Scam! Completely screwed our move. Had to push it back 4 days because we ended up having to book with a different company. They'll book you and then ghost you, even up to 4 days PAST your scheduled pick up date. We called them out about bad reviews and being a scam and they said "ugh yeah unfortunately those aren't real people, they're just bots who were never booked". Save your time read more

No communication horrible experience.. DO NOT USE THEM. Order a pick up 4 weeks in advance and they were late two days picking it up, Not a big deal but i was getting on a plane the next day and didnt pick up till 9pm the day before my plane. Then when it came time to arrive the lazy driver said i cant turnaround funny how the other driver was able to do it and I've had other tractor trailers in here to do.. I am in the transportation industry and i am surprised they even stay in business. they quoted me $1200 and then wanted to charge me 1500 then lied about saying i said ok.. steer clear of them for sure. read more

If I could leave 0 stars for this review, I would. My 2013 Honda Civic was to be transported from South Florida to Phoenix, Arizona. My mistake to not check the reviews here prior to booking a scheduled shipping. Spent a little over $1,000 for the service and insurance coverage. A representative who had answered in the morning told me that I would be notified 3 hours prior to the transport's arrival scheduled for yesterday afternoon. I NEVER received a call nor other notification, and the transport never arrived. I was not even given the courtesy of being told of delays. I will be disputing the charges with my bank first thing in the morning with the documentation paperwork and transactions before moving on with a more REPUTABLE auto transport company that won't SCAM me because the thought of this company nearly having the opportunity of being in possession of my belongings scares me. ABSOLUTE SCAM! I booked them yesterday to show up at my house today at 10:00am and paid in advance. They were absolutely fantastic to deal with through the booking process. However nobody showed up at 10:00 and I received an email at 10:30 telling me my service was cancelled and they were trying to reschedule. So I called their 800 number sat on hold for 20 minutes. Someone picked up my call and when I told her what the problem was she didn't say a word just put me back on hold. Now 3 hours later, I have to catch a plane, I don't have a clue what I'm going to do about my car, oh yeah and let's not forget that they still have my money. When I finally got someone on the line, I was told that they may or may not have a carrier for my car. When I explained that is not what the person told me yesterday, I was told that their sales team says whatever they need to say to get the sale regardless of the truth. WOW read more

Please avoid booking with this company!! If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Prior to making the booking final, the company will call you 1,000,000 times a day. After you've been through the booking process, the company will ignore your calls and keep you on hold for hours. Please do NOT use this company. Very unprofessional to not pick up the phone or continuously hang up the phone on your customers. read more

To start, the actual cost and the quoted cost varied greatly; we paid over $400 more than originally quoted. I will add that there was also a great time difference as we got the quote in November and got service in January... still a big difference. Also, why would I not get a choice in carrier to choose? Instead, they just chose the most expensive carrier. I'm very disturbed by this. In addition, the day we called to confirm our go date, we were unable to get through. I would be put on hold for 6 to 8 minutes, then it would ring and tell me to call again later. Shouldn't it be my choice to wait? If not, get a call back system. I never was able to get through via a call. I did finally find my review email and a link to an online chat, but that too was tainted. The hold message stated that I could find this online chat link on their website. I never found it there. My 2 cents would be to skip the hassle of this middle man and find a direct carrier. read more

They cancelled two days prior to the ship date and after I already paid. Once they eventually rebooked it, they damaged my vehicle and now are refusing to cover the damages. I was quoted 950 and the price changed to $1,450. When the driver came to pick up my car he wanted me to tip more.

Requested to have my car picked up, I get an email the day of pick up saying that the driver will contact the person at pick up. The person at pick up never got a call, my car was never picked up, and an update was never sent to me. I wait about 5 days because I wasn't in a hurry and it took me awhile to find out my car hadn't even gotten picked up. Yet still... Just silence. I go out of my way to contact them regarding the issue, the phone rings 3-4 times and an automated message tells me all callers are too busy to answer and to leave a message. If you plan on wasting your time and giving out free money then this company is definitely for you! ;) read more

We scheduled an auto transport and were quoted a price of $685. We agreed to the terms and scheduled a pickup and delivery time. When called to pay, we were told that the price had increased to $875 and that we needed to pay then or the price could increase to over $1,000. We checked with BetterBusinessBureau and there are 70 complaints regarding Roadrunner Auto Transport just in the last 12 months! They have an F rating by the BBB. They are running a bait and switch with pricing. Check out BBB before using. Would not recommend using this dishonest company. read more

They may be cheaper than the competitors, but you're still paying far more than what the service they provide is worth. The duration of my family's service with them (which is not even complete yet) has been nothing but mistakes, lack of communication, and poor customer service. Honestly, I think we would have been better off just driving the car there ourselves. My parents booked the car transportation service from Michigan to Arizona. They were told the car would be picked up on Saturday and that they would be given two hours notice of when the driver would arrive, and that the driver would be picking up from their home. Saturday goes by, the driver never shows, and they don't get a call of any kind from the driver or road runner apologizing for the miscommunication. On Sunday the driver finally reached out around 11am, first saying that he would be there between noon and one. He then gives a pickup location a half hour away from our home, and says he would appreciate if we bring the car to him there at 11:30, which is earlier than he said earlier in that same message, not the agreed upon pickup location, and also impossible at that point because he waited until less than 30 minutes before that time to notify us. No communication, impossible to reach customer service, mistake after mistake. Based on other reviews I'm seeing this is a common enough experience, which begs the question of why on Earth road runner would allow this to continue. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They may as well be a scam. Customer service is unreachable and rude. They failed to pick up my car on the day they said they would. They give no carrier information. After their failure, I received no communication. I had to call multiple times just to reach them. The wait time for each call was well over 20 mins each. When I finally did reach them, they were unhelpful and kept blaming carriers. Only after I emailed to cancel, did they call me for the first time. They then tried to tell me they got another carrier assigned just to get me to pay the cancellation fee. When I asked about it, she was very rude, said "it'll apply" and then just hung up on me. Even though I did not consent to this second carrier. I've since reached out to another company, Sherpa Auto. They called me and communicated every step of the way. When a carrier was assigned, they immediately emailed me the company name, driver phone number, etc. Then, the driver called me to confirm. All of this for a lower price too. That is how it should be done, for reference. Do not use Roadrunners. read more

I booked a reservation to have my car picked up by Roadrunner today, for transport from Portland, OR to California. I had a confirmed booking and they told me it was on schedule. But, no carrier was assigned and no one called me from the company, so today, the day my car was supposed to be picked up - no pickup, and I'm flying to CA tomorrow. Last thing I needed was more stress related to my move. When you call Roadrunner, they don't answer the phone - it took me about 8 calls to reach a live person today to cancel my booking. My 90 year old mother used them to ship a car from FL to MA. They quoted a price and got the deal. When car was to be delivered they doubled the price and my mother verbally agreed as she didn't think she had an option. I called to discuss with RoadRunner and they basically said " too bad, she agreed to the revised price". All this after she called them to confirm the price would not change from the original contract. These guys had an opportunity to Do the right thing and honor the price but they chose not to. Can they deliver your car? YES. Do they have a moral conscience about deceiving an elderly woman? NO. Also - be prepared to sit on hold for a long time if you want to speak to anyone except a booking agent. Classic bait and switch... quote a low price, book the deal then charge double. read more

They are a broker. DO NOT USE THEM! Requested and got a quote in mid August for car transport in mid October and was told by the person that took the order that they were the best service. Kept getting email confirmations but no assignment to a carrier right up to the critical date, despite numerous calls where I always waited on line for 15-20 minutes and often just had to hang up and call again later. I find it hard to beleive that others had a great experience. TERRIBLE SERVICE! read more

I booked the transport 30 days in advance and received 6 automated emails that everything is on schedule. Just to make sure I called 3 times and I was reassured. On the day of the scheduled pickup David called me and said that the transport is delayed by a week and the price is 30% more. While I was expressing my disappointment with the service he invited me to the Roadrunner HQ to do his job if I know how to do it better, and he said that he can cancel it all on the spot. Because of the price and timing changes I asked him for a couple of hours to talk it over. After the call ended he charged the credit card with the new increased price (by 30%!!!) without my approval. So lowball quote, bad scheduling (it seams to me that nobody tried to schedule for 30 days), horrible service. read more

I had gone online for a quote, and I was not interested in the slightest bit after seeing the price. They called 3 times, all of which I asked to be taken off the call list. The third time I reached the wonderful guy named Timothy R. It was hard to get a hold of this broker once my payment was made. Outbound calls from them with updates when transporters fell through or pickup dates were missed was lacking. The person on the phone seemed very tired, however, always the same man who was patient. The original quote after the first carrier "fell through", went up a couple hundred dollars. We paid it because we needed the vehicle and they had the leverage. It was a very transactionally oriented process, a bit cold. The last arrangement came through and the vehicle was picked up and delivered without further issues. read more

Don't let the fact that Roadrunner is 10-20% more expensive than the competition goad you into thinking the service is better. It's actually an order of magnitude worse than any other service you can use. Let me explain: I was attracted to Road Runner because they had a professional looking website, a very straightforward quote, and was non-invasive about attaining the quote (aka no one was ringing up my telephone constantly like some other services). So taking this as a good sign, I booked with them. And I was given a very fast quote for arrival too. Was told it would arrive on Thursday, Nov 5. They email that it's a 12 hour window on the 5th. The 5th comes and goes - no car. The next day I hit up customer service via online chat asking what's going on. All I get are canned responses about the 12 hour window, which I replied well that's what I was told yesterday and no car, so how would today be any different? Then they straight up didn't respond to me. Again - on the 6th, no car. No call. On the 7th I chat with customer service again, get the SAME canned response and am ghosted after my reply AGAIN. So I call their number. I get a human, and only then they tell me that whatever window they get has a 48 hour grace period, so if the guy makes it by the end of the day, in their book, he isn't late. At this point I just want to get in touch with the driver to see what his ETA could be because I've basically had to give up my entire days being available because of this GIANT window. And they don't have a real way to do this - they said they pinged the dispatcher and would let me know if the driver gets back. Looking online - Roadrunner is just a broker. So if you're googling different transport companies in different areas - they basically do the same thing. And charge a premium on top. This is why they're more expensive. So it's not more expensive because the service is better - it's actually MUCH worse because you cannot get in touch with the driver they hire if your life depended on it. After numerous phone calls and getting zero help at all, I finally get a call from the driver - when he's 10 minutes away (RR says they'll call with a 2 hour notice). So did I get my car? Yes. 4 days late. With zero communication from the company. I honestly was starting to worry they were stealing my car because of their terrible communication and service. Next time I'll just connect with a local auto transport company. Will get better service for a better cost. read more

I called and reserved a pick up date for my daughter and her husband's vehicle to get shipped back to California because he was coming back from the deployment. I told the representative that it had to be on a specific date because they had already booked their flight to go back to California when he got back to NC. I never got the call for the pick up window so I called the dispatch and the dispatch gave me a time and also gave with the driver's cell phone number. The dispatcher told me one thing and then I called the driver and he told me something totally opposite. Long story short the driver showed up 24 hours later and the entire time I was communicating with him he was very rude and disrespectful. When the car got dropped off, the key fob was damaged. It looked as if someone took a screwdriver or a pen and dug out the lock and the unlock button. There was also white tape residue all over the car. I had my daughter submit the claims form and one of the claims representative responded back stating that they did not get the required documents, such as pictures as well as quotes to replace the fob. I have called numerous times and still have not heard anything back. Needless to say, pictures were taken when the keys was given to the driver which showed no damages to the key fob. Pictures as well as quotes for the key fob was sent with the claim and the agent responded saying they did not get any documentation. Overall, the service is terrible and I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. read more

11/27 My car finally arrived on 11/22. 15 days after RoadRunner took passion of it. I have extensive damage to two rims, both passenger side front & rear. Now I'm fighting with RoadRunner to cover my claim since I purchased insurance through them. I got two estimates...both are about $2300. I hadn't driven the car until today & now I'm thinking the way they wrenched my car diem something happened to the drive shaft. It definitely pulls to the left. Drive perfect before the transport with RoadRunner. So the battle continues. Oh fun. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! 11/18 Update: RoadRunner has had my car 12 days. Today I get a text from "Ivan" who tells me the truck broke down (this is the second time in 12 days I have heard this) and my car is stuck in IN. And please note the automated bs response I got from RoadRunner. Calling customer service when they open today. Customer service told me they "have no idea there was an issue with the hauler". They refused to give me a refund or pay for a rental car. Tried calling them back 3 hours later & nobody is answering. I called Tesla to have them ping the GPS and was told the GPS log has been wiped and it's not showing any location. They urged me to call SDPD and report the car stolen. I called the shop where the hauler is supposedly being repaired and was told they have a hauler there but she couldn't confirm my car was on it as she has left for the night. So the fun continues tomorrow. The worst experience ever. Awful customer service that outright lies to you. My car was picked up in San Diego on Saturday November 7th and as of this afternoon, almost a week later it is still sitting in San Diego. The only reason I know is because I have GPS on my car (Tesla) and can tell where it is at all times. The only time I got a call back with any kind of information regarding what the heck was happening is after I threatened to call SDPD and report my car stolen then call Navy Federal CU and report fraudulent charges for the $1800 they took out to move/not move my car. I am told my car is supposed to arrive Tuesday Nov 17th...I highly doubt that will happen and God only knows the condition my car will be in. These people are unprofessional and outright crooks. 11/20/2020 In November of this year, I contacted RoadRunner Auto Transport to arrange to have my son's vehicle transported to his military base in Florida. After several conversations, I was just waiting to hear from my son where on the base the vehicle could be delivered. On this date, I received a call from (203-275-0182) a representative from RoadRunner Auto Transport. I recognized the number and tried to answer. However, due to bad reception and my phone transferring back and forth between my vehicle's Bluetooth - the call was dropped. The caller immediately called back, which I again answered. The representative began screaming that I was rude and that if I didn't want to speak to him, I should just say so! He then abruptly hung up. I immediately called back once I regained reception at which time the representative answered and proceeded to mock me by repeatedly stating, "Hello, Hello, Hello?" He then hung up on me. This situation is ironic since if I was trying to avoid the company, I would never have answered the call, which I recognized as coming from RoadRunner Auto Transport or made an attempt to call back. This representative was rude, abrasive and certainly not a person I would want representing my company in any capacity. Due to this experience, I would NOT RECOMMEND RoadRunner Auto Transport to anyone, especially military personnel. Find a better company for any of your transport needs.
