This review is entirely about french cuff mens' shirts. His place is exceptional! I originally used them via a recommendation as my home was about 1/2 mile away. I now live 4 miles away and tried a local cleaner (about 1/4 mile away) for convenience and lower price. To my dismay the local cleaner did not get the white cuffs clean along the edges. I resorted to trying to clean the cuffs myself which was frustrating. I am back to River Oaks Cleaners and my cuffs are now spotless. They take the time to properly finish off the shirts! I haven't ever been to a dry cleaners in my neighborhood the past 4 years I've lived here so wasn't sure where to start. I saw this place close by and that it had great reviews on google (not sure why it's so different on Yelp) so I thought to give it a shot! I've had 2 formal dresses for events and my husband a jacket. I had 2 specific stains on a shiny material dress (one from red wine, the other from some oil from food) and they got them both out. These people iron a barcode onto your shirt! I am not joking. It is River Oaks Cleaners policy is to iron a permanent barcode onto the inside of your shirt when they dry clean it. It is NOT a sticker. It is a permanent part of the shirt. It is completely obnoxious that they would do this without making it obvious to the customer. My $300 shirt was vandalized but these people. I needed to get a mysterious spot out of a genuine silk dress that was quite expensive, and I also needed it done promptly. I came in an gave them the run down and expressed the importance. While they didn't make any promises, they were kind, optimistic, and able to get the job done in 36 hours (seems like they could have gotten it down faster if need be, but at the time, I needed it in three days). The dress came out perfectly and the service was affordable given the circumstances. The dress was very important to me, and I'm grateful I trusted the right company. After that experience, I am a customer for life. Couldn't recommend more! read more

I have used a lot of cleaners in Houston, but all of them have lost or ruined garments EXCEPT for River Oaks cleaners- they do take a week to do any clothing that needs repair..but are consistent and do a great job! read more

We have been coming to this cleaners for quite some time. We started coming when we moved to the Rice Military area, but have continued using their services since moving further away. They do superb work on our clothing and other items, keep our preferences in mind (ex: no starch on dress shirts), have never lost anything, and always have a smile for us when we walk through the door. I brought 5 shirts in that I needed done with medium starch. They refused to let me pay before hand or tell me my total. When I picked them up I was shocked that they charged me $7 a shirt. On top of that, they were not even well pressed or starched. Will never come here again. read more

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Very poor customer service. I dropped off blankets for wash dry fold... simple request. They charged me $19 a blanket and marked it dry clean. Had I known prior that it would be this expensive I could have taken these to a laundry mat and who would have done it for less than $5. I ended up paying $71.35 to wash dry fold three plain Jane blankets. In the end I asked if they could work with me on this since it was a miscommunication at the very beginning that they could've let me know how much it was going to be prior to me leaving the blankets with them and the lady was not willing to make a happy customer. They have now lost all my dry cleaning business and any future needs I would've had for their establishment whatsoever. Sad to see customer service not a priority. read more

If you advertise alterations and being open certain hours, the first question should not be "How much do you want cut off?". I went to the Washington store first who said the alterations guy only worked out of this location. So I drove to this store and he left early. Horrible customer service and they consistently misplace items of mine. To top it off, the called me about 5 times within 5 minutes causing me to step out of my meeting to take the call as I couldn't identify the number. They were calling to tell me the card they had on file wasn't going through. The appalling part about this is I hadn't picked up my dry cleaning so why are they attempting to charge a card on file I don't even remember giving them?? Do NOT take your cleaning to this place. Very bad experience with ROC. They charged $44.25 to dry clean a choir dress. I checked with other places who charge $15-20. Their sign out front says 30% off dry cleaning on Wed which is when I picked mine up. Although the sign doesn't say it, they told me it was only for items dropped off on a Wed. I saw a pile of coupons in one of the drawers and asked if I could use one and the lady told me that since I had already paid the store mgr would have to do it and the store mgr was out for a few minutes. She said the store mgr would call me. Guess who never called! I went by the next day and she said that the attendant told her I wasn't interested in a store credit so she didn't call me back - but I was never offered a store credit. While they were both nice, the attendant and the store mgr had no desire to do anything to make it a better experience for the customer. Very disappointing. read more

Horrible customer service!!! I tailored my pants there and they had to re do it several times. What really bothered me was the fact that I was charged twice to fix the same pants. They charged me for a recut the first time then charged me another fee that they claimed... "they had to do more bc I requested it" - not true. I brought in a pair of pant for them to copy from. I understand the material was slightly different BUT the measurement should be close OR they should of told me from the beginning that it couldn't be done. DO NOT go there!!! Instead of doing the right thing they will just OVER charge. I probably would of not complained if the front did not charge me twice. I understand that if something can not be tailored exactly but instead of fixing the problem they will make excuses and over charge/ make you waste your time to take advantage of the situation. Unacceptable!!! I do not mind spending money for service if done correctly. There are several other cleaners around pick any of them BUT DO NOT GO THERE!!!!! read more

I've tried this place out a few times recently due to my office being relocated near it. I had excellent service and a like-family relationship with my prior cleaners. After the few times at River Oaks Cleaners, I can absolutely tell you it's not the kind place I want to give my business to. I gave it multiple chances but I was always had the same results. The 2 girls up at the front are very unfriendly and rude. I also had an alteration done on a pair of pants. YIKES... my 4 year old nephew could've yielded the same results. Pathetic. I WILL NOT be going back to this cleaners until they replace the rude girls up at the front and replace their "tailor". Don't be fooled by the "River Oaks" in the name. It definitely doesn't belong in the same breath. Poor customer service. read more

I never write reviews, but I felt the need to let people know about this place. I have had multiple bad experiences here on top of it being way overpriced. Once they gave me someone else's dress rather than mine and when I brought it back to get my dress they told me that this one was mine... Definitely not. They ended up finding my dress and giving it back, so I decided to let it slide. Then I brought in 3 pairs of nice, black, designer jeans. They faded all 3 pairs to the point they are closer to gray. Overall, bad customer service and a poor dry cleaning service provided. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

Very disappointed. I have gone to R.O. Cleaners on Memorial for years, but had some issues lately with shirts coming back with stains that weren't there when I brought them in. This last time; however, I did not even receive one of my shirts. I had my ticket saying I'd dropped off 11 shirts and only received 10, but they kept telling me that they must have miscounted. I always count my shirts and get them to confirm. There was no miscount. Then they want me to tell them which shirt was missing. I have around 30 shirts. I have no idea which ones I bring in at a particular time. I told them I would not be coming back. read more
