Do not use RoadRunner Auto Transport! Their job is to book carriers to ship your vehicle. I submitted a quote for my vehicle shipment about a month in advance of my move. They reached out to me quite often through email and phone to notify that they can provide the transport for me. They seemed competent, like they really cared. Boy was I wrong. I was shopping around other services and RR was the cheapest. So I booked a vehicle shipment. Once booked, all human communication from RR was through automated emails. The only time they called me after I paid was to inform that they'll charge an extra $200. My scheduled shipment date was that week and I fly out the day after so I had to accept it. The morning of my shipment, an automated email was sent indicating that a carrier will call me 2-4 hours before they arrive to my location. Ah, perfect right? Wrong! No one called, no one showed up. The carrier number they provided had no one answering either. I left many voicemails but no one called back. Once dusk arrived, I didn't know if I should stay up and wait for the carrier or just go to bed. I had to cancel my flight the next day, and tried calling the carrier again but using the number that Google listed. Someone actually answered this time. The phone number RR provided me was wrong. But worst of all, the carrier said my order doesn't exist and they never received notification from RR. I've been scammed. I called RR and they said that they did notify the carrier and will call me back once they get a hold of the driver. They likely won't call me back so I asked for a refund and booked another carrier. The new service did an amazing job! I should've gone with them first. Got my car shipped in just a couple days. I was able to make my re-booked flight and reunited with my vehicle a few days later. RoadRunner is a scam. They likely never booked a carrier for me and lied that they did just to receive my payment. And when calling RR, my phone lists their location as "Unknown". Who knows where they operate from. Upon reading their reviews, it was shocking how similar other peoples' horrible experiences were to mine. Please, don't use their service! I should have read their reviews beforehand. It was no wonder why their service was cheaper, because it isn't real, just used as bait. Don't do what I did, don't book RoadRunner. If you're in SoCal, use Hilton Auto Transport! They're amazing. read more

They promised me same day delivery even though that was impossible. Two days later I have decided to drive my car the 200 miles I need it shipped, so I have done so. I have been on the phone 10 hours each day trying to reach someone to cancel it since it looks likely to never be assigned a carrier. luckily I am now outside the window where they would charge me $135 for canceling, that is if they ever pick up. Once again I made a reservation with roadrunner to pick up my wife's car and transport it to our new home. After speaking with "Nick Pomo Roman" on the phone and being assured that if I placed my order for Thursday pickup, that the car would be picked up by Friday evening at the latest. It is now Thursday and we have not heard anything. Just one month ago I shipped my car and had the same problem with Roadrunner. After being assured that my timing needs would be accommodated when pickup day came nobody showed up until late the next evening, even worse nobody called me to let me know even when I was told that they would call ahead of time if they were going to be late. Now we are having the exact same issue. I called Roadrunner and now I'm being told pickup might not be until Saturday! After I was assured this wouldn't happen to me again. I even emailed Nick Pomo Roman this morning, who was the salesman that assured me pickup would be no later than Friday, and low and behold he is yet to respond to me. My wife is flying out of town tomorrow night and if the car is not picked up I don't know what we will do. I would never want someone to have to handle this sort of ordeal while already having the added stress of a move. Their representatives are quick to call you for your business but never answer after they made the sale. My rep Philip assured me since I made the appointment early that my pickup time would be met. Here we are the day it is supposed to be picked up and a carrier still hasn't been assigned for the job. I've called and left 3-4 messages and I have yet to receive a call back from Philip. The online costumer service just makes excuses and I bet their response to this review will be the copy and paste cliche response "we are sorry, covid this and seasonal that" I'm paying $1,500 for your service the least you can do is give me a call back to assure me things are still in motion. Genuinely the worst services I have ever paid for in my entire life. Customer service people were very friendly but ultimately never had any updates for me whatsoever. My car was 3 days late being picked up. When it was picked up the carrier tried to hustle me for tips because I had one single suitcase in the back seat (you are allowed to ship up to 100 pounds within the vehicle). He showed up at midnight, woke up the entire neighborhood shuffling the cars around, then refused to load mine onto the carrier until the car was completely and totally empty. Upon dropping the car off, I was never told the car would be delivered to my by a "local driver" and not on the carrier. So a total stranger was driving my car around for who knows how many miles because they never put the mileage on their form upon picking up my car. Not to mention the fast food trash I found in my car. Completely disgusted they let someone drive my car around and that that person felt comfortable enough to EAT IN IT at the same time. Terrible customer service - I booked a pickup two months in advance, and attempted to follow up multiple times the week before my ready date. I called repeatedly but was never able to speak to anyone, and the automated text service wasn't able to answer any of my questions. There was no communication leading up to or on my pickup date. I understand the pickup date is just a window, but this was not communicated and the chat service couldn't even confirm my car would be picked up in the next two weeks. Beyond disappointed with Roadrunner. Called their service number three times on a Thursday at 4 pm, well within their business hours and no response. On 4-21-2021, I specifically said that I would not be available to pick up my car until 5-2-2021. The representative said no problem and that they would arrive the delivery with this in mind. I have the transcript / record of this conversation as well. Today (4-29-2021) I got a call saying that my car has already arrived at its destination, a full FOUR days before my expected delivery date. The auto transport company was never told that I would not arrive until 5-2-2021! This has caused a tremendous amount of stress for me and my friends and family and this lack of communication may cause me over a hundred dollars in parking fees. To potential customers, beware. Once they get your money, communication is nonexistent. Be sure to consider the potential problems that this company might cause before you book with them. You had one job Roadrunner - be the middle man between me and the auto transport company - and clearly, this was a failed job. Beyond disappointed in this service. EDIT: Spoke with Roadrunner agent extension #595. This conversation made me even more disappointed than I was when I wrote this review. The agent was unsympathetic, defensive, and said that he could not and would not do a thing about what happened. He even laughed in my face when I spoke to him about my concerns. I've worked in customer service before and this is not how you treat a customer. He did not do a thing to help me in my situation and all I was a "why would you complain about your car arriving early? No one has ever complained about that." Not the point Roadrunner, my problem was the lack of communication to the auto transport company. Finally, he ended the call with, "this conversation is going nowhere, so I'm going to end the call". By far the worst car transport service. To start I spoke to "Nick ________" who promised me that my car could be picked up in a weeks time. He told me I would receive a phone call later in the week to confirm the driver. As it became closer to the promised pick up date, I called Nick to confirm the status and he never picked up or returned any of my voicemails (as I began to call each day). It became very apparent that he was screening my calls. From there I began reaching out to the customer service line which would state "we are experiencing a high volume of customers at this time" and would keep me on hold for about 5 minutes until it automatically hung up. Once I did get through, the customer service representatives were extremely disrespectful and no help at all. I noticed a trend as I began calling everyday once the date passed of the promised pick up. They would become more and more disrespectful as if I was wasting their time. Finally a week later after my promised pick up date, I received a call stating that the driver has been confirmed and that it will cost me an additional $350 due to the vehicle being in an area "not close to a highway". This could have been identified in the original quote instead of scamming people to sign up for their service on a specific quote and then dangling the carrot in their face, with the scheduled driver and saying "oh it'll cost you more if you really want it". The location of the pick up never changed and they could have given me the actual quote at the very beginning. Terrible service, their website is all a lie and I highly doubt they moved all the "celebrities" that they claim on their page. Put a tile tracker or GPS tracker in your vehicle so you will know its location bc you can't depend on Road Runner for up to date and honest information . So I postponed my flight rescheduled for 3 days later then was told 6 more days by Umbrella Transport, yes Road Runner is a broker and gave the job to Umbrella Auto Transport. According to Umbrella Their truck broke down in Tennesse and then in Arkansas and with no one to fix it, because of the "weekend". I wanted to drive & meet the truck...... I could drive 5 hours to get my Vehicle and drive the rest.......they said No, they have no way to remove my vehicle from the broken down truck......they said it would add 6 days.....Cmon ! Roadrunner made it easy to book my vehicle's shipment from California to Washington, DC. Like many other reviewers mentioned, Roadrunner quoted me a lower price on the website than they quoted in the follow-up phone call to book the shipment ($1,400 vs. $1,800). But because I was booking well in advance, I didn't feel backed into a corner, and the higher price still seemed reasonable for the amount of miles my car had to be transported. The carrier that Roadrunner booked for me--Transauto Logistics--was absolutely excellent, and I am writing a separate review for them. Next time I have to ship a vehicle, I think I will try to book with a carrier directly instead of using a broker like Roadrunner, but all in all, I had a pretty good experience. read more

I don't typically post reviews on line but given the situation with RoadRunner I am compelled to make others aware of my customer experience. RoadRunner, through a 3rd party contractor (I assume), picked up my car in Oregon with an estimated delivery date of January 12th in Texas. On the 12th, I called RoadRunner just to get a status and they gave me the usual the carrier will call with a 3 hour window when they are going to deliver. They then called back and said the carrier had a break down but everything was addressed and my car would be delivered on January 16th. On January 16th, I called RoadRunner again to get a status. They put me on hold for a few minutes and when they came back they said the carrier had picked up 2 identical vehicles and unfortunately mine had been delivered to Maryland. Not sure what was said next but ultimately they said they were trying to find a carrier to deliver my car to Texas and they would call me when that was arranged. Then I got an email notification that a carrier named Manny's Towing was scheduled to deliver my car on January 22nd. I am a first time customer of auto shipping so maybe some of this is to be expected but it does not inspire confidence in this process, RoadRunner or their customer service capabilities. I fully understand mistakes get made and things happen and when they do the quality of a company's customer service and responsiveness is tested and shows through. Some things for any potential customers and for RoadRunner to consider: 1. If I had not called on January 12th, when was I going to find out about the situation? 2. Was the 'break down' real or just an excuse to get me to go away? 3. If I had not called on January 16th, when was I going to find out about the Maryland situation? 4. Will I ever get my car and I wonder what condition my car is in now and what it will be when I get it? 5. Is the carrier delivering my car reputable or strictly a money saving move on RoadRunners part now that the situation has to be fixed? 6. The identical car excuse does not hold water because when they picked my car they mistakenly recorded it as 2007 model going to Maryland, mine is a 2019 model. They electronically sent me a corrected notification but apparently it was not fixed in the carrier's system 7. When I called, the customer service reps were polite and friendly but offered no real helpful solutions and certainly did not offer to "make things right" These are just a few things to highlight what goes through a customer's mind when some like this occurs. In my experience, high-quality proactive customer service is one that reaches out to the customer when issue occurs, offers real and accurate information, commits to make it right, offers options to the customer and follows-up until the situation is rectified. Other than basic email notifications, none of the above has occurred. Although this is my first experience shipping a car, it won't be my last. I intend to ship a car twice a year at a minimum. At this point, it won't be with RoadRunner. I have also been asked by at least one other person for recommendations, you can assume what my response will be. Absolutely some of the worst customer service I've ever received. HORRIBLE communication! More details below. If you're looking for an Auto Transport Broker, lookup Guardian Auto Transport. You won't be disappointed... When called Roadrunner, the sales department didn't hesitate to promise me the world and assure me that everything would be taken care of. Everything changed after I provided them with a credit card. When a carrier was available I didn't receive a call but a text message instead with a number I had to call to confirm and that number rings for two minutes then goes into a voicemail and no one calls back. I had to call the main 800 number just to get in touch with someone and even that didn't always work. The first carrier cancelled 5 minutes before pickup. No one called to inform me, I had to call them seeking an update. The next morning another carrier was assigned. Same process to confirm, same voicemail, and yes, same end result. The second carrier cancelled within 5 minutes of being assigned, and again, no one called me to let me know what was going on. It wasn't until 2 hours later when I called in to find out what was going on that I was informed that they were still looking for a carrier. Later that afternoon a called to cancel my shipment with them and was told the "cancellation department" would call or email by end of day. That never happened. It wasn't until after I got another "Hey we found a carrier, hurry up and call us back so you can leave us another voicemail that we will ignore" text message the following morning that the supposed "cancellation department" actually called and they were eager to tell me they had a carrier availably who would deliver me vehicle on Monday (three days later than what I needed) and asked if I still wanted to cancel... I polymer informed them that my vehicle was already on a trailer on its way with another carrier. When they realized they weren't getting my money they quickly hung up. Short story long, DO NOT do business with these people. They do not take care of their customers and they are not available or accessible when you are trying to communicate with them. Shipping a vehicle is a stressful situation as it is because you're relying completely on someone else to take care of all of the details and you have very little control of anything. Dealing with a company who keeps you in the dark makes that process even more stressful. Work with a company (like Guardian) who will communicate with you every step of the way and who will treat you like you are their top priority. read more

Absolute worst experience. I understand dates are "estimated" but people have schedules, people have jobs and lives. Pick up date was scheduled for a Monday. I receive no confirmation other than the email confirmation. Around Monday at noon I call the company to confirm that we are still doing a pickup for Monday. They confirm that the car will still be picked up. Around 5pm the car has still hasn't been picked up so I call and they tell me (again) that they cannot give me a time but I am still scheduled for pick up, it is between 9am-9pm and to just keep waiting. 8pm rolls around and I finally get a call that its not going to happen today, so we schedule it for the next day. The next day, we wait around all day but at least it gets picked up! Drop off, I take off work to wait for the car. Again, another 9a-9p window. I contact Roadrunner around 12 to make sure we are still on for drop off today, they confirmed. At 4:30 I get a call from the driver that he is a day and a half behind and that he doesn't know when he will be there with the car. I contact RoadRunner, get transferred around numerous times and get some of the worst customer service. Again, I realize its a window, but I think when I called at 12 and asked, instead of just assuming, that would have been a good time to actually contact the driver to confirm he was on schedule instead of wasting my day. At one point the rep asked me "Well what do you want to do at this point?" **UPDATE 2/22** Called RoadRunner for 3 hours yesterday after my car still had not arrived and I had not heard from them all day. They would not give me an update on where my car is. They were 'contacting' dispatch and would call me back. Never did. They were supposed to be open until 8pm, I called at 7pm and got a voice recording that they were closed for the night. Is my car lost? Is it stolen? Who knows, because I cant get a call back from Roadrunner. I understand you don't care about customer service, but don't make it so apparent. read more

This was my first, and last, time having a vehicle shipped. I have a 2005 H2 that broke down in TN. I had the vehicle fixed at a major repair facility, but it took so long to get parts that I had to return home to MN. I booked my shipment on 10/3/2023 with a pickup date of 10/4/2023 and a delivery date of 10/6/2023. I thought the price was great and the shipping time was reasonable. They quickly assigned my vehicle to a shipper and it was picked up on time on 10/4/2023, and I was charged. Than began the issues. 10/6/2023 came and went and neither the shipper, or Road Runner, bothered to contact me about a shipping delay. I had to call Road Runner the next day and after a 35 minute hold was told "there was a delay and it will be delivered on 10/10/2023." Well it's now past their "guaranteed delivery window" of by 9 PM on 10/10/2023 and I have been on hold for 2 hour and 1 minutes on their customer support line. I have yet to speak to a person. I decided to hang up and will have to try again on 10/11/2023. I have not heard from Road Runner and I have also not heard from the shipper about the status of my vehicle. Yet another delivery date guaranteed and missed. Their real time tracking is NOT real time. It just says it was picked up and still says it is pending delivery on 10/06/2023. I cannot get them to give me any information about the carrier, or my vehicle location. When asking about how I can contact the carrier I am told the drivers change after each stop. Ok, I get it. But they won't even tell me what the name of the Carrier Company is that is shipping my car. I also want to mention their phone support is hot garbage. During normal business hours you have to sit on hold for 20-40 minutes before someone answers. After 5 PM? Good luck. I have been on hold for over TWO HOURS waiting to talk to someone for a status update on my vehicle. I gave up,and decided to call in the morning on 10/11/2023. For a company that is open until 9 PM CST for customer service calls they never answer the phone after 5 PM (I was on hold from 6 PM until 8 PM). Also, their "online support" never has anyone online for you to talk to. What a joke. I forgot to mention that I did ask if there was any compensation for the messed up delivery, after the first time. I was told "Unfortunately, because it does state in the terms of service-#9 dates are not guaranteed and they are estimated. Unfortunately, there is no compensation or refunds regarding this matter since it is stated in the signed terms we received." I will ask again as they have now missed a second delivery date. Avoid Road Runner Auto Transport at all costs. Sure they are reasonably priced, but they do not care about the customer once they have the shipment assigned to a shipper. Never again. 1. Picked up on time on 10/4/2023 in TN. 2. Delivery to MN on 10/6/2023 was missed by carrier, no communication from anyone about why it was missed. I agreed and 3 days prior to pickup they called with a new pickup date and raised the price over $300. with 3 days to go It was too late for me to use the other transport companies I got quotes from. Additionally the hold times to get through to service were over 30 minutes the 2 times I called. They emailed me my credit card wasnt working. It was because Roadrunner used the pickup address and not my actual home address for the charge. Roadrunners billing agent never returned my calls so I emailed her with that error they made and I saw the bill went through. Not even a return email to let me know. If there were a rating lower than one star, this would be the most deserving business for it. I needed my newly purchased car shipped from Philadelphia, PA to San Francisco, CA. This was not going to be cheap and I needed to have the utmost faith in the company handling shipping. I contacted RoadRunner Auto Transport and was immediately in touch with Kristian Hallbert, apparently responsible for sales during the 30 minutes he works all week. He was quick to return calls, answer emails and be sure everything was set to plan. However, once I paid for the service prior to shipment, that was literally the end of all communication. Crickets. Tumbleweed. Silence. No returned calls. No returned emails. All of the customer service reps, after hours of waiting on hold or online, had absolutely no updates on the shipping days prior, during pickup, in transit or on delivery. Luckily the dealership was able to get the driver's name and phone number, and I had to coordinate with him directly. The only updates I received were from the driver directly via phone call and text -- this was a huge help, as the arrival time changed and RoadRunner had no idea whatsoever of the status the entire time. RoadRunner stopped being involved or caring about the transport immediately after payment and not once confirmed any part of the process, despite promising that and after I requested updates multiple times. In the end, the car arrived safely without a scratch. I attribute that to the driver and not the broker, RoadRunner. TL;DR: Avoid at all costs if you expect any kind of customer service and support. This was stressful and absolutely avoidable for such a service and I would never, ever consider dealing with them again. read more

They finally called me today (a day late) and said they can pick up tomorrow. I booked this week's in advance because I'm active duty coast guard and can't just do things as I please. Very, very frustrating, oh and now they're charging me several hundred dollars more than initially quoted. Virtually nonexistent customer service. This is not my first time shipping a vehicle. I was worried but EVERYTHING went PERFECT!! Before booking with Roadrunner, I had a very bad experience with another company the previous week. So bad that I may lose a $200 "deposit" but wasn't about to send any more money or trust them with our car. So I was very weary and honestly almost every company I looked up had a lot of negative reviews. So you feel like you don't know what to believe or who to choose. And even after you make a decision, you still are worried the whole time wondering if it will go well or if you'll be one of those unhappy customers. Well, I'm happy to say that it couldn't have gone more perfect! Started with a quote from Cameron about a month before. When I was ready, the price was still what he quoted. No deposit was required and he let me know that was how reputable companies operated. I was kept up to date and although it is difficult to get someone on the phone, I used the "online support" and always got help within minutes and a phone call when it was really needed. I wasn't sure at first, about how that would work but was extremely happy how quick they responded on there multiple times. Then the actual carrier called the day before and then a warning call when he was headed our way, all on the planned day. He was awesome (Ion) and our car was delivered on the estimated day. So it just went as good as it could possibly go and we are very happy, would definitely call Roadrunner again if we ever need transport in the future. Thanks guys!! read more
