Been living in Sumner now for over 2 years and have wanted to try this place! Located beside the "Cannery" this place is small, but serves a large menu that includes wine and beer even! I like that I could have a half sandwich, and it was delicious! Hubs had the chicken caesar wrap and an italian soda and my Americano was made just right, with no bitterness. I found this place while driving around, and decided to stop in for a bite. It is a small little place with a lot of charm. The person behind the counter was very friendly. Oh my gosh it was our first time eating here... I had the Ham sandwich and my BF had the french dip. All I can say is yumm!!! They are not stingy with anything! My BF said the french dip here is wayyy better than Joe's deli & Arby's. That's a compliment since Joe's deli is our go to. The sandwich here is bigger for sure and worth every penny! This is the best place in Sumner to have a drink and get a bite to eat. The most friendly service in town and the food is incredibly fresh every time with surprisingly reasonable prices! This is a small quaint coffee shop that also is good for lunch and breakfast. The sandwiches are so good. I have tried the French dip and the turkey avocado and both were yummy. We were so excited to try Rivers Edge Cafe based off of reviews, but were left completely underwhelmed. There were a few things that I wanted to point out. First, I asked the lady helping us if they had child sizes and she said yes, they can do an 8oz. What she failed to mention is that the 8oz is the same price that they have advertised for the 12oz. Anyone with good customer service would point this out and tell you to just get the 12oz. And I say point this out because they also don't give receipts unless requested. So I suggest if you go here, ask to have your receipt so you know what you are getting charged. They also charge a .25 to go charge. I have yet to ever see a coffee stand charge a to go fee... Lastly as another review pointed out...the pastrami sandwich is horrible. They put so much sauce on it that it was inedible. We eat out a lot, and this was the 1st time I have ever thrown away food. read more

I will start off by saying the food is very good. i Had a roast beef sandwich and it was incredible. However I cannot say the same for the service... the lady at the front counter was very rude to me and my wife. She refused to serve me a beer after my wife and I showed her 4 IDs showing that we are of age... 2 of those IDs were military IDs... not only were we wrongfully turned away, but she was very rude about the situation. I came here for the first time probably like 15 minutes before breakfast was over. I was really bummed out that I cannot order breakfast anymore. I did get the Caesar wrap and the pastrami though. My Caesar wrap was amazing. Probably the best one I've ever tried. My husband said the pastrami sandwich wasn't all that great. Tried this place for the first time today with my boyfriend and we are very satisfied! I ordered the roasted chicken and pesto sandwhich and my boyfriend had the Cuban. They were both exquisite! We also ordered a chicken ceasar salad to share which was equally delicious! We're both stuffed to the brim, and still have leftovers for lunch tomorrow! Such great food for a great price! Rivers Edge serves up good, Hot coffee, just the way I prefer. I usually get an Almond milk or coconut milk latte. Sometimes they run out of oatmeal which is an indirect effect of Covid on the economy and not their fault.
