    Seared Yellowfin Tuna
    Lea P.

Celebrated my birthday here. Located beside Cinnotis, the place looks small outside but surprisingly can accommodate more people. There are more than enough parking spaces for the customers. For starters, we tried the Seared Yellowfin Tuna, which was beautifully prepared but a little on the salty side due to the sauce. For our mains, my husband went with the Crispy Duck, which was indeed crispy and flavorful, though the sauce was a tad too sweet for our liking. I opted for the Puttanesca pasta, substituting angel hair with pappardelle. It was a great choice, rich in flavor, with a generous portion of pasta that I thoroughly enjoyed. To cap off the meal, I was offered a complimentary dessert and chose the Tiramisu. It was divine! Light, creamy, and not too sweet, making for an excellent end to the evening. We paired it with a cappuccino, which was the perfect complement to the dessert. Overall, this restaurant offers a cozy yet spacious setting with great service and a menu that caters to various tastes. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or just enjoying a nice meal out, it's definitely worth a visit.

We dined in on a reservation and were seated promptly despite the restaurant being very full. The ambiance is fun with a cork ceiling and walls full of Christmas decor. We enjoyed the crab cakes which were crisp and flavorful and the mozzarella was fresh. We enjoyed the sea bass which was flaky and well seasoned, the carbonara had the perfect amount of sauce and the pistachio ravioli had a nice crunch. The pasta was fresh and cooked to perfection. We enjoyed the meal and service albeit an expensive meal we would definitely return

Dwight's Bistro is hands down my favorite restaurant in Jax Beach! What truly sets it apart is the incredible service. Everyone goes above and beyond, and you can tell the owners genuinely care about every guest's experience. The crab cakes are the best I've ever had, and I'm still dreaming about that filet. Enjoy this photo of my empty plate because my phone never eats first at Dwight's!

I think I had the best meal in the Jacksonville area at Dwight's, and now I'm afraid to go back since I can't imagine a second visit being any better... I'll have to challenge myself and get back there. First off, the service from Sean/Shawn?? was top-notch. Just the right level of making me feel like we're old friends against the backdrop of that friend serving me in a way that I could have requested anything imaginable. When I ask for a recommendation between two items, he reinforced that at Dwight's, the first answer is "yes" and then it's just a question of how... He ended up bringing me both items that I couldn't choose between and didn't even charge extra for that. The lamb chops were incredible (veal was pretty good too), the shrimp casino appetizer was one of the best apps I've ever had, I only wish I had saved room for dessert. Pricing is a little bit higher end, but certainly not anything out of line for the quality and quantity of food, combined with the incredible service. Reservations were easy to make online, noting that my wife and I enjoyed sitting in the dining room - it seems that there were many other people who prefer to sit bar side so they could watch the cooking happen. I wouldn't necessarily say that the decor is anything that necessarily resonated with me either outside the restaurant or in the dining room, but it was a comfortable setting in a classic European theme. Historically when people have asked me what my favorite / interesting restaurant is in the Jacksonville area I haven't had an answer... Now I will clearly say, "just go to Dwight's."

Tonight was our first time eating at this restaurant and it was a real treat. The ambiance is cozy and romantic. Service from Sean was also great. We started with the shrimp casino. The menu has plenty of great sounding appetizers and entrees. My husband was between the lamb chops and the veal piccata and asked Sean for a recommendation. He then said you could get a half of each entree, which had never been offered to us in all of our years of eating out. My husband loved both items. I opted for the scallops, which are served scampi style. They came with a big portion of delicious carrots as well as green beans and one pistachio ravioli. For dessert we had the apple crisp, also delicious.

We were given a gift card by one of my husband's clients and were happy to try it again for the first time in years. We were told to sit at the bar and watch the team cook. You will need to reserve these seats a few weeks in advance as there are only 6 bar seats. It was a fun experience but I think I would choose a table next time to be a little more comfortable. I did not remember what we had on our last visit, but we ended up ordering pretty much the same things with a few exceptions. The bread to start with is delicious! Warm soft center with a nice crust. Hubby had the 1/2 spinach salad and I had the 1/2 chopped without bacon or onion. Still large portions for both. I chose the angel hair puttanesca with no anchovies or onions and light garlic. It was delicious and a huge portion! I couldn't even eat 1/3 of it. Hubby had the crab cake dinner and loved it. He said they have some of the best crab cakes he has ever had. We shared a crème brûlée dessert that was good but torched a little too much. I took my own wine and their corkage fee is $25. A bit high for this area. Hubby enjoyed some light beers. Our server Gary was very nice and able to accommodate all our requests. True authentic Italian fare. We will go back soon. Reservations recommended.

Lived in Jacksonville for 3 years and never heard of this hidden gem. I would have never expected such amazing, authentic Italian with an intimate atmosphere. The food was to die for. From the handmaid bread, to the freshly made pasta carbonara. The highly rated (MASSIVE) pork chop was so good. And the CRAB CAKES! From someone born and raised on the eastern shore of Maryland, Delaware, and Chesapeake, I approve of the crab cakes (and that's saying a lot!). The service was amazing from the host staff, server, and bus boys frequently refilling your drink. I can't wait to go back. Perfect date night spot!!

Excellent service from Katie. Everyone was friendly. Private room for party of 18. Preset meal "schmear" ... food very good! 6-courses with choice of entree. The filet was easily one of the most tender. Told the scallops were delicious & many got the sea bass - while nice and flaky - wasn't as flavorful as expected. The homemade lemon cake was a nice finish. All in a cool place to dine & celebrate. Open for dinner. Next to Cinnoti's ... share parking lot.

Second time here. Such a cute little place. I really loved their decor and all the little touches. We had filet and lamb chops, both amazing. My fav was the tuna appetizer though, very generous portion and great quality tuna. Service was on point too: our waitress checked on us frequently and water was refilled throughout the dinner too.

Amazing and delicious food!! We had early reservations, and trust me you will need reservations! There are many locals who knows of this spot and it's been around for years. Homemade pastas, bread, everything! Now I will say, do not let the plating of the food fool you...it isn't your typical Picadilly cafe food - it's flavorful, worth every bite, and leaves a mark on the tongue...mouthwatering! Will come back again.

The mediterranean nachos were deceiving because it was more like a platter of hummus/tzatziki than nachos and the pita was way too salty. The steak frites was a little overcooked to medium well when we asked for med rare, but truffle fries were delicious of course. Even with the slight imperfections, I still give them 5 stars because the overall experience was unforgettable!!

This will be a longer review, but hopefully helpful for those that share our passion and want to get an idea of the impeccable dining experience we received! Cuisine, beverage, service and ambiance were all beautifully represented in a tour de force Bordeaux wine dinner at JJ's Liberty Bistro in Ponte Vedra this last Saturday. Each course was one foodie thrill after another! On the heels of an exquisite Valentine's Day meal (reviewed on this site), we jumped at the opportunity to experience Chef Oscar Perez' masterful creations expertly paired with wines from the beautiful Château Lagrange. For wine enthusiasts, this is a historic French Third Growth Bordeaux estate in the Saint-Julien appellation, known for its powerful, complex red wines made primarily from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Taking an already-elevated dining experience to another level, owner JJ brought Château Lagrange's General Manager and Winemaker Matthieu Bordes along with US Manager Marie Gabriele and Importer Patrick Leveque to thoughtfully discuss each pairing from wine composition, regional history, vine age, crop yields, flavor profile, and so much more. My wife and I were fortunate to sit alongside them as we dined, talking about their passion for crafting amazing product, sharing their extensive knowledge, and exhibiting immense patience as I attempted to recall my French vocabulary! They were warm, generous and delightful company who we look forward to seeing again when next they return to JJ's. As is a hallmark of dining at JJ's, the service was elegant and fluid, timed with precision like a beautiful dance. We began with Stuffed Mussels w/Crepinette, paired with a white 2022 Les Arums De Lagrange. The white wine served as not only a palate cleanser, but also gave gorgeous floral and buttery notes that balanced the mussels perfectly. Next came a light Sheepshead Bordelaise, SO tender and sauced expertly to ensure each flavor could be tasted rather than overwhelming the palate with one versus another (wonderfully paired with a 2016 Haut Medoc De Lagrange). Pictured below, you can see how beautiful the plating was, as with all dishes that evening. One of two favorites on the night...impossible to choose...was the Squab two ways (pigeon, akin to duck), served with Dutchess potato. Rich and decadent, this was a gorgeous pairing with the Merlot-dominant 2017 Les Fiefs De Lagrange. I'll be thinking about this dish for a long, long time! Lamb Loin is a perennial favorite, perfectly cooked and sauced, accompanied by the most delicious mushroom soufflé we'd ever tasted. The flavors melded together seamlessly, enhanced further by each sip of the bold, fruit forward 2018 Chateau Lagrange St Julien. The Cabernet-dominant blend was magnificent, age worthy but very approachable now - we took home a winemaker signed bottle! Finally, we came to a very special dessert not often found outside of the France, Caneles de Bordeaux. It has a dense texture with a slight crisp exterior, and was created to use the yellow of the egg; in the past, the whites were used to filter the wines. Delectable and unique, capping off a truly memorable event! We were thrilled to learn that JJ hosts these amazing dinners monthly, so I've included a picture of the upcoming schedule. They have a tendency to sell out (as with the dinner we attended), so recommend calling the number below and booking early! If anyone would like to experience something truly special and intimate, where the outside world melts away and you can truly indulge your senses, this checks all of the boxes and places itself among the finest beginning-to-end dining experiences available to the public. Salut, et bon appetite!! JJ's Liberty Bistro 330 A1A N #209, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL 32082 (904) 273-7980

We had decaf espresso's and split a coconut macron (highly recommend!) and a coffee meringue (delightful) for dessert. We were checked on often by our server and JJ the owner stopped by multiple times. After we finished lunch JJ helped us with recommendations on a few French wines we wanted to try! We signed up for a Burgundy Dinner at the end of the month, so I know we will be back soon! I highly recommend JJ's Bistro! 5 stars!

Well, I have to say that this restaurant can compete with the best in NYC, New Haven, and Providence or Boston! First and foremost, the service was top notch. I used to absolutely love this place. It was our go-to for seafood, celebrations, family dinners,…read moreand special occasions for years. We recommended it constantly and genuinely enjoyed supporting them. Unfortunately, after our last few experiences, that loyalty is completely gone. The problems really started during a dinner visit with my spouse. We had a reservation for two and specifically requested a booth because my spouse has herniated discs and booths are much easier on her back. The hostess with glasses told us there were "no booths available for parties of two," so we were seated at a tiny two-top directly in front of an empty booth. Minutes later, another couple - who apparently didn't even have the correct downstairs reservation because Wheel House was closed for a private event - was seated in that exact booth instead. When I politely questioned it, I was told they were "accommodating them." Interesting, because apparently accommodating a medical issue for customers with a reservation didn't matter. Still, we decided to give the restaurant another chance for Mother's Day. To their credit, we were seated at a booth this time after I both noted it in the reservation and called ahead to confirm it. Our waiter was someone we immediately recognized from a previous visit, and my parents mentioned he had waited on us before at that same table. Somehow, from that comment alone, he became convinced we were related to Chef Tim Tillus. From there, things got bizarre. He kept talking about "Timmy," mentioning reunions and saying he used to live with him. The restaurant was extremely loud, and my father had forgotten his hearing aids that day, so honestly we could barely understand what he was talking about. We just smiled politely and focused on asking about the menu because we truly had no clue where the conversation was going. Eventually, he came back and realized we were NOT Chef Tim Tillus' family. He then explained that the kitchen staff had apparently been laughing because the chef saw us and said, "That's not my family." So somehow this became a whole ordeal in the kitchen over a completely innocent misunderstanding. We laughed awkwardly because what else do you do at that point? But honestly, the whole interaction felt strange and unprofessional. Unfortunately, the food was even worse than the awkward service. My spouse ordered the all-day seafood soup, and somehow there was basically ZERO seafood in it. That alone was shocking because their soups used to be incredible. My father ordered the broiled platter, and the portion size was honestly embarrassing for a $29 dish. His parsley potatoes consisted of literally five tiny cubes - my mother counted them because we were in disbelief. We have eaten here for years and NEVER saw portions this small. I ordered the fish special, and it was nothing like described. It was supposed to have pecans and blackening seasoning. There were no pecans, no blackening seasoning, and the fish itself was dry, bland, overcooked, and flavorless. For $32, I was served what looked like a tiny sad pile of fish in the middle of a giant empty plate. The pork chop looked beautiful but tasted absolutely awful. At this point I honestly don't know if the kitchen quality has completely collapsed or if nobody is checking food before it leaves the line anymore. Either way, it was terrible. My mother ordered scallops on the half shell as her meal - something she has enjoyed there many times before. This time, the scallops were tiny and somehow greasy. It was shocking these dishes were even leaving the kitchen. What makes this so disappointing is that we truly loved this restaurant. We weren't casual customers. We supported this place for years because we believed the food and experience were worth it. This wasn't just a mediocre meal or an "off night." This was a genuinely terrible dining experience from start to finish, made worse by the fact that it happened on Mother's Day. The service felt awkward and disorganized, the portions were insulting, the food quality was awful, and there seemed to be zero quality control happening anywhere. At this point, our money will be supporting other establishments instead. It's honestly sad because this place USED to be special. I sincerely hope management fixes the kitchen, consistency, and overall professionalism before even more longtime customers walk away.
