This place is...kind of weird, but in a good way. Based on the name and seeing it from the freeway, I honestly expected it to be an Indian restaurant. It isn't. In fact, there's not a single Indian dish on the menu. Instead, it's like someone combined an upscale Denny's, a seafood restaurant, and a Chinese restaurant into one menu. I'm guessing that's because there aren't many food options inside the Emerald Queen Casino in Fife. It's basically this restaurant or the deli downstairs. (For what it's worth, I grabbed a brownie from the deli afterward, and it was delicious.) The deli menu seemed pretty limited, so maybe that's why Tatoosh Grill decided to offer a little bit of everything. The menu is all over the place--in the best and weirdest way possible. You can order breakfast, sandwiches, salads, soups, seafood, steaks...and then flip a page and order Chinese food. It's definitely an interesting concept. We decided to try the Chinese menu since it had pretty good reviews. I ordered one of the lunch specials that came with chow mein, fried rice, and breaded almond chicken. Everything tasted great. The chow mein was flavorful, the fried rice was good, and the chicken itself was delicious. My only complaint is the portion of protein. For a lunch special that was over $20, I expected a lot more chicken. Instead, I got what felt like one small piece, while the rest of the plate was mostly chow mein and fried rice. It definitely felt like I was paying restaurant prices for a plate that was heavy on the carbs. My husband ordered the General Tso's chicken, which came with jasmine rice, and honestly, I wish I had gone that route. His dish was a huge bowl packed with chicken, and if I'm remembering correctly, it was actually cheaper than my lunch special. There was so much food that he couldn't even finish it. If you're planning to order from the Chinese menu, I'd recommend skipping the lunch combinations and just ordering one of the entrée dishes. It seems like you'll get a lot more protein and a much better value. The couple sitting next to us couldn't stop talking about how good the breakfast was, so that's definitely something I'd be interested in trying next time. Overall, I'd come back. The food was good, the service was solid, and while the menu is one of the most random I've ever seen, somehow it works. Ok here it is. Me and my girlfriend were invited here for dinner with my brother and his husband. My brother said the name of the place so many times that if he was paid for saying tatoosh grill The food should've been free. It was like six or seven times while he was telling me about this place.. We ended getting getting the casino meal where you get 5 different items. Each item that was chosen was really delicious. I enjoyed the chicken. I enjoyed the whatever the other dishes were really. I'm always happy with most Chinese food or we get. This was good. I believe we got a walnut shrimp which I enjoy.. I've decided that any place that has walnut, shrimp try. Little disappointed that there was no fortune cookies. I I didn't take any pictures of food at the time. Mixed feelings this visit. Went last week about noon on weekday expecting to have their lunch special offered until 2:00 to be told it's only on weekends so we left. We go today ( Sun) and find breakfast ends now at 11:00! So they cut back the days and the time AND NO MORE VALUE BREAKFAST SPECIALS!! We aren't paying $20+ for breakfast. BJ's cafe has awesome food and great prices, $10 for Eggs Benedict and options even less. The deli's at both EQ's are overpriced as well, so disappointing when usually losing on the slots. You can at least have some fair prices on basic eats. I about died seeing $10 for cup of chowder in the deli, really? Anyway we had lunch today since it was after 11:00. Not even a sandwich option for under $18, ugh. I had fish/chips, the fish was good and tasted fresh. Hubby had the calamari and side fries. I asked for our fries to be extra crisps she obviously didn't make note to kitchen because we both got soft fries, ick. She was so busy we didn't bother telling her. Calamari good but small portion for $17, I gave him a piece of my fish even though I couldn't eat my fries. The Emerald Queen Casino has long wanted this restaurant to come across as being fancy and classy, which the prices have usually reflected. However, overall, the meals there have always been relatively average and fairly high priced for what they are - particularly their breakfasts. Recently, my wife and I decided to dine here for the first time in a while. I went for bacon and eggs, while she went for steak and eggs. As you can see from the receipt, the total came to nearly 50 bucks - and then, when you add in four dollars for a cup of coffee, the price became ridiculous. Reality is, I could do far better and get a far better breakfast at the Poodle Dog Restaurant down the street for considerably less and it would be no less fancy than this glorified but rather ho-hum restaurant. PS: note to the tribe: if you're going to combine high prices with slow service, don't have three staff members hanging around the entry desk shooting the breeze and doing nothing while in sight of the customers. I booked a reservation online thinking it was for the buffet, I was mistaken and I think confused on which location it was at. Nonetheless, we still kept our reservation for two and had the Sunday brunch special. There was a little wait even though we had a reservation, but the staff were friendly. My husband and I both ordered the prime rib brunch and shared a plate of fruit to start. The food was good, cooked well. Nothing over the top or really special. It was fairly priced, but considering we only went for the food and not to gamble at the casino it was alright. The view is of the highway which I think online says there are stellar views, but the highway isn't it. Not sure if there is another side to the restaurant with a different view. I have stayed at EQC Fife several times. The Tatoosh Grill is on point. Every time. The reason for the low reviews is simple... they offer a free meal if you gamble with your card inserted for a specific amount of time. So these freeloaders bet a penny a spin for several hours, get a free meal and then write a crappy review. Obviously the staff becomes disgruntled because freeloaders don't tip. Do the math here. I waited two hours for my prime rib the first prime rib that came out was raw and I couldn't cut it to eat it. The second prime rib that I brought out was well done, which was terrible for prime rib. My family had in their meal and I still hadn't got my meal. The manager came out and was babbling and asking me what I wanted from her when she didn't offer anything to us. I asked her several times what could she offer us and she would not answer so I asked her for some dessert. My family got their dessert and I did not. I called the restaurant and complained about her to the front desk she came over and I just said I was done with her over two hours waiting for a prime rib, dinner and dessert. I'd recommend their CLAM CHOWDER it's one of the best in town for me but let me tell you I'm a seafood lover and for years I've been found with the sweet & sour prawns or they prawns w/ walnut sauce but the past year I had the courage to order out my usual comfort zone of foods that Ik for sure that I love and had been wanting to try this other dish that's been catching my eye so finally tried the PRAWNS in LOBSTER SAUCE which even comes with little bite sizes of pork and omg it goes so well over white rice like it's amazing together esp with the sauce over all ur rice & just kinda sad I hadn't tried it sooner than that. The hollidaise sauce lacked flavor. The orange slices looked as if they'd been sitting out for a while. The French fries with the other two orders weren't crispy but limp, as you can see from photo. Our waiter seemed a bit short with us and brought the wrong bottle of wine I ordered. We weren't asked about our Players Club cards to get a discount. Came here for breakfast and had a good experience. Ordered the New York steak and eggs, chicken fried steak, & pancakes. All were hot and fresh. Portions were large and the food was tasty. Our server was quick and attentive. Venue was clean. Only complaint is that access to the restaurant elevator is through the smoking section of the casino floor. read more

We have tried this restaurant many times. Reason I'm writing this review is because of the great service we had from Debra. I wasn't sure our waitress name but on the receipt shows her name. Anyways, the food was good but the service was outstanding. Keep up the great job Debra. My wife tried Filet Mignon Oscar and she said it was okay. I tried the Crab Louie and it was what I expected. Tatoosh Grill is located inside of the Emerald Queen Casino in Fife, WA. Unfortunately, you have to walk through the thick clouds of cigarette smoke to get to the elevator that you take to the restaurant and for my wife who's allergic to nicotine, that was a miserable walk. Once we entered the restaurant, we were met by a hostess who couldn't find our reservation and I must say, she wasn't very happy to be there. We did not feel very welcomed and we thought that we may just be turned away. Eventually she found our reservation and sat us. We chose Tatoosh because of a recommendation from friends who told us of their casino dinner which is a traditional Chinese restaurant style meal. It had seven courses served family style and only cost $30 per person with no tax! We had leftovers to take home with us too! We were sat in the corner next to the floor to ceiling windows that overlook I-5 so the view is pretty cool. Another drawback however was that a family with 5 kids came in and was sat very close to us and they were very loud and a bit unruly. It was my wife's birthday dinner so having a quiet corner away from that nonsense would have suited us better but whatdya gonna do huh? We definitely plan on going back and taking advantage of that casino dinner deal despite the smoke and rowdy children. Maybe next time we'll get a nice hostess who's in a good mood and the Brady Bunch won't show up. We can hope right? If you're in the area and looking for some decent Chinses cuisine, I'd recommend Tatoosh Grill. I want to start by saying the waitstaff have always been very friendly and provided excellent service. My problem with the Tatoosh is the front of the house staff. The people that seat you and cash you out are incredibly rude. Today the lady took my husband's name and number and when asked how long the wait was the lady huffed and rolled her eyes. She was even more rude to the person in front of us. The manager was right next to her and said nothing. In fact, she was grumpy to him too. This is the second time we've experienced rudeness from the front of the house. We decided to just leave the casino at that point. I'm not gambling and spending money at a place I'm not welcome. Also, can someone tell me why there is always a wait to be seated when the dining room isn't even half full? We will end up at the Muckleshoot or snoqualmie for now on, much better service! read more

They raised their prices ALOT and they don't give out comps until you spend $500 a day in the casino. They no longer offer French Dip or any other sandwiches for dinner. French onion soup is only available for lunch. So dinner for one person was $38 and I only drank water! Pay more get less! That should be the new EQC motto! read more

Well at least you get a view. Staying at the Emerald Queen Hotel is this eatery above the casino floor. It's nothing fancy too look at but it serves it purpose of great service and pumping out food to get the patrons on the floor quick. It's American dining with the quick Chinese food plates. We got three appetizers to hold us over before dinner. On the table were fried potstickers, fried calamari, and cold honey glazed pork. Potstickers 3/5. They were way over cooked and the flavoring was missing even with the potsticker's sauce. It was missing that chewy texture you get from the wrapper even when fried. Calamari 3/5. Comparing this to calamari from the Boston Bistro, it's better. Comparing this to the Olive Garden's calamari, it's worst. The breading just fell off and when you dip a piece into the mayo sauce, the breading just comes right off. Glazed pork 1/5. No flavor. Presentation was ok. Overall three stars. Service was quick and very polite. Our server constantly check in on us. I didn't have the heart to tell her the food was just ok. Now excuse me, have see the rest of this place. read more

An hour later then we were seated. My order was incorrect. Never got 1 refill on the $4 per-person soft drinks. The restaurant itself is pretty tasteful in decor. The staff is friendly and they have quite the variety in menu items..from American to Asian cuisine. We definitely took advantage of the plethora of food options! I ordered the lamb lollipops with the wild rice. It was pretty tasty, the sauce for it was good..but the lamb itself was a little under seasoned. Non the less, I still enjoyed the meal. My husband ordered the Kobe beef burger and he really enjoyed everything about it. My mom ordered the oyster sauce beef and said it was pretty tasty. So for the most part, the food was satisfying. The portions are quite generous and we ended up taking a to-go box home for the oyster sauce beef. Overall..we had a pleasant experience. Everyone was very nice and the food was good. The view that we had from where we sat was really nice. For Christmas dinner (unplanned and spur of the moment) it was a great night and we would come back for sure if ever in the area again. read more

Never actually been here, but my friend had ordered the fried rice to go, and decided she wasn't going to eat it anymore, and gave it to me. It was a good amount; I actually didn't eat it all at once. I really liked the fried rice. I honestly can't say if the fried rice was flavorful on its own or not, because I added so much of my own chili oil and chili paste to it. But it sure made it taste so good, and I really like the non-mushy texture of the rice. And really liked all the green onions they added to it; that did make a big difference to the flavor of the fried rice. Would definitely want more of this fried rice. Once again another great experience at the Tatoosh Grill. Fine dining for a casino at its best. Great views of Interstate 5 below with Mount Rainier in the distance. Wonderful selection of high quality food. Very professional and nice! Esther is probably one of the best waitresses I've ever had. Very witty, charming, professional, and overall just high class. I would definitely give her a raise if I were running this place! I had the casino dinner with my dad and at 25 bucks a person, we had plenty of leftovers to take home for another meal. Everyone else shared the casino meal except for the one guest who had the prawns. It was excellent and he would definitely order it again! The casino dinner comes with a fine assortment of Chinese American cuisine. You start off with pork with mustard and seeds as well as potstickers. We were here for the special three course Dungeness Crab set dinner for two. It started with choice of soup or salad. I selected the soup du jour which was very hearty and flavorful. First course was chilled shrimp with cocktail sauce, size of shrimp was rather small, but in quantity it was adequate for two to share, firm in texture and freshly in taste. Mussell in seafood saffron broth was the second course and nicely prepared in a well seasoned seafood broth. The mussells was nice size, meaty and tempting, and the poached potato in the saffron broth really complemented this dish well, very delicious. As for the main course, a boiled Dungeness crab, approximately two lb. in size, was presented with it's briney taste. We could tell the crab was nicely harvested in ocean waters, firm and sweet in flavor, we enjoyed every single bite of this ocean delicacy. Personally, no drawn butter is needed. I appreciate every bite in it's natural taste from the ocean, Yum yum! It seemed like a messy and complicated process to enjoy this meal to the fullest, and with the black berry shoberto at the end, it refreshed and concluded this dinner with perfection, a fine enjoyable dining experience to share! read more

I just had the best chicken curry. It was absolutely delicious and the portion was enough for two people. The curry was not overwhelming and had a slight kick. The chicken was all white meat and very tender. We had spring rolls as an appetizer and they were great too. They were flaky and the filling was flavorful. Beautiful setup, you can catch a glimpse of the busy freeway in the am, and there usually isn't a waiting period in the mornings! Severs are always welcoming, friendly and quick! My favorites here are the Belgian Waffles served with hot maple syrup and butter! I also love their "create your own omelettes" which gives you up to four picks from meat to veggies for $7.95, which I find a perfect pricing for an omelette it's size & it also comes w hash and slices of oranges. Toast are always pretty tasty. I do sometimes order the oatmeal for my daughter, which comes w sliced bananas, raisins, brown sugar and milk on the side. Yum! First of all, let me say that the food was good, however upon our arrival at the restaurant, there was a hostess at the desk. She was messing with receipts and things, and never looked up and greeted us or said I'll be with you in a minute for a good while. When we were finally seated, we literally sat at our table for over 35 minutes before we were even greeted. We were not even given water ! Our candle on our table was not even lit . Finally, a waiter from a different section came over and said "I'll take your order. I don't know who's supposed to be covering this section". Once we finally did receive our meal and our long awaited glasses of water, our waitress spent our entire meal talking to the people at the table behind us telling her whole life story. She never once checked back to see if we needed anything or how we felt about our meal. Needless to say, I rate the service extremely poor. read more
