Once they have your money and your car they could care less. I could "ping" the location of the car, they lie about where your car is. The way I forced communication/delivery was by setting a deadline for delivery. If the deadline was missed again I would turn it over to police as stolen. I had the license number of the tractor, trailer and pictures. License plate readers in FL would have found stopped the missing truck. Well their sales people are friendly... But that's where the good news ends, I was transporting a car across country. Got a quote the first part of December, talked to one of their sales team. He set everything up and it looked good. He said he would put in the transport request. Then I waited...and waited. Finally, the first week in January I got a call that a carrier had been assigned...oh but one small problem, their "bid" had come in $200 higher than my quote. Ok, the friendly salesperson had said nothing about that, I was under the impression it was a flat rate, not a starting "bid". But I had too much time invested now so I just accepted the higher rate. So pickup is on a Tuesday, I take a day off work...and hear NOTHING. No carrier shows up, no phone calls. Nothing at all. So, I call the next day, after being on hold forever, I'm told "Oh that carrier cancelled, sorry. We'll put you at the top of the carrier search list." I suppose if I hadn't called they would have never even told me. Several days later I get a call that another carrier has been found, oh one small problem, this carrier "bid" is $170 higher than the first one. So now we are $370 over the initial estimate. At this point I just want to be rid of the car so I grit my teeth and agree. Then, you guessed it, this carrier cancels the day before pickup as well, so now I've cancelled my transport request and am waiting to see if all the charges get refunded to my credit card without another epic fight. Terrible service as soon as you book. Almost impossible to get a return phone call/text even after emailing or leaving messages on their phone. The car was promised to us on a Thursday. Even got a message the day before and morning off to be ready to receive the vehicle. That they would give us a 3-4 hour window. Later that afternoon on the day that we were supposed to receive delivery of our vehicle around 3:30pm, I get a call from the driver saying that they have a problem with their transport truck and that it will delay it for 4-5 days. I asked the driver when did they knew they had a problem and where is vehicle currently? He said it was in Cleveland and they knew 3 days ago. Keep in mind the vehicle is supposed to be delivered to San Diego. Driver told me things happens and basically deal with it. I asked why I was not notify 3 days ago when they knew they had a problem and wait till later in the afternoon of the promised date to tell me? Driver didn't have an answer for me. I even rearrange my day because I was expecting to get our car. I tried calling Road Runner again, no one answered me until 4 days later through text. This is probably the worst experience I've had with a company. My car was assigned a carrier they picked my car up and took my car and the payment went through. Now today it was supposed to be delivered got an automated message notifying me that I will be getting an update if it can't be delivered today. No message and no car and no response from all their numbers. Have been calling all day just to get an update and nothing. You can see the same issue with all the other customers with no communication after they take your money. Which is not ok for the amount of money that I paid. If I don't receive my car by tommorrow night I will be calling the authorities because I know they'll answer their phone unlike this unproffessional company. Total nightmare. They subcontract, in my case with BWI Technology based in Ohio. My car went from LA to Seattle. Easy, right? Wrong. The subcontractor barely spoke English over the phone. Roadrunner Auto Transport was one of the first names that popped up when I was shopping for a transport to relocate my vehicle from coast to coast. I filled out the online form and it will kick you to a text option. The quote was for 1495.00 to go from California to Florida. I added on the top loading and also the extra insurance. Each was 100 apiece. I was notified that they have a carrier available that that I had to call a dispatch right away to ensure that my truck will be taken care of. You will have to wait 10-15 minutes to have someone answer. I hung up and tried again and the same result. Phone was answered by Dave and he said that there is a truck that is available and they can get the pickup my car the next day. He said there was one issue is that it will cost another 300 dollars for the shipment. When I questioned why the price went up he said that the normal cost to go coast to coast is 2000.00. I asked why was I quoted 300 dollars less when all the information was in there for what I was looking to do. Type of vehicle and the pickup and delivery address. He said "It is always at least 2000 dollars to go coast to coast". "If I did not like that then I could wait on a truck that will be accept the original offer and that could take a while". They brokered my contract to a 3rd party. This carrier was late in picking up by over 1 week and then late in delivery by over 1 week. This carrier NSP Elite Express Inc promised he wouldn't store my vehicles at a "storage yard" and he did exactly that - stored them for over 1 week in the dirty filthy outside. Trying to talk to Roadrunner or get the attention of a supervisor is impossible. Roadrunner service center reps literally will just hang up on you. We ship our car every time we move, which has been 4x from coast to coast so far (we are military so we move frequently.) Road Runner gave us a quote that seemed very reasonable so we booked with them. About 8 days from our pick up date I called to ask about the carrier and was told I'd hear from them 7-10 days before my ready date. So I waited until a few days before our ready date and, having received no calls, I called again. I was told that I should expect a call the day of or perhaps the day prior to my car's ready date, so again I waited. The day before my ready date, I received a call that my car had been assigned to a carrier and to call the dispatcher. I did so and was told that my price went up from $625 to $834. I cancelled my order with them, and the dispatcher was indifferent and dismissive toward me, which was pretty crummy. In all of the times I've shipped a car, I've never been asked to pay over my quote. I feel like this is bad business, taking advantage of customers when you've pigeon-holed them by waiting until the last possible minute to schedule a pick up and then jack up the rate. The military doesn't reimburse us more than $200 to ship our car so we decided to split our family up and drive both cars to our next assignment. We will never use this company again. read more

I had a good experience with RoadRunner Auto Transport--they got my car from New Jersey to California in good condition and 1 day late, which happens when you're shipping a car across the country. When you book with RoadRunner, they assign you a carrier who will actually handle the pickup and drop off of your car. From reading the negative reviews, I knew to contact the carrier for updates. The driver was very communicative with my dad on the day of pickup. I called the carrier the scheduled day of drop off. They answered the phone immediately and informed me of the 1 day delay. The driver could not deliver my car directly to my door because I live in the middle of a city, so I met them elsewhere. Was this top of the line/cream of the crop car shipment? No. But my 10 year old car made it across the country in good condition for under $1200 and I can't complain about that. read more

I contacted this company to have my two vehicles shipped from Oregon to Arizona. The sales team was super responsive and I decided to book the job. As the date got closer I wanted to talk to the salesperson who helped me. I called his extension and left multiple messages. No callback, so I decided to call the company directly. It is impossible to get thru to anyone. It says there is an unusually high call volume and after about 15 minutes it literally hangs up on you. I needed to move a vehicle from TN to FL and began to go online to get quotes. The first quote I received was from RoadRunner Auto Transport (RRAT). The amount quoted was $665 (the HIGHEST out of ALL quotes I received). Prior to making a final decision I began to receive multiple emails and phone calls from various auto transport companies. Once I began to receive other quotes and do my due diligence and research on these companies I soon learned that RRAT was by far the most expensive. On Monday, June 10, 2019, at 4:44 p.m. (EST) I received a phone call from RoadRunner Auto Transport. The call came from 832-648-2296. The man on the phone asked me if I planned to use their service and I told him I'd received a few other quotes that were at least $200 cheaper. He then tells me that I needed to do my homework on these companies. I told him I had done that. He then says, "well it's obvious you have never transported a car before!" I then told him I'd shipped a car from TX to TN and had no problems at all. He then said "well if that company was so good why don't you call them!' And HUNG UP IN MY FACE! I have my diabetic testing and stuff in there and I also have CPAP machines for my husband and I I have no clothes no shoes just what we had. they didn't even have the decency to call me. JUST DON'T!!! I booked a vehicle transport about six weeks before I needed the car moved. I verified with the agent that they could pick up on the 16th but deliver on the 20th. We were moving and planned to take the long way to our new home. When I called the week before, a very rude girl told me that there were no guarantees as to when they could pick the vehicle up or the date of delivery. She told told me that I was informed that the date was flexible (I was not, but it was in the fine print--shame on me). We changed the date to the 15th so that we could be there when they came to pick up. I got email "updates" frequently, these updates basically said they were searching for a carrier. The 15th came and went, then the 16th, 17th, 18th. On the 19th, I found someone else to get the car. I had to inconvenience my neighbor by leaving the car with him. Each phone call got us an increasingly rude response, always with the same thing: "We don't guarantee shipping dates" and "There was a problem finding a carrier because you needed four days until you could accept delivery." Great! I understand this is inconvenient, but it would have been nice to be told that up front. Also, why couldn't they get it on the 18th or 19th if that was the case? I am pretty sure that they cannot guarantee that they even ship cars. Their policy is to wait until someone complains and then do something. I learned my lesson--never again. read more

I booked with Roadrunner mid-July for a mid-August transport from CA to TX. They booked me with Barrett Trucking for this shipment, if this is your assignment ASK FOR A DIFFERENT CARRIER. I was booked with Barrett for a shipment from TX to CA not long before and already had the contact information for the owner of the company and had a semi-good experience. The transit time was ~2 days but due to a mechanical issue and the driver's poor communication I ended up having to Uber 10 miles away to retrieve my vehicle in a truck yard at 10:00 PM. My booking with RoadRunner and Barrett Trucking had an estimated five day transit time, which cuts close because the delivery was scheduled on Friday and I had to be back at college for my first day of work and my senior year of college on Monday. For this shipment the owner of Barrett Trucking, Gerard, asked me if I could drop my car close to him a day before it would be loaded to make it easier since it's difficult to get out of Los Angeles. Easy, right? I trusted him so I met him in person and left the car in a designated lot with an AirTag in my luggage just to have some extra tracking while in transit. He told me the car would probably not leave until two days after. As the days went by, I watched the AirTag's location update constantly and not move from the location I left it at. I thought I was going crazy. I kept in communication with Gerard from Barrett Trucking and called RoadRunner twice for updates on their end. Both assured me that everything was fine, the car was on the carrier and that it would be at my location Saturday at the earliest, also when Gerard would update me about the drop off time. Today is Saturday, the day after the estimated delivery time and the car is JUST NOW LEAVING THE LOCATION I LEFT IT AT A WEEK AGO. RoadRunner did not catch onto this and offer options for booking another carrier that would have actually left the location and Gerard from Barrett did not accurately give me updates as to where and when I would see my car.
