I do not recommend bringing your items here. Go down the street to Tide Cleaners. I dropped off a couple of comforters that I needed by Friday and they completely dropped the ball. They told me it wouldn't be ready until the following week. In fact, they never even started it. The woman that works the counter in the afternoons was completely unhelpful and rude. I was quoted $395 for my wedding dress to be cleaned. The process is already very annoying because this location does not actually clean wedding dresses, so you must drop it off and then wait to be called with a quote. When I picked up the dress, I was given a total of $460. The employee tried to pass it off as tax, which I then had to explain to her that with tax it only should have been $427. She repeatedly kept claiming that she gave me the price "before tax". She then admitted it was actually a $30 "environmental cleaning fee". Seriously? Give the price as $425 then. On top of an already ridiculous price, adding an extra $30 fee is ridiculous. Would not recommend!! read more

They were doing so well with cleaning some of my luxury brand clothes that require specific care and attention. I had already had issues with previous cleaners and had gotten word of mouth recommendations for RO Cleaners. I dropped off a special silk top of mine to be dry cleaned before a cruise I had planned months in advanced. I picked up the shirt and days later went to pack my top and the shirt was completely ruined! It was a white-ish silk top with dark blue print. Well, the blue had been stained all over the white area, the shirt was wrinkled, had shrunk and misshaped. My only guess is that it was washed and not dry cleaned. This was back in February 2023. As of today (11/29/23), I have yet to get a resolution from the manager after many back and forth phone calls, emails, and incident forms filled out. I recently sent a final email informing the manager that if we cannot resolve this issue within the following week I will have to move forward with legal action! No response has been sent back to me after 14 days, past the week I offered to resolve this. Now I will be moving forward with legal action. If I can update this post later I will, with a resolution if any will happen. read more

River Oaks Cleaners always do a great job for us! On time, text updates, fresh, and friendly

I can't believe I fell for it again - I gave them a chance and they ripped me off the same as they did before I had left them. I live a few blocks away from River Oaks Cleaners. I patronized them for years. They have good hours and they do decent work. About 12-18 months ago, they started adding surcharges to my shirts (mens laundered). Instead of the regular price, or the $1.49 w/ DC price, they were ADDING 50 cents per shirts claiming they were extra large. OK, I thought. I suppose that is their new policy. I'm not a small guy, but I don't play for the Rockets or have an aspiring career in Sumo. I've grown to a Size 17.5 and 18, which is the largest you can get in a mainstream store. I paid that surcharge for months until I read the fine print of their Valpak coupons (will post pictures), shirt sizes 15-18! Basically, they were gouging me 50/shirt, which is 50cents per day (5-6 days per week) for a long time. When I questioned them on it, they acted dumb (but no refund). So I left! I went a bit further down the road to Monarch, where I do pay $1.99 (never higher, never on sale) with outstanding service. However, their hours aren't as extensive as ROC. This month, in a fit of desperation of being a Dad and working long hours, I needed the late hours of ROC. I gave them another shot after almost 2 years, and reminded them of their mistake in the past. On pick up, I get the receipt (attached). Shirt w/ DC, 1.75, but 4 for $9.00 (by the way, I had 4 such parcels of 4). I walked out of there looking only at the $1.75, but while my kid was wrestling me from my clutches, something didn't seem right - 4 for $9.00? What kind of Common Core math is that?! I challenged them on it - again, they acted dumb. Supposedly, a manager was going to call me - really? That call never came. GOODBYE RIVER OAKS CLEANERS! You have no shame and you cheat people without following your own policy. Way to hide it on the receipt. We recently started coming to ROC and I have yet to be impressed with the customer service. Every time we come in, the girls working the front desk are rude, not friendly at all and act as though we're bothering them - they have no customer service skills whatsoever. They should look into getting another job if they don't like what they do because they are driving business away. I'm not quite sure how management is blind to this? When we first started coming here we were confused on the Wednesday 30% off discount special as the charges were all over the place and it seems to change or new rules apply each time we drop off our items. For example, on Wed. you can't drop off before 9am and have out same day as the discounted rate won't apply. French cuffs are not included or they charge more, IDK - just so many rules just to receive the discounted rate. Shirts that are not laundered are $5.25, laundered $1.99 and .30 cents more for french cuff shirts and pants are $5.50. I had to check with the girl as our charges seemed inconsistent. Outside of that, dry cleaning has been consistent. The location is convenient...but I'd rather pay a little bit more and have better customer service compared to dealing with attitude any day. Management, if and when you change your front staff OR teach them some customer service 101 skills feel free to keep us posted and we might return. read more

The service is horrible but if you overlook that they have the other bases covered even really good stain removal. Very horrible customer service. I was told that my dry cleaning would be ready today. I came here at 6:35pm to pick up my 2 dresses and it was not ready. No one called me to let me know that it was not ready. I had to leave early from my other priorities to come and pick up my dry cleaning and now I have to come by and waste another 30 minutes to drive to pick my dry cleaning. I will never come here again. I do not recommend this location and any other of the River Oaks Cleaners locations. read more

I have taken clothing in for cleaning and alteration, and I've also taken a large comforter for cleaning. All my items came back clean and well-pressed, no complaints there. It did take 3-7 day for me to get my items back, which was a little inconvenient but not a deal breaker. My alteration was done perfectly, just like I specified. Brought a sweater in for dry cleaning- no stains just normal wear. Got the sweater back with a huge ink stain, destroyed fabric and an "oops" sign tagged to it. No explanation- they hid it in my stack of clothes when they gave them to me and I didn't see it until I got home. Won't be returning. read more

I've been a customer here for 12 years...until last week when I picked up my cashmere sweater and it was totally ruined. It looked like it had been pressed rather than dry cleaned as it was perfectly straight, no longer had any elasticity at the bottom and had fade marks. It was brand new and I had only worn it once. The manager/owner claims that it was brought in that way and that it must have been left out in the sun causing the fading. Funny how the sun made straight parallel marks rather than an overall fade. What was more frustrating was the manager made every excuse under the sun (pardon the pun) that there was no way possible that it might have been their fault and he was a smart aleck to me on top of it! So much for giving a long time customer some courtesy. read more

We have started using River Oaks because the previous provider we used had continually disappointed. The positive with River Oaks: they perform quality dry cleaning services, and when you receive the items back they include an item by item breakdown noting the type of item cleaned (down to the brand) and the price. We certainly cannot fault the condition the clothes come back in. The negative: the price of some (not all) items. It's more expensive than what I'm accustomed to. For my work shirts, they generally charge $2.75 - which is absolutely reasonable particularly given the quality of work. However, I have two shirts I have been charged $12.65 the two times I have had them cleaned, and I'm not sure why: no information was provided as to why the cost was different, and it's far too expensive to have them cleaned as they need to be done each time they are worn. Also, I just had a suit cleaned and it came out at over $30 when tax was added. That seems pretty expensive too. As I noted above, the work they do is quality but in some instances the cost has taken me by surprise. read more

I use this cleaner because of the location, but not because of the price. The cost is about $5 an item and I, personally, can't stand how they use tissue paper in everything. There is a 20% off coupon in the valupack sent out in the mail monthly. Definitely keep an eye out for that. read more

Do not go here!!! First of all, it is insanely expensive. I brought 19 items in (dress shirts, pants and sweaters) and it was close to $100. They screwed up and separated my "order" so half was ready when it was supposed to be and I was told that the other half would be ready the next day. They also told me that I would not be charged for the items that were delayed. I went to pick up the second part of my belongings and was asked to pay for them. I explained that I was told there would be no charge because of the delay. They did not care. The girl that was waiting on me called her boss who said they "could not do anything". She even called the girl that told me that the secondary items would be no charge and she called me a liar. I totally go played. Don't let it happen to you. Wish I could give zero stars. read more

DO NOT COME COME HERE I REPEAT DO NOT COME HERE. OVER $1000 IN CLOTHES RUINED/LOST. First things first, I went to pick up my clothing, only half of them were ready and the rest were said to be at another location. That was okay, I just took what they had, I come home and $300 LF jacket that was detailed was completely ruined.. completely. All the design looked like it had been scrubbed off. Next a Fenty puma sweatshirt was missing the tie that goes through it and crisscrosses down the front.. Next for the cherry on top A $800 floor length silver gown has mysteriously gone missing.. I have never wrote a yelp review before but this needs to be known. I over $1000 worth of clothes missing / ruined. And they refuse to take accountability saying that I picked it up in the first order. I understand things get misplaced, some shorts, maybe a shirt.. not a floor length, bright silver dress. I usually am very understanding, not when I am blatantly taken advantage of. A lawyer has been hired and I am taking legal measures. If anyone has any advice, please help. Also, THEY STILL MADE ME PAY, EVEN THOUGH IM SHORT $1000 at their expense.
