ABSOLUTE JERKS!!!!! I did an online quote to see how much it would be to ship a car I was possibly looking to buy and have it shipped from CA to MN. I got the quote on road runners site and was impressed with the quote but did not click continue with quote just yet since I have not officially purchased the car. An hour later a man from road runner called and asked if I was ready to schedule and when I explained I was just getting a quote to see the price and I haven't even bought the car yet he then got mad at me for wasting his time and not committing right now on a shipping date and then hung up on me. Horrible with scheduling and trying "contact a driver" I was asked too pay a deposit only to be in a bind when it was time for me to move. The intro & scheduling (which they don't say is tentative) went very efficiently. However, No one seemed able to "locate the driver" that was dispatched. Not recommended. I was planning to move my car from LA to Austin before the cities started to lock down(Covid-19). I canceled the service a week before and explained to them the situation but they didn't care and charged me a penalty of $130. Because I didn't want to lose the $130 I called them recently to book the service again and they were suppose to pick up my car 6 days ago but I haven't heard from them and every time I call the machine says they are going to call me back. We shipped a classic car from WA to NH for about $3500 in an enclosed hauler. After not getting matched up with a truck after 1.5 weeks of waiting on Montway, we tried RoadRunner, and we were matched up with a truck in 30 mins. It seemed to be a 3rd party hauler, but that was fine, very typical in this business. They could meet us closer to the big city, not out in our small town. But the driver was nice and loaded it onto a long 2-car trailer hauled by a large pickup truck. He got it across the country in 4 days with no issues, and delivered to our drop-off point. It's very common in this business that you won't get pick and delivery exactly as you want it, you have to take what they can give you, the weather, traffic, and mechanical issues throw things off all the time. read more

Do not use this company. I paid $745 which was most out of all shipping companies that I looked at. Canceled on me 3 times. I purchased a ticket to Chicago to see the car get picked up. They never arrived waited from 8 am till 10 pm. As of today the car is still in Chicago waiting to get picked up. Would not refund nor give me an update when the car will be picked up. So I wasted a day of work, spend additional $450, and now I will be calling my credit card to get the money back. I also paid the airport 24 dollar fee. Plus, lunch and unnecessary dinner total of $50. Then why did you try to charge me even more money today for your mistake? Instead of offering something you charged meI've had this booked since September. Anthony will call you everyday day till you book the transport and he takes your money. After that if you call him and have any issues he will not return your call. Now my car will not start. We are not sure what the hell the drive did to it. Had to call mobile mechanic. We'll see how much on top if everything else this will cost. Alright guys the Mechanic charge me $150 for labor +65 to come out to my house. So this has cost me $739 plus 745. this company is total fraud. they charge you one price and promise you it is an all in cost. once you are a week out from your car being picked up, they will call you back and tell you the pickup date doesn't work for them and the price is doubled now. not to mention the guy on the phone sounded so much like a bot I thought it was a scam. BUYER BEWARE! I requested an online quote from 3 companies, these guys were the highest. I went with somebody else. I told them so, but their phone calls and emails didn't stop weeks after. The last phone call I received, TODAY, I told the guy that I went with somebody else and to stop calling me. He became confrontational to the point I had to hang up on him. 10 minutes later I received am email stating "per our telephone conversation", here's your quote. Its all good until you book wish I could leave no start for this HORRIBLE company. When I was searching and getting thousands of calls for other booking agents I decided based on the reviews (should have checked yelp silly me) the safest and most reliable auto shipper for my car to go from Louisiana to California. Timothy was my agent and he did a very good job in "securing the deal" he answered all my questions and made sure I felt secure and assured the earliest time that should be available so my car would be to me before I started work. It took a few days for me to decided I was moving with a friend and he still was ready to help me later. I knew the cost would be cheap and fearful of having my car damaged I opted in for the $200 insurance. The trouble started after I gave my card and the shipment was booked. For I didn't know how long it would take to update sure enough 2 days before my car was scheduled to be picked up I was assigned a carrier. The day before pickup I reached out to my agent and never received an email for I had a number call and text to ask to pick up the vehicle a day earlier. Phone rang and this time I couldn't reach his ext. After many failed attempts I sent two emails on two separate occasions to be ignored "how lovely". On pick up day early that morning around 7:56 am I received an automated email and text stating my car was scheduled to be picked up in the event that was not possible I would be notified as soon as possible. After waiting around all day frustrated I suddenly realized it was around 4:00 pm that evening I decide to leave my home for it would be later that evening before I heard anything at that point. 6 o'clock rolled around and I still hadn't heard anything putting me outside the 2-3 courtesy call. I then reached out to customer service which was busy and never picked up the phone just like my booking agent Timothy. When I submitted a chat request It was practically ignored with the unanswered question from the shipping specialist Ashley she gave me the same textbook response of my car is scheduled today the carrier pickups around 9Am- 9pm that I could have read online or my email. FYI the chat isn't online its just the same random pictures and names that rotate every time you login in the morning ONLY.Being that chat was obviously closed to me since it was after hours when they clearly have hours of 9am-10pm. My chat was submitted and I asked for the name or number of my carrier company so that I would be able to reach out directly to get a pickup time. When I replied to the email stating that it being 7pm would put us outside of that timeframe for pick up. I didn't receive an email until the following morning with a new agent assuring that they would reach out to my driver and have them contact me. My driver did amazing Hats off to the company BIG FUCK YOU to roadrunner. So just a little more information while booking I was told that it isn't a door to door with my area and after much research and others reviews nobody is. Depending on where you live the 18 wheeler will not be able to reach you (so plan well don't plan for I hope you don't use roadrunner). I asked my driver Zach tons of questions being that my vehicle was picked up and I wanted to be assured it would still be delivered the following Thursday 8/12/21. The company that delivered my car was AMAZING even had the car ready a day earlier so if you can search around because I know now I will. Overall I do not recommend this company to ANYBODY for anything if you kind find a local company in your area to hotshot your car do that instead of using a broker agent. read more

This company was awful. They started off with great communication until I signed an agreement then everything changed. They do not update their customers on the status of their courier assignment. I waited days to find out IF my car would be picked up on the date agreed upon. whenever I called you get placed on hold for 20 minutes. They then will tell you they are working on assigning a driver.. when a driver was found they added 400 dollars to the agreed upon price. i agreed upon the price increase bc my son really needed the car for school. The day the car was supposed to be picked up which was well past the agreed upon initial date I got an email saying the driver can't do it for unforeseen circumstances. But I needed it that week and was basically FORCED to choose them because it's 2 days before I need to get my car transported...... I thought, you know what, let's trust these guys since they are a big company. I was SO WRONG..... SO WRONG...... the carrier from Troup trucking company (or I call them trash trucking company), delayed the transport by 4 days because their truck broke down..... and then during the transport proceed to have another 'mechanical issue' effectively delaying my transport by more than 10 days..... They promised me same day delivery even though that was impossible. Two days later I have decided to drive my car the 200 miles I need it shipped, so I have done so. I have been on the phone 10 hours each day trying to reach someone to cancel it since it looks likely to never be assigned a carrier. luckily I am now outside the window where they would charge me $135 for canceling, that is if they ever pick up. We booked the transport of our pick up truck 6 weeks in advance. The day before the truck was to be picked up we received an email stating the date had been changed to the next day. That was a slight problem for us, but then the next day we received another email stating that the pick up would be another day later. This was a problem for us as we had to be at the pick up location to meet other companies. We could not wait any longer for the matter to be finalized and now we are stuck to work our the transport of the truck at a later date. This is unacceptable. If they cannot provide a service then they should not be in business. Also, our credit card was charged well in advance of the first pickup date so there should have been not changes. read more

We were told that the car will be picked up after 3 days and there will be $200 extra than the original quote. Suffice it to say that over the weekend while I was waiting for Road Runner to pick up my new car, I stumbled upon these Yelp reviews and was terrified. That said, my experience was nothing like the 1 and 2 star reviews I read in this thread. I was very pleased with the service I received from RoadRunner Auto Transport in shipping my new car from Chicago to Metro DC. I made a reservation with a competing firm Wednesday October 27, and was told my car wouldn't be picked up until November 6 - nine days later. As a result, I canceled the reservation with the other company, booked with RoadRunner Thursday October 28 and was told a driver would be at the dealership to pick it up the following day. Sure enough, the driver with whom RoadRunner contracted was there when he said, but the car wasn't ready, so the driver was unable to pick it up. RoadRunner and the dealership reached back to me to apologize for the delay and told me the car would be picked up Monday. The driver returned to the dealership Monday afternoon November 1 and I had my new car by 1 p.m. Wednesday November 3 - three days before the other company said my car would be picked up. I've read in these 1 and 2 star reviews that other customers have had trouble getting in touch with RoadRunner's customer service agents, but that was not my experience at all. Every time I called the rep who initially contacted me, he answered within a minute or called me back within a half hour. In addition, two chat agents (including one who contacted the very polite and professional driver who called to me provide his location and an accurate delivery estimate) also responded instantly. Again, I'm quite pleased with the service I received from RoadRunner Auto Transport and highly recommend them. read more

I don't typically post reviews on line but given the situation with RoadRunner I am compelled to make others aware of my customer experience. RoadRunner, through a 3rd party contractor (I assume), picked up my car in Oregon with an estimated delivery date of January 12th in Texas. On the 12th, I called RoadRunner just to get a status and they gave me the usual the carrier will call with a 3 hour window when they are going to deliver. They then called back and said the carrier had a break down but everything was addressed and my car would be delivered on January 16th. On January 16th, I called RoadRunner again to get a status. They put me on hold for a few minutes and when they came back they said the carrier had picked up 2 identical vehicles and unfortunately mine had been delivered to Maryland. Not sure what was said next but ultimately they said they were trying to find a carrier to deliver my car to Texas and they would call me when that was arranged. Then I got an email notification that a carrier named Manny's Towing was scheduled to deliver my car on January 22nd. I am a first time customer of auto shipping so maybe some of this is to be expected but it does not inspire confidence in this process, RoadRunner or their customer service capabilities. I fully understand mistakes get made and things happen and when they do the quality of a company's customer service and responsiveness is tested and shows through. Some things for any potential customers and for RoadRunner to consider: 1. If I had not called on January 12th, when was I going to find out about the situation? 2. Was the 'break down' real or just an excuse to get me to go away? 3. If I had not called on January 16th, when was I going to find out about the Maryland situation? 4. Will I ever get my car and I wonder what condition my car is in now and what it will be when I get it? 5. Is the carrier delivering my car reputable or strictly a money saving move on RoadRunners part now that the situation has to be fixed? 6. The identical car excuse does not hold water because when they picked my car they mistakenly recorded it as 2007 model going to Maryland, mine is a 2019 model. They electronically sent me a corrected notification but apparently it was not fixed in the carrier's system 7. When I called, the customer service reps were polite and friendly but offered no real helpful solutions and certainly did not offer to "make things right" These are just a few things to highlight what goes through a customer's mind when some like this occurs. In my experience, high-quality proactive customer service is one that reaches out to the customer when issue occurs, offers real and accurate information, commits to make it right, offers options to the customer and follows-up until the situation is rectified. Other than basic email notifications, none of the above has occurred. Although this is my first experience shipping a car, it won't be my last. I intend to ship a car twice a year at a minimum. At this point, it won't be with RoadRunner. I have also been asked by at least one other person for recommendations, you can assume what my response will be. I booked in August and was told by the sales man "no problem, we can have the car picked up the 18th of September by 5pm. We just can not give exact delivery date. It can take up to 3 or 4 days". I told him no problem. I need the car picked up the 18th for sure by late afternoon. I have a plane to catch. He said no problem and I booked. Here I am on the 18th of September, no driver assigned, no guarantee of pick up and was told my first call they can not guarantee pick up date look at the contract. WTF? Anthony at roadrunner spoke to us on the phone after another carrier stranded us. I explained EXPLICITLY that we had a backup rent a car and we were on a ship traveling and that if he could not make the date we would use the backup. He sends us a contract for a date after the date we needed after I told him we were traveling and only if he could make the date to book shipping. He sends us contract for date AFTER agreed upon conversation, I had called and called him NO ANSWER OR RETURN, the company they hired tried also, NO answer, called Nick with customer service, NO HELP, said I signed contract, I explained that I spoke with Anthony and explained to him if he couldn't make the date not to take job, that we didn't have cell service once on boat, spent another 100 in international calls trying to call anthony, he still hasn't answered me and Nick didn't care or even try to hold his employee responsible for the conversation, I would never trust a company that operated like this, he has now cost us thousands and RUINED our Yellowstone vacation days and our car still sits in Florida. read more

Pickup was towards the end of the day but the driver was texting me with updates the whole time which made it easy. Someone from their office followed up as well. When you call in, you're met with "the most reliable" transport solution. Reliable would be massively overplaying it, I think they missed the 'un' part at the start of it. We moved from California to Illinois and didn't want to drive both cars across so organized to have one shipped. I initially wanted it picked up on a Monday (April 6) and then I'd meet it at my destination on or after April 15. However, I was told that I should make it the Friday instead so that it gets delivered closer to my time. They are the experts apparently so I did what they suggested making sure I clarified it would definitely be picked up because we were starting our drive the next morning. Friday rolls around, no call. I call them to check on the status first thing in the morning (it's on schedule for the day). Not 30 minutes later I get a phone call from the driver telling me he'll be there to pick it up either Saturday evening or Sunday morning. Wonderful, now I'm driving two cars myself and call them to cancel my shipment. Insult into injury they refund only the shipment and not the insurance purchased ontop it. I've tried to contact them numerous times but amazingly every time "I must be transferred to their cancellation department" who seem to never answer their phones. I guess that points to one of two things: 1. They are incompetent and never answer their phones, or 2. They get so many cancelations because their service is so terrible that they aren't able to get back to everyone read more

I originally booked road runner in January for shipping my car in august. I wanted to get ahead of the summer surcharge in prices. As it got within 2 weeks of my pick up date, i continued to call the company to ask about pick up and carrier assignment and my worries that it wouldn't be picked up in time. I called at least 12 times, and at least 5 of those were on the same day. No one ever answered the phone. Within one week of pickup, I sent numerous emails and no one ever responded. So I decided to look at another company, Montly. I called them in a panic about my car not being picked up in time, on the second ring, someone answered the phone and assisted me right way and my car was actually picked up the same day. The man who helped me even gave me his personal direct line to call in case I had any problems at all. 0/10 do not recommend road runner, they are very unresponsive. read more

I called multiple times a day on June 20-June 23 and was never able to get through to anybody - I was just told due to extremely high call volume I was unable to get through until the line hung up. I finally heard from them on June 23 and was told my car would be picked up on June 25 and would take 7-10 days to get to my destination - and would be $200 over what I was originally quoted. I was told that because of the COVID economy this was the only carrier going out. I told them I was going to call other companies and they told me I wouldn't be able to find anyone else since this was the only trucker going out. Within 30 min I found a competitor who would take my car for the original price I was quoted. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Horrible communication, bad customer service, it took my car forever to get here when it was promised on a certain date, nobody answers their phone, this is the worst auto transport, ever do not use, beware. 0 stars read more
