This Place was amazing and a great addition to the Manchester food scene. The fried chicken pieces were great (5/5) - I had both the breast and the thigh and I preferred the breast, but I think it is simply a matter of preference. I did not try the fried chicken sandwich but I will be getting when I am back up in two weeks. I also tried the mac and cheese (4/5) - this was also great. My wife had the bento box with the Peruvian spiced chicken (5/5) and she finished the entire box (and she is a picky eater) and loved it. The chicken was cooked to perfection and was deliciously moist. My daughter had the bento box with the vegetable dumpling - I did not try the dumplings but both my wife and daughter loved them. Also, I did not try the rice and beans but they got great reviews. I strongly recommend the Road Runner read more

I would give 6 stars out of 5 if I could. Not because it is the single greatest restaurant I have ever been to, but because everything was executed as well as it could have been. We were blown away and grateful beyond words that we stumbled upon this place for a quick and casual lunch. Two of our party had the fried chicken sandwiches and I had the burger. We also split an order of the pimento fries among the three of us. Every single bite was outstanding. The burger was an amazing double smash burger that was perfectly cooked. The Cabot cheese and the aioli were also out of this world, as was the bun. The others had nothing but praise for the chicken sandwiches, from the roll to the crispiness of the chicken to the slaw. Everything was cooked and prepared in outstanding fashion; the texture and flavor were just top tier. The fries were also phenomenal. Just the way they were cooked alone - the ideal level of crispiness and salt - would have warranted 5 stars, but the pimento cheese and aioli on top were just next-level. The staff member working the counter could not have been more friendly and accommodating; he even brought our food out to us while we were sitting outside of the restaurant instead of just calling the name. I forgot to catch his name, but he was incredibly kind and I hope he gets the props he deserves, along with everyone involved in our experience at Road Runner. Seriously, awesome food. Food was pretty good but fairly pricy. The service is strictly order at the register and pick up at the counter, in other words there is no service. The gentleman at the counter who appeared to be the owner was fairly friendly, his counter part( no pun intended) was a bit dis interested and was not interested in being congenial. The temperature in the restaurant was quite cool, I would say about 60. For all practical purposes there is no ambiance. Give it a try, it might have just been a bad day for us. Roadrunner is filled with good vibrations from start to finish. The menu is deceptively casual. Every ingredient seems carefully considered and the result is fancy-tasting, delicious harmonization on comfy tin trays. Salads are thoughtfully composed with the perfect mix of flavors and textures. The local beef burger would stand on its own, but was elevated to bites of awesomeness when joined by the perfect toasted bun and Vermont cheddar and pickle aioli. The breezy menu descriptions (HBegg=hard boiled egg, a new addition to my vocab) made me smile, and the same good cheer translated to the excellent service by people who seemed absolutely happy to be there. A local shop owner recommended this place and I had not seen it on the walking map and it didn't pop up on a google search because it is so new...but the salad and the burger and fries we got were OUT of the world delicious. The outside patio is neat, clean, comfy and in the shade of a beautiful tree. (You can bring dogs to the outside area.)The salad with the added fried chicken on the side was INCREDIBLY delicious. We had a fab lunch on a Sat afternoon recently. They have vegetarian options (2 thumbs way up for the Sabich!) as well as other options such as the fried chicken that my family ordered. We went to this restaurant for lunch. We immediately had some difficulty with the service at the counter. She had an almost snotty attitude, like she was doing people a favor by taking their order. Being customer-friendly was just not part of her agenda. Then, I had to put my coat back on because it was quite cold in there. They must not have paid their heating bill. The food was acceptable, but we got nickeled and dimed for everything that we ordered. I love to support new and local businesses, but I won't be coming back to this restaurant.
