Laduree is a must, you just have to at least try a macaron and it's even better to get the full experience in the salon de thé. My daughter and I keep tasting various macarons from different places in Paris and we always go back to Laduree as our favorite. Some are very close, like Pierre Hermé but none manages to top Laduree. My favorite is the traditional Pistache, vanille and framboise are also delicious. It seems like the more traditional flavors might be the best. Orange blossom and rose for example are a little to stong to our taste, but no matter the flavor, the consistency is absolutely perfect. The salon de thé, frozen in time, deliciously old fashioned, is worth a visit.

If service was a little better I would have given it 5 stars. Overall, it was a good experience with a couple of minor hiccups. My breakfast was excellent. I ordered Creme Cafe and French Toast with sides ham & eggs. It was the best French toast I've eaten, so soft and moist. The eggs tastes fresh and ham are just ham. The atmosphere was quiet but the interior was very beautifully decorated. Server didn't speak much English and was gone most of the time. Food took a bit long to come out. They don't have boxes to bring food to-go. They only have boxes for macarons. So whatever you ordered, make sure you can finish it or it will go to waste.

Boy was I pissed when my two hot chocolates arrived in a small little hot pot. Cmon.. I ordered two.. So we poured them into our mugs.. started drinking and had to stop to catch my breath. Wow. Like drinking chocolate ganache... so darn good. The pot seemed endless. Everytime we drank, refilled and drank again there was plenty in the hot pot. This was a hit on a cold Paris day and a lovely experience.

Fancy place to get macarons and everything is very nice and well-appointed. We told the worker that we were taking these as gifts and she put stickers so we knew which box was which, and packed them very nicely. She was very patient as we chose a wide variety to take back home. The macarons themselves are very tasty- my favorite is probably the passion fruit, but the Christmas flavors are very good too.

We visited the Ladureé store at Musée du Louvre and it did not disappoint. The line moved quickly and the staff were extremely helpful. Je ne parle pas Francais, but most or all of the staff spoke English, so the ordering process was easy. The most difficult part was deciding among the delicious options. I selected the Eugénie, which did not disappoint. While the Italians may have originated macarons, the French improved them and Ladureé are the best my family have tasted. They also deliver to the United States which is helpful if US visitors do not want to transport them home. I still recommend visiting the store to experience the vivid decor and appreciate the French commitment to presentation.

I got all the flavors of macarons to taste test them and they were amazing. The service at first was annoying because they didn't accept card because there machine was broken so we walked nextdoor to the restaurant and they brought their machine over and then let us buy it. I did a review on my tik tok of all the flavors if you want to check it out it's hannah_hillson. Here is my pretty macaron picture as well. I wish they had a box with all the macarons besides the gift box but they didn't so they need to fix that. overall loved the macarons

A must while in Paris. The store is beautifully decorated. The sales associates are very efficient. There are dozens of flavors to choose from. I went with a box of 8, it was about 18 Euros which is very reasonable. My favorites were the Rose and passion fruit. You have to eat them right away or else they get stale. The packaging is beautiful and they make for a perfect gift.

Ladurée was absolutely delicious, and quite a nice relaxing experience. The ambiance is very quiet and peaceful. The service was quick and efficient, and they spaced out everything nicely so we could enjoy our time there. The tea was amazing, I got a nice black tea (lauderee tea I think it was called) and it went perfectly with the dessert. The raspberry tart was arguably one of the best raspberry tarts I've ever had. It tasted so fresh and the flavor was the perfect blend between sweet and sour. The chocolate cake was also fantastic, it was very rich. I would definitely recommend the raspberry tart. Overall, Ladurée makes a perfect spot to go to take a break from shopping in the area. It may seem overrated, but I honestly think it lives up to the name. Give it a try!

Meh. Dining room side of an Older location with servers who couldn't be bothered to get our order correct. Weirdly too sweet coffee with an added weird froth substance. Patisserie side was nice.

What's not to love! Macarons and more macarons. I even love their delicious tea sandwiches from high tea. Or their beautiful cakes with gorgeous glaze. When in Paris! Eat macarons in your body weight. That's my motto! I normally don't eat dessert but I eat them a lot in Paris. Love their marshmallow too. But the macarons Togo in pretty boxes! And to eat them while you walk around Paris; it's a win!

Amazing chain restaurant for macarons! My family and I both dined at the cafe and had some macarons for takeaway as well. We only wanted a snack, and our dining experience was one of the classiest and delicious meals, but definitely expensive in Paris! My dad ordered a chicken sandwich - expensive but neatly cut and honestly one of the best chicken sandwiches ever. We ordered a couple of teas - very delicate and floral. My mom ordered a chocolate cake which she claimed was one of the best she's ever had! I, too, thought it was delicious. It was ultra moist and packed a solid chocolate punch. The interior of the restaurant was beautiful and our waitress was attentive. As for the takeaway part of the restaurant, the staff was plentiful and very helpful. My brother took home a large order of macarons for his friends and they all made it back to the States safely! We got to try some of the flavors and they were the best macarons! All the flavors are tasty, and the texture was perfect - slightly soft but with a subtle crunch. Would love to come back to Paris just for Laduree!

Haven't been to Lauduree in Paris for probably 5 years now. Apparently afternoon tea doesn't exist anymore. But also the service and food quality has taken a slump. The couple of pastries we tried were not flaky and buttery smelling as they were previously. The pastries tasted like something out of a bag for an in-flight meal. The chocolate eclair was dry and hard. The one item we ordered that was the saving grace was the vanilla creme brulee cheesecake. Flavors were delicious without being overly sweet and crust was flaky. The macaroons of course are the same. Not worth the in cafe experience.

I visited both this location and the Champs-D'Élysées one and both are great except the Champs-D'Élysées location is bigger and more popular. I believe this is the first ever location opened in 1862 by Louis-Ernest Ladurée so it is very special! I visited during a period of construction though so that was kinda sad. Opted to wait till I went to the Champs-D'Élysées location to actually taste my first ever Ladurée macaroon.

RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------------- = Expect waits on a weekend afternoon, especially to sit down in the tea room. If you just make a store purchase, it's only about a 10 minute wait ... and you'll be thanking your legs for that. = It's a tourist destination in itself, so expect LOTS of people taking photos of this location. CONCLUSION ----------------------- = Yes, I'm from the tri-state area and they've had a Laduree in NYC since 2011, but there's alwayyyyys something special about going to one of the originals and this spot is no different.

But if you haven't, this is a strong contender for worthy macarons in Paris and at a convenient location across the street from Ladurée. Located inside L'Occitane in the most gorgeous floor space ever, you will find Pierre Hermé at the center of it all. They have an impressive array of flavors that were much more unique than other patisseries. I definitely asked for a few recommendations as well since I tend to order the same thing (pistachio, raspberry, lemon, etc.) The workers were very kind. They indulged my request to converse in French and corrected me in a respectful and endearing way (I know some people get upset at this idea but I personally prefer it.) I had ordered a dozen macarons but truthfully would've ordered the entire lot if I wasn't alone and especially if I wasn't already taking a ton of sweets back for my flight home. I am a Ladurée purist and what I can say is that Pierre Hermé definitely had the best and most unique flavors compared to the two. The prices are fairly comparable and the coffrets are just as tasteful. Both are strong contenders and worthy of your money. I certainly will be returning and look forward to trying the rest of their selection. (15/50--2025)

Pierre Hermé is home to some of the best macarons I've had in my life -- which is probably too many for the good of my health -- and I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the macarons, the staff's attention to detail, and all the unique flavors this shop had to offer. As a popular macaron shop in one of the hottest tourist destinations in Paris, this location is undeniably crowded. There's usually a huge line circling around a central display of macaron after macaron. The line looks pretty intimidating, but it moves quite quickly, and there are so many flavors that it'll probably be helpful to have a bit of extra time to review the menu. My friend and I split a pack of four macarons, including their seasonal isapahan (rose, lychee, raspberry), infiniment praliné pistache, and a jardin de cassandre (red currant, rhubarb). The macarons were delightful. I loved the two seasonal items; they were delightfully fruity and slightly floral, and I loved the slightly tangy flavor from the raspberry in the isapahan and rhubarb / currants in the jardin de cassandre. The praliné pistache was nice and nutty, and the inner cream offered a great additional richness. It's usually super crowded so seating tends to be quite limited. My friend and I ended up taking our macarons to go and enjoyed them elsewhere as we toured Champs Elysée.

Angelina, Paris, France -- April 12…read more Our family of four with kids ages 9 and 10 stopped here for lunch after visiting the Louvre, drawn in by its reputation for having the best hot chocolate in the world. We were looking for a place to relax and refuel, and the experience felt a bit mixed overall. Arrival and First Impressions The space is elegant with classic Parisian charm. The line moved quickly, and we were seated with a great view of the dining room. It felt refined but still comfortable. The Highlights The famous hot chocolate lived up to expectations, thick, rich, and almost more like a dessert than a drink. We also had French onion soup and an éclair, both of which were very good. The pastries were clearly well made and thoughtfully prepared. The kids had chicken tenders, which they enjoyed, even though the tomato sauce was a bit different from what they expected. The Challenges The biggest drawback was the price. The meal felt expensive for what we ordered, coming in at €154 for a fairly simple lunch. Service felt slightly rushed as they moved tables along quickly. Final Thoughts We would likely return if we were nearby and specifically craving the hot chocolate again. It is a classic Paris stop and worth trying once, but the value may not justify going out of your way unless that signature experience is high on your list.

We, of course, ordered the hot chocolate topped with cream. It was incredibly rich, which was the draw. It was required that we each ordered our own teapot, which provided about two and a half cups of hot chocolate. This was a bit excessive, as the drink was heavy and I could only stomach a cup.
