1st time customer and very pleased with our breakfast. I ordered The Phoenix famous eggs Benedict with ham which was served on a huge freshly baked cheesey bread. My husband ordered the Tex Mex chicken omelet. Portions were huge and potatoes were perfectly seasoned. Coffee was delicious and hot. And last but not least was our outstanding waitress, Carrie. Her smile and friendly disposition was contagious and you cant help but be happy around her! Chef and counter staff was friendly as well and place was clean and bustling with hungry locals. Walked in at 9 am on a Sunday with 6 people and a half empty restaurant. Both corners open that hold more than 6 people empty. Told by wait staff that it would be a hour wait for the tables were reserved. This place is a 1st come 1st to sit place no reservations needed. But staff members was rude and said I have them reserved for my reservations. Older lady with black hair. After going there for a while and seeing the place add lunch this was the last time I try to go there for breakfast with the family. Went here a few weeks ago, hoping for the best and was pretty disappointed. We sat pretty close to where the cooks where. They were all wearing gloves but the main person was touching EVERYTHING. Saw them signs something still wearing the same gloves then go back to touching everyone's food. They did that multiple times. I'm pretty sure they never changed their gloves once I'm the hour that I was there. Then someone came in that everyone knew with their kid and all the cooks came running to hug the kid touching the kid while wearing gloves then went back to cooking and touching the food . . . . wearing the same gloves. I am going to start by saying amber our server was AWESOME. Very busy place but only had to wait maybe 10 minutes for a seat. Ordered basics- but all of us stipulated we want our home fries well done. . Our home fries were not only NOT well down- they were barely cooked. Very starchy inside. Went here with my parents and was extremely disappointed. When we arrived we were told the wait would be a couple minutes, and ended up waiting for nearly half an hour. The place was loud and the kitchen was open and connected to the rest of the restaurant. Our waitress was very nice but that was the only upside. I was really disappointed with this restaurant. I ordered a Belgian waffle. Although the menu promised that it was light and fluffy, it was actually made with pancake batter, which always makes a dense, heavy waffle. My husband had pancakes, and he only ate half his meal, even though he was hungry, because he said the pancakes were "really mediocre." The butter wasn't butter, and the syrup was junk. The coffee wasn't very good. The staff was friendly and cheerful, but I wouldn't choose to eat here again. read more

Our new favorite breakfast location! I had driven by and heard of The Phoenix for a long time until finally deciding to go one morning and we are so glad we did. The staff first off were very friendly and welcoming as soon as we walked in the door. We were seated quickly and served coffee right off the bat! Prices were great and some good options (my husband had a hard time picking from a few good sounding options). I settled for the Portuguese omelet which comes with ground linguiça, peppers, onions, and your choice of cheese. It's also served with home fries and your choice toast. My husband went with the Big Phoenix combo which comes with eggs, toast, home fries, bacon, ham, and sausage as well as French toast or pancakes. Very large portions and the food was delicious!! I highly recommend the Phoenix Eggs Benedict on a cheese roll. They make cases of bacon ahead of time for a reason. Perfectly cooked. My coffee cup remained empty, but she had such a bad attitude that I was afraid to ask her for anything. At the end she dropped the check on the table without even looking at us or saying anything and kept walking. She picked it up in the same fashion. She returned it in the same fashion. Definitely the best breakfast place we've tried so far. Blake, the waiter, was incredibly friendly and super patient with how long it took for my daughter to decide on what she wanted to eat. The restaurant was clean and comfy, the coffee flowed plentifully, and the food was amazing... Both the hubby and I got the Steak and Potato Omelette (with peppers, onions, tomatoes, and jack/cheddar cheese) with a side of Home Fries and toast (dark rye for me, wheat for the hubs), and the youngun eventually decided on the daily special - a Chicken Quesadilla. The Home Fries were out of this world, the omelette was HUGE and absolutely delicious, and the toast was perfectly toasted (I hate it when it's weirdly mushy). Great food, great service and even greater prices. By far the best breakfast/home cooked lunch spots in not only Fairhaven but Southern MA. If you go for breakfast everything is delicious but a cheese roll is a definite must and you can sub it for toast with any breakfast plate for a very minimal up charge. Horrible service for lunch the other day. Hardly anybody was there but our waitress just wasn't good. We picked a burger and two crispy chicken wraps. The burger was good. The food was ok but. They should bring all the food to the table instead of one dish at a time. I've eating breakfast at many places , but no place like this. Staff is down to earth very nice cooks are always busy .I've sat in a booth , at a table but I prefer the counter that's where the grill action is ..food is excellent from the Benny with consistent hollandaise sauce , never separated to a simple over easy egg .
