Laduree has delicious macarons and shops all over Paris. I didn't realize they were served cold and admit they taste much better chilled. The hubby and I ordered an 8-pack for €27 which i thought pretty steep, but realized it was only a few euros higher than other shops. Out of the different flavors we ordered, the lemon, pistachio, and raspberry were by far our favorites. The least favorite was vanilla because it was ultra sweet. Almond was unique and tasty. Pop in and grab some for yourself or to take home as a gift; just be sure to buy them. A day before flying out if you're taking them as a gift, so they're as fresh as possible. read more

I definitely wanted to try some Laduree macarons while in Paris. We have it in NYC but I wanted to go back to its roots. Since we had a late breakfast, we wanted to just sit down and have the macarons and maybe a drink. We came in on a Friday at 1 and were led to the upstairs dining room, which had a lot of charm. It's definitely for tourists because everyone else around us were tourists too, which I didn't mind. We ordered four macarons - Marie-Antoinette Tea, Pistachio, Raspberry, and Orange Blossom. The pistachio and raspberry were pretty standard. Orange blossom was good. My favorite was the Marie-Antoinette Tea. It was so good, I wish I bought some from the shop downstairs. You could actually taste the tea flavor in it. The pistachio milkshake was too sweet, especially with the macarons. Should have opted for a latte or something with less/no sugar. We had a quick, simple breakfast stop at this Ladurée location before a full day of wandering around Paris. We just wanted croissants and coffee, although there is quite an extensive menu for breakfast, as well as a gazillion amazing looking French pastries to choose from. We were seated quickly. The service was perfect. My wife had a capuccino which was beautifully decorated with the Ladurée logo in the foam, and I had a double espresso. Both drinks came with a little piece of chocolate which was a lovely surprise addition. Although we wanted the comfort of table service, there's a take-away storefront right next door where all the pastries are on display, so head there if that's the delicious convenience you're looking for. This is an upscale Paris chain which you'll find many locations of throughout Paris, in airports and even in other parts of the world. Laduree is a must, you just have to at least try a macaron and it's even better to get the full experience in the salon de thé. My daughter and I keep tasting various macarons from different places in Paris and we always go back to Laduree as our favorite. Some are very close,like Pierre Hermé but none manages to top Laduree. My favorite is the traditional Pistache, vanille and framboise are also delicious. It seems like the more traditional flavors might be the best. Orange blossom and rose for example are a little to stong to our taste, but no matter the flavor, the consistency is absolutely perfect. I ordered Creme Cafe and French Toast with sides ham & eggs. It was the best French toast I've eaten, so soft and moist. The eggs tastes fresh and ham are just ham. While in Paris, I tried two different macaron shops, both notably famous. However, when it comes to popularity, Laduree is the IT STORE since they also have locations in America and proximity to shopping districts in Paris. The storefront looks very small from the outside. However, upon entry, it's a long walkway filled with sweet goods and gifts. The interior is charming and organized, and the line moves fast. I realized in Paris that, they don't waste time thinking about what to get even where there are over 20 macarons and other delicious pastries to look at. The boxes are pretty, and prices are similar to the states. The reason for the FOUR STARS has nothing to do with their food, service, or atmosphere. The atmosphere was excellent and the same with the service. Everything about the MACARONS was GREAT, with its sweet meringue, delicate shells, and tasty fillings. However, after trying several macarons, if a store specializes in sweets and desserts, it will be good. In other words, it's not worth the detour just for the Laduree macarons unless it is an absolute on your bucket list. read more

We visited the Ladureé store at Musée du Louvre and it did not disappoint. The line moved quickly and the staff were extremely helpful. Je ne parle pas Francais, but most or all of the staff spoke English, so the ordering process was easy. The most difficult part was deciding among the delicious options. I selected the Eugénie, which did not disappoint. While the Italians may have originated macarons, the French improved them and Ladureé are the best my family have tasted. They also deliver to the United States which is helpful if US visitors do not want to transport them home. Ladurée was absolutely delicious, and quite a nice relaxing experience. The ambiance is very quiet and peaceful. The service was quick and efficient, and they spaced out everything nicely so we could enjoy our time there. The tea was amazing, I got a nice black tea (lauderee tea I think it was called) and it went perfectly with the dessert. The raspberry tart was arguably one of the best raspberry tarts I've ever had. It tasted so fresh and the flavor was the perfect blend between sweet and sour. The chocolate cake was also fantastic, it was very rich. I would definitely recommend the raspberry tart. Amazing chain restaurant for macarons! My family and I both dined at the cafe and had some macarons for takeaway as well. We only wanted a snack, and our dining experience was one of the classiest and delicious meals, but definitely expensive in Paris! Haven't been to Lauduree in Paris for probably 5 years now. Apparently afternoon tea doesn't exist anymore. But also the service and food quality has taken a slump. Sure, Laduree is super overhyped, but it doesn't matter. I loved it anyway. We had a brief wait but were seated in 5 minutes, which was a surprise once we walked into the dining room. The room is small and can maybe seat 50-60 people at most, with approximately 20 tables available for groups. Free Laduree wifi and the bathrooms are delightfully scented of chai and rose - the soap is scented too, which made me not want to wash my hands again. Our server brought us some menus and we browsed them extensively before ordering some coffee, water, tea, pastries and ice cream. The black tea was fragrant and slightly fruity, the oolong a la fleur d'oranger. It came in a hearty single pot serving. We asked for two coffees, and it came in one pot serving as well. We also ordered the rose petal ice cream and the tarte au citron. Both were delicious, although I definitely preferred the ice cream. The taste of the rose petal is pretty heavy so that should be considered. The tarte was tart, with the fresh fruit atop the custard and tart shell. We decided against trying the macarons in store, as they are much more expensive, but my sister led us to the small Laduree bakery next door where we bought a box of eight macarons for a discounted cost. We also bought the croissant and pain au chocolat to eat with our coffee the next morning. All the macarons were delicious! Decadent and sweet but crispy and chewy. I recommend the rose petal, the strawberry marshmallow, rose lychee and the toffee. The Marie Antoinette was my least favorite but it was pretty interesting. Great desserts, amazing teas and horrible service. The Macarons were similar to what we have had in New york: chewy, crispy shell, light ans sugary and flavorful. Pistachio and Rose Petal were some their better flavors. The strawberry cake was a perfect dessert. Slightly sweet, fluffy cake and the frosting tasted like Chantilly cream. Fresh strawberries sat between the cake layers. Don't be fooled. It looks like a boring strawberry cake but tastes great! Teas: We had The Othello (Indian tea with cardamon, cinnamon, pepper and ginger) and The Melange Special Laduree (citrus fruits with rose, vanilla, and cinnamon). So fragrant, and delicious! The Special Laduree was one of the best citrus fruit teas that I've ever had. The signature tea was perfect with one lump of brown sugar. The sugar brightened the fruit and made the spices come together in a delightful taste. My Othello tea was also much improved with some sugar. The horrible service was a result of my waitress thick accent upon her French and her fear of speaking English. I tried with my French but she tried to speak with us as little as possible. And she neglected to bring us water. And forgot to get our cake. And after sitting for hour with empty plates, neglected to ask us if we desired anything else. Upon our arrival into Paris, my friend's grandmother wanted to have lunch with us so my friend chose this place ahead of time. Never have I felt the need to stand up tall and fix myself up so much for this occasion. I don't know if I could have gotten by speaking English here, but maybe. I got the truffle omelette, which was incredibly smooth and creamy and perfectly done. They gave me enough truffles as well. I don't think I'll ever have such a decadent omelette anywhere else. For dessert, I had the chocolate cream puff, with a mini puff on top, which was better than the huge one. Chocolate was decadent and heavy, as was the puff itself. We also ordered macarons and picked them up next door. Vanilla and chocolate are the classics. Vanilla was excellent and the chocolate ganache was extremely rich. Laduree stole my heart while in Paris. It was the Champs Elysses location that was so wonderful we kept going back. We happened to be in the Madeleine area, so we decided to stop for desserts at this location. This location is a lot smaller than the Champs Elysses location and it isn't as beautiful (although still gorgeous). We sat upstairs and all of the tables are very close to each other. Please expect that whatever conversation you're having with the party you're with, the tables next to you will hear your every word. The service is not the best here, but I guess that's to be expected in Paris. We ordered Cappuccino's, a Frosted Croissant, and a Lemon Macaron to share. We weren't hungry for anything more, as we had recently had lunch and wanted to save room for dinner. The Cappuccino was delicious and so was the moist and decadent frosted croissant. The lemon macaron was a bit too sweet to my liking. Laduree is a fantastic place to come with your loved one or just with a group of people. After my friend and I finished eating, I tried to get my waiter's attention 3+ times, two of which times, he looked at me and mouthed "I'm sorry, one moment". I completely understand that a waiter is busy at the moment, but I expect him/her to come back to me within an appropriate amount of time. I ended up having to wait 15 minutes just for him to come over, at which time my friend and I didn't even want to order dessert anymore. We just asked for the check, and that's it. Tip?
