What a wonderful find! In all our visits to Branson this is our first time for breakfast at the…read moreHungry Hunter and we were so pleased! It's a lovely drive across the lake, out of the hustle and bustle of town, which we love. A quaint mom and pop feel, with music playing, not too loudly. We were seated right away at 9:00 on a Thursday morning. Our server Lori greeted us quickly and kept our coffee cups warm! Such a friendly lady and she described the menu options so well that she talked one of us into their cinnamon french toast special of the day! Our food was served quickly and was nice and hot. Each item was tasty, and for me, I was very pleased that the hash browns did not have that greasy grill taste! My cheesy omelet was generously filled an made to order, as I prefer mine a little different. The bacon was delicious, a perfect blend of thick and chewy with a bit of crisp. We will definitely visit again!

There was something off-putting about the CFS. I didn't care for the coating or the gravy. I'd give it a 2/5. My stepmom gave it a 4/5. Her tastebuds are broken. My dad enjoyed his omelette and said the veggies were lightly sautéed and not greasy. The service was good. The wait was not worth the taste of the CFS, but honestly, 0 minutes of waiting is not worth the CFS. I typically love CFS, but in this case, I wish I had tried the French toast instead. Me: 2/5 (based solely on taste, 5/5 for portion size) Stepmom: 4/5 Dad: 5/5 then amended to 8/10, which is 4/5

This is a local diner but a little larger than your typical one: Cashier station up front near the door; ample seating; then the kitchen/prep area in the back which you can view from your seat. I'm guessing this is a female-owned business. They are in constant motion wearing many hats. The menu contains all the diner staples but it appears that breakfast may be their busiest time. We had the Salad Bar, Pan-fried Chicken dinners while youth in our party had the Kid's Chicken Tenders & Fries. The meals were solid: Tasty & adequate quantity. Four of us ate for about $40 less tip. Their hidden gems, and most outstanding offerings, were their array of fresh, home-made pies of at least a half-dozen varieties that I could detect. They were boxing pies right & left while telling me they had containers for single slices as well. We were coming from a ballgame with no other dinner prospects in the larger area so otherwise would never have discovered this jewel in this tiny berg. But if you happen to pass thru Hurley, stop & sample their good food & delicious pies. It was nothing fancy, but a nice discovery of typical Americana.
