I love this restaurant and its location. Nothing beats fine dining, and cocktails by the river. Always a Summer hit for me. I also love when you feel like you're the only person being catered to, this kind. of service is almost a lost art for waiters and waitresses.

Very nice atmosphere. Food was pretty good. Could have had some more flavor but overall the crab was cooked well. The server was on top of everything and had very quick service.

It was almost a full moon on a warm October day. Moon on the water, freighter floating by and a great night out with my husband. This is the kind of atmosphere that makes St. Clair a unique destination. This St. Clair staple; I am shocked I have never reviewed this riverside gem. Well, I haven't always thought of it as a gem- but tonight may have swayed my opinion. It may have been the best food, service and gestalt ever experienced at "The Crab". A popular employment spot for my friends in the '90s I used to enjoy the experience as a teen and always found it a special treat with my family, Tonight I felt that way again. But, I've had some hit and miss over the years so I write this review cautiously optimistic this experience can be replicated! Our server Eric, the singular most personable server in St. Clair Co. ! He was attentive, friendly, chatty and knowledgeable (all super qualities), Food was spectacular- had the beet, pear, walnut, blue cheese salad. Lovely- seriously a perfect balance of fall tastes. It was super! The scallops with green apple hash- also a winner. Scallops were perfect and butternut base smooth. Hash was lacking texture to balance- good flavor. Husband had Prime Rib cooked blue- he says it was great- along with a wedge salad. Also top five in the wedge department (White Horse Tavern still number one). Bread basket is a winner- solid rolls and fish spread (used to get way more!) crackers. It was a great evening. Looking forward to our next trip. Maybe we will spend the night in the hotel and watch the River after our next meal.

Nice spot for dinner right on the St Clair River. The service was great. Drinks and food priced reasonably. Reservations are required, especially if you want a coveted outdoor table. Sip your drink and watch the boats go by. We ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer, delicious and the halibut entree. One blackened, one sautéed. The fish was just a touch overcooked. A very enjoyable meal overall. Our server was attentive.

Update to my reviews, I decided to try something different from my usual pasta dish and Wowza....the River Crab knocked it out of the park with the Alaskan Halibut. I'm still thinking about the sauces paired with the Halibut, fantastic! I would recommend serving whole asparagus to offset the entree and possibly rice to add substance to the entree! I loved every bite!

The ambiance is definitely nice -- it's the kind of place you'd want to sit in, study at, or hang out for a while. But once you actually get to the food and drinks, it's a different story. The service was okay. Everyone was friendly, but it took way too long for my order to come out -- especially considering all I got was avocado toast. And when it finally arrived, it was the blandest avocado toast I've ever had in my life. Zero flavor, no seasoning, nothing special about it at all. Their matcha was honestly bad, just not good at all. The boba was probably the best thing I had, and their coffee was just alright -- nothing worth going out of your way for. Overall, TAP Café feels way overhyped. The vibe is cool, the space is cute, but the food and drinks just don't live up to the aesthetic. If you're going for Instagram pictures or a chill place to sit, it works. If you're going for flavor or quality, it's disappointing.

To all of my fellow Timmies lovers out there, please read…read more I need your help getting Tim's to realize how many times they get orders wrong. A coffee missing creamer here and a bagel with the wrong cream cheese there may seem insignificant, but these are consistent occurrences. I'm at the point of frustration now. After many times of brushing it off I was ready to complain. I live in a different town than my local Tim Hortons. So, when I got home with missing food and unmarked drinks, I decided it was worth the drive back. When I arrived and spoke with the manager, she told me I should have checked the screen for accuracy as well as checking my items before leaving. The screen had been checked and I had assumed my order to be correct when I was handed my bag. After telling the manager this was not the only time my orders have been wrong from this location she told me they 'don't get many complaints'. I urge you to complain. If you get the wrong bagel. Tell them. If your coffee has creamer instead of milk. Complain. If you're missing a donut from your order. Let them know. I'm tired of ordering a tea and coming home with a coffee. I'm tired of ordering a coffee with 2 sweeteners and getting a black coffee. I'm tired of getting a medium cup of hot chocolate in a large size cup when I paid for a large. All of these happened to me personally, at the same Tim Horton's location, and I'm done letting it go without saying anything. Help me spread the word and let them know this needs to stop. We pay so much for our daily coffees and bagels, they owe it to us to get our orders right.

I've travelled quite a bit to Sarnia on business. I've heard from local colleagues that I should try Halibut House Fish and Chips. What drew me was the fact that they served haddock as one of the fish, and I have had fond memories of haddock fish fry. My colleague and I went there the other night and we really enjoyed our dinners. Both of us tried the haddock (and I also tried the cod which was also excellent). I loved the accompanying cole slaw which was not mayonnaise based, but vinegar based. The fish was a very large portion. It was not greasy (because they fried it at a high temperature), and it was flavorful. Lots of other places don't pay much attention to frequent change out of their fryer oils which take on a bitter taste and will be imparted to the food. That's because the structure of oil has changed from their use. This was not an issue at Halibut House. I didn't notice any after-taste. My compliments to the crew for paying attention to these details. The batter was very light and it complemented the fish, which was very fresh. As the frequency of my travel there is increasing, they can count on my future visits.
