You are in for a treat , Riviera 89 is a quaint little restaurant with wonderful ambiance . very extensive menu with something to please everyone. Signature drinks like the "Riviera 89" all freshly prepared , We had the lasagna bolognese, Italian side salad and a smash burger . The food was delicious , generous portions, served hot , beautiful presentation almost too perfect to eat. Service was great, Jeanina was very attentive and had great menu suggestions for us. We plan on making this new restaurant find for our go to restaurant in the future. Can't wait try some of the other entrees soon.

I'll be rooting for Riviera 89, but I'll likely not be back until they get their act together. We stopped by on a Friday afternoon for lunch, hoping that it would be a charming experience. They've done an excellent job on the renovation, and the location is much more attractive than the prior restaurant - it's now open, airy, bright and colorful. Our server came over quickly and shared that it was his first day, asking for some level of grace. We were happy to offer a little extra understanding, noting that his other coworkers / team members did not know his name. I won't comment on the service experience, other than sharing that it was a standard experience of a first day employee with minimal training. I don't blame him, I blame ownership. The food itself was fine, albeit unexceptional. I had the lasagna which was overcooked - it was a huge dish, I would have rather had more quality and less quantity. Pricing is a bit higher end, especially for lunch - if they had advertised this as a soft opening, I would have been more forgiving, but for an average of over $30 per person for lunch, a patron should expect better food and better service. I am again hopeful that the leadership of this restaurant invests more time and effort in the food, service and engagement with their patrons, and if they do they will likely find success in a neighborhood hungry for this type of higher-end experience. If however they continue to offer average food, disjointed service and higher pricing without leadership engagement, I think they will have challenges in Nocatee.

So we wanted to try this place. Keep in mind. It's only been open for four days so they are still working through several issues. We arrived at 5 o'clock so it wasn't very busy. Then when we left at 6 :30 it was filling up quickly. It took a while for someone to take our order, but once someone came to our table, the service was delightful. She did let us know that she was the "just the bartender" but she was super nice. I ordered the lasagna Bolognese. It was a huge portion. However, it had an overwhelming spice that I really couldn't identify. Not sure if it was rosemary or oregano, but it was pretty overwhelming. All in all it was tasty. The side salad was delicious. Very fresh and I loved their dressing. My friend had the lobster risotto. It was rather pricey, but was an adequate portion. She said it was very good but for the price they could've added more lobster. The ambience was rather nice. Much brighter than the previous restaurant. They have just a few booths, but the tables are well spaced. After reviewing the menu, I'm not sure if this is a place that I would visit frequently. I am more of a seafood person and not so much into creating my own pasta dish. I wish they offered more dishes containing fish like shrimp or scallops. It's exciting to have a new restaurant in our Nocatee bubble. I wish them well and I hope they continue to streamline their processes, update their menu, and, post any updates on their website.

Day one. VIP opening for those who received an email invitation. I feel overall this is a GREAT addition to our community and our food service/sit down restaurant scene in Nocatee Community. There is a light and bright atmosphere as soon as you step inside. It's still a relatively small footprint, but the illusion works with the striped vertical and wallpaper - the yellows and blues. Chairs quite comfortable, too. Reservations will be needed, to manage both expectations of diners and the comfort of those dining. No true wait area - so, lots of traffic blocks at the door. Service was a bit of a slow start - and all six meals didn't get to the table at the same time ... but it was lunch and the ladies continued to chat - not a problem. Everyone agreed their dish had promise -- perhaps one a bit more salty; perhaps another light on marinara; and another with a bit a gamey smell -- but the one to watch - a companion order pasta with vodka sauce and salmon ... her dish arrived with salmon AND shrimp ... for a shellfish allergy this could have been the beginning of the end. My companion had no issue with the mistake ... but without an epi-pen handy - could be a very different experience! I would offer a bit of remedial training to the servers ... number one - get those allergies for the entire table so noted right at the beginning of taking an order AND repeating the order back to the customer after inserting into their handheld device. Portions were good size - especially for lunch - took 1/2 home for leftovers! Will definitely return -- the afternoon menu and the dinner menu offer a few more options too. Riviera 89 is brings a taste of European coastal charm right to the heart of Nocatee. Founders, Anthony and Emeric Roy Perruccio ... WELCOME! This restaurant has been open in the Nocatee town center area for only a few weeks. We decided to give them a try for lunch today around 11:30. Upon arrival there were only a few tables occupied so we pretty much got our choice of a table. The interior looks completely different than the prior restaurant and I must say much better. It is light, bright and colorful with wonderful music playing. The menu offers appetizers, pastas, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pizza, quiche and desserts. I opted for the Riviera sandwich on a croissant. Other options are a baguette or homemade foccacia. The sandwich had mortadella, burrata, pistachio pesto, and lemon zest. It was a very tasty sandwich. Side options were fries or a side salad. My husband had the bolognese lasagna. It was a hearty portion. My mother in law had the quiche with a side salad. She enjoyed the salad and the contents of the quiche but not the crust, which was too hard.

So let's start with the ambience of the place, looks great. I'll give it a 10 out of 10. The beautiful yellow and blue decor transports you to another country. We ordered the fried Burrata which was excellent, as an appetizer. Then we got to the downslope of our experience. I am not exaggerating when I say that the food took 45 minutes to get there and it wasn't even that busy!! My husband ordered the lobster risotto and I ordered the spaghetti carbonara. My dish was a knockout 10 out of 10. I loved it and It tasted good. It was fresh. It was great however, my husband's dish tasted like mush. It fell flat. You could barely taste the lobster. The risotto kind of tasted mushy. I wanted to love everything about this place. I was hopeful. I was excited, but if I need three hours to have a mediocre meal, it might not be worth it .so I'm a little torn, which is why I'm giving it a three out of five because I really wanted to love it and I was very hopeful and I was looking forward to be transported to a different place and was really underwhelmed, but I'll have to try it again and tell you if they fall flat. *Small note to the restaurant, the ambience is great. The service people are pretty good. They're good, but we have to do better with turning the plates around and another small detail that rubbed me the complete wrong way. I ordered two drinks. I ordered a a spritz that was recommended by the bartender and a red wine. both times I watched my bartender use the same drying towel he had been using to clean all the glasses to clean my glass which is OK, but sometimes when you use a dish towel over and over again on multiple glasses, it tends to be more damp than dry and sometimes can carry an odor so that odor is what the customer is left smelling . My spritz was not bad but my wine smelled like a dirty rag. That's the first thing you smelled when you smelled the wine glass instead of the Beautiful notes from the wine so that's a small fix. We can fix that. Please get some new towels or make sure your glasses don't smell like an old rag. It is just unpleasant for your customers. Also don't let the food take 45 minutes. It just is just an unpleasant experience for your customers. Nobody has that much time to come and sit in a restaurant and wait and wait and wait and there's no bread. There's nothing you're doing, but just sitting there waiting and on top of that, the drinks take forever to get there ( and I was sitting at the bar) , We have to do something about that speed. In conclusion, I am not gonna give up on you. I will be back. I'll try some more different items on the menu and then I'll give a proper judgment..

If I could give zero stars, I would. This restaurant isn't even worth one star. When we first arrived, there were crumbs all over our table and chairs. The service was extremely poor from the start. When our food came out, we quickly realized it was cold. We tried to find our waitress to let her know, but she was nowhere to be found. The man sitting at the front eventually came over, and I told him that the soup was cold and that the food overall was not what we expected. His response was, "Yeah, because the soup is cold. I'll heat it up." He then took it back and had it microwaved. At this point, it was very obvious that we were unhappy with the meal and the service. Yet, rather than apologize or offer any kind of reasonable solution, he came back and took $2 off a $16 soup. No apology, no acknowledgment of how unacceptable the experience was, just a smile as if nothing was wrong. And then there was the sandwich I ordered... I honestly don't know how this was considered acceptable to serve. The presentation was awful, and there was literally a huge block of cheese hanging out of the sandwich. See the picture below. I don't expect a sandwich to be perfect, but this looked like something that was thrown together without any care. Between the poor service, cold food, lack of communication, and overall presentation, this was an extremely disappointing experience. I will never return, and I would absolutely not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are plenty of places where you can spend $16 on soup and expect it to at least arrive hot and your concerns to be taken seriously.

Croque monsieur

My daughter and I went to lunch today at Riviera89. So glad this has opened in Nocatee. We both got the Croque Monsieur. It was large and delicious and you wanted to lick the bechamel sauce off the plate, but our good manners prevailed. We got the pain au chocolat to finish and delicious does not cover it. Warm and buttery with melted bittersweet chocolate. The best! As they have just opened please give them grace for timing. Worth the wait! Worth a drive if you don't live in Nocatee! They have cocktails, beer and wine, too. We didn't imbibe at lunch!

This French restaurant is located in a charming 3-story historic Jefferson house, once owned by Thomas Jefferson's great-granddaughter, Maria Jefferson Eppes Shine. The restaurant is on the first floor, with the entrance tucked away in the back. They have parking in the back. The second and third floors are home to a cozy Bed and Breakfast. We arrived right at 6 p.m. and were seated at a special table by the window. The restaurant isn't huge, but it has a lovely atmosphere. Renee was our server and treated us to a complimentary champagne for the occasion. She explained the menu and the specials. The Chefs Dinner Menu was fascinating, but unfortunately, I don't eat lamb. The menu changes frequently, so I'll definitely check it out again in the future and pair it with the optional Sommelier's wine pairing. There are so many wonderful choices, but I finally decided on the Bouillabaisse, remembering all the positive comments on Yelp. When my order arrived, it was presented on a large platter with a gorgeous display. It tasted as good as it looked, with the lobster eyes staring at me. It was a whole lobster, conveniently cut, which made it easier to eat. The combination of lobster, shrimp, mussels, and clams in a saffron-flavored broth was amazing. I'm so glad I chose it. My husband opted for the Steak au Poivre with Pomme Aligot. It's mashed potatoes with melted cheese, butter, and cream. The texture was a bit tougher than regular mashed potatoes, but still delicious. I tasted his filet, and it was so tender. He loves the poivre sauce on his steak. Renee recommended all the wines we picked. We started with the complimentary Frederic Chopin Brut Blanc de Blanc, and we really liked it, so we ordered more. For my meal, I had the Barbebelle Rosé, and my husband had the Peyrassol Merlot Syrah blend. Both wines complemented our meal perfectly. We did run into an issue with my Bouillabaisse, as it was a bit too salty. The manager, Parnos, came and apologized and had the chef prepare a new batch for me. They fixed the problem right away. I'm really impressed with the service, the amazing food, and the beautiful restaurant that's now La Nouvelle. They even gave me an amazing dessert with a birthday candle for free! It had a chocolate center, a crispy crust, whipped cream topping with chocolate morsels. La Nouvelle was outstanding in so many ways, making my birthday super special.

A Christmas Day with a View to Remember - for sure…read more.. My son now lives in Jacksonville, Florida, and for Christmas Day he wanted to do something fun and festive. After searching around, he snagged a reservation at St. George in St. Augustine, right across from the fort--and honestly, that alone set the stage for a special evening. St. Augustine was packed (as expected for Christmas and Nights of Lights), and the restaurant itself is on the cozy side. There are only a few tables downstairs, which also houses the kitchen and bar, while the main dining area is upstairs along with a balcony. We truly lucked out because we landed what felt like the best table in the house--right in the center of the upstairs balcony, overlooking the fort and the Christmas trolleys rolling by for the Night of Lights parade. That view absolutely made the night magical. Service-wise, our waitress was incredibly kind and welcoming--lots of smiles and great energy. That said, some of the banter felt a bit overdone. For example, we were told there were over 600 reservations that day, which felt a little hard to believe given the restaurant size and table turnover. Still, we did feel lucky to be there, especially on such a busy holiday. Food and drinks were good, though not necessarily standout for the price point. Wine pours and menu pricing were fair, but not what I'd typically expect for a really great glass of wine or a beautifully plated meal. However--the absolute highlight of the night was the prime rib. They had just made a fresh batch, and you could tell. The cut was massive, incredibly fresh, and honestly large enough to share between the three of us, which worked perfectly since we weren't super hungry. We shared an appetizer, enjoyed the prime rib, had a couple glasses of wine, and called it a night--simple and satisfying. Overall, I'd rate this experience between a 3.5 and 4, but I'm giving it a solid 4 stars because it was Christmas Day, incredibly busy, and the staff handled it all with great attitudes and smiles. Would I return? That's still up in the air. It feels a bit pricey for what you get, and I might explore other options next time--but hey, it is St. Augustine. All in all, it was a good night, made special by spending Christmas together and enjoying a truly beautiful, unforgettable view.

The inside is very nice but the balcony is for your where it's at. Just amazing views. Probably one of the best in Downtown St Augustine. We looked over the menu and I will say both food and drinks were more on the pricy side but nothing crazy. None of their cocktails were calling my name so I went with a glass (or 2) of the Riesling for $10. The menu had a lot that sounded good: Mains, Handhelds, and of course Breakfast options. Our waitress was very helpful going over the options and what was good. I of course ended up on one of my brunch classics, Shrimp and Grits. Our food came out after 15 minutes after ordering. I will say this was were things were lacking. The Shrimp & Grits was just kind of bland. It was stated that the shrimp were blackened which they had some seasoning but still didn't give them the flavor it needed. The Andouille Sausage seemed like your typical Hillshire Farms and didn't help with more flavor either. I will say the shrimp were cooked perfectly which for sure saved the dish. I would come back for the views, service, and drinks, but might be passing up on food next time.
