I've used RK Construction twice. The first time was last year when our upstairs bathroom toilet overflowed into the downstairs dining room. It happened at night. He came over in the morning. He installed a new toilet (that we bought that morning), patched, texturized and painted the ceiling. Then a few days before Christmas, we had a roof leak in my son's bedroom while the rain was pouring down along with heavy winds. I called a roofer to fix the roof. The roofer recommended I just have the ceiling stained and painted over. But I'm not the type to do that. So I called Rex at RK to deal with the ceiling. I'm so glad I did, he saved us from toxic mold getting out of hand. He went into the attic and said that the roof leak must have been for awhile because there was mold there and showed us the pictures. The following morning (Christmas Eve), he was back to remove the areas that had the mold, installed new drywall, textured and repainted the ceiling like new. He's fast, dependable, fair price and detailed enough to do the job. If we had only stained it like the roofer suggested, we would have had mold growing above my son's bedroom. So not sure if he even deserves a 2 star but I'll give that to him for showing up to my home for our appointment. What my painter told me would be a $250 to $300 job for patching some drywall this company quoted me over $800. He walked in and immediately began to make sounds and noises as if this job was some huge job, in which it wasn't. Definitely did not go with him since he decided to try and take advantage of me by upping the price. Let's just say I had 3 more quote appointments and all of them quoted me about $300. We called Rex out after we had granite installed and needed drywall repair. Rex came out that weekend and priced us a fair quote. We had another project in our house that was incomplete, and Rex noticed it. My husband had torn a wall down but didnt finish the electrical or drywall and paint. What was a dated drab gas fireplace is now a beautiful stacked stone fireplace with an ebony mantel, it is gorgeous!
