My husband and I tried this place for the first time. We eat out quite a bit and we are pretty picky. Our first impress was good. We were greeted by Jerad, who would be our server. He was perfect at every step. Many regulars were here and the energy was good. The cocktail menu is creative with a huge collection of spirits. Hubby had a philly cheese sando that he loved and enjoyed the leftovers the next day. Great onion rings! I had a great tasting burger that had bacon ground in the burger meat. However, the bread it was served on fell apart immediately and I had trouble eating it. (knife and fork) According to the menu, it usually comes on a bun. I will know next time. I'm so glad this isn't on my side of town as the only option to get out and eat and have a cold brew. We ordered corona with lime. Assumed it would come in the bottle as typically does unless server says it's only on draft. Note to server. Ugh... I haven't been here in years and now I remember why. What turned me off more than the size of fish pieces was the sticky 3/4 used bottle of malt vinegar we had to get up and ask for because of lack of service:( when you wait and have to get up to start your meal.... because you can't get the attention of your server.... no good. I had to use the bathroom and I basically lost my appetite all together. Doors going in... so sticky. The swinging doors. Then, bathroom #1. Gross... I wanted to throw up. Backed up with poop in it. #2. Stall... wet floor near toilet, zero TP in holder which looked like it held 2 rolls... and the one on top was sopping wet and zero toilet seat covers!! On to stall #3. Last chance. No TP again.. no toilet seat covers and a small amount left on roll sitting on top off TP holder! Now, ladies... we all know that roll has to be touched to use it , and most likely has rolled off ... so so disgusting especially during covid!! Trough sink is nice but hard to look at Because it looked like someone spit out their food particles in it. So, for filthy-ness of bathroom zero stars. ** Seriously shameful with that amount of people on staff. No excuse for that!! Management needs a slap on the hands for this! No paper towels. Steph even remembered our choice of drink and her recommendations are always on point. I have not been here since it first opened. I decided to come back and try it out. I ordered a Blackberry Hard Apple Cider and it was sweet with good flavors. I had the Turkey Cranberry Sandwich with Fries. The sandwich had smoked Turkey, cream cheese, cranberry sauce, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion. It was very delicious. I also had an ice water with lemon. The server was really nice and very attentive. My only advice would be not to wear cologne while serving food. read more

Music - great! 80's/90's vibe. Portions- Huge, we had dinner that night also. Price- pricier, but portions made up for it. Onion ring basket was huge. Service- Was alright, this young girl blonde seemed to be doing everything and taking care of us so we gave her a break. Taste- below par. "Guilt fries" pulled pork was literally just shredded pork, no flavor. the cheese and beans almost saved it. My recommendation- change it to BBQ pulled pork, remove the beans, and add coleslaw and cilantro. If we were drunk, this would be the best food on the planet. We went here for my nephews 27 birthday. We were a fairly large group total of 9 I felt that the food was good and generous portion. My sister and I were even able to share the dill pickle burger which by the way was scrumptious and well prepared. The birthday boy was pleased as well. Friday night dinner out; got here at 6 thankful we did to get a seat before the crowd came in. My drink was a Mexican Standoff~ only complaint about it was it wasn't large for the price. Food was so overpriced and just didn't taste good. The short rib dinner was 3 extremely fatty, overly salted, dry little pieces of meat. The broccoli and mashed potatoes were bland. The fish and chips were cooked too long- very browned- burnt tasting, hardly any fish- mostly breading, French fries were soggy. Service was just so-so, she took our order, brought food, had to ask for silverware and napkins then she didn't return again until we flagged her down for the bill. Very disappointed overall. As a first time visit the service itself was wonderful. As soon as we walked in me and my party were greeted and sat quickly and met our server who was also wonderful and attentive. In regards to our food it was okay slightly expensive for the amount and they charged for everything including changing the type of bread. I was considering ordering the pasta but that did not come with a side salad of any kind which was disappointing. The presentation was definitely the most disappointing our order of union rings were served to us in a ball shape and looked unappealing. I would love to come back for a second attempt in the future but the pricing for the food preparation and amount leaves a sour taste in my mouth for a return visit. Welp. ‍ Popped in a few times for to go orders through quarantine (support small businesses and all that) but stopped when I saw they weren't really trying. Partitions but no masks... When I went to get my last order the waitress was not happy (I mean I left a tip and all that). I could tell she thought I was an inconvenience. My food about thunked off the desk at pickup. They're finally wearing masks as of this week but their post kind of killed it for me. I don't play politics over science. The server seemed more interested in what more she could get us to order rather than checking on the food that hadn't come out. The pastas were fairly good. The girlfriend had the Madison Ave and I had the Cajun Shrimp Penne (removed broccoli). Good flavor on both. Server seemed a little distant and "order takey" when she was trying to add on but not attentive to needs of refills or plate removal (table was small). Finally there was a band which was fine. My girlfriends and I had lunch at Rivets probably 10 or 15 years ago. While we liked the food, at the time we thought $17 for a sandwich was completely outrageous. We get bored with the options here in Modesto, so we decided to try Rivets again. Again the prices are astronomical. A sandwich should not cost $20. I ordered the cod bites and fries. Cod is a very mild fish. The fish I got was very very fishy. The taste was way too strong for a fresh fish. I really couldn't eat it. Everyone had a slightly negative comment about their meals. We would give them another try, but their prices are stupid! I know that prices of risen, and it's hard to do business, specially in the restaurant industry, but they seem to be gouging the people who purchase from them. We thought we would give Rivets a second try after the first was a fail, thinking just a bad day. I ordered Chicken Dumpling Soup with garlic bread. The first time the soup was brought out, it wasn't even warm. It was as thick as oatmeal, I thought that was because it wasn't warm. Then, when they brought it back after warming it, it still was like oatmeal. Yuck! And there was no chicken in it at all. It was a straight-up rue (flour and some kind of fat). Now, let's talk about the garlic bread! I don't know how you can ruin a piece of bread, but they did, flat as a piece of paper. I could just see Gordon Ramsey spitting that soup out! I wanted to like this place so bad but unfortunately I had the worst experience. On a fairly slow Saturday afternoon that looked fully staffed, I came to have a burger with my hubs because we've been wanting to try the burgers here. Bad choice lol. Food is nothing to write home to mom about. But the experience I had is really why I won't come back. Food took longer than average for the amount of customers/staff there. Also waiter did not have a notebook when taking our order. He ended up giving me a Sound the Alarm burger instead of the Killer 80/20 burger I ordered. I was famished when the food arrived so I didn't even notice I had the wrong burger. I started with the sidewinder fries which were good I'm not gonna lie. I started eating my burger and realized it was spicy lol I thought I was tripping and took a few more bites. Then I realized WTF this ain't my 80/20 (disclaimer: yes I did smoke tons of legal cannabis before I came here ) once I realized I had the wrong burger I was pretty disappointed. They did give me the correct burger because they wouldn't just remove the burger from the check, so I said fuck it and just took it Togo. My advice, servers should use a notebook when taking orders. Oh and that's not even the best part I can't even make this ish up. We wanted to leave so went to the cashier who said our bill was $47, paid $100 to cashier and waiter came up and told us he'd be back with change. We waited and waited and he finally came back with 3 $10s 1 $5 and 4 $1s ..... ummm ok what happened to the other $12+/- so we asked for our receipt which took forever by the way then he finally came back with our change and our receipt saying he forgot to void the wrong burger ....... But the cashier already told us our total so I'm a bit confused why he tried even tried to give us change without our receipt in the first place, this entire experience all and all just rubbed me the wrong way. So unfortunately I will NEVER come back to this establishment ever again and I will not recommend anyone to come here. read more

So this is hard because we love Rivets for lunch or dinner. We decided to try breakfast and we were very disappointed. The breakfast menu was pretty limited in comparison to the regular menu. My son and husband each got a breakfast burrito. From pictures in Yelp we expected a pretty large burrito. But pretty small burritos are what arrived. Just placed on a plate, nothing special about it. I ordered brioche fried French toast with powdered sugar and caramel Maple syrup. The burritos actually had good flavor. The issue was that the potatoes inside were not fully cooked, they were in fact cold. When the French toast arrived the toppings were not there. No syrup on the table. The didn't really have any flavor and I couldn't tell if it even was brioche. When I asked where the toppings were they took it away and brought it back with toppings. They explained that someone is new. Not sure, didn't really make sense. Btw. The coffee was horrible. I think they need to stick to lunch and dinner. We will be back but not for breakfast. read more

I live just blocks from this place and saw the breakfast sign today and had to stop in. Wife had the breakfast burrito, which was huge, and I had the French toast. We came in around 0900hrs and no wait, service was quick and on point. And I must say, everything was two thumbs up but the coffee was surprisingly good. No ding at the place but I always assume bad coffee. But I was wrong! I will be coming back for breakfast again. read more
