Scheduled a pickup for a Tuesday, but the local carrier called and asked if I could do Monday, a day earlier instead. I was fine with that. Pick up went well and on the back end, my car arrived safely without damage. Great. There are a few things, however, that made the experience less than stellar that left me with only giving two stars: 1) Communication-I received an automated text at 6 AM on the morning it was scheduled to arrive and then...silence. The message said I'd receive a call 2-3 hours ahead of delivery and I waited the whole day+ and got nothing. Calls to the agent I booked with went unanswered. Calls were made the next morning and only received a response from their broker dispatch-they had to contact the actual car hauler. I had the name of the carrier and contacted them and was told the driver had a delay somewhere and would reach out ahead of time. That was more than the Road Runner CSRs could offer. 2) Real time tracking did NOT work AT ALL. While it gave start and end days and the "route", there was no update other than the car being in transit. And contrary to what is clearly advertised, no way to look and see where the actual vehicle was in progress (from PA to AZ). That alone would have given me some idea of their arrival time when the dispatch had nothing to offer than "the driver will contact you". 3) Arrival time-still expecting a 2-3 hour advanced notice window, I received a call when the driver was SIX MINUTES away. I stayed close to home, but had I had real time tracking and actual communication, it would have lessened the stress of not knowing where my vehicle was. 4) Language barrier-I suspect that a clear language barrier was also a factor-the driver spoke very broken English and while he was pleasant and professional, there was no explanation for the additional 30 hours I had to wait for some type of response. read more

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. My vehicle arrived during a dangerous rain storm and due to the immense rain at the time, we couldn't see that my driver side window was cracked. I contacted the company less than 12 hours later to let them know my car had paint chunks taken out and a broken window. I had purchased the additional coverage for $150 prior to its pickup for this very reason. When I contacted Roadrunner they couldn't care less. Customer service was AWFUL! NO return calls and an email I received was less than helpful. They would not let me access the additional coverage I purchased. SCAM company that takes your money and ruins your vehicle with absolutely no care or customer service skills. STAY FAR AWAY unless you want to spend $600+ to fix your vehicle. I had a confirmation from Roadrunner and received two messages that everything was on time and confirmed. On day the car was to be picked up, no one called or texted to confirm a delay. When I called they said they were not sure when they can pick the car up. They would not let me drop the car off at their office in Phoenix because they did not know if there was space available. They were rude and unhelpful on the phone after being on hold for over 45 minutes. Please do not ever use their service. The price was unbeatable. My truck driver, Billy, was absolutely the best. He communicated during the whole process, even sharing his location details when he got near the destination. Professional, friendly, and delivered when he said he would. There were no price surprises either. I highly recommend Roadrunner Transport. The only issue I ran in to was that they didn't pick the vehicle up on the day they had initially told me, but 2 days later. Please do not use this company for car transport. I booked the transport weeks in advance, and got two messages advising my transport was "confirmed" and "on schedule" in the weeks leading up to the scheduled date. On the date I scheduled for the pick up, I had not heard from a driver or the company itself. I called in and was advised they had not found anyone to pick up my car yet. This happened the day of my scheduled pick up. I had to completely reschedule my flight for days later, rent a new Airbnb, and then I had to get a quote from a new transport company that could provide a guaranteed pick up date. When I explained the inconvenience and asked if I was going to be offered a discount of any sort, I was advised no that they don't provide guaranteed pick up dates. Absolutely awful experience! Roadrunner had my car for 17 days before it was delivered. it was picked up 1/17 and finally delivered on 2/2. Orginally it was supposed to to be delivered on 1/24. never heard from Roadrunner. No one answers the phones on the weekends. I called Monday and I don't think they knew where my car was. It took them 4 hours to get back with me where my car was.. Then it was suppose to be delivered on 1/31. Truck broke down. Never got any updates. Had to pay extra because my truck was customized and had a roof top tent (they even asked to send them the first picture to see what they will work on). Driver called me when he got to wyoming that my RTT got blown away and was destroyed. RTT is built to be driven. I drove my truck all over the US for 3.5 years with the RTT on with no issue. This company isn't even willing to compensate for the damage as it was not a "permanent" part of the car. There was obviously scratches on the roof due to what happened. The RTT was bolted on and was never removed since it was installed 3.5 years ago. Terrible experience as a first time mover for the military assignment. Besides the damages, they were also late and had to spend my thanks giving waiting for it to be delivered. I should have looked them up through yelp before giving them my money. read more

Had the most terrible experience with this company DO NOT use them!!!! No one picks up the phone or responds to messages or emails. Eric Waldman completely ignores my messages. The driver extorted an extra $150 from me upon picking up the car and refused to take it unless he received extra payment. He claimed it was illegal to have items in the car, when the contract specifically states up to 100 pounds of personal belongings are permitted. This was complete bribery and the company has not responded to my messages about what happened. They should do the right thing and refund my $150 and take it up with the driver! We booked through RoadRunner to transport our 16 year old son's car from Arizona to Texas. We entered into a contract with Booking Representative William Lopez 3-4 weeks prior to our departure date. He couldn't provide an exact pick up date, but made the car "available for transport" in their system several days in advance to ensure it would be gone before our journey to Texas. Mr. Lopez promised it would be plenty of time as he understood our circumstances. Well, today is the final day before our departure and the car is sitting in the hotel parking lot...NOT assigned to a carrier. My son is a brand new driver and terrified to make the 18 hour journey. I've emailed and called Mr. Lopez several times over the past week, yet he refuses to respond as he probably knows he is in the wrong. In addition, don't even bother with their customer service department (Cynthia and Allison). They offered no assistance and refused to escalate my request to a supervisor. The only thing they did correctly was cancel my booking which took them all of 10 seconds. Luckily, I located Scott's Auto Carrier at the last minute and Melissa was completely astonished by the aforementioned lack of service too. As a result, she escalated my request and had her carrier arrive to get the car within 3 hours of my call. Thank you to Melissa and Scott's Auto Carrier for saving the day. This is just summary of our experience as I assume others have experienced better. The initial service, booking ease, price, and online tracking system was great. DO NOT use this company - the practice bait and switch with contract pricing - you sign a contract for a price and call you hours before pick up saying they can only continue if you pay and additional amount of money. We had a contract signed (not a quote - a signed confirmed contract) for months and received a call the day after original pick up informing us we had to pay $339 extra to get the car picked up. Additionally, the rescheduled pick up was then delayed an additional 3 days with lies and unfulfilled promises - and roadrunner would never answer our calls or return our messages asking for help. We scheduled with this company a month in advance. We called to get updates a week and a day in advance to confirm everything was good and told there were no issues. A couple of days before our shipping we were assigned a carrier but not told who it was. Day of pickup we called to see what was going on with our pickup and told we would get a call 2-3 hours before the carrier picked up and that they can pickup as late as 9 at night. The day goes by and around 2 we get an email with our carriers details. We call them and no answer. Fast forward to around 3 we call again and no answer we also try to call roadrunner and no one answers and both companies say they are closed. They were 1 day late picking up my vehicle without any prior notice of being late. I had to rebook my flight as a result. For Road Runner's service, I'd give *0-stars* but 1-star given because my vehicle actually arrived (though credit for is more attributable to the actual shipper than Road Runner) even though it was picked up 1 day late and arrived 1 day late. The reservation, booking, and payment process is simple...then everything turns into a dumpster fire from there once they have your accepted contract. Once they broker the job to an actual shipper, Road Runner just throws up their hands and says "contact the shipper directly" and makes ZERO effort to help with any problems...this is assuming you actually get to talk with a phenomenally unhelpful human. It's like herding cats trying to work with Road Runner... because cats can't talk, cats can't help you, and cats can't answer a phone or return emails...and neither does Road Runner. Details of my vehicle (custom features that affect shipping) were not provided to the contractor they assigned the job to. Their communication is non-existent after they charge you except for useless auto-generated email/texts that are 100% not helpful. The account managers NEVER answer phone calls or return messages. I ordered a service to ship my car from Sebring Florida to Wisconsin on February 21st. The shipment was scheduled to be picked up on February 23rd. This did not happen. When I called the next day to determine what happened I was on hold for over an hour three consecutive times. Since then I have called several times and been on hold for over four hours. A few days later I was given a pick up date, but alas (they claim) because of federal regs there was a price increase. On the day before the pick up I received a email and text notifying me my pick up date was delayed and low and behold there was another price increase. Like a dumbbell I said ok lets get it done and gave my credit card number. The next e mail I received provided a phone number to confirm my vehicle pick up and of course another price increase. Of course that phone number was not available to accept any calls. To summarize I was quoted $1335, then $1410, finally $1495. My car sits, I am unable to reach anyone regarding my transport. Please learn from my ignorance and find another service. This is the third car I shipped and my worst experience (and the most expensive). Hopefully the credit card company will cancel this charge. I paid my deposit to have Road Runner arrange the transportation of a vehicle purchased out of state! They took my deposit and booked the pick up. The day of pick up, I called several times to confirm that the company they outsourced too would be there to pick it up. No call from driver and no communication via email that there was a problem. Now they have my money and I have no car or even correspondence that is letting me know what their plans are to rectify the situation.
