Two stars because the servers are very friendly. Had the burger and asked if it was American cheese that came on it, waitress said "i think so?...yes it is American." It was Swiss. The quality of the burger was right in the middle of low grade and non-edible. Fries were okay. Anyone who gives the food a 4-5 star review caught them on a great day, or just hasn't eaten any food outside their home town. read more

Awesome breakfast/lunch restaurant that is not at all what it seems from the outside. Cozy, clean and comfortable, we were greeted by the friendly staff and sat ourselves. Had the homemade corned beef hash (so good!!!) and eggs breakfast, with a single pancake. Everything was hot, delicious and expertly prepared. Certainly not a fine dining joint if that's what you're looking for, more of a come as you are family/townie place. This is hands down our new little breakfast spot and so glad we have it a shot! read more

Worst breakfast I've ever had. Cheese was cold and unmelted on top of my undercooked hash omelette. Toast was served cold with the butter in cold packets on the side. The entire breakfast tasted as if it were cooked on a grill with old bacon grease. I definitely don't recommend this place despite the staff being very friendly. read more

We went to the cafe for breakfast. There were a couple of open seats at the counter. All the patrons were visibly enjoying their meals. There was such a nice atmosphere that patrons were talking to other parties. We spoke to a couple who were visiting friends and were waiting for the Patriots game. I got the homemade corned beef. It was truly homemade. The beef was perfectly cooked and the potatoes were of a hand mashed consistency. The eggs were cooked perfectly. My boyfriend got a side of fruit salad. It had at least 6 different hand cut fruits in it and came in a fairly large dish. This was to replace the home fries that came with the meal so it was no extra charge. Fantastic! I went to the Riverside Cafe alone a different time for breakfast as a treat. I thought I saw biscuits and gravy on the menu but didn't see it. When I asked if it was a regular item she said it wasn't but immediately offered to see if she had the ingredients to make it for me! Will definitely come back alone or would gladly bring friends. read more

Riverside delivered on exactly what you would hope for from a small town family diner and then some! The food was great, hash was home made with huge pieces of corned beef! Everything came to order and was delicious. The staff is amazingly friendly and the whole atmosphere makes you feel just like a native who had been there 100 times. Home fries were my favorite, very crispy! Staff was really nice, food was overall good. Had my eggs over easy and it was made nicely, Irish Benedict was decent. Coffee was a little bland, but I'm okay with. Decoration was nice, liked the leaf tablecloth for the fall season. Overall, 4 stars because the sausage was a little too burnt for my liking. read more

Way too cramped ! This place is packed with only 20 ppl in here. We went on a hot day, no AC at all place was stifling HOT. Sat down to syrup all over the table. Had to have the waitress re-wipe the table AND had to point out the syrup. Need more (or more attentive) staff. Waited 20 minutes for a chocolate milk to be made. Waitresses walk by 50 times without checking to see if you need anything. Saying excuse me ma'am doesn't seem to help either. Skip this place ! read more

*No air conditioning!* We went on a Sunday morning at 10. I walked in to put our name in and had to wait close to 5 minutes for someone to even acknowledge me. They stuck the five of us at a table that looked like it should've sat two. Had to have the waitress wipe our table down as there was syrup all over it. The staff was friendly enough when you could grab their attention. Food was ok, although it was too hot inside to even enjoy it. Definitely need about 3-4 more staff members to help the place run more efficiently. Will probably not be going back. read more

Good Lord. This is where indulgence becomes epic. Not so very telling from the store front outside or the location, but if you can take in French toast without much guilt, good coffee and likely the best sausages you can eat, skip trying to jump through I-Hoops and usual places. The service is great, the place is always busy and the scenery with old fashioned kitchen decor is a nice touch. For about $11 you're going to walk away happy and maybe with a waddle, like a fat cat. Save the excuses and try the specials. They aim to please and the place is nothing to sneeze at. Yum. read more

Absolutely delicious little gem. Went here for breakfast today and everything was wonderful from service to food. All staff were incredibly friendly and kind. We had monte cristo sandwich, waffle, French toast and a cinnamon bun. All of it was delicious! So much so that we plan to return for breakfast tomorrow! If you want a real big and crispy side of bacon this is you place! The way they cook it is awesome! I've been coming here for a quite a while with my mom it's one of my favorite breakfast places around, each time I go I try to order something different but I always end up getting the same thing, bacon, 2 fried eggs cooked medium and well done home fries and grilled English muffins. I have never gone to a restaurant that when I ask for my home fries to be well done do they comply. At riverside they are cooked to perfection just like I ask. The amount of bacon they give is awesome and service is pretty quick, waitresses are always kind and sometimes there's a long wait! But it's expected when food is that good. read more

We had been here a few times before and had a great experience, great food great service. Sadly, that seems to not be the case anymore. We walked in and sat at the counter (partially because no one acknowledged us, and there were open seats). For the next 10-15 minutes we watched the waitresses walk back and forth in front of us without even making eye contact. I was close enough to have tapped them on the shoulder. My husband finally asked one of them if we could get some service. The food was fine, service was fine. As we sat there, we kept hearing comments that clearly indicated it was not a good day. One told the others I dont think anyone is greeting the people coming in the door. A few minutes later another said I think the couple at that table have been sitting there a long time. It's a small place, everything is easily within sight, and they had plenty of wait staff. I was baffled that they were so disorganized. read more

We stopped in for breakfast. This was a tiny little establishment right downtown and don't blink or you may miss it. The staff was exceedingly friendly. The restaurant was packed with locals. After sitting down we were quickly approached and asked if we wanted coffee. Not only was the service great, the coffee was great and the mugs were huge. The menu choices were extensive for breakfast and lunch. It was a difficult choice but we settled on the strawberry honey almond French toast and the biscuits with sausage gravy. OMG were those plates full. The food arrived hot, and the plates were overflowing. The plates were so full we had to take half of our meal home. This is definitely a restaurant we will frequent again. We loved it and we recommend it! read more

Awesome place to eat. Very friendly staff. I felt like I was at home. Their cinnamon raisin bread is awesome. Perfectly buttered and then they add cinnamon and brown sugar on top. I got the Santa Fe omelet and it actually had a lot of avacodo on it. Definitely coming back. read more

Before I get into how the food is here...Anybody remember Wise Guyz Pizza that used to be in this location? They took forever to get up and running, and when they finally opened for business, they didn't even last 3 months. Too bad, pizza was tasty. Oh, well. Anyway, my friend and I stopped here yesterday for the first time, and got breakfast. They also serve lunch, but I didn't even look at the lunch menu. They have breakfast all day long, with all the standard fare you might expect: Scrambled eggs, pancakes, waffles, omelettes, etc. I got the mini plate: 1 egg any style (I chose scrambled), home fries, and toast. It didn't come with meat, so I added a side of bacon, for a little extra charge. I also upgraded to what they called "loaded home fries" (similar to loaded bacon cheese fries some restaurants serve) that had bacon, melted cheese, and sour cream. My friend got the "Mini Riverside", which is basically the same as what I ordered, but also comes with pancakes. He got the plain home fries. To drink, we both had milk, I had plain, he got chocolate. The food was really good as far as breakfast goes. Eggs were light and fluffy, bacon was crispy, toast was brown, but not burnt. The only odd thing was, instead of being chopped up, and sprinkled on the potatoes, the bacon was left whole. However, a little "do it yourself" work fixed that quickly. My friend enjoyed his pancakes, but noted they had Vermont Maid syrup instead of real maple (of course). At first, I thought the milk had an off taste to it, but then I looked over at the fridge, and realized they gave me skim milk. I'm used to whole, or at least 2%, but I still drank it, since I was thirsty. Have to take what they got. The waitress was friendly, though I forget her name (I'm bad like that), and she seemed very attentive, despite the fact that the place was really crowded. Everyone else knew what we were just discovering: This place is great! The bill for the two of us came to $20.24. We rounded the tip up to $5. I'll definitely be back again, maybe for lunch next time. read more

I usually would go to a Diner for breakfast, just something about them. But met a friend here for breakfast and it is better than any of the diners in the area down there. Been two times now both were weekends. They tended to be very busy but the staff was very attentive. I get a standard fare kind of thing when I try out places eggs, sausage toast, homefries all of their items spot on! Another important thing, the coffee was on the better side for small places like this and both times I was there they kept the cup full without me asking at all! read more

Our coffee cups were kept full, we were checked on frequently, and the staff was super friendly. We could tell they had some regulars that frequent the place. I love everything about this restaurant!! When you walk in you are immediately greeted and told to sit where you like. It is so quaint and homey, there is so much character. None of the silverware, mugs, or plates match. We ordered basic breakfasts, eggs, meats, homefries, toast. It was delivered quickly. The food was very good!!! Huge servings, I ate what I could, my boyfriend ate half my hash and home fries and I still have a whole breakfast for tomorrow. The service is excellent, everyone worked as a team and you could tell they all liked their jobs. My only complaint is the food was a little salty for my taste. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone and I will most definitely go back when I am in the area!!!! read more
