Its all good until you book wish I could leave no start for this HORRIBLE company. When I was searching and getting thousands of calls for other booking agents I decided based on the reviews (should have checked yelp silly me) the safest and most reliable auto shipper for my car to go from Louisiana to California. Timothy was my agent and he did a very good job in "securing the deal" he answered all my questions and made sure I felt secure and assured the earliest time that should be available so my car would be to me before I started work. It took a few days for me to decided I was moving with a friend and he still was ready to help me later. I knew the cost would be cheap and fearful of having my car damaged I opted in for the $200 insurance. The trouble started after I gave my card and the shipment was booked. For I didn't know how long it would take to update sure enough 2 days before my car was scheduled to be picked up I was assigned a carrier. The day before pickup I reached out to my agent and never received an email for I had a number call and text to ask to pick up the vehicle a day earlier. Phone rang and this time I couldn't reach his ext. After many failed attempts I sent two emails on two separate occasions to be ignored "how lovely". On pick up day early that morning around 7:56 am I received an automated email and text stating my car was scheduled to be picked up in the event that was not possible I would be notified as soon as possible. After waiting around all day frustrated I suddenly realized it was around 4:00 pm that evening I decide to leave my home for it would be later that evening before I heard anything at that point. 6 o'clock rolled around and I still hadn't heard anything putting me outside the 2-3 courtesy call. I then reached out to customer service which was busy and never picked up the phone just like my booking agent Timothy. When I submitted a chat request It was practically ignored with the unanswered question from the shipping specialist Ashley she gave me the same textbook response of my car is scheduled today the carrier pickups around 9Am- 9pm that I could have read online or my email. FYI the chat isn't online its just the same random pictures and names that rotate every time you login in the morning ONLY.Being that chat was obviously closed to me since it was after hours when they clearly have hours of 9am-10pm. My chat was submitted and I asked for the name or number of my carrier company so that I would be able to reach out directly to get a pickup time. When I replied to the email stating that it being 7pm would put us outside of that timeframe for pick up. I didn't receive an email until the following morning with a new agent assuring that they would reach out to my driver and have them contact me. My driver did amazing Hats off to the company BIG FUCK YOU to roadrunner. So just a little more information while booking I was told that it isn't a door to door with my area and after much research and others reviews nobody is. Depending on where you live the 18 wheeler will not be able to reach you (so plan well don't plan for I hope you don't use roadrunner). I asked my driver Zach tons of questions being that my vehicle was picked up and I wanted to be assured it would still be delivered the following Thursday 8/12/21. The company that delivered my car was AMAZING even had the car ready a day earlier so if you can search around because I know now I will. Overall I do not recommend this company to ANYBODY for anything if you kind find a local company in your area to hotshot your car do that instead of using a broker agent. read more

The week before I spent 3 days trying to get someone on the phone, lines where not even working. Then they told me that they did not guaranteed to be able to pick my cars up the date I booked them for (Nov 15th) they suggested Saturday Nov 12th. And that I needed to wait 3 days to get a carrier!! Saturday came and no one was answering their phone, emails and no carrier was confirmed!! Now I needed to ship another car from NY to TX but I decided to try RoadRunner since I saw a lot of their trucks in TX. I thought, it would be a better experience since this is a larger company with lots of experience. ABSOLUTELY NOT.... my carrier was confirmed 2 days ahead of the estimated pick up time and the price increased by 400 dollars.... Yes... I paid more than 1700 dollars to get my car from NY to TX. But I needed it that week and was basically FORCED to choose them because it's 2 days before I need to get my car transported...... I thought, you know what, let's trust these guys since they are a big company. I was SO WRONG..... SO WRONG...... the carrier from Troup trucking company (or I call them trash trucking company), delayed the transport by 4 days because their truck broke down..... and then during the transport proceed to have another 'mechanical issue' effectively delaying my transport by more than 10 days..... The carrier is absolute TRASH. Unresponsive, and when they did respond, they were disrespectful to me and my time... I WILL NEVER EVER book this company EVER AGAIN. and also my friends will NOT book this company. She started this phone call with, " so you have been writing these reviews." Immediately I knew that this company did not care about my experience and only about their reputation. Then I told her that I've saved ALL text messages and call logs about my contact with the carrier as well as multiple complaint emails submitted through their website and chat logs from their website. She could not say anything more. What type of company calls a customer to accuse them of lying. Thankfully she eventually stopped accusing me of lying but only when I was on the verge of tears! My interaction with this company has been toxic, unprofessional and just a complete nightmare. I will NOT be submitting a damage claim (my trunk is unable to be opened) because I want nothing to do with this company any longer. I've suffered enough damage from this. Enough is enough. This is the worst Company I have ever experienced. I was contacted frequently during the payment process however, once they received my money the Company became almost impossible to reach. They did NOT show up on the scheduled day nor did they contact me to inform me that the timeline was delayed/ shifted. When I attempted to contact the customer support line, the dispatch number and the main phone line no one answered or responded to my emails. When I did reach someone on a completely different day after my vehicle still had NOT been transported the representative on the phone was rude and annoyed that she had to look into where the disconnect had taken place between their dispatch team and the movers (which I later found out have a trend of not sticking to the scheduled bookings and don't reach out to customers like they are supposed to). The way I see it this company only cares about taking your money and then slow rolls you on your transportation for when they "get around to it". This delay significantly impacted my move across the country. Companies like this should be investigated and shut down. -signed a victim of their failure UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE it is now 6pm the following day which was the rescheduled time for my car to be picked up and yet it still has not been picked up for transport. This Company owes me a full refund. Their owner manager I'm assuming calls me with an attitude about my previous yelp review above but then fails to ensure my car gets shipped yet again. The worst part in all of this is every phone number that I have with this Company was called at least 10 times and no one picked up. I gave them 3 chances to make it right. - Advertise as if they deliver cars and it's all clean and professional. We booked the transport of our pick up truck 6 weeks in advance. The day before the truck was to be picked up we received an email stating the date had been changed to the next day. That was a slight problem for us, but then the next day we received another email stating that the pick up would be another day later. This was a problem for us as we had to be at the pick up location to meet other companies. We could not wait any longer for the matter to be finalized and now we are stuck to work our the transport of the truck at a later date. This is unacceptable. If they cannot provide a service then they should not be in business. Also, our credit card was charged well in advance of the first pickup date so there should have been not changes. read more

The absolute worst transport company in existence. they damaged my very rare collectible car while transporting it between California and New York and then tried to cover it up by bringing it to a body shop who did a horrendous job. They called and said my car would be delayed and then when eventually time came to deliver the car I told them I would not be home and it would have to be the next day. Well, they showed up and rang a neighbors doorbell and had them sign and left the damaged car in my driveway. When I caught them, they admitted it in a email, but then said they weren't going to pay my claim even though I took the $15,000 extra insurance. Then I was told that if I provided 2 estimates they would pay to repair the botch job that they did to try and hide the damage that they did to my car ( keep in mind this was without my knowledge or permission ). After I provided the estimates they said that they were too expensive and that they would not pay. after a weeks worth of unanswered, phone calls and emails to the company I was forced to file a claim with my own insurance company who will litigate against them for reimbursement. Suffice it to say that over the weekend while I was waiting for Road Runner to pick up my new car, I stumbled upon these Yelp reviews and was terrified. That said, my experience was nothing like the 1 and 2 star reviews I read in this thread. I was very pleased with the service I received from RoadRunner Auto Transport in shipping my new car from Chicago to Metro DC. I made a reservation with a competing firm Wednesday October 27, and was told my car wouldn't be picked up until November 6 - nine days later. As a result, I canceled the reservation with the other company, booked with RoadRunner Thursday October 28 and was told a driver would be at the dealership to pick it up the following day. Sure enough, the driver with whom RoadRunner contracted was there when he said, but the car wasn't ready, so the driver was unable to pick it up. RoadRunner and the dealership reached back to me to apologize for the delay and told me the car would be picked up Monday. The driver returned to the dealership Monday afternoon November 1 and I had my new car by 1 p.m. Wednesday November 3 - three days before the other company said my car would be picked up. I've read in these 1 and 2 star reviews that other customers have had trouble getting in touch with RoadRunner's customer service agents, but that was not my experience at all. Every time I called the rep who initially contacted me, he answered within a minute or called me back within a half hour. In addition, two chat agents (including one who contacted the very polite and professional driver who called to me provide his location and an accurate delivery estimate) also responded instantly. I booked in August and was told by the sales man "no problem, we can have the car picked up the 18th of September by 5pm. We just can not give exact delivery date. It can take up to 3 or 4 days". I told him no problem. I need the car picked up the 18th for sure by late afternoon. I have a plane to catch. He said no problem and I booked. Here I am on the 18th of September, no driver assigned, no guarantee of pick up and was told my first call they can not guarantee pick up date look at the contract. WTF? When you call in, you're met with "the most reliable" transport solution. Reliable would be massively overplaying it, I think they missed the 'un' part at the start of it. We moved from California to Illinois and didn't want to drive both cars across so organized to have one shipped. I initially wanted it picked up on a Monday (April 6) and then I'd meet it at my destination on or after April 15. However, I was told that I should make it the Friday instead so that it gets delivered closer to my time. They are the experts apparently so I did what they suggested making sure I clarified it would definitely be picked up because we were starting our drive the next morning. Friday rolls around, no call. I call them to check on the status first thing in the morning (it's on schedule for the day). Not 30 minutes later I get a phone call from the driver telling me he'll be there to pick it up either Saturday evening or Sunday morning. Wonderful, now I'm driving two cars myself and call them to cancel my shipment. Insult into injury they refund only the shipment and not the insurance purchased ontop it. I've tried to contact them numerous times but amazingly every time "I must be transferred to their cancellation department" who seem to never answer their phones. I guess that points to one of two things: 1. They are incompetent and never answer their phones, or 2. They get so many cancelations because their service is so terrible that they aren't able to get back to everyone read more

I originally booked road runner in January for shipping my car in august. I wanted to get ahead of the summer surcharge in prices. As it got within 2 weeks of my pick up date, i continued to call the company to ask about pick up and carrier assignment and my worries that it wouldn't be picked up in time. I called at least 12 times, and at least 5 of those were on the same day. No one ever answered the phone. Within one week of pickup, I sent numerous emails and no one ever responded. So I decided to look at another company, Montly. I called them in a panic about my car not being picked up in time, on the second ring, someone answered the phone and assisted me right way and my car was actually picked up the same day. The man who helped me even gave me his personal direct line to call in case I had any problems at all. 0/10 do not recommend road runner, they are very unresponsive. read more

I made a reservation 6 weeks in advance and told them my car had to be shipped by July 1 when I start work. I was told I would be assigned a carrier within 1-2 days of June 21 so that it would get there on time. I called multiple times a day on June 20-June 23 and was never able to get through to anybody - I was just told due to extremely high call volume I was unable to get through until the line hung up. I finally heard from them on June 23 and was told my car would be picked up on June 25 and would take 7-10 days to get to my destination - and would be $200 over what I was originally quoted. I was told that because of the COVID economy this was the only carrier going out. I told them I was going to call other companies and they told me I wouldn't be able to find anyone else since this was the only trucker going out. Initially, I was very nervous once I booked with this company and then afterwards I saw the Yelp and BBB scores - I figured I made a big mistake but actually the process was pretty straight forward. The car was picked up 2 days after the provided "pickup date" which added to my nervousness, but there was also a lot of snow so I figured weather probably slowed things down. The delivery took place only one day after the original "delivery date" which ended up being fine. When I contacted RoadRunner the day after the initial scheduled pick-up date had come and gone, I was able to reach a representative quickly and she was polite and professional. She sent me an email a few minutes later with an updated pickup date after she spoke with the shipping company. The driver was communicative and quick. The car arrived the same day it was picked up in great condition. Likes: I like that there are a lot of frequent automated emails and texts throughout the process. There is a portal that shows you where the status is of the transaction. The sales rep also called right away when submitting the inquiry online and he was professional and quick. I was assigned a carrier the same day I called. Customer service was quick as well when I inquired about status of the pickup. Opportunity Areas: While a lot of feedback is on missed pickup dates - (which is not truly within the company's control because they are not the drivers - they are a broker), I actually think the biggest opportunity area is communication. If the "estimated" date is missed, it is understandable because the date is estimated, but I think the communication can probably be improved a bit to proactively provide a status so people are not feeling out of control in the process and left wondering when they will get the car or shipment or when somebody will communicate with them or when they can reach a representative. All in all, the process was pretty smooth. read more
