And for some reason the superchargers here charges faster than the other superchargers in California. This is a must stop when ever I go snow boarding in Tahoe. It is odd that there's a supercharger station in North Star village which is very close this station. Doesn't really matter, more charging stations the better for the environment. I love tesla and thanks to Elon for creating such a company that's looking out for the future of everyone and the future. I can't wait for what's in store for all the tesla owners because Elon always has some good surprises lined up.

Honestly, I'm not too surprised I'm the first person to review Donner Gas. It's a rather…read morenondescript gas station just south of the Soda Spring exit on I-80, 13 miles west of Truckee. It's owned by the Wells family who also own the Nyack Shell. Why do I know so much? Last week, I was stranded there for over six hours waiting for a tow from AAA when my car broke down. (As an aside, AAA didn't come for 11 hours-- thanks for nothing). It was quite cold in my car, so I took frequent breaks inside the store. This is what I learned: *Donner Gas has a core group of people who are very nice and care about their jobs. They keep a very clean and well organized shop. *Bathrooms are accessed from the outside, and unlocked. You don't have to fuss with a pesky key. *The store has a variety of healthy food. Interspersed with the typical junk food are cheese sticks, raw nuts, cereal, bananas, and a selection of fresh salads and sandwiches. They also have some frozen meals (eg: burritos) and a handy microwave for defrosting your lunch. In other words, you can eat well if you want to! *Store also sells a variety of household and automotive items-- wine openers, motor oil, Tahoe souvenirs. *There is a large heater in the back that you can stand next to and warm up. Mostly, the staff were very welcoming and accepting of me and my teenage son. I appreciate that they let me hang around their store for so long! The store is also called "Sugar Bowl gas" for reasons I don't quite understand. Hope you get to drop by, but not because you have been stranded for hours.

We each got a Pizzete (perfect size for one person + leftovers and you get to customize it however you like) and the Caesar salad. Hands down the BEST Caesar I have ever had! The dressing was so flavorful, love when you can taste the garlic and anchovy in there. They also pleasantly surprised us with 2 big garlic sticks on top of the salad. Was a great meal and very easy to bring home and eat after a busy day. Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in the area!

The chicken parmigiana came with pesto pasta, which was a bit bland, but the chicken parmigiana itself had so much extra cheese and sauce, you can make the pesto pasta a regular spaghetti. The bbq chicken pizza was okay. I liked the bbq sauce, but my boyfriend wish there was more of it. Get the pasta bread! Or order an entree that comes with it, like we did with the chicken parmigiana! My boyfriend also got some beers, but he wanted a glass of wine, which apparently they ran out.
