Only go if there's no one inside and if you are not a tourist. Unfortunately, being a tourist and walking in to an almost full place (4 out of 5 or so tables were full) with 1 group in front of me to order gave me a terrible experience.
The people working there were extremely rude (for detail see their numerous google reviews from low to high!) and treats you awfully if you are a tourist. Given there was one open table, my fiancé got a seat while I was waiting to pay and he got kicked out from the table because you must pay first and then sit. However that was a lame excuse and a lie because right after I paid, another table opened up and we asked to be seated and they still said no because they "gave the table" to the couple right after me. The couple had not even paid yet- what happened to pay first and sit?
Not only that but I asked if they had cafe allonge, which is just a long shot espresso charged the same amount as espresso, and the cashier said yes. However, she charged me 7 euros for Americano- which is espresso with water added. A completely different drink.
Not sure if we were Americans or if I was Asian or if I didn't speak good French but the service here was terrible and absolutely ruined my experience in Paris. I am writing this review so I can warn my fellow tourists, Americans, and/or Asian people trying to visit here. Don't get denied seating and lied about what you order. This is the 21st century in a global world. They can do better. read more
