The price is reasonable for both window and parts. Service at the desk is good except one who is not too enthusiastic for a popular, not so pleasant but acceptable reason. I overlook it. The installers are great except once he overestimated the framing work needed and they were done in 1 hour for $ 600 dollars. Ooook I went to the office and talked to the owners/couple. A small but polite exchange resulted in $ 200 dollars back. Nice! They did not have a smile so one star taken away, I still highly recommend this store! Purchased Milgard windows from there within the promotion period. After waiting for the windows, and delay in installation because of defective materials, finally tried to apply for the rebate, Milgard said they wouldn't honor the rebate and said to call Roadrunner for help and to have them connect with Milgard sales rep. I couldn't discuss anything with Roadrunner because the lady on the phone was absolutely rude and condescending. This is the kind of business that would give you a hard time if you have a problem with your purchase, too risky to buy anything from them that might run into problems in the future like doors/windows. read more

First off, loved how the two guys, didn't get there names, but if you recognize them from the picture, they did an amazing job, arrived literally as soon as the office manager said they would.. between 8:30am-5pm. We were burglarized and had to get a replacement window. Wanted to go with them because they're local. At first I felt like I was bothering her because I couldn't answer any of the questions. I know nothing about windows and just wanted to feel safe and get a new window. But instead, she had someone come over quickly to check out the window so they can get a quote for the replacement and know exactly what we needed. Thankfully we are pretty close to them, which is why I think she was able to do that. They gave an estimated time for replacement. It was the end of the estimated days, and still no call, so I decided to just call and check because I know they're a smaller business and it's a whole new replacement. Basically it came on time and they were doing their spot check on it. I had to push a little for a sooner install date because it was too long for our comfort level. Despite being short staffed, they were able to move it up a few days. The person that came to install, I think Michael, was amazing. He was quick, cleaned up after himself, took out the boards we put up to cover up the broken window. He even later told us that the previous owners that had the windows installed didn't add certain things to the window that should be there. Very professional. We purchased our new construction (not retro fit) windows a year ago and we could not find anyone to install them for over a year. We had several construction people come by and quote us (dramatically over priced) or would not follow up. When Scott showed up he examined all the 10 windows getting replaced, something the other inspectors did not do (surprisingly, but not). His team did a seamless job on the installation and stucco outside. Scott was the only guy I felt comfortable with and trusted doing the job. A family business with great reviews and reputation is hard to come by. When you get work done on your home, you want someone that understands the work and has a good team. I do agree with some reviews, there needs some fixes on the backend, but that does not warrant one star. I review on workmanship, service and the actual job! Not a missed call or a quote off by $25 or someone with a handful of reviews.... get real! As a 2016 elite yelper, trust me when I say these are the guys to go to. My dad is a retired construction manager, I have made several home renovations, so I know a good job when I see it. I have been meaning for years to replace some custom sized glass shelving. I called pre-pandemic and got pricing for the size I needed. Now that I am finally getting around to this, I was pleased to see this business still going strong, so I stopped in unannounced. The two people in the office were super friendly and helpful. Yes, they could cut the glass to match my shelf. I asked how long it would take, expecting probably a week's wait. The response, "about an hour." But since we were about an hour from closing time, it might not be ready until the next morning. I was surprised and delighted. I ran an errand and came back just before closing. The shelves were polished and ready and I got them same day. They even polished the edges of my original that had a few chips on the edge. Now they did tell me that timing cannot always happen. I lucked out to catch the crew between larger jobs, but I was so tickled to have this nagging task complete and so easy and quick. Really positive experience. I worked with Pete and he was super nice, understanding, and honest/transparent. I believe the pricing I was given was fair. I had a hole in the glass of my screen door (thank you tree removal company... that review will look very different). Pete ordered the materials needed to fix the glass/door and also came in the meantime to help board up the space to avoid further damage and breakage. The materials took a bit longer to come in than expected (2 weeks), but Pete did everything possible to help expedite the rest of the process. He also helped work directly with my HOA company to ensure that we were following any rules on color/material/etc so that I would not be fined later, and they came to a mutual agreement and solution. read more

Wife and I went in to inquire about a shower glass panel on Monday 10/10. They said they would send someone out for a free onsite consultation the following Wednesday 10/19 between 10:00am-12:00pm as that was the earliest appointment they had. Wife confirmed it was the following Wednesday because we have to coordinate schedules to have someone be at home. After mulling over rough estimate cost of $2,000-$3,000 provided on Monday 10/10, we decided to move forward in a different direction. My wife called today (10/12) to cancel the free onsite consultation. They noted that they already sent a technician out to the property today for our "scheduled (10/12) appointment from 10:00am-12:00pm. Mind you it's like 10:30am when she called and there's no one home and we wouldn't be able to make it back to the property even if they showed up. They kept stating the appointment was today and not next week when my wife had clarified with them multiple times on Monday 10/10 that it was the following Wednesday 10/19. Lastly, they then said we had to pay $50 cancellation fee for THEIR error in sending out a technician on the wrong day. I'm sure their quality and workmanship is great as other reviews have shown; however, their inability to schedule correctly proves to be a deal breaker for some. Also, probably should have told us ahead of time too if there would be a "cancellation fee" for a "free consultation". read more

Sometime in mid-to late November 2016, we contacted Roadrunner Fremont for an estimate to have seven of our windows replaced. We were put in contact with Chuck. We didn't hear back for a while so I followed up with a text to Chuck on December 14 asking for a status on a quote; we finally received the quote on December 21, about one month after first requesting it. We decided to move forward with the work since we felt the quote was very reasonable compared to a couple of others we had received (we should have known better). Sometime in January, Chuck called my husband to tell him he had received the windows and asked us to store them until the installation could be scheduled. We refused, obviously, and told Chuck he would need to keep the windows until the install. We thought that was quite an odd request. The install finally got scheduled for March 2. On that day, a crew of one (!!) arrived (Galen, a general contractor). After taking a look at what needed to be done, he didn't get to work right away, and a while later Chuck arrived. An animated conversation between the two ensued outside and after Chuck left, Galen told me he had to go the store to get additional supplies. I was surprised: shouldn't he have had everything he needed?? After being gone for about one hour, Galen returned. By the end of the day, only the two bathroom windows and the master bedroom window had been installed but the work wasn't finished (no insulation, etc.). My husband returned home from work and immediately noticed the three windows that had been installed were too small (I uploaded a few pictures to Yelp). Galen then proceeded to tell us that he had mentioned this fact to Chuck in the morning but that Chuck told him to install the windows anyway. My husband sent Galen packing and called Chuck to request an explanation. Chuck was apologetic and offered to make things right (whatever that means) but at that point, we rightfully had no trust left in Chuck. Thankfully, we hadn't been asked to pay a deposit (that should have been a warning sign). We hired another contractor, and I texted Chuck on April 26 asking him if he wanted the three windows back since we hadn't paid for them. He said he would pick them up. The new contractor set the windows by the side of our garage so Chuck could pick them up on April 28. As we should have expected, Chuck did not come to pick up the windows so my husband contacted Scott at Roadrunner early the week of May 7. Scott told my husband that he wasn't even aware we had been scheduled for an install as he had nothing on his books. At any rate, he was very apologetic and said he would have the windows picked up during the week. By May 15, the windows were still by the side of our garage. I emailed Scott on that day, expressing our frustration and asking him to please have the windows removed. I did not receive a response. On May 17, I called the Roadrunner Fremont office and spoke to Danielle who said she would talk to Scott about the windows needing to be picked up and would call me back the next day. I called again on May 18 around 3:30 PM since I hadn't heard back from her. She assured me she had spoken to Scott about the situation, that he was very apologetic, and that the windows would be picked up by May 22 at the latest. As of today (May 24) the windows are still by the side of our garage. My husband and I were beyond patient with Roadrunner and are extremely disappointed with their untrustworthiness and lack of professionalism. We now have to inconvenience ourselves further and handle the removal and disposal of those three windows. We will never consider hiring Roadrunner again. Ever. read more

Went to Roadrunner Glass Co for 2 separate quotes: 1. Glass, and 2. Mirror. Both times got a pretty bad experience. For the glass quote, I requested via email, the communication was pretty bad and the lady named Nicole sounded like she doesn't want my business at all via those communications. For the mirror quote, I first went into the store and got a quote from Loni, when I called to confirm my appointment based on the quote I got, Nicole told me the original quote was incorrect and gave me another quote over the phone by 50% more than the original quote on labor (delivery + installation). I contacted Roadrunner Glass to replace the glass in a sash window and a window insert in a door were fogging up based on the Yelp reviews below. Sadly, Yelp failed me in this case with a pretty bad customer service experience. I was told to expect the installer to arrive between 9 and 10 am. 10:30 rolls around, and no installer shows up. I called the office to ask whether or not an installer is still coming, and I was informed they didn't have any idea where he was as he was supposed to be at my home. So, they ask me to call them if no one showed up in 10 minutes. I actually waited another 20 minutes and still no one shows up. I call back to inform them that no one has shown up yet. The receptionist said she talked to the installer right after I called who said that she spoke with the installer right after I called the first time and found out that he would not be there until 11 am. I informed her that I was disappointed that no one called to let me know that the installer was going to arrive this late. This morning a few days later, I go to move a box that was sitting below the window that was replaced and discover that my baseboard right below the window was damaged. Approximately 1 1/4" x 1 1/2" section about 1/8" to 1/4" gash on my baseboard. (i posted a pic) I even found some chips of the damage still lying on the carpet. The installer damaged the baseboard and then put the box in front of the damage so I wouldn't notice. I paid $475 for this experience?!?! Why would you damage something and not let the homeowner know leaving them to find the damage later. Not cool at all as you cannot expect their employees to be honest and upfront with you. I would not recommend them at all. Update: After my review and feedback, the owner emailed me and offered to repair the damage. He came out and replaced the entire length of the baseboard in a timely manner. I was about to move out a few days later and put my house on the market so my timing was critical. He told me that he was going to send a painter out to paint the baseboard and fill in the nail gun holes. However, no one ever showed up to complete the work or called to follow up. That was a disappointment to say the least. My husband completed the repair while doing other touch up work around the house. read more

I called asked for glass sliding door quote & told me $400.Aftert they come out & look at the glass told me $650. I was ok with that but after they replaced the glass on the sliding door it wasn't smooth rolling on track.1st guy came did very poor job so called them back to fixed the problem since labor cobered for 1 yr & they charge additional $180. I wouldn't recommend them. May be ok for second choice if 1st choice is not available. read more

I'd give it zero if I could. I know that's cliche in the yelp world, but let me explain. Been trying to work with them to replace a leaking weather exposed window and fix some insulation issues on the others in the house. It's been a few months. Nothing got accomplished. They told me 2-4 weeks as the window was a special order, never called back. Had to reach out to them a number of times to find out what was going on, mind you, with 8-10 days at a time that'd go by with no reply. This pattern continued for a few months, then finally after reaching out again, again, again, a lady told us she no longer worked there. Pretty promptly after all this another lady reached out and said definitively, they'd be here today, Friday, between 8:30 and 9:30. Now I'm stoked. This can all come to an end and be done. 9:30 passed and no one arrived, figured someone was in traffic or something, so I decided to call just to make sure everything is ok (I'm obviously a little concerned because of the pattern leading up to today's incident). I'm passed to a gentleman who informs me that the job was canceled. Great. I inquired as to why I wasn't contacted regarding a cancelation and asked why I'm finding this out after the company is supposed to be here. He said because of the weather and said someone was supposed to have called me. I required some level of accountability for everything up to this point and received excuses and silence. He went so far as to tell me there has been 90 inches of rain this year, and I informed him that I'm aware as I've taken on 15-20 inches of it in my house since the last time they were here and made a bigger mess of an already leaky window. After all of this, he decided to leave a message - not to apologize for what had occurred, but instead to say he didn't like my attitude. LET ME REMIND YOU THAT YOU ARE A BUSINESS THAT HAS MADE A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE MISTAKES. THAT MEANS YOU APOLOGIZE TO YOUR CUSTOMER AND GUARANTEE THAT THE SITUATION WILL BE REMEDIED. YOU DO NOT CALL AFTER AND BERATE YOUR CUSTOMER BECAUSE YOU WILL HAVE NO FUTURE BUSINESS TREATING PEOPLE THAT WAY.
