Emma was a great server. Allowed us to take our time ordering, prompt on delivery of food and beverages. Had a great attitude. One of the best servers we have had in a while. The food was very Good. Chips and dip were delicious crispy and the dip was outstanding. The Michigan cherry salad was fresh, crisp and large. The brisket was amazing. The sauce packed a little bite, the meat was falling apart and melted in your mouth. The mashed potatos had a few lumps, which made them taste home made and went excellent with the meat and sauce. The inside was very nice and welcoming. The sound of bowling could be heard but was not intense. A great evening at a great establishment.

The best brunch for the Money! Great service and great mimosas! Sunday brunch here is my new happy place!

It had been well over 15 years since we have been here. We wanted to throw something new into the mix and we decided to check it out. Food was amazing! The menu has a great variety and selection of entrees. I had the lemon chicken, swapped the rice for mashed potatoes. Chicken was great!! The lemon sauce had a nice and bright tang. Potatoes were just ok, generous portion. The roasted asparagus was perfectly cooked!! It was a very satisfying plate!

I been here before but I will admit the brunch taste old and this was at noon. The chicken should be fried in flower it gave off fish batter vibes. Mimosas were great. Macaroni and cheese was salty, bacon was hard, French toast wasn't good either. Eggs were fine. Diced potatoes were great. I prefer their dinner menu because everything on it is excellent. Service was fine. But the group all agreed we won't be going back for brunch.

    Pear Mule. Very refreshing!

I'm surprised I have not reviewed Bath City yet! This is one of my "go to" places in The Clem. I have had several events here. My 30th birthday party was upstairs as were several work events and retirement parties etc. This is a feather bowling place, but also a restaurant and bar. So you can do what you'd like as far as that goes. We chose to sit at the bar as that's our usual preference. We got the last two seats and before we knew it that place was totally packed! The bartenders were running around like crazy! Our bartender Derrick was the best!! As busy as it was he remained cheerful and attentive! We ordered a couple of beers to start and then found out it was happy hour until 6! Happy Hour on a sat?? That's awesome! Since the pandemic most places have done away with happy hour as they open later. I'm super excited to see that some are bringing it back! We absolutely love a good happy hour and will go out of our way to go places that have a good one. We ordered our food and it was so fast! He chose a wrap of some sort. I didn't pay too much attention because my Bistro Shrimp was so incredible!!! Apparently, I moan when I like what I'm eating and I was definitely moaning. Haha. It was so delicious! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I rarely eat my whole portion and I practically licked my plate clean!! After dinner we decided to have a couple of cocktails. I absolutely love caramel and could drizzle caramel on just about anything and eat it. So when I saw the Kissed Caramel Chata, it was absolutely calling my name! It was a perfect dessert drink! Absolute heaven! They have a fairly extensive martini list as well. I had ordered a pear martini and was confused that it came in a mule cup. Derrick recognized my surprise and realized he made me a mule instead of a martini (they were sooo busy!) He told me to just drink it and he will make me a martini. I have not tried a Moscow mule in forever so I wasn't sure if I would like it. To my astonishment it was fantastic! Now I'm interested in trying different types! "There are no mistakes in life only happy accidents!" ~Bob Ross. I am thinking of having a get together upstairs again as it's been a while! Most definitely will be back. I want more of that shrimp!!

Came in on a Sunday afternoon for feather bowling. Fun activity in a cool, historical building. We ordered drinks which were good. Can't speak for the food because we couldn't order anything off a menu as they were only serving brunch downstairs in the dining room. But it was pretty full so assuming it is good. If you're looking for a fun, different type of group activity with family or friends you would probably like it.

This place has a great vibe and seasonal Fall menu. This was our first visit and we were super impressed! Had chips & dip for app (delicious). Loved the pretzel-encrusted walleye and the apple cider mule was FANTASTIC! Best, most refreshing "cider" I've ever had! LOL

The salads are huge, but they are very onion forward, so just a heads up if onions aren't your thing. Shrimp comes piled on top of some dishes and you can add or remove it. Also worth noting, nothing is overly spicy, just solid flavor that doesn't knock you out. Service: The staff is genuinely kind and super accommodating. You can tell it's family owned. Everyone seems to care and wants you to enjoy your meal. Ambiance: The space is cute and Creole themed. It's cozy, casual. Easy 5 stars for me, this place is a gem and I'll keep coming back for sure.

The…read moreinterior has been remodeled and looks great, love the dark layout and the huge dining room, however the food remains touch and go. Certain dishes are great, others not. Got a huge bread basket that looked empty, when peering in, two small pieces of stale french bread smothered in Saran wrap were visible. Shame all that wasted space. C'mon Gumbo. Don't skimp on the bread. Serve it fresh too! During past dining experiences, the fried shrimp and hushpuppies were much larger. During this visit they were midget sized, like they were "cooking to a price point". That said, Gumbo's always excelled at frying and they tasted great. The fried catfish was dredged in cornmeal and flour. It tasted as good as catfish can taste, considering slimy-stank taste is natural to a bottom feeder and next to impossible to cook out. If you like catfish, gather up a chair, you're in the right place. The gumbo was watery with small dices of sausage and more midget shrimp. The broth had little taste. Mediocre gumbo is a misdemeanor violation. I wrote Gumbo's a ticket on that one. The cajun pasta was very good. In the old days they used bowtie pasta in a thick creamy sauce smacked with Cajun decadence and big ole' shrimps. Today they used penne (not a big deal, but it cheapens the dish) in a disappointly watery sauce with a few midget shrimp. It still tasted good but it quite clear at this point Gumbo's was cooking to a price point. The STAR OF THE SHOW was the shrimp crawfish etouffee. Wow! Thick, creamy, rich gravy with a heavenly base of toasted roux having notes of roasted peanut. They got that one right, midget shrimps and all. I want another bowl NOW! DIATRIBE ALERT: Service wasn't terrible but far from exceptional. The new generation of wait staff expects big tips for mediocre service, like we should should be honored by their presence. I always tip large despite my general grumpiness. Problem is, tipping culture has gotten out of hand. It's become a bottomless pit of greed. Front and back staff with their hands out perpetually. Cash registers programmed to induce tip guilt. Dirty looks for not tipping a carry-out order. CARRY-OUT RULES: If I don't sit down to eat, I ain't tipping your ass. Go back to Nursing School or something like that. Why should the customer pick up the slack for an industry refusing to pay employees a decent wage? SUMMARY: Love the vibe. Like the food. Gumbo's was clearly cooking to a price point. Midget shrimp? Sacriledge. New Orleans ain't like that.

The pierogi was dry and not great, so I would skip those next time. For dinner I ordered the mac and cheese and French onion soup. The French onion soup was so salty it was inedible. The Mac and cheese was also disappointing. I thought it would be baked or have a sauce and it didn't. It reminded me more of a kids meal (but with adult prices) and was a small portion. Husband got the fish and chips and he enjoyed them, but said he wished they gave malt vinegar with them. Overall the service was slow and some dishes were great and some were not so great.

I feel a similar sense of guilt about how I've treated this restaurant. I've been here since Covid, but I should've updated my review. While I didn't like how they handled the pandemic (Faye acted like there was no pandemic), the food has always been amazing. And, it still is. I'm not happy that they don't have sandwiches anymore, unless you count hamburgers. But, I understand businesses need to simplify to stay profitable. I don't think lack of sandwiches is going to be a problem if they keep making the burgers this good. The beefiness is profound, and it shows that they are using fresh, high-quality meat. The mushroom and Swiss burger has a stack of sautéed mushrooms and a generous amount of Swiss. I really appreciate the waitress asking me first if I wanted mayo on it... mayo would've taken away from the robust flavors. I actually kept going "mm-mm" after each bite. And, look at the ridiculous amount of fries in my picture. These are seriously good fries. I do want to order the fish and chips next time. My daughter got them, and I'm glad she was willing to share. The whitefish has a sweetness you only get from fresh fish. And, the breading is crispy, and not the least bit greasy. My wife said she wasn't hungry (though she did have a bite of everything we ordered), so she ordered the cream of broccoli soup. It was wonderfully flavorful. As with everything else we ordered today, we would be happy to order it again. The service was excellent, and I don't mind the no-frills setting. There's no way you'd expect an old school bar to have food this good. Coming here during happy hour also helped. A strong Moscow Mule cost $10, and my 22 ounce Guinness only cost $8. During the daytime, however, the atmosphere felt quite dark and more like a bar than a traditional brunch spot. Our children ordered the Fruity Crème Waffle and Fruity Crème Pancakes with sausage. My husband ordered the lobster bisque and Eggs Benedict, while I had the breakfast burrito and a Bloody Mary. The kids enjoyed their meals, and my breakfast burrito and Bloody Mary were both good. Nothing particularly unique or memorable, but solid choices overall. Unfortunately, my husband's meal was more disappointing. His lobster bisque arrived barely warm, and the lobster on top was ice cold. He also felt that some of the seafood resembled imitation crab rather than lobster. To the restaurant's credit, he sent it back, but it wasn't a great first impression. The Eggs Benedict was decent, though not especially filling or noteworthy. Our biggest issue was the value. While the food was generally good, the prices felt very high for the portion sizes and overall quality. For example, one waffle cut into four pieces with a drizzle of sauce priced at $17 seemed difficult to justify. Several menu items left us feeling the same way. We really wanted to love Terry's brunch because we've had positive experiences there before, but ultimately the food didn't match the price point for us. While service was pleasant and the meal was okay overall, we left feeling underwhelmed and don't plan to return for brunch.
