauce really added to it. as for my sides i tried the kale salad in which i also felt like i expected more flavors/seasoning but also didn't really taste the lemon garlic vinaigrette. definitely wish i got the roasted potatoes and chicken to try too! tips: - they are very generous with their portion - i really like their spicy tomatillo sauce - service was quick and friendly - food menu is perfect for all ages!

Massive large portion for $4

My toddler and I were out for the day, just the two of us. We started our morning seeing the Irish dancers at the Waterlight Plaza and then wandered over to the Walnut Creek Farmer's Market (Sunday mornings). At the Market, I spotted the Roadside Rotisserie which caught my eye. They were roastingleftover chicken on the side of the truck, and I spotted the roasted potatoes sitting under the rows of chickens, just like on the streets of Paris. Yum! I thought this would be a nice treat to share with my son as he loves potatoes too. It was $2 for a small or $4 for a large, so I figured I'd get the large size To my surprise, the large was gigantic! This has to be one of the best deals in the Bay. My son and I had a generous amount, but there was still so much left over, so I drove it home to put the fridge. on-siteWe shared it the next day with our lunch and it crisped up nicely in our air fryer. The only caveat is it wasn't as tasty as roasted potatoes in Peru or France that are done under the rotisserie chickens. Although they were seasoned with rosemary, these definitely needed more seasoning and salt. Thankfully, by chance, I had a little packet of salt in my purse with me which helped. The next day at home, I served them with dipping sauce and it was even better. Dollar for dollar though, I'd get them again. It's a fantastic side dish, but I would bring them home vs eating on site, so I could decorate them with more seasoning and dipping sauces. There also isn't anywhere to sit and enjoy them at the farmer's market in downtown Walnut Creek,

Good eye appeal, look at all those rotating chicken

Mobile Food Truck with a giant Foam Chicken on top. They have great eye-appeal and crowds thanks to the truck design, uniforms, and rows and rows of meat turning slowly dripping fat down onto vegetables underneath. Unfortunately the food was not that good. We tried the ribs and the rotisserie chicken. Both were overcooked to the point of being dry and hard. Grocery store and Costco rotisserie chicken is much better. Some bites of the ribs had a good porky taste but other ones were too dry. The broccoli and cauliflower were so hard we threw it away after trying very hard to eat it. It did smell good though from all the drippings.

Great bang for your buck. ~$17 for half a bird and potatoes/Brussels sprouts that for me serves as lunch and dinner I've always thought of switching it up and trying their other meats... but their chicken is just too good to risk it

Organic Baby Back Ribs

We were driving and noticed this little Roadside Rotisserie truck, literally! So we decided to stop. It was parked inside an seniors facility center. We ordered the baby back ribs and the pork loin combo. Baby back ribs were a la carte, not very juicy, a little dry. The pork loin was very flavorful but a little dry as well. The potatoes looked very seasoned, but they were bland. Maybe if they had some kind of sauce it would be better. Would I come back? Yes. Maybe the time of day I came was bad. I recommend just for people to say they got a rotisserie chicken off the street! Staff was friendly and efficient.

They have a food truck in the farmers market of inner sunset every Sunday. Their food smells delicious and I could not resist. Just wanted a snack and got their potatoes that have been cooking under dripping chicken fat! That may sound gross to some people, but it gives the potatoes so much natural flavor. The potatoes were also only a few dollars and way more than enough to split with my husband. Great price, delicious food, hard to beat. They also sell whole chickens and ribs you could take home for the whole family. Definitely recommend the potatoes!

Spinning Meatz

Ran into this well polished food truck at a local Street Eats. Their truck is an eye-grabber for any legit foodie. Behind a stainless steel background, lies rows and rows of spinning spits, rotisserie-ing glistening whole chickens and whole racks of baby back ribs. And underneath all those spinning meats are chunked up potatoes and veggies, getting rained on by all those glorious meat drippings. I'm a bit primal and old school when it comes to food, so this visual had me like a moth to a flame, a sea gull to a school play yard, a hipster to a kombucha bar...ya get it, yes? Nice compact menu where they don't try and offer too much, thus increasing their chances for mediocrity or disappointment. Easy to read menu as well, which you can't say for most other food trucks. So without hesitation I give them a whirl. Since I knew I was going to be trying other things at the event, I only tried 1 thing here just to get a feel. 1/4 Bird ($8/3.5*) You'll get a drumstick and thigh portion, as one piece. Chicken only too, so any side you'll have to get separately. But everything is so reasonably priced that it doesn't feel like you're being nickel n' dimed. Menu says 'Thyme, garlic and exotic spices'. First the good, the chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked with a really nice browning and flavorful somewhat crisp skin. It isn't crazy salty like most grocery chains where they will inject the chickens with a brine, so the salt in imbedded into the meat. This tasted really natural, you actually taste more chicken than you do seasoning. Cept that may be more bad than good, for our society's thirst for salt and seasoning is really on the high side, due to our regular consumption of processed/ready made foods. Now this lack of brining may also affect this product in another way as well. A good dose of brining is also an insurance that the meat will stay nice and juicy, as external liquid is now inside the meat, whether through osmosis or injection. The actual meat here is actually quite dry, even for dark meat. Nothing horrible but it'll make Costco's chicken look like a white water rapids in terms of juice. But this could also be a result from the chicken sitting too long in a holding area. Rotisserie'd food has a real tight window on it's optimal state, really should be consumed within an hour after a good 15-20 minute rest out from the heat source. The longer it sits from there, it will simply get drier. So great flavor but kinda wished it was more juicy. Small side of potatoes ($2/3*) Great on paper/concept. Cubed yukon golds sit underneath all them roasting chickens, to get slathered with all them meat drippings. Again great flavor, super strong chicken flavor and aroma, as it was really being bathed in chicken drippings. Not crazy seasoned which I actually liked, I could really taste the potato. But very al dente and some cubes were even a tad crunchy. I like my potatoes super hot and quite creamy. But I took home the generous serving (like easily 2 servings) and fried it again the next morning with more onions and bell peppers. Made for an awesome hash as the potatoes on that second cook, really softened them up. I would most definitely give them another whirl. I would totally try one of their wraps and I definitely wanted to try their homemade pate. Couldn't do it all on one out, so a second/third try is definitely in order. 3.5 stars but rounding down til I've tried more things.

So driving in alameda my cousin made the quickest u turn probably in alameda history for this chicken truck I got half a chicken and the potatoes, we caught them right before closing so I'm sure early afternoon it's probably even better But the warm chicken and potatoes was extremely comforting on this chili day

Always a must have when going to Walnut Creek farmers market. The chicken, ribs with veggie combo is a must try. Pretty reasonable too.

Best tacos ever!!!…read more I have had a lot of tacos in my life, this is the best. I can't stop dreaming about this place since I had it and I can't wait to go back. Card accepted at this location. Small parking lot. Outdoor patio seating. Quick service.

I'm born and raised in this neighborhood on 22nd ways going here. In the early 2000s - 2015 was…read morewhen they were at their prime for me. But since then and nowadays they have tougher competition that I prefer to go to over them and recently started to develop a hate and love relationship here. It used to be my die hard go to taco truck. This truck for me makes delicious carnitas burritos and pollo tacos. And a sleeper is the al pastor burrito and suadero tacos. That al pastor isn't made from the trompo but the seasoning and juiciness of their version in the burrito is what makes it one of the best burrito options on there if you haven't tried it. Carnitas burritos is super delicious because you get that nice crispiness of the fried tender pork with the rice, cheese and sour cream. I like to ask for onions, cilantro and tomato in mines for variety and freshness to cut the heaviness of the fats and dairy. Tacos I normally would get or recommend is the Carnitas, Pollo, Cabeza, Suadero, and Asada. Carnitas are as delicious as explained with the burrito. Pollo or known as chicken tacos are super tender and juicy. It's also very flavorful, and one of my favorite chicken tacos to get here because most places don't make chicken very well and are usually very dry. The cabeza is super tender and a great option. Suadero just like the asada is just a better version of the asada cut. It's packed with more flavor and seasoning than the asada and slightly more tender which is why I prefer it to the regular steak. I tend to find the asada more dry and sometimes tough. Recently the pricing doesn't reflect on the fairness of the portion size. $4 tacos but the meats aren't as packed. Felt like they started to skimp because of rising costs but has been happening before then. $15 burrito but the sizing isn't as filling as it used to be. I started to see more rice than meat. They've also started to be very stingy with a huge attitude especially the gentleman that works on the pick up station when asking for extra pickled veggies, limes and salsa. And it happens every time for the past several years now. For example he gave me 2 limes, 4 pieces of sliced pickled carrots, 2 slices of pickled jalapenos, 3 radishes, and 1 rojo salsa for an order of a super burrito and 7 tacos. When I asked for extras the gentleman gave me an attitude and said he already did and won't give more. Only reason I still go here is because it's close to home and if my favorite spots for tacos are closed for the night.
