Extremely Disappointing -- Their "Price Guarantee" Was Worthless…read more I chose Montway based on its positive reviews and advertised price guarantee--not because it was the cheapest option. Unfortunately, Montway failed to provide the service at all. Montway gave me a five-day pickup window. I made it very clear that the fifth day was a hard deadline because my family was flying to Ohio the following morning to move my sons into college. After we left, no one would be available to release the vehicle. I contacted Montway four times during the pickup window and repeatedly emphasized the deadline. Each time I was reassured that they were working on it and the car would be picked up. On the final day, with only about five hours remaining, I specifically asked whether I should make other arrangements. They told me they would expedite it. The car was never picked up. The failure created significant problems. My sons arrived at college without their car, and because the trunk contained bedding, kitchen appliances and other apartment supplies, we had to spend approximately $300 replacing items we already owned. What happened afterward was even more frustrating. When I contacted Montway, a supervisor explained that they had been unable to find a carrier willing to transport the car for the price Montway quoted me. She also said she couldn't provide compensation because the job had already been "underbid." So much for the price guarantee. Apparently, Montway's guarantee means they won't ask you to pay more. If they can't find a carrier at that price, however, they may simply not transport your vehicle. I would much rather have received an honest call saying it would cost another $200 or $300. I could have paid more and gotten my sons' car to Ohio. I understand Montway is a broker and must find an independent carrier. But that is precisely the service I hired Montway to provide. A price guarantee isn't worth much if the company can honor the price simply by not providing the service. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Montway Auto Transport.

Pick up went well and on the back end, my car arrived safely without damage. Great. There are a few things, however, that made the experience less than stellar that left me with only giving two stars: 1) Communication-I received an automated text at 6 AM on the morning it was scheduled to arrive and then...silence. The message said I'd receive a call 2-3 hours ahead of delivery and I waited the whole day+ and got nothing. Calls to the agent I booked with went unanswered. Calls were made the next morning and only received a response from their broker dispatch-they had to contact the actual car hauler. I had the name of the carrier and contacted them and was told the driver had a delay somewhere and would reach out ahead of time. That was more than the Road Runner CSRs could offer. 2) Real time tracking did NOT work AT ALL. While it gave start and end days and the "route", there was no update other than the car being in transit. And contrary to what is clearly advertised, no way to look and see where the actual vehicle was in progress (from PA to AZ). That alone would have given me some idea of their arrival time when the dispatch had nothing to offer than "the driver will contact you". 3) Arrival time-still expecting a 2-3 hour advanced notice window, I received a call when the driver was SIX MINUTES away. I stayed close to home, but had I had real time tracking and actual communication, it would have lessened the stress of not knowing where my vehicle was. 4) Language barrier-I suspect that a clear language barrier was also a factor-the driver spoke very broken English and while he was pleasant and professional, there was no explanation for the additional 30 hours I had to wait for some type of response.

NO return calls and an email I received was less than helpful. They would not let me access the additional coverage I purchased. SCAM company that takes your money and ruins your vehicle with absolutely no care or customer service skills. STAY FAR AWAY unless you want to spend $600+ to fix your vehicle. I also had chunks of paint from other cars on mine. Absolutely disgusting business with horrible business practices.
