This is a follow up to my Friday review where nothing has changed. Roadrunner failed us although recommended by the Toyota dealership. We paid on My 20th and to date transport never assigned and they left my daughter to travel across country alone for 3 days. I'm extremely upset and disappointed in the lack of service and failed promises. Especially not being able to get anyone to care or explain once you had booked. Nicholas stopped responding and no one else had answers. I know no one cares about customer service now days but this was really foul! If you don't have companies to provide services you shouldn't sell expectations of services being delivered. We lost airline money and you added a very stressful and traumatic experience. read more

Worse company ever. Roadrunner auto transportation can not be trusted to do a job. They will take your money, confirm your request for transportation then leave you high and dry. Total lack of communication. Total lack of respect for the customer. I've never seen a company run like this one is. Beware. The anxiety involved is through the roof. He just contacted me, so I am arranging for a reputable carrier instead of RoadRunner. Seems that the Acme roller blades and rocket back pack aren't working. Do not use Roadrunner! Worst experience of my life!! Craig Erickson of Roadrunner told me my car would be in good hands. This company did not transport my car. They are a "booking" company. My car was actually picked up by "Vehicle Transport Inc." When they picked up my car, they took a bunch of pictures and I had it in perfect condition. The guy actually took it to a hub location and it didn't even get shipped for a whole week. I could have had it out of the elements for an entire week. When it arrived, it was in horrible condition, covered in dirt and mud and you could not see out of the windows. I realize it was an outdoor transport, but OMG, really? I have had cars transported before but this was horrible. Plus, Craig Erickson told me that Roadrunner gives "Door to Door" service. This was NOT door to door service as they made my brother drive 20 minutes to pick up my car. I have been trying to reach Roadrunner for many weeks now and NO ONE WILL RETURN MY PHONE CALLS. How come I had to go thru Google to rate this company on yelp? I am thru the roof frustrated with this company at the moment. Question! Why will you reach out and communicate so well when you trying to get my money and then turn ghost the moment you apply charges to my card? Your representative called me and told me a driver would be to my house in about the next 3hrs this was roughly around 4:21 PM on 11 December 2020. They said they just had to get my approval so they could confirm it. So I agreed and poof like that I soon see a pending for my payment. Before hanging up he reassures me that the driver will be reaching out to me soon. Around 8pm 11 December 2020 my car is still parked at my house, my phone has not rang nor have I received any texts from this "Driver" so I (the person who paid my hard earned for your services) start trying to contact your company. I get no answers at any number I have been contacted from or your customer service while calling. I ask your online support for questions and REQUEST that they call me or my wife and leave both numbers. I got an email stating that there is no delays and that the driver has 48hrs to pick up my car (would have been cool if the guy that told me 3hrs initially told me that prior to charging my card). Still NO ONE called me like I requested and it is now 13 December 2020. Obviously I (the paying customer) didnt deserve a callback since I paid you already right!? You are moving someone's car! Cant you have someone on call with computer from their home to take a concerned customers call? I mean im sure you have something like this lined up anyways with COVID-19 for during business hours. I mean vehicles are not just picked up, moved, and delivered during business hours. I'm still praying for a happy ending to this story. Your business sounded too good to be true when I was initially speaking to someone from this company while I was getting quotes, and I was excited to do business with this company. The service I have received since makes me sad. Communication. Communication. Communication. If you want repeat business, word of mouth advertising, good reviews it's too easy. Be up front and honest from the beginning i.e the following: Your vehicle may be picked up within the next 3 hours or up to the next 48 hours. We will not be reachable during calls or online messaging after hours or over the weekend but if you have any issues please call when we open on the next business day. Please take my views as a customer as a chance to improve the way you do business. Roadrunner was supposed to pick up my car today in Mesa, AZ and deliver it to Kingman, AZ today. I received a text message at 7 a.m. this morning that a driver would contact me with a 2 to 3 hour notice of when they were picking up the car. I have not heard from anyone today and it is 3 p.m. I tried calling 3 different phone numbers that I had for Road Runner Auto Transport. Each number had you press button 1, 2, or 3 for service and then I was on hold from 15 to 20 minutes with no one ever answering the phone. I tried responding to the text that I received this morning, but the number did not accept text messages. I have no way to communicate with these people. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Roadrunner Auto Transport had a 3rd party vendor(ARIZONA AUTO RELOCATION) pick up my vehicle from Ct. dealership on Tuesday, June 21 and I was in constant contact with the driver until Sunday and was told by the driver it would be delivered that night. I then lost contact with the driver and Dispatch could not get a hold of them for three days at which time they delivered the vehicle to me on Thursday, June 30 and it had rear bumper and right rear quarter panel paint damage. I took a time stamped photo of it and they had records of the pick up at the car dealership where the driver marked the vehicle as not damaged. they denied any claim to damaging my vehicle and I had to pay $3000 out of pocket to get my car painted in addition to $2,186 god transport During the process I was never allowed to speak to a manager and I was always sent a voicemail and a regular Clerk would answer me. Having been an investigator for 12 years I advised them how to go about it and to contact the two drivers and was never given any information other than Arizona relocation denied any wrongdoing. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone and I know that the owner always answers on Yelp but nobody was available when I was needing more assistance than Clerk with no experience or authority. I need a full refund of my transport costs or I'll be filing a civil lawsuit immediately for the transport as well as the paint cost. I have all phone, text, photo, and legal documents to show it was damaged in transport. I have sued previously and it is very easy process. you simply show your proof and judgement takes place in approximately 10 minutes. read more

Up-sell Insurance Scam - RUN AWAY. Dishonest back-office staffer/estimator. Texted for a quote, $585 for my application. Got someone on the phone, price shot up another $100+ for no good reason, as they had all the details. No biggie, I needed it shipped - booked it. Driver was on time at the appointed location, had the supplies to extend his ramp, vehicle loading. While the vehicle was being loaded, my phone rings. It was Jason/Justin/Jimmy... don't remember. He say's "hey, I just noticed we didn't get the value of your vehicle for the insurance." That is how the call started, exactly like that. Ok, here you go. Great this will cover you for full replacement, blah, blah, blah. Made it sound like it was part of the deal. At NO time did he say it was optional coverage, or would you be interested in additional insurance, and he certainly did not tell me it would be an additional $395! Short call, hung up. A day later my credit card gets hit with not only the $685, but an additional $395 that I DID NOT AUTHORIZE. So I call Jimmy/Justin/Jake and he denies it, said he told me it was optional. That he reads from a script. Utter bullshit Jimmy/Joey/Justin and you know it. I caught you. Said, "our call was recorded." So I said great, go listen to it an make my refund. He said ok, and that he'd call me back. He didn't. They also didn't tell me that the car wouldn't be transported back the same day/evening which is what we discussed. Driver had to take break to be in compliance and I'm ok with that. Those things need to be spelled out so that you can arrange to meet the driver. Not a big deal either. So over a month later, I'm going back and for with American Express to get my $395 back. Hey, I appreciate the up sell. I know he's trying to earn some additional revenue/commission, but not this way. Not the "by the way we need one more bit of info crap." Be up front, detail your offering, explain the cost. Heck, for a better price, I might have considered it. But now you've created a bad situation, bad reviews, and a fight that you could have avoided. I deal with a lot of car people and this will get around I assure you. This is really about principal and not taking advantage of people. So you can count on this being made right. Whether you do it on your own, American Express handles it, or a lawyer. Now run off and do the right thing. read more

First off, I found this company on the internet and saw a reported 26 thousand reviews with a 4.7 out of 5 star score. Entered my service request to receive a quote. Within an hour received a quote. A representative called and continued to stay in touch with me until my car was available to be picked up. I paid to have the order dispatched. I received a text on the day of the scheduled pick up that a driver had been dispatched and would contact me within 3 hours of pick up. 4 days later no call, no text, no pick up. I tried on multiple occasions using multiple numbers to contact the company and heard the same piece of muzak on hold for hours. Absolutely awful. If zero stars were possible. We're making a cross country trip, and they seemed pleasant and knowledgeable enough, however, even though we booked several weeks out, and they were unable to secure a carrier, but don't bother to actually keep you apprised of that fact. We went well beyond the ready/ pickup date and the best they had to offer was, "you're still pending, but marked urgent". Thankfully, we were able to rearrange our plans and drive the vehicle. I don't know what would've transpired if we had already departed for our destination, trusting the vehicle would be transported, but instead was abandoned. Additionally, communication was terrible. When booking, they called back almost immediately. When trying to find help, they NEVER called back. When we were given a number to call for help (from a chat operator, who could not answer questions) the number's message would say, "We are experiencing heavy call volume, our apologizes, good bye", and automatically disconnect. My recommendation to anyone looking to transport a vehicle- find a private, licensed and bonded transporter, not one of these companies who subcontract and have zero control over the schedule they agree to. read more

Roadrunner should set a higher standard when hiring carriers. I contacted roadrunner, not that carrier, so you should be the one taking responsibility instead of passing the wrong doing and using that as an excuse. This company was horrible in all aspects of a company. I was left with the feeling of being scammed. From the start things weren't ideal. Gives quotes that will be cheaper than all other transporting agencies to coerce you into contract with fine print giving them ample space to up charge later. My personal quote was Off by two hundreds dollars for misc reasons the rep said "gas prices, location," blah blah blah but all of that info is what you plug in when you get a quote to begin with. I was particular on the days the car was to be picked up due to tight schedule. Was reassured extensively by the "sales" team that there were no issues. I was originally told that a driver will pick up my car on a Saturday and I have to be available to meet him and would be notified day before the scheduled pick up on a time frame. Zero communication from the company transpired day before scheduled pick up. On Saturday, after multiple attempts to contact any staff with no success and still heard nothing, I was becoming anxious not only bc my plans for travel were in jeopardy but because they had already received a large deposit and I was concerned I was scammed. finally received a phone call from their "dispatch" and was told that I was mislead by "sales team" bc there were no drivers and it is scheduled to be picked up on Monday and reassured me that drop off date was not affected. He then collected another 200 dollars for "insurance" for anything that happens to vehicle, like vandalism or being stolen as they were not responsible if that were to happen. I hesitantly paid the amount bc It was too late too switch transport services for my travel plans. By end of Monday when I heard nothing from driver - all the numbers provided by company were either busy signal or automated voice stating no longer working numbers. Imagine my anxiety for not only feeling scammed but it left me in a bad situation for my personal travel. I reported the charges on my credit card as fraud Monday night. Which I have never done in all my years of spending money... only to hear from the company at 11a on Tuesday if I was canceling my reservation because I signed a contract stating the dates are flexible and it is not their issue if I was lead with the impression that the dates discussed were going to not be an issue. With in that contract conveniently there was a cancellation fee equivalent to the deposit. This company was a nightmare. And I couldn't imagine how much worse it would have been if I gave them my car to be transported for the phone numbers provided to once again become conveniently non working. read more

This company contacted me after I got quotes for shipping my car on a search aggregator. They knew my pick up and drop off points as both cities were listed in the emailed quote they sent to me. They left me a voicemail and sent two emails stating they had availability for my requested job. When I reached out to the sales agent, he then told me that my route was "a really bad run" and that in order to fulfill it, the recipient would have to drive four hours round-trip to retrieve the car, and I'd have to drive two hours round-trip to drop it off. I don't have any issue with them not being able to do the route. My issue is that they saw with the route was, contacted me for my business, and then when they got a hold of me, told me my route was too hard and wanted me and my recipient to drive long distances on both the pick up and drop of ends. Such a waste of time. In the future, if you guys check reviews, don't bother contacting customers about jobs you're not willing to do. Or if you want to contact them anyway, at least be transparent. read more

Bait and Switch!! This company quoted me $495 online to have my vehicle transported. When I called to pay and confirmed the gentleman I was speaking with told hey I have an even better rate and charged me $70 less than the online quote. Awesome right!! Great first impression. Then I get the phone call that a driver has decided to haul my car. I am now told that the driver says his space is worth more than this company allowed me to pay them for and am told to pay an additional $150. Then tells me that he could cancel and allow new drivers to accept but "good luck" probably won't happen. I advised I had another company that would do it for less and still wanted to use Roadrunner based on reviews and that I had already given them money. I asked for explanation and advised I felt it was a bait and switch and wanted an explanation of the reason and I was rudely talked over and I quote " good luck finding that magical company that will do it for that price" then I was told the contract was canceled and told to have a good day and hung up on. I called and tried to talk to a manager but was told they were in a meeting and would call me back within the hour. That was 6 hours ago. So if you want to deal with a company that will lie to your face then somehow make it seem like it's your fault they changed the prices after you pay them than go with these guys. These guys are running a real class act. Kudos for to the customer support person who told me good luck with the magic company. Keep him around. After a bad experience with another car transport company (Nexus Auto Transport), Roadrunner came to the rescue. Their quote was a bit pricier but you get what you pay for! I was extremely pleased with their service and they got my car from West Virginia to Arizona in 2 days. They were professional, communicated well, and sent me the appropriate documents quickly. I felt very secure using their service, especially after being burned by the other company. Once I started speaking with Roadrunner I realized how shady the other car company was. I was genuinely conflicted to book with this company, as the Yelp reviews are either extremely positive or extremely negative - luckily I had an extremely positive experience! The first thing I'd like to mention is that while I'm sure this company is a broker, it's all done behind the scenes and you won't be inundated with calls and texts from multiple companies - RoadRunner will just reach out to you once an available carrier confirms they can do the route. I worked with Chase and Shane in the office, they returned my calls and answered any questions I had - I then received timely information from dispatcher Natalie and driver Jafar. They were great! Just some things to be aware of - my total did come back about $150 higher than originally quoted, and they do charge you up front. As my car was being shipped from a tiny town in PA to Phoenix, AZ, the truck wasn't able to make it down the small street for pick-up...if this happens the driver will just communicate a parking lot nearby (pick-up ultimately occurred within 1.5 mi of my original request). They were able to pick-up within a day of my requested date, and the car got here FAST - left PA at 10 AM on Sunday, and was delivered in Phoenix by 7:30 PM on Tuesday. Driver called 30 min prior to pick-up and drop-off in accordance with the time frame provided by Natalie (but do be aware the tracking feature on the site doesn't work so you kind of just have to wait). I received moderate service from Roadrunner. When I first inquired, the rep was very attentive. And then when I committed and paid, I stopped hearing from him beside an email containing my invoice statement. When I called the next week, I could not reach him. Finally I spoke with a customer service person who told me that I should work with her or any other service rep from then on out. And that the original person was a booking rep I would never talk with again. That began the weeks of scramble of no one assigned to me and dates & info always changing. Plus no one communicated with the dealership where my car was located. It was very frustrating. My vehicle arrived 4 weeks after what was originally agreed upon. Absolutely awful! I'm only writing this as a public service in the hopes that no one else accidentally selects this terrible company. They company was very responsive when it came to providing a quote. Then met commitments through the time that our truck was picked-up for transport. Then the whole process came undone. At no time was I ever advised that RoadRunner subcontracted out the transport to another company. Once my truck was picked up, communication was terrible. When you try to use their phone number to get a status on your vehicle, no one ever picks up. You always get a message saying "We are experiencing heavy call volume, our apologizes, good bye", and then you are automatically disconnected. If you log into their chat function for an update, you are connected with an AI rep that gives canned answers. They basically kept saying that our transport company will call us with updates. BUT THEY NEVER DO - why? Because I came to discover that the transport company is only supposed to be in touch with RoadRunner and RoadRunner is expected to keep the customer in the loop, which they do not. Thank goodness our subconcontracted transport company came through in the end - a week later than expected for delivery but the truck was delivered. You as a customer, have no way to contact your subcontracted transport company, and no way to get a hold of a real-person at RoadRunner. We were getting ready to report our truck stolen to the police given the lack of communication. My recommendation to anyone looking to transport a vehicle- find a private, licensed and bonded transporter that does the transporting themselves. I was contacted by Brandon to arrange my car to be transferred from AZ to VA, all was good, the price, my date and the location. I signed the agreement. However, I didn't hear from anyone, and the contract just read pending driver. Now it's the day before I need my car shipped and I just received a text saying a driver had been assigned call a number and provide my booking number. I called immediately and am still waiting online ... already it's been 50 mins. I'm starting to believe this is a scam to say I was supposed to contact them when they really haven't assigned a driver. I even tried reaching out to Brandon the rep who called me up until I signed the agreement, and now he is dodging my calls. Finally spoke to Julio Sanchez with of course a price increase. Now this is the day before I need it shipped it's the way they wait to the very last moment ... they are not a reputable company. I will not use them again. read more

Awful company to use! Would not recommend this company to anyone. I've had my cars shipped all over the United States when I was in the military and this is by far the poorest excuse for transport broker that I have ever dealt with. The transporter who was contracted by RoadRunner had to be the most inept person that my family ever had to deal with. Showed up to the pickup site knowing that the car was inoperable, but expected us to have tools available for them to use in order to load the vehicle into their trailer. The transporter made contact with my family the day before they were supposed to drop the car off, but on the day the car was to be delivered, they mysteriously could not get in contact with anybody. Due to the fact that the transporter allegedly could not get in contact with anyone, they dropped the car off on the street with the keys left in the ignition and no paperwork claiming that any type of post delivery inspection was completed. On RoadRunner's website, it clearly states that the vehicle will be inspected and keys will be handed to a receiving party (absolute lie). My car had been in storage for over a year and therefore did not have a current registration; this car could have been towed off by the city, or it could have been stolen by anyone with a car trailer. This poor excuse of a transporter could not even back a trailer into an empty driveway to at least unload the car in the driveway. I made contact with RoadRunner's management and told them of the situation and demanded a refund due to the extremely poor service that their contracted transporter provided. Their response was that since the car was delivered the contract was fulfilled and I was not entitled to any sort of refund. They could not even seem to comprehend, nor did they care, that my car could have been stolen or towed off by the city! They did not even acknowledge the fact that their contracted driver was a complete incompetent. They really make sure that customer is always wrong. Do not use this broker! Absolutely horrible. Their website tries to dazzle you with all these pictures of celebrities who have used their services. Look at their website, their reviews are all glowing 4/5 star ratings. If they were truly transparent, they would have the negative reviews posted as well. Use companies like USHIP, who contract out to reputable drivers that can actually back a trailer and have their own equipment. read more

I was looking for quotes online, received a phone call asking if I still needed my vehicle picked up this Friday from Los Angeles (to Phoenix area) and I told them I wasn't in a hurry looking for the lease expensive way-it is my daughters 2002 Hyundai, just didn't want her to drive it home across the desert-I was quoted just short of $1000, I said that it was an old car and that's ridiculous, then their representative got pissed and told me I was ridiculous. I have several issues with Roadrunner. First, the driver didn't pick up on the day agreed to, and no one notified me that the driver would be delayed. In fact, I talked to someone in customer service late in the day scheduled, and they said there were no delays (also, I had to call four times to get through to a customer service rep, and waited on hold for about 30 minutes before someone finally answered). The driver DID NOT pick up at my address as agreed to. He gave me a 1/2 hour notice that he was dropping off at a parking lot 30 minutes from my home. I had to scramble finding someone to follow me and drive me home from the lot. When delivering, they did not deliver to the address agreed to. In fact, they stopped in the left turn lane of a busy road and took the car off their truck! Very unsafe! I again had to scramble to find someone to get me to the dropoff spot. The scheduling agent told me we could load some light items in the vehicle up to the windows as long as we don't add more than 100 pounds. However when it was picked up they said it would cost $150 more. Then they picked it up one day late and delivered io Tucson FIVE days late. The Easiest and Smoothest process, ever! I randomly picked RoadRunner out of sheer luck. Two names should be known to you: Nick, and Carlos. I dealt with Nick over the phone was incredibly charming and kind. Our conversation was simple and I needed my car shipped from Florida to California. I picked a date, and done! Carlos picked up the car and I saw him ten days later in California. My Car arrived in Pristine shape. Carlos is the ultimate gentleman. This company does not honor their prices or commitments. We agreed to a price, money was exchanged, but when it came time to send a driver they tried to get more money out of me than agreed to. I told them no, I agreed to a certain price and I expect you to honor it. My car was supposed to be picked up yesterday. I still have no driver and I'm leaving for my new home soon. RoadRunner Transport was efficient and a cost effective way to move your car across the country. The bid process was quick and easy, and within my budget. Communication is mostly by text or email, but you can call and speak with a representative anytime during business hours. The transport driver picked up the car on the date and was professional and took notes of all my minor dings. There is additional insurance you can take out out on the car if needed for added security. The bonus was my car arrived a day earlier than expected, but I had family members there to sign and were in communication with the driver. All in all, a great experience! read more

Called to get a quote to ship my car from Phoenix to Rochester, NY, and I received a quote. I did a bit of research and found that RoadRunner AT has a D+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and a LOT of negative comments. The theme of most of the comments was that once the sales transaction was finished and they got the customer's money, the company just disappeared. Many people complained about a complete lack of response to repeated calls and emails asking for status of their cars in shipment. The sales guy called me today to see if I wad going to contract with him and I told him no because of the very poor BBB rating and the myriad of customer complaints. He became very aggressive on the phone, telling me that they are the largest auto transport company (size doesn't mean quality) and the BBB was an extortion racket to get money from companies (why is RoadRunner a member of the BBB then?). I advised the sales guy that I'm the customer and it wasn't appropriate to argue with me...he hung up on me. I would NEVER ship a car with RoadRunner under any circumstances, full stop. Buyer beware. Check out any auto shipper that you are considering using with the BBB, Google, Yelp and other sources of customer feedback. read more
