Dad's Breakfast (1 of the plates). Biscuits and gravy with sunny, happy eggs on top.

I drive 30 minutes to come to Dixies. The best diner/breakfast in Pierce County. Sunday's are hectic but the service is still fantastic, came on a Saturday and it was even better. I have worked for a few James Beard restaurants and whoever makes their Hollandaise sauce? One of the best I have had and Hollandaise sauce is a craft, like surfing...you either do it great or you suck. I love this place and worth the drive. My favorites 1. Spinach Pie eggs Benedict (extra hollandaise) 2. Spinach Pie Hobo I always order a short stack of buttermilk pancakes for the table.

Orange juice in a frozen glass- the best oj I've ever had

Food and service were great. Comfortable and quick. Waitress was very attentive and friendly

Great food. Great Service. Been coming to Dixie's for the last 15 years. My favorite is the Dad's potatoes. Today, the chicken fried steak was delicious and tender.

I will come right out and say, I generally don't stop at diners unless I've heard something great about their food. Anecdotally my experience with them is that they under season their food and are generally uninspiring. Taking my mother to breakfast while in Sumner this was the place to go on a 100-degree morning so she didn't have to wait outside in the heat. I ordered a breakfast of eggs, bacon hash browns and toast. I also got a of sausage gravy to help make the potatoes edible if they turned out flavorless. They must have been short staffed because the order came in pieces. By the time the gravy and toast made it the food was moving from warm to cool. The food itself. The only thing that made anything interesting was the sausage gravy. It wasn't just a country gravy with sausage, it had a hint of thyme which added a great flavor. However, the thyme got stuck in my teeth because they were like little hard slivers of herb. It might have been the bottom of the spice jar or put in late so it didn't have a chance to soften. While I generally do not like to give two stars, I really couldn't find anything to raise it 3 stars and don't plan on going back!

Oh and they have apple butter.

Good food, good people and good music. Our second trip for breakfast and it was perfect. Try dad's potatoes, perfectly cooked with very little salt. If you like bacon order that too. I wanted the cinnamon roll but life has me avoiding that sort of goodness. I loved the breakfast! No pictures because you need to experience it yourself.

It's my first time in but my second time eating their food. So far, food is decent, good portions, good flavors. It sucked sitting facing the windows because the sun burned my damn retinas. The wait staff was nice but real snippy. We came in like 1.5 hours before closing so maybe that was a part of it, idk.

    There was a Hangover Bowl

Yummy food. Service was good. Very nice waiter. Arnold Palmer was good. Offers a variety of hot sauces. Ambiance is cozy and delicious. Very nice diner. Overall 5 stars :)

There's ample parking that's paved or across the street on gravel. The food looked amazing in photos, but I wouldn't say it was as good as it looked or sounded in descriptions. It was generally very tasty, but everything felt like it was missing just one ingredient that would make it better. It could be that I'm just more used to ethnic flavors and these were just not quite hitting the mark. For example the stratciatella was good, but if the whipped ricotta was a little more fluffy and there was some extra black pepper or lemon added it would have been perfect. The pork belly was a little dry and not worth the price for just three pieces. The thick cut truffle fries were very good however. We also tried the bucatini and it was nice but still I wanted a little more kick. It has spice but just needs a little something to punch it up. The steak sandwich two of the three of us sharing a meal loved and I'd say was the best thing we ate. The service staff was kind, considerate and gave us time and made sure our drinks were filled. There are still a lot of dishes I'd like to try and since I loved the area, it would be worth coming back again.

We joined the online waitlist at 1:00 PM on a Sunday. While we were seated fairly quickly, we still had to wait in a long line just to speak with the host to check in. The restaurant was completely packed well past 2:00 PM. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill once we sat down. It took forever just to place our order. Our chowder arrived about 10 minutes later, but it tasted like it came straight out of a can, and the accompanying dinner roll was completely flavorless and factory-made. Since we were hungry, we ate it quickly anyway. It took 45 minutes for our entrees--a Country Fried Steak and a California Benedict--to arrive. By 3:00 PM, we were famished, which made it all the more disappointing to discover our food was cold, soggy, and hard. The cubed fries, scrambled eggs, and English muffin tasted like they had been sitting on a counter for 20 minutes before being brought to our table. For a restaurant advertising a "farm-to-table" concept, the eggs, salad, croutons, and muffin felt entirely mass-produced. The service was equally disappointing; our server never returned to refill our water. While the atmosphere is nice and the space is large enough to fit over 100 people, they seemed severely understaffed. The host stand was backed up, it took too long to order, and the kitchen was clearly overwhelmed. For $23 a plate, I expect significantly better quality in both the food and the service.

All the portion sizes are absolutely large and you can definitely take leftovers with. Our server was absolutely amazing. Portions are absolutely massive, and most dishes are served with a cornbread topped with a cream/icing. When the server was placing them on other tables, I thought they were cinnamon rolls from the size! I ordered the "Th-th-th-that's all folks," which consisted of crispy breaded pork chops with grits, gravy, two eggs, potatoes, and cornbread. The serving size was massive and could easily be 2 meals (I had lots of leftovers). The porkchop had a great texture and wasn't too dry. Grits were creamy, and the cornbread itself was very delicious. Service was friendly and attentive, as we had servers coming by multiple times to top off coffee. This is a great breakfast spot in Sumner!
