If there was negative stars I would give them. I called to get a quote on shipping a car and the guy I talked to was incredibly rude. I had talked to a few other companies who had discussed ball park quotes with me over the phone. I am deciding if it is worth getting a car shipped or driving it back. They already had my phone number on caller ID because they repeated it back to me. When I did not want to give my email because I do not want a bunch of spam emails, he said "we don't waste our time with price scalpers" and hung up. I was not aware that not wanting to give my email made me a scalper. I have to wonder if their prices were so great why is that an issue. The absolute worst experience of my life. They don't tell you when you book that the CONFIRMED date they give you is not actually a confirmation--they picked up my car TWO WEEKS after I moved out of the state. I had to leave it with a friend. It has so far taken them additional two weeks to deliver, despite being told daily that my car was arriving "tomorrow". They won't let you speak with the direct carrier who has your car, so you are left to their ABYSMAL middle man customer service--three hour holds on the phone, where you have to call back repeatedly (I once had to call 17 times in a row and spent 3.5 hours trying to reach them only to have the agent hang up as soon as I said "hello"). They say their customer service picks up until 10pm EST, but I have never reached a human being after 6pm. They also raised my quote by $300 for all of this hassle. And I still have not received my car. I've contacted the Better Business Bureau. Bummed to write a weak review but I hope to spare others the same headache. With a move across the country CAt to ATL due to family issues, I called these guys and it all sounded great... The rate was better than expected, the car was to be picked up on the 23rd of December. The 23rd came and went with zero communication leading up to it or during the day. They called on the 24th and said they found a driver but it was Christmas eve so I declined as I was flying and couldn't make arrangements. Then I literally heard NOTHING from them, even after calling every other day. I told them if the rate was an issue and too low, I was open but needed the car asap. They told me it had been "escalated" which I believed meant they were actively looking for a carrier. Busy with move and family, I couldn't give it any additional attention other. I mistakingly believed they were looking for a carrier and my car would be on the way. After all, that was the reason I engaged a 'broker' in the first place. Finally, on January 14th, I took matters into my own hands. I began calling carriers on my own. I called A-1 Auto Transport. An angel named Jason told me to give him two hours. Two hours later, Jason had a carrier lined up and my car was picked up shortly after. Moving across the country is stressful enough, these guys totally blew it. read more

First they give you a price online, you confirm everything, they actually take the money from your account & then call to tell you "Okay we see you were quoted $795 online. Right now the cheapest driver we have at the moment is $1160, is this okay?" Then after you reluctantly agree to pay the extra few hundred dollars increase they tell you a carrier will contact you to confirm pick up for the date that you ALREADY PAID for. The carrier never contacted me so I had to wait the whole weekend to call on Monday to cancel my vehicle shipment since Road Runner is closed on weekends. When I called to cancel Monday morning they tried their best to make me give up by saying "Im going to transfer you to our department" then placing me on hold for 4 HOURS!! The truth is a lot of these companies are just middlemen that will take your money even if they don't have drivers at the moment in hopes of getting a driver in time. To start, I hardly ever write reviews (good or bad), but service from Road Runner was THE WORST! I initially booked a car shipment about 3 weeks prior to my desired pick up date on 5/17/2023. I spoke with the agent, Nick Raymundo, where he booked me with the reassurance that I would receive a booking well in advanced (about 1 week prior to desired date), he even told me "we're based in NY so your pick-up should be easy no problem!". 1 week leading up to the pick up date, I call again because carrier tracking is still "pending" meaning no one has confirmed pick up for my car yet. Up until THE DAY BEFORE my desired pick up date, A CARRIER STILL HAS NOT CONFIRMED MY CAR FOR PICK UP. I have had terrible customer service in attempting to contact both Nick as well as attempting to reach any other agent for help where I am placed on over a 30-40 minute hold. I was so stressed because I told Nick in previous calls that the latest pick up would have to be 5/18, because I will be on a flight to go back home the following day. I was unabIe to even cancel my booking in a timely manner because no one would answer their phone. I called Nick Raymundo twice with upsetting voice messages and not once did he call me back. When I finally got through to the general line, I was told by another agent (Luisa) after a 30 min hold that I won't get a confirmation of carrier assignment until the day of the shipment and she even had the audacity to ask me if I had someone else to be at pick up on a date later than 5/18. LIKE WHAT?! This is completely unacceptable as I was never told that this would be the case and I am forced into this waiting game. I ended up going with Sherpa auto transport, where I had to make a last minute booking on 5/16, requesting them to get me a carrier to pick up my car between 5/16 to 5/18 at the latest. They were so knowledgeable and helped me through a stressful time that Road Runner caused me. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT CHOOSE ROAD RUNNER AUTO TRANSPORT UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE STRESSED OUT OF YOUR MIND, I truly hate them with a passion now. I paid and additional $200 for the actual delivery location. Then the company had a delivery date of Monday, and they delivered early on Saturday and would not drop at the actual negotiated location. The driver told me that if I did not meet him at his location, he would drop my truck at an empty parking lot, and it would be left. I have reached out to the company, and they have not done anything to remedy my issues. I am reaching out to my card company to stop the extra charges they made me pay holding my truck hostage. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! RUN, DO NOT WALK, AWAY! After having a very good experience with them previously, it seems they have gone astray and are nothing like they were. I had scheduled to have my son's care shipped from Dallas where he is in school back home in New England. On the Friday pick up date the carrier is a no show. When I called Roadrunner, I was put on hold 40 minutes until customer service picked up. They said they would connect with the carrier - I heard nothing more. Saturday comes and I call first at 10, then at 12, then at 2 for a status update I waited - again - first for 25 minutes, then for 45 minutes, and final for over an hour (before I just hung up) - finally a get an email late in the day saying they have no update. Sunday they are closed. Monday comes and I call first thing - another 25 minute wait. They say they are working to connect with the carrier - again. Now the situation is getting dire as my son has to get on a airplane Monday afternoon. All I get from these jokers are emails saying that I need to be flexible and that they have no updates. Then at 2 PM they email me to say the carrier has cancelled the pickup - 4 days after the original pickup date. More than that, Roadrunner tells me to deal with it and that they will attempt to find another carrier - which they didn't do. I told them it was their responsibility to make good on the transport and find an alternative - and that is why I was paying them - and all I got was their sales manager Lana telling me to go pound sand. Do they know they are in the business of customer service? They had over 4 days to figure this out and DID NOTHING. Finally I had had it. I called a competitor and with TWO HOURS the car had been picked up - and my son made it to the airport in time for his flight. Amen! ROADRUNNER IS JUST AWFUL. BAIT AND SWITCH, BEWARE! We had them transport a car from Florida to Baltimore. The day before our pickup they DOUBLED the price, and worse than that even though we were promised "door to door" service, the driver said we had to meet him 30 minutes away in central Miami (so now an extra hour driving for both of us, "so far"). Fast forward to a couple days later in Baltimore -- call from driver says we have to meet him FORTY FIVE MINUTES AWAY on the other side of Baltimore through stadium traffic. We remind him we were supposed to have car delivered to our location, he says oh well I'll be back through the area in a week or two. (Through all of this Roadrunner never picks up phone after hour long holds, so no help there). Eventually driver "compromises" on a place 25 minutes away, and well he has our car and our money so we go (add another 50 minutes total driving time for both of us). When we finally get hold of Roadrunner after more hour-long-hold sessions it turns out (guess what) "it isn't our policy" to compensate us in any way for that. So just to review: DOUBLE THE PRICE at last minute, DRIVE EXTRA HOUR FOR PICKUP, and then DRIVE ALMOST ANOTHER HOUR for dropoff, and then NO HELP FROM ROADRUNNER. Maaan these people haven't even picked my car up and I'm already writing them a bad review. My mother and I put in a request for a quote last week on their website. They immediately called us back and were super friendly and SLIGHTLY better priced but their persistence is what made us go with them. A guy named Sean Dillon spoke to my mother and we confirmed on the 1st a pickup for the 4th. When no ETA was sent on the 3rd I began to reach out to nothing. I called this morning at 9am and they told me the truck drivers had just got on the road and I'd know something soon, that was 7 hours ago. I just called and finally got through to someone who pointed out that all pickup DATES are estimated and if I needed my car picked up sooner I could've payed a higher price and have it expedited. I then ask what is that process and he began to backtrack telling me he wouldn't suggest it and that this is their busiest time and blah blah blah. I understand the pick up being a estimate and the high demand atm but I wish they lead with that kind of transparency when trying to get us to book? If someone's shipping their car cross country they probably also have a scheduled trip so being CLEAR AS CAN BE would really help a lot especially in a time like this. Absolutely terrible. I had quite a few personal bumps in the road while using roadrunner. After I had booked (and paid) I had an emergency work trip that came up so I had to reroute my shipment to a friends house about 40 miles away(actually making the trip shorter for the driver) funny thing is though when my emergency work trip got canceled I was told I couldn't have the truck shipped to the original location without incurring extra fees even though I had paid to have it shipped there originally. Then there was the "real time tracking" what an absolute crock. Their website states that you'll be able to track your package in real time, what it means is that you'll be notified when it's been picked up, in transit, and delivered. And they won't even notify you you have to look it up. So when the day came for delivery and my truck was no where to be found, I couldn't do anything about it except call customer service who refused to be helpful. Every time I called I was told the same thing that they would contact the driver and call me back. I can promise you the only time roadrunner ever called me back was when they were trying to get my business and my money. All in all I've still yet to receive the vehicle I had shipped by them, nor have I heard anything or been contacted by customer service. Y'all need to pull your heads out and rethink your approach to customer service. read more

I just want to add that my delivery date was NOT less than 24 hours after scheduled delivery date as the owner stated in his response. It was SEVERAL DAYS AFTER. Status updates are never given. You will never know when your car is getting picked up or delivered. If there is a delay, you are never updated as a customer. I scheduled my vehicle for pickup almost a month before shipment date of 07/30, as we were moving on 07/31. As the 30th approached the status still said pending with no carrier assigned. I called, and emailed, several times to the booking agent Sean Dillon to see if everything was okay, and of course he never returned any call or email sent. Using the chat option is basically useless. You only netted canned responses to your question with no specifics, apology, or meaningful explanation. Its now 08/03 and we are no longer in the state because we moved, but our car is still there waiting to be picked up and still is not assigned a carrier. Had to leave my keys with a neighbor to give to them when they arrive. I can't get anyone over the phone still and chat support always says that "dates are estimates and subject to change". If I had known that when Sean booked it I wouldn't have went with them. Now I have no idea when my vehicle is going to be picked up, no one answers questions with anything other than reiterating that times are estimates and that they are working really hard to get a carrier assigned. Looking for a different company now to ship my car, as I don't have any idea if Roadrunner will ever come pick it up! read more

Run. Do not use this company. I paid extra to have my car on the top rack. Then Roadrunner called and, good news, they found an enclosed, one vehicle transport. So I don't have to pay the $100 extra. And they will pick up the car on Friday and deliver it on Friday, not Saturday as planned. They had to have it delivered from Maryland to New Jersey and to arrive by 7pm. The car was only picked up after 6pm. Hard to get to northern New Jersey from Maryland in just an hour. Not delivered on Friday. Not delivered on Saturday. Nobody at Roadrunner could tell me where in the world my car was. They claimed they could not contact the driver. Claimed they had no idea who the driver is. They also called me on Friday and tried to upcharge me on insurance when they, and the driver, are supposed to have insurance. I was supposed to be notified in advance to meet the driver when the car would FINALLY be delivered. It was delivered on Tuesday and I never got any contact. Noboday from Roadrunner knew where the car was. And I was charged the full $509.85. When I called and sounded aggravated the staffer on the phone hung up on me. This company should be embarrassed at how they treat customers. Yikes. I have an active booking for the shipment of 2 vehicles. Jonathan (extension 549) "assisted" me. I spoke to him once over the phone and he told me to select a ready date of 7/27 so that the vehicles will arrive on 8/1. Awesome. I booked online shortly after that phone conversation. Now, never during this phone conversation did Jonathan explain how exactly car shipment works (it's our first time) nor did he warn me that the "ready date" is not a guaranteed shipment date. I have pieced this together myself by calling other companies for quotes and by talking to my friend who works at a car dealership while I wait for Jonathan to decide whether he is going to return my three voicemails. I have called him a few times. The first few times the phone rang for a long time before going to voicemail. After the first voicemail it miraculously only rang 1 time and a half before going to voicemail. I tried his number + extension, the main phone #, and the cancellation line. Nobody answers the main phone either. It eventually hangs up on me. Same with the cancellation line. I emailed them and received a pretty generic response that they are working on my shipment. So. That said, the delay wouldn't be such a big deal had Jonathan explained how this process works, or if their staff (if it exists?) answers their phones and COMMUNICATES about this process. If the bid is too low, CALL THE CUSTOMER and discuss next steps. But now we are in the middle of moving...we are states away while our cars sit at a family member's house...unsure whether this company gives a fuck. Roadrunner doesn't prioritize customer service in that they expected me to be okay with leaving my car + keys with someone else when I flew out of San Diego to relocate to a new city. In our situation, we were quoted a figure, then a week out were told that an addition $400 was required due to being on a low-used route. Then, 72 hours out, an additional $150 was required by the driver. We asked to be removed from the "board" which is a forum where vendors and drivers see the value placed. We decided not to go with this company, yet they kept us posted on the board which prevented us from getting a more fair quote due to the higher-valued posting from this company. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. I was trying to find the best possible deal and company for shipping my car from Illinois to Arizona. After looking around and getting quotes, RoadRunner had the cheapest deal. I had received an email with my quote and then received a call from a man named Matthew from RoadRunner-I assume he was a salesman. I expressed that I was on a time crunch and needed my car picked up on 12/22/17 and delivered by 12/30/17 the latest. He said that he could arrange for that to happen even though it was during the holiday season. After talking with Matthew, I booked my shipment on 12/11/17. Weeks go by and my car is supposed to be picked up in a few days and I still hadn't received any information regarding what company would be picking up and transporting my car, as well as what date and time. When I would call customer service, they would just say, "We are working on it. We will let you know when we know". I end up calling customer service the next few days to just get the same response. One of the days, no one was even working. Matthew who was so eager to get me to book, never responded to any of my voicemails after I booked. Long story short, car never got picked up. I ended up going with another company that was able to pick up my car a day after I got in contact with them and now my car is safely with me I'm Arizona. The day before my flight to Arizona, I get a call from a man from RoadRunner telling me they have someone who could pick my car up the next day. I tell him that I cancelled days ago and went with a different company. He said, "Yes I see that you cancelled but I just wanted to make sure you for sure wanted to cancel with us". Ugh. Pick up was fine. Delivery was late and at 11:45pm in a dark parking lot. Probably so we couldn't see the extensive damage to the paint. Deep scratches to the trunk, hood, top and all down the driver side. We bought the insurance when we scheduled the pickup. Filed a claim, took pictures, got all the quotes requested by the claims department. $6,000 worth of damage to our 2020 Toyota. It's been "under review" for 4 weeks now. At the time I did not mind because I just needed to get the shipped, now I wish I gave more push back. I shipped my car from MA to CA. There was no live tracking, the date stated upon picking up the car to ship to CA was that it would be delivered the next Friday. Tuesday I'm at the first day of my new job and I receive multiple missed calls from the driver trying to deliver my car. Luckily I had put my friend down as back up but she had to rearrange her schedule and with her two young children go meet the driver because the driver would not/ could not deliver to her house. This was not communicated to me on booking. When I called the customer service department to inform them about all that had happened they told me there was nothing they could do. I'm disappointed that I did not check Yelp first before booking. Seeing all these negative reviews and knowing they are all true is so frustrating. Use another company that actually respects and listens to their customers. read more
