DO NOT USE ROADRUNNER AUTO TRANSPORT. You have been WARNED! WORST business I have ever dealt with. Contracted with RoadRunner Auto Transport to ship mom's car from NJ to FL on June 4, 2022 as I had to fly up to NJ from FL to bring Mom down on June 5. RoadRunner Auto Transport just NEVER SHOWED UP on June 4. How does a company operate like that. I called them several times throughout the day and their machine says, unprecedented high call volume, please hold. I hold for 10 minutes then the recording says, we are unable to take your call. Call back during business hours - it's 3pm, more BS! They state all over their website as "Reliable". BS! I had to fly back up to NJ the following week to sell the car due to RoadRunner's unreliable, incompetent, negligent business practice. Then, on Monday June 6, I get a call from them saying, we see you're scheduled for an auto shipment. Ha! How stupid can this company be? DO NOT USE RoadRunner! read more

RoadRunner did an excellent job shipping our Lexus from Boston to San Francisco. Upfront about expectations, staff and drivers were professional and communicated well. Car arrived on time and damage free. I have shipped several cars with different companies now and Road Runner did the best. Highly recommend. read more

100% do not recommend! Go else ware. Please! I called several transportation companies mid May 2022 to get quotes for a transport from Illinois to California. Roadrunner gave me a quote and I went about my research. I remember the attendant that took my call was rude, invasive and had a nasty attitude but the conversation was short and I got what I needed so I moved on. Since then I have received several follow up calls in which I continued to tell the attendant that I was no longer in need of the service and I politely informed them that if I did need it in the future I would give them a call. They continued to call and left voicemails from a (1-516) 605-2665. Hicksville, New York. Today they completely crossed the line. I received a call and spoke with a man named Ross or Russ. He asked me if I still needed transportation services and I told him, I did not. He asked me "Why". I told him that I didn't have time to speak because I was at work and i politely thanked him for following up. He said "Well, when will you have time". I again, politely said I will call you if I need you. I don't have time to speak right now. He said "you obviously do have time since you picked up the call." I said "you are being incredibly rude" he said "you are being incredibly dishonest. Did someone else give you a different price." I asked him for his name so that I could report him and he said "My name is RoadRunner Auto Transport". I said, "No, I asked what YOUR name was and he said "Ross or Russ, I am the manager so try to report me." His behavior today as well as the during the previous phone calls was completely inappropriate and disrespectful. He absolute should not speak to anyone the way he spoke to me today. I want my name and information removed from the companies database immediately. I have no obligation to provide this company with the information on how I decided to proceed, and I absolutely do not need to provide you with your competitors pricing. He was out of line 100%. Do not do business with these people. read more

Zero communication. They will not answer the phone on any of their multiple lines. I've tried them all.

The WORST. Needed transport from westcoast to Pecos, New Mexico area. 1) The driver was late. 2) The driver called late in the evening to report that he was late and would not be able to bring my vehicle to its final destination. 3) The driver, because he was late, dropped my vehicle off in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Albuquerque is about 100 miles south of me. 4) The driver said he was going to give it to another carrier located in Albuquerque. But, the driver said that he needed more money to pay for the local carrier. 5) I flatly refused to pay anymore money. 6) The driver then asked me to pick up my vehicle in Albuququerque. As mentioned, Albuquerque is 100 miles south of me, and he was asking me to make the drive at around 9pm at night. 6) I flatly refused to agree to pick my vehicle up 100 miles short of its final destination. 7) Needless to say this caused a nightmare with the auto transporter from hell. 8) I tried calling the dispatch but no response. 9) Do I recommend? ABSOLUTELY NOT! I do not recommend this unprofessional group. Advice: DO NOT USE. read more

Gave a price not an estimate based on door to door delivery but when it was time to pickup the vehicle they called and added $220 to the price and said they underquoted it so take it or leave it. Talk about bait and switch. I received a quote via text saying it would $665 to get my car from Columbus to Chicago. Someone called me to arrange for transport and was super rude when I said his new quote of $745 was the highest I've received from anyone including their prior text. Thanks but Montway was much nicer about my request to shop around and even quoted me lower via phone. Total jerks. read more

If I could give zero stars for this company, I would. They completely disappear once you book with them and even more impossible to get a hold of someone to talk to you once you have signed an agreement form. I had booked with this company for my car to be picked up today Jan3rd and have never heard from them after I booked. I tried calling several times and when I finally got a hold of someone to talk to, they told me it might be picked up Jan 3rd or the 4th or the 5th and after asking for some assurance if it will still be picked up on the actual date(which is Jan3rd-as discussed before booking), that person hung up. If this is how a company runs it's business, then I think it is a scam. After having signed an agreement that I will be charged extra for cancellation, that's total BS when nobody ever picks up the car. Anybody would cancel if that's the case. Stay away from this company! read more

We had a death in the family and needed to ship a car accross the state. Their agents were responsive and said it wouldn't be a problem and they could collect our car in a few days (before we left for our flight) and gave us a reasonable price. We agreed and signed contract. Fast forward two weeks. Our car had still not been picked up and several of the agents had lied to us, promising our case was marked as "urgent" when it was not (as subsequent calls confirmed it had not been). Then finally they say they have a carrier, but the price would be 1.5x our initial estimate! I said I wasn't willing to pay anything above the price we agreed upon and they basically said "take it or leave it". No negotiations, no compassion, nothing but crooks looking to put you in a hard place and then take advantage of you. 0/10 read more

My Anxiety is through the Roof! I was so excited to do business with RoadRunner Auto Transport as it was recommended to me by a good associate of mine. I called Road Runner Thursday last week on 9/7/2023 and spoke with Christian on the phone. I explained to him that I needed my car to be shipped from CA. to GA. I am presently in GA already, and the key holder to my car is a 45-minute ride from the location of my car in CA. Christian and I set a date for a Monday or Tuesday pickup. He said that I could not ship the car without the key. We agreed that I would have the key holder hide the key on one of the tires for the driver who would arrive Monday or Tuesday 9/11 or 9/12. My car is parked on a public street. Monday 9/11 came and went. I did not get a call from anyone. Today Tuesday 9/12 I called to inquire about the status of my car since I have not heard anything about my car which has my very expensive automatic key on one of the tires. So now begins the Customer Goose chase that I so often experience with most companies that immediately do not keep you in the loop or never start communicating with you when a service cannot be fulfilled at the scheduled time. I called Christian at his extension and got his voicemail and left a message. I waited an hour and of course no call back. I then called the main line and talked to a lady who informed me that they had not found a truck to ship my car. When I told her that my key was sitting on one of the tires due to the fact that Christian had told me it would be a Monday or Tuesday pickup and that I was concerned that there could be a storm or someone could walk by and take it, she then proceeded to tell me to think positively and she then looked up the weather for the past few days and gave me the weather report for this past weekend in CA and the rest of the week. She then asked me if I could have the key holder who works all week from 9-5 and lives 45 minutes away if they could come back to pick up the key. (Keep in mind that person would then have to drive back at whatever random time a truck does get sent out) So now my car is sitting on a public street in Los Angeles with a key on the tire and all of my personal paperwork in the glove compartment, with no set date for pickup. And if the key does go missing, they won't be able to ship my car at all and I will have to replace a very expensive key. But I am supposed to " think positively". If my car could not be shipped on the dates agreed upon then that's all that should have been said in advance. Then I would not have had my key placed on the tire. Also, if a tracking link is sent to the customer, then that should be working at all times so that the customer knows the updates. And we as customers should not be patronized by employees when such expensive items that are a necessity to our lives are at stake. Please do not leave me a canned response to this message, saying how sorry you are about the situation and how my review will help your company to do better. Just get my car off the street with the key on the tire and deliver it at the location that was agreed upon, at the agreed upon price. Thank you. read more

An update. By sheer luck around 430pm yesterday, a representative emailed and called me to add comprehensive coverage - that was lucky timing because through him I was given a few phone numbers to call to try to get in touch with the driver. The driver made it to the location pretty much just as the place where I had the car was closing for the day. This was frustrating because they said they would arrive by early morning and instead we heard nothing all day. To make matters worse, the shop where I had the car picked up called me to inform me that the driver picking up the car slammed it onto the frame of the transporter and damaged the front are where the license plate holder sits. I'm not sure of any full damage until I take it into a car mechanics to investigate further. This is absolutely absurd and the way this company operates is entering illegal business territory. The ONLY time you hear from anyone is when they call you for an initial quote payment and for any coverage plans. But after that it's radio silence. The emails I send seem to go no where and the wait time to reach someone through their various 1-800 phone numbers range from 20-60s minutes long. I'd like to ask RoadRunner, who do I reach out to should i need to address fixing the damages made on my car? And please do not provide a bogus phone number or email that no one responds to. Is it Nick Pomo-Roman who reached out to me for coverage insurance, or is it Rob Aiola, who initially called me to complete my quote payment? Neither of whom seem to exist as they are completely unreachable after you've given them your money. read more

I wanted to update my earlier 1 star review. As this is the only time I have used an auto shipping service I can't evaluate them compared with others. Tried charging me $1100 and when I said I would get back to them he got mad and abruptly hung up. What a terrible company.

I booked with RoadRunner to ship my boss's Tesla from CA to NJ. After booking I saw the Yelp reviews and tbh my heart sank. I was so nervous after reading the reviews, but the wheels were already in motion (heh). It was Wednesday morning when I booked and the rep who helped me on the phone said it would be picked up by Friday. Later in the day I received a call from the shipper saying they would be there at 3pm PST that Wednesday, and delivered the next Monday. Wow! So far so good...They picked the car up on time. The following Sunday (today) I received a call saying the car would arrive at the destination. AWESOME! Car was dropped off within an hour of when they said they would arrive. The truck driver was responsive to my texts and gave me a heads up before he arrived. No issues whatsoever. I never leave reviews anywhere but had to post a comment since there were so many negative ones here. Great service, Alex! read more

They tried to scam us out of more money the day of pickup!! I was in an accident and needed my new car shipped to me quickly. I set a pick up date with Roadrunner Auto Transport and not only did my car not get picked up that day, I was not contacted that my car was not getting picked up when it was scheduled to. Tge week leading up to when my car was supposed to be picked up I was not contacted and there was no carrier assigned to pick up my car. Understandably in the winter the weather is bad and unpredictable, but it should not take over a week to get a carrier assigned to a vehicle. Also, if the plan is going to change, the customer should be contacted. Also, when a carrier was finally assigned, they called and tried to charge an extra $500 to pick it up! They were very untrustworthy and sketchy. read more

They were helpful with the quote and now I'm trying to contact them with regard to my pending pick-up. I've been on the phone, 45 minutes at a time for several days no one answers! Excellent service, on-time, very professional, great communication, great customer service, thank you very much

See the problem with RoadRunner is.... They are a broker. They advertise that they have drivers, but what they really do is call other driving companies and ask if they have space on their trucks. PLEASE just find the actual truck-driving companies. You should not pay all money up front EVER. I made the mistake and the driver came a day later than what roadrunner estimated. I also had to pay extra to have things in my car. The only good thing is, the car arrived a day earlier to the destination from Virginia to Tucson. read more

Great Service. Would use them again. The drive was very careful in loading the car. The car arrived with no damage.

I used this company because I was mislead by the fake reviews on their site. if I had seen the 1 star review on yelp I would have not given my money to this company. I was told my vehicle would be picked up on Friday. I waited all day and night and no one showed. Saturday I received an email saying it was now being picked up Monday. Monday came and I also waited all day and night and again, no one showed. When trying to call the company it takes about 20 minutes to actually talk to someone. Once you speak to someone thmet have absolutely NO information. Its absolutely mind boggling that they are still in business. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!! Avoid this company at all cost!! I was contacted by a sales person and decided to go through them. After some further research I came across the reviews which are extremely bad, so I decided to try and call customer support... Well I have been on hold for an hour multiple times and when I finally got a hold of a customer service agent, she hangs up on me after I said "Hi, I would like to cancel my booking". I'm so glad I Just only booked today and I haven't signed the agreement or any contracts at all, I seen the reviews/experienced the worst customer service already on day one so I cant imagine if they failed to get me a carrier on the date of pickup. Rob sent an email with his contact info and quote number. After I called Rob back with a credit card NO MORE RESPONSES from email or many voicemails left with him. I would NEVER recommend this company. The date of pick up was changed AT LEAST 5 times and even when the driver called me and promised it would be picked up the next day. It was still two days later. It was a major inconvience for the person holding the car for me. She had to take time off work!! Alex is the driver. I still haven't received the car and am very frustrated!!!! I have used Roadrunner for a few of my company vehicles. Overall, they are great. My one complaint (which for my company is a major one), they don't listen to you if you have a certain window for pickup and delivery. We always specify that we are only able to do pickup/delivery Monday - Friday between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. EVERY SINGLE TIME, they try to pickup outside of this window and our office is closed and the drivers call you and argue with you until you give in and go back to the office (out of your working hours, you are not close by to work). IT IS VERY FRUSTRATING. I am using a different company now called Mercury, if they are better about this, then we will not be returning to RoadRunner. read more

THE ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY OUT THERE TO TRANSPORT A VEHICLE! BEWARE AND DO YOURSELVES A FAVOR. NEVER. USE. THIS. COMPANY. Bunch of low life scumbags that will tell you what you want to hear and when you agree and pay they disappear. This company will never answer their phones and if you actually get through to someone they'll walk you through some bullcrap and try to protect their own sorry behinds. Complete garbage is what they should be called. I bet they have never even reached out to those that have complained on here. I was anticipating a pickup from them earlier this week, nothing, not a damn call to tell me when the driver would be here, if they cancelled on me or anything. I hired another company and they came within hours for a cheaper price! Do your research and NEVER trust scums like this. They are worse than the juice that leaks from rusted dirty garbage cans you see in a dark alleyw Update: 11/11/19 I was reading the comment on how i the company was trying to blame me for them not picking up my car, me hiring a different company to get he job done, me for lack of time and as well as for me not giving them enough time when someone had confirmed the car would be picked up that Wednesday and that i would be notified 2-3 hours ahead of when the driver was supposed to meet me. RoadRunner Auto Transport - Confirmation from the roadrunner that never followed through - Vehicle Shipping Near Me - Bethpage, New York

BUYER BEWARE. I just shipped 2 cars cross country with Roadrunner and had a horrible experience. 1) One of my cars arrived over 2 weeks late even though i booked it almost 2 months in advance. (and they left me in the dark for the entire time..i kept calling and they wouldn't answer or call back and the only way i got them to help me was when i threatened to call the police as i was concerned that my car had been stolen) 2) I reached out to them on multiple occasions before and during and nobody would return calls or answer my questions. 3) They would not take responsibility for their lack of communication, their poor service, their lack of follow through, and their sales team over promising and under delivering, etc. 4) They deflected, denied and wouldn't even talk to me about the fact that due to their delays, i ended up having to spend around $1500+ extra on a rental car and on the additional fees that they decided to add on at the last minute, as they claimed they couldn't find a transport driver and that along with the price of gas caused them to upcharge me 3 days in advance. I would never use this company again and i would advise any of you to stay clear as they will be incredibly kind when selling you, and then ignore neglect and will not communicate once you have signed and paid them. BE CAREFUL AS I AM FAIRLY CONFIDENT THAT YOU WILL REGRET WORKIING WITH THIS UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNCARING COMPANY, read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! (IF ONLY I HAD READ YELP BEFORE CONTACTING THIS COMPANY) I called to get clarity as to the next step of the process; He (the representative) scolded me as if I was a child. The representative stated, "this isn't ordering pizza!", which is perfectly fine if you haven't taken my payment method and given me an expectation of a phone call once they received the signed paperwork. Finally, I get to the canceling of the order (which was probably never being shopped) which yelled to me and I am still waiting on confirmation of some sort verification of the cancellation. Bottom line, poor customer service and a little vulgarity to boot. read more

Worst customer experience I've ever seen. Do yourselves a favor and stay far away from this company. They'll commit to a pickup date and a price quote and then show up days/weeks later and charge you $100++ more than what they originally committed to. I got the quote on road runners site and was impressed with the quote but did not click continue with quote just yet since I have not officially purchased the car. An hour later a man from road runner called and asked if I was ready to schedule and when I explained I was just getting a quote to see the price and I haven't even bought the car yet he then got mad at me for wasting his time and not committing right now on a shipping date and then hung up on me. About 20 minutes later, I got a message that a carrier was assigned. From then on, my experience with shipping my car was great. Drivers were professional and friendly. Road Runner is quite possibly the WORST! I am currently in the middle of trying to get my VW van picked up in Southern California. The van was supposed to be picked up on Saturday, driver never showed up even after the driver had called me to say they were on their way. Then the drivers just never shows up and Road Runner doesn't even call to see how everything went. I could go on about how unprofessional this company is but I would rather speak directly to a supervisor about this rather than speak to which ever operator picks up when I call. We shipped a classic car from WA to NH for about $3500 in an enclosed hauler. After not getting matched up with a truck after 1.5 weeks of waiting on Montway, we tried RoadRunner, and we were matched up with a truck in 30 mins. It seemed to be a 3rd party hauler, but that was fine, very typical in this business. They could meet us closer to the big city, not out in our small town. But the driver was nice and loaded it onto a long 2-car trailer hauled by a large pickup truck. He got it across the country in 4 days with no issues, and delivered to our drop-off point. It's very common in this business that you won't get pick and delivery exactly as you want it, you have to take what they can give you, the weather, traffic, and mechanical issues throw things off all the time. read more

I just wish I seen all these reviews before I booked with them to be honest.. LESSON LEARNED! That's all..

Do not use this company. I paid $745 which was most out of all shipping companies that I looked at. Canceled on me 3 times. I purchased a ticket to Chicago to see the car get picked up. They never arrived waited from 8 am till 10 pm. As of today the car is still in Chicago waiting to get picked up. Would not refund nor give me an update when the car will be picked up. So I wasted a day of work, spend additional $450, and now I will be calling my credit card to get the money back. I also paid the airport 24 dollar fee. Plus, lunch and unnecessary dinner total of $50. Then why did you try to charge me even more money today for your mistake? Instead of offering something you charged meI've had this booked since September. Anthony will call you everyday day till you book the transport and he takes your money. After that if you call him and have any issues he will not return your call. Now my car will not start. We are not sure what the hell the drive did to it. Had to call mobile mechanic. We'll see how much on top if everything else this will cost. Alright guys the Mechanic charge me $150 for labor +65 to come out to my house. So this has cost me $739 plus 745. Road runner transport was contracted to pick up my damaged truck and ship it to indiana. During the estimate process, I advised I do not want the truck operated as it does not have coolant. Despite that, they refuse to refund the difference. I do not recommend. I would run from road runner and find another, reliable and honest transport company, this one is neither.
