This is a VERY busy spot and no wonder! Great atmosphere and staff! Was here last night with friends that are moving to Seattle. This was the first time we've been. We stayed outside by the marina mostly; only going inside for drinks, ordering food, and bathroom breaks. I cannot remember the name of my bartender bc it was not a common name, but she made THE best whiskey sours ever! We ordered food as well and oh my tastiness! I got the grilled buffalo chicken wrap which was fresh and delicious and came with some tasty ass fries! My hubs got the Jersey Burger (burger topped with pork roll and American cheese). River Rock's undergone a very quality rebuild, and serves the same great entrees in their new surroundings. My personal favorite there is the chicken wrap with gorgonzola cheese - it's made with a really pleasant sauce but isn't messy to eat. Their bar fare (like the chicken strips and fries) are great at night when sports are on; the service has been just fine all the times I've visited, and I recommend it day or night - this place is popular on the weekends for a reason!. Its nice that it's on the water, but they need to either improve the food quality or lower the prices. My chicken Caesar wrap had brown lettuce in it, and no flavor whatsoever. I think they forgot to put dressing on it? Also, I asked our waitress if there were any happy hour specials and she told me no, I later looked online and found out there were. I have passed by this place when out on the water and it looked like a fun place to go so we tried it out last week. It was ladies night so glasses of wine for 4 bucks and I had the chicken parm, and my husband had pulled pork sandwich. Let me just say the atmosphere was great and waitress very attentive, but my husband found a hair in his second bite of sandwich ( lost his appetite) and my chicken parm was burned on the bottom and chewy, marinara sauce was awful. My husband told waitress about the hair and she offered something else but he declined. I don't eat out often and was so looking forward to this being a great spot to eat when we are out on the boat, what a huge disappointment! I have not eaten here, but everyone seems to say it's terrible. I am not surprised. This review is for the bar only. Ok, where to begin. You get charged $20 to enter. There is nothing in this bar worth $20. Nothing. They don't give the beer away, so why am I paying to get in? The place is a total meat market which means: 1. No women want to go there. You're almost at a "bring your mace" level of pervs. 2. No guys want to go there. It's a ratio of 25 to 1 (I'm not even joking), and it's impossible to get service, get to the bathroom (not that you even want to walk into that pig trough) get anywhere, really. It's the first bar I was happy to have the night end early. It's over crowded, so the view is just sweating guys. I heard there's a dance floor, but I've never seen it. During the day, it's old men drooling over the wait staff, and the wait staff can't make a drink to save their lives. They are rude, though. Just stay clear. This bar should be in Sleaze-side, but has an identity crisis where it thinks it's not a dump. read more

Legit almost got jumped here by the rudest people because they were mad that we were standing by their seat in a crowded bar during Memorial Day Weekend. I GOT PUSHED AGGRESSIVELY!! The worst part was that these people kept following us and threatening us after we went outside. After calling the "head" bouncer, Cliff, to help us in this situation, he legit went to their whole crew and was laughing with them AT US. Now I am sure that Cliff was trying to do the best at his job to diffuse the situation and make the mood light, but I started to feel extra uncomfortable when I told Cliff I did not feel safe and to please make sure to stay next to my fiancé and I to avoid any confrontation UNTIL OUR UBER CAME and he legit stated "that is not my job". Your job is entitled "Security" ... what do you think your job entails? To ensure the premise is secure and to provide security to your patrons. I would not recommend this place to anyone unless you want to deal with individuals that are bound to cause a problem OVER RIDICULOUS THINGS. Best part: I was 100% sober throughout this whole situation to know that drunk individuals were legit a problem. Your safety? HAHA NOT A PRIORITY HERE. We got into our Uber to only hear from our Uber driver that he constantly hears complaints from this place and that he has picked up MULTIPLE individuals that have left River Rock due to the similar situations. Had reservations got sat pretty quick however, one small station w breakfast food and 1 guy doing omelette station and waffles w a line wrapped In The restaurant to wait an hour for eggs and bacon....they were so unorganized. I had the Reuben which was just a sloppy mass of shaved meat and cheese; probably the worst Reuben I've ever had. For $10.99 it should have rocked my world. Here's my other problem: The 2 hostesses were eating lunch at the hostess station. Really?? Go eat in the kitchen! You shouldnt be eating when you're on the floor. Stopped in here for lunch on a whim. Sat out on the deck overlooking the river and the view of the marina was quite nice. There was a nice breeze. The waitress had too many tables to really be effective, so service was just so so. We had the calamari appetizer. It was hot and flavorful. Not the best I've had, but far from the worst. I had the pulled pork sandwich and my wife had the sliced garlic steak sandwich. My wife said the steak had a burnt garlic flavor to it and my pulled pork sandwich lacked zest. Overall, the cook staff was scared to death of the salt shaker. When my wife salts food, I know it is grievously under seasoned. Probably won't go back, but it was a nice experiment. read more

We've come here in the past more than a few times. The last time was after the restaurant was updated. We had a very nice time and the food was good. So when my friend and I were deciding where to go for our birthday, we chose the River Rock. We got there and sat down inside but had to move outside because it was extremely loud. We were able to get a table right away. Unfortunately, while the food was good again, my wife's drink was nothing but water and the draft beers were totally flat! The check was what seemed very high for what we had. We needlessly were very, very disappointed. Don't see how we would return in the future. Having worked in the restaurant business for many years, I know how important " word of mouth " can be. I'm surprised that a restaurant that has the potential that this place has, would serve the public in this manner. Sadly disappointed. read more

Came here for an Easter brunch. Had reservations for 2pm. Waited over 25 minutes to be seated and the place was a zoo. People were piled up at the door waiting. Food seemed to have ran out. I have enjoyed River Rock for years and have entertained friends and family. Last night we had a concerning issue. There was large crowd as the result of an Easter event and we arrived at 6:30 pm. We were told there was a 20 minute wait. We had a couple of drinks at the bar and made an inquiry after an hour the status of our table. We were told by the bartender that the restaurant was under staffed and proceeded to order dinner at the bar. 45 minutes later we cancelled our dinner that was still not served. This is one of our "go to" places in the summer because we go there by boat and that means... Jimmy the dock master!!! (and the food and atmosphere are pretty cool too!) Jim is VERY good at his job...I feel he is misunderstood... but its because he has a job to do and for him to be able to do it properly PEOPLE HAVE TO LISTEN TO HIM (and as we know, people don't like to be told what to do)...people don't realize the difficulty in getting the boats maneuvered and docked safely in a confined space, especially on a busy night. Best happy hour around! Half priced pizzas and pitchers of beer on Mondays, ladies night on Wednesdays, half priced burgers on Thursdays and the best dj's and bands on Fridays and Saturdays. Went to their outdoor area to catch a band. There were 10 of us and we had drinks and dinner. We were asked to move our table in the middle of our meal because they wanted to fit a large crowd behind us. It struck us as very strange. Have you ever been in a restaurant where they ask you to get up and move your chair? The food was so-so I got the bison burger and it tasted like it was sitting out for 10 minutes before they brought it to me. It was only slightly warmer than room temperature. The ambience was excellent the band was excellent and the service was fine, the food was so-so and I give it two stars because of the experience with the manager. read more
