Here is what you need to know if you book with them: expect wildly inconsistent customer service. The Good (Initial Booking): I booked transport from AZ to TX while traveling overseas. On Monday, I received an email warning of potential delays. I called from my overseas number, and the representative was incredibly professional. She explained the shipper's price had increased; I immediately agreed and paid the difference. Because I was overseas, she verified my identity using my file information (since my phone number didn't match), and I explicitly authorized my wife in TX as the primary contact for delivery details. I received a booking confirmation and went to sleep satisfied. The Breakdown (Communication Failures): Despite having everything confirmed, my wife started receiving redundant text messages asking to confirm the exact details we had already finalized. I also started getting duplicate emails. The Unacceptable (Customer Service Nightmare): I called RoadRunner to ensure our transport was still on track. This is where the wheels completely fell off. Even though I was calling the exact same call center with the exact same details as Monday night, two separate representatives flat-out refused to discuss my shipment because I wasn't calling from the phone number on file. When I asked the second representative to escalate my call to a supervisor, she hung up on me. I called back, got the same representative, and she hung up on me a second time. I had to call a third time just to find a representative willing to actually look at my file and discuss my shipment. The Saving Grace: Shortly after that nightmare, I spoke to a final representative (around 1:00 PM EST out of Bethpage, NY). She was incredibly helpful, genuinely cared about fixing the situation, and single-handedly saved this transaction--and this review rating. The Verdict: RoadRunner got the job done, and they have some fantastic employees. However, their internal communication is broken, and some of their call center staff are incredibly unprofessional. Calling them by phone was no help either because the operators do not have the ability to provide any meaningful updates. All I heard was, "Your shipment is in progress." Bottom line: My scheduled pick up was May 26th. Today is May 29th and no carrier had been assigned to pick up my vehicle. The customer account specialist was unable to provide any help, but to cancel my booking. Save yourself the hassle and choose another booking company. RoadRunner Auto is unreliable.

I was even told they couldn't find a carrier in my area that could transport my car from Florida to California. After my experience, that clearly wasn't the case. I found out about Number One Auto Transport on Reddit after I saw some great reviews and filled out a form on their site Thursday night. On Friday morning James gave me a call (JAMES YOURE THE BEST!!!) & not even an hour after speaking with him, they had already found a carrier for me. They got to work immediately after our phone call, and my car was picked up that Monday (I first spoke with James on Friday). Since this was my first time shipping a vehicle, James took the time to explain exactly how the process works, listened to my situation, answered all of my questions honestly, and found me a great price (and locked in a carrier super fast). I never felt pressured or misled, I just felt genuinely taken care of. The carrier was fantastic, and both the company and the carrier were professional, responsive, and communicative throughout the entire process. My car arrived from Florida to California in perfect condition, exactly as it was when it left. After my experience with the other "big" company, i was really hesitant about putting trust into another company, but I'm glad i trusted this company. Issues were threefold: - Eric basically represented and used a facility that does its own direct auto transport. When questioned (because they were cheaper) he highlighted his business as better due to a number of factors. None of these ended up coming to fruition. - the Rando he got to transport my car was horrible. Lack of communication or updates. Ended up delivering the car two or three days later than promised (meaning I missed being able to inspect the car). And throughout the process was full of lies regarding arrival time and why he wasn't delivering on time. - car was damaged during transport but because I was out of town for 2 months after the fact and wasn't able to confirm and share this with Eric (because it was delivered late) I had no recourse for costs to fix the damage. - finally, In reviewing his end of year books, Eric got confused about a voided transaction (I had been charged twice initially and there was a void in his books). He assumed that it was me doing it due to my dissatisfaction and charged my credit card again without confirming the issue with me. He left messages while I was in a meeting and then charged my card without confirming. When I called, he apologized for his angry action but for someone who highlights professionalism amongst his traits, I feel this was way out of line.
