I love coming here for hibachi! The serving sizes are so generous. The food always tastes delicious too. The best part is that it comes with fried rice AND noodles! I always leave super full and wanting to come back for more. read more

Yokohama - 3.Hibachi Chicken and Steak Dinner - Japanese Near Me - Brick, New Jersey

HORRIBLE ALL AROUND!!! Over cooked , no flavor from the chicken to the shrimp just rubbery, the lo mein and rice oily , I called the place to have them issue me a refund since the order came from DoorDash and the man I spoke with told me to drive there and he would remake it. Unacceptable . Horrible read more

Yokohama - a man preparing food in a restaurant - Japanese Near Me - Brick, New Jersey

Food was tasty, serving size more than adequate and the service was timely, but the ambience food presentation and energy of this restaurant felt tired. And overshadowed the experience. Perhaps best for take out and/or delivery if available. . read more

We ordered gyoza, mussels, The golden Hana and Bricktown roll and all were delicious! Service was great and the restaurant was pretty.

Everything about this restaurant was good. Super fast service, ambiance was pleasant and they had the best tuna tar tar I've ever tasted. Highly suggest taking stopping here to eat read more

Sushi was fantastic and the service was great! They also have hibachi there for those who want the experience.

Very poor quality of products, bad service, rude staff, I was so upset after they ruined my Friday night, the worst sushi I ever had, not recommended better go to Xina or even buffet sushi read more

Yokohama - Not a good quality of nori - Japanese Near Me - Brick, New Jersey

We ate here last night it was very busy restaurant which is always a good sign in a sushi bar. If it was fresh tasted great and it's BYOB so get your sake out. Service that we had was very good. And it was reasonably priced which I'm always happy to see. Of course this is not an authentic Japanese restaurant, it's seems to be Chinese owned and operated which is fine because they do an excellent job. read more

Yokohama was pretty much one-and-done for me, which is a shame. Mostly because the restaurant it replaced some years ago, though Chinese, was not bad at all, and had been one of the few remaining of it's kind with that classic sit down ambiance. I let years pass before trying Yokohama out, because there was an excellent Japanese restaurant much closer to my house, which also had lovely golf course views. But that went the way of fusion, so my wife and I thought we'd give this one a try. I don't recall the day of the week, but we were alone in the dining room at about 7:30 pm. That pretty much ruled out sushi for me, because no customers and fresh fish is an equation that never adds up. So kitchen apps it was. Of the ones we tried, the usual gyoza, shumai, yakitori, and negimaki were unremarkable. In fact, that would have summed up the entire meal from the soup to the check, if not for my entree. I ordered the filet mignon teriyaki, and my companion had the chicken. Hers was fine, but mine was off. Spoiled meat, really, to be clear. Not that prime dry aged sort of off... the kind where you immediately spit out your bite and fight not to vomit. When the waitress returned and asked why I wasn't eating, I politely explained. She was very understanding, and asked if I wanted something else, which I declined. Rancid meat works wonders on my appetite in terms of making it disappear completely. I was disappointed, but not surprised. Again, I reasoned, with what obviously appeared to be limited business, it almost seemed expected. A business on a shoestring trying to cut food costs by holding on to things too long seems like a familiar story. What pissed me off though, and wasn't at all expected, was that they left my not meal on the bill. I didn't even argue, and I don't know why. Maybe I felt bad for them. Anyway, I paid and tipped as if I'd been leaving satisfied, but I will not go back unless someone drags me there and pays. My visit would have been a little more Nagasaki than Yokohama if I hadn't decided to forego making a scene, but even though I'd be welcomed back, I'll pass. read more

Don't order delivery from here. My order was never delivered. When I called Seamless they said the driver didn't want to go back to the restaurant to pick up the food. I never got a courtesy call, an order cancellation or any type of heads up. By the time I realized the food wasn't coming, there were no delivery options open and I had to send my family to bed sad and hungry : / read more

Small place but delicious sushi and my kids love the hibachi and very reasonably priced. This is my kids only request when we are in the area. Again great food and service. read more

Decent place, food was pretty good but not exceptional. There was only a few workers there that gave me the impression that they're not that busy. Only 1 cook the night we went (Mother's Day) so many people had to wait a while to eat. read more

Great food and even better service!!! Best hibachi around. I love the filet mignon and the yellowtail jalapeño.

My favorite place in Brick! Definitely a hidden gem, Yokohama has a crappy location so a lot of people skip over it. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Japanese food! One of the best sushi/hibachi restaurants in the area by far! Most residents of Brick go to Ikko, which IMHO pales in comparison. Ikko has got the location going, the food is just any standard hibachi/sushi joint. I think yokohama is much fresher-they beat any other place in sushi any day of the week. The owners are sweethearts and will bend over backwards for you. I highly recommend the bento box meals! So much food, and such great quality! Everything always comes out hot! Love love love this place. Can't say enough great things about it. I truly hope people start to realize it! read more

This has been my local go to sushi for YEARS and I feel lucky to have them within driving distance! The sushi here is always delicious. They offer a wide variety of really tasty special rolls. The atmosphere is always, clean, calm and classy. Prices are reasonable the service has always been as fantastic as their rolls. read more

Yokohama - Delish! - Japanese Near Me - Brick, New Jersey

A coworker and I came here for lunch because we wanted sushi and wine but ikko was closed for lunch. Neither of us had eaten here, and the parking lot was literally empty. When we walked in, they turned the lights on for us. The staff was very nice, and the service was obviously fast because we were the only people in the building (3:15pm on a Thursday). We ordered edamame and each of us got two specialty sushi rolls. We both tried the Bricktown roll and it's AMAZING!!! The other rolls were the Easter roll and the Jimmy (Johnny?) special. Everything was so delicious! We will definitely be back. Dying to try the hibachi, too. Prices seemed a little high but for the quantity and quality of food and service, it's well worth it. read more

I ordered a sushi deluxe which is supposed to come with a spicy tuna roll, but instead they gave me a regular tuna roll. So if you order take out here make sure you open up your order and look at everything since they don't give you what you pay for. The sushi was pretty good, at least. read more

A new favorite. Very cozy and feels more like a local place, probably because it's not super big and loud like a lot of the hibachi places tend to be. Yokohama - nothing fancy this time but definitely delicious! - Japanese Near Me - Brick, New Jersey

Very clean. Friendly service. The Hibachi chef was funny. I missed catching the zucchini 3 times! But it wasn't for lack of trying on his part! The whole family enjoyed our meal. We'll definitely be back. read more

My boyfriend and I always run to Ikko before any other Japanese restaurant because it is a safe bet for decent sushi. However, After hearing awesome reviews about the sushi at Yokohoma, I decided to finally give it a try and steer away from the usual. The miso soup and edamame was delicious to start, and the service was so friendly and fast. Maybe because it wasn't too busy, but either way it was still very nice and timely. I did not feel rushed for everything was brought out with good space in between the foods. The sushi definitely exceeded my expectations. There is a big variety, so much to choose from which made the decision hard (in a good way). I am not a big fan of cucumber is sushi but I did not even notice it in the roll. Absolutely delicious, we will be back and possibly for hibachi next time!!! Definitely recommend the hurricane roll---so good!!!!!!! read more

I have never experienced worse service in my life. I will never eat here again. We came here for the first time and the last time. The food was good but the service was awful. Although we had reservation, they seated a group ahead of use. Then they separated our group while our food was cooked. The sad part is I still have to pay the bill. read more

$6.95 lunch? Oh yes. AND food was great!! Totally unassuming place. Will be back.

Dynamite meal. Came in for my wife's surprise 30th birthday with a party of 18 and it couldn't have been any better. The owners are wonderful people, so friendly and welcoming. The chef was phenomenal and managed 2 grills simultaneously while cooking for 18. The BYOB is a great touch and the food was tremendous. Both the sushi and the hibachi were incredible. I'd recommend this place to anyone in the area. The family that's owns it is lovely and we look forward to going back and having another meal with them! read more

Service was extremely slow. On a very crowded night they only had 2 Hibachi chefs for 6 tables. You could have waited 90-120 minutes to eat. Very poorly run business in terms of staff. Food was average at best. When the chef did get to us - he rushed through everything and food was very bland. Steak itself was excellent. read more

I've been coming to Yokohama since the day they opened - literally. A few years back, I saw a new Japanese restaurant pop up, decided to stop by, and just so happened to do it on opening day. The restaurant was fantastic back then, and for a few years thereafter I'd eat here fairly regularly, even the staff knew me. Sadly, they changed hands about a year ago (possibly longer?). The new owners kept the same look and feel of the restaurant, but the food quality has gone way down. The once expertly prepared Japanese dishes and sushi have been relegated to shadows of their former selves. Case in point, the Tomago sushi (a sort of egg sushi with bonito flavoring) I got the other day was rather dry, cracking, and the texture was way off - almost as if it had been frozen and thawed. The Katsudon bowl, a favorite of mine, was just "okay" and tasted like a kind of commercialized version. On top of that, the pork was rather overcooked and stringy, tasting kind of like the pork from a Chinese takeout place. Had I not gotten the lunch special price, I probably would have sent it back. I probably should have started to worry when I ordered "hot tea" for my beverage, and was given a glass of Oolong instead of the typical green tea one normally gets at a Japanese place. A funnier thing I noticed was that the Hibachi was manned by a man of Latino origin, dressed in full Hibachi chef garb. The guy did a decent job so I mean no offense to him, but it does kind of strike me as odd when the "dinner and a show" chef at a Japanese restaurant isn't even an Asian dude. Call it wrong for me to expect that, but it kind of ruins the immersion for me. The upside to this whole thing is that the staff are pretty friendly, at least. It's a real shame when a great restaurant changes hands and becomes rather "Meh", but I think I'll be going to Ikko for local Japanese fare from now on. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! They have so many menu items to choose from, unique sushi platters, fast and friendly service. BYOB. Casual but clean, I go almost every week since everything has been nothing but delicious! read more

Do NOT let the aesthetic appeal fool you. I pulled up with a friend and my first thought was wow..it looks a little run down. We walked in on a Sunday night and say down...the waitress was extremely attentive to our needs she immediately asked us if we wanted our wine bottle opened and can back with an ice bucket, two wine glasses, and two cups of ice. I looked at the specials menu first and there are SO MANY ROLLS I can honestly say I have never seen so many before . I ordered the Pink Angel Roll which is a MUST HAVE for anyone who goes there ...it is crunchy and sweet with a strawberry sauce on top ...absolutely amazing. I then ordered the Brooktown Roll and this by far was my favorite out of them all. I promise anyone who orders this no matter the pallet will enjoy it ! I ordered the Fantastic roll along with the Golden Dragon. The Fantastic was good as well. The Golden dragon was nothing special still good though. I recommend this place to anyone, some of the best sushi I have ever had. read more

The sushi was excellent. Really fresh and good flavor on the rolls and seemed very fresh. The overall ambience is pretty blahh (or very), and the lighting isn't good, but I went for good sushi and got it. Service was fine. read more

Get the crunchy pepper tuna appetizer! It's off the menu and delicious if you like sashimi type foods with crunch! The people are very generous and accommodating. I do not recommend coming here for sushi. As someone that eats sushi ALL the time I can say that this was easily some of the worst I have ever had. Nothing was fresh, especially the crab.
