We were headed from Londonderry to Okemo for a day of skiing and my friend wanted to grab some breakfast so we stopped at the Maple Leaf Diner. Just a little local restaurant that shares a building with a small market. Maple Leaf is utilitarian, nothing fancy, but service is good and the food just what you would expect. Since it had been a while since I had a good diner breakfast I figured I would get one of my favorites, the French Toast. My meal was 3 full slices with a little side of butter patties and a small bottle of maple syrup. I expected the French Toast to be a bit sweet, but this was more just bread dipped in eggs and grilled; it lacked the custardy goodness and moist interior I look for in the best French Toast. Overall this was OK, but nothing special. Maple Leaf seems like a nice little place with pretty good food, unfortunately I think I just picked the wrong item and my expectations may have been to high. If you are looking to grab some breakfast in Londonderry give them a try. read more

This cozy diner is located on a country road in the southern part of Vermont. Stoped here for breakfast and waited for approximately 20 minutes in line. Definitely a place for the locals in the area. Friendly waitresses and good diner food. Took the BLT, Mike's beef vegetable soup, and Tammy's Cran-orange muffin. Got the BLT on light rye, bacon extra crispy and fresh lettuce and tomato, chips---it was delicious. The soup was also very good. Bite size pieces of roast beef ...a steamy bowl of this soup will be perfect on a wintry day. The muffin was also good. Orange flavor came through well. I'm going to give a generous 4 stars for being pretty much exactly what it's supposed to be: a country, roadshide diner (with attached store) in Vermont. This was diner food done right. Service was friendly. The interior definitely had some years on it. But the food was pretty much exactly what is was supposed to be. Tiny diner with counter space and 5-6 booths. Service was prompt and courteous. Ordered decaf coffee that was served old and burnt. When I questioned if it was decaf the waitress replied "I will make a fresh pot". She knew she served me stale coffee. Pancakes were well done on 1 side. Maple syrup was delicious. read more

Probably my favorite diner I've ever been to in my life. I love this place, it's cozy and very homegrown. Super authentic place. You wouldn't expect the food to be as good as it is but it will blow you away. Cup of coffee of course and any of the plates they have are great. Anything with sausage on the side is incredible. Not many breakfast options in town and this place is popular. We timed our arrival perfectly and got one of the last remaining tables. Place is very small with ten seats at the counter and maybe six four tops along the wall. Our server ran the floor solo and wasn't overly friendly in the beginning but eventually she warmed up to us. It was a typically quiet Vermont setting with all the guests obviously locals except for us. We both had coffee which is really good here and our server did an excellent job keeping our cups full. I had eggs Benedict with home fries and bacon & sausage on the side. Everything was delicious. The cook here does an amazing job. My companion ordered pancakes with bacon. I tried them and they were light, fluffy and delicious. Our maple syrup was in a nip bottle from a local farm. Nice touch. We loved it here. read more

The Maple Leaf Diner is a little hole in the wall diner that I stopped at for lunch. Cheeseburger and disco fries were very good and reasonably priced. This place is as local as you can get so if eating at a little hole in the wall place isn't your thing, then you might want to skip it. This is a small town family run local diner. I really wanted to like it because the owners seemed very friendly, but alas. Food was frozen and reheated and service was slow. The food tasted as you would expect. The cook was not particularly hygienic and separated yolk from the white through his bare hands. He also wiped his nose on the back of his hand. I feel terrible leaving this kind of review, but I think people ought to know. The owners should probably address the situation. read more

We stopped for breakfast at the Maple Leaf on our way to Manchester for some shopping. We should have kept going. And going. Always hate to disparage a local diner, but this one is in need of a top-to-bottom redo. First, the food is average or less. Second, the atmosphere is almost repulsive. And it's dirty. The sink in which dishes and glasses are washed faces the counter at a distance of about only seven feet, and the resulting noise while trying to eat is both disturbing and deafening. The server shows no evidence of politeness to us, spending part of her morning texting with a couple of other customers. It's a tiny interior, and nothing about it seemed clean to us. And the food? Well, the cook doesn't seem to bother cleaning her grill; eggs are stored in a refrigerator already cracked; the bacon is of the lowest quality; and the pancakes are way too full of dough to be easily digested. As mentioned earlier, it gives us no pleasure to be harsh, but this diner regrettably deserves it. We'd urge you to drive on by. read more

If you're feeling adventurous and want to see some of Londonderry Vermont's finest characters, The Maple Leaf Diner is the place. Pam, our favorite waitress, knows our order by heart and is always making us feel at home. When the diner is busy the service can get pretty slow, but usually there is only one waitress working so, patience is key to having a great experience! I recommend going early to beat the crowd. The Blueberry French toast is an all time favorite along with the crispy bacon paired with fresh hot coffee. We will always be regulars:) read more
