Almond Croissant
Heidi M.

We bought an almond croissant, and some of the breads, which I honestly wasn't entirely impressed with. I was more impressed with the outside of the award winning bakery, which still displayed some of its original artwork from when it first opened. It was explained to us that the shop, by the order of the government, has to preserve the exterior of the shop. It gives the place a lot of character!

Lovely bakery in the heart of Marais. My husband loved their pastries so much he went back in the afternoon. For lunch- we got the vegetable quiche and salad. It was nice and a great part of the neighborhood.

Excellent restaurant Deplorable service manager (I learned from an employee that it was her !!!) allowed me to make a comment on the bathroom door that I left open and made me a scandal in front of all I told her that I thought she was shutting herself up and told her that it was not that kind of way to talk to the customers. This is the worst place I know Paris I have never been treated this way do not go there especially, best worker of France or not it was far from excellent will rather eat elsewhere The manager does not deserve 1 star I assure you

This store houses THE BEST CROISSANTS I HAVE EVER EATEN (and I've tried many in different places around the world)! I was on a mission to find this place after reading a previous Yelp review about this place, raving that this shop had the best croissants in Paris. I was disappointed when I made it all the way here, only to discover the shop didn't have a restroom I could use, but quickly got over it after I returned from using a restroom at another coffee shop and tried the incredible quality of food/drinks at this place! Please be mindful that even though this shop opens early, quiches don't come out until 8 am or later. Some of the sweet pastries also don't come out until later, but you can always rely on fresh baked croissants of various flavors to be offered! The croissants are warm and very fresh, and have an incredible flakiness that is hard to fully capture in words. Once you try it you will understand! I had a mini Nutella croissant, and I'm going to buy more croissants to bring home for my family to try. The servers speak English well, which is also pretty unique for Paris. They were patient and described the various quiche flavors that were baking to me. I was lucky to be able to receive my quiche : smoked salmon and broccoli, straight out of the oven! The flakiness of the quiche crust was also spectacular. Finally, I had the hot chocolate (which was a bit heavy for me, as I normally don't drink this) and fresh squeezed orange juice (which I found to be generous in portion). Highly recommend stopping by this boulangerie/patisserie for top notch pastries and baked goods!

Authentic place in the heart of the Marais small streets. Fantastic people ( super warm and welcoming) Arrive super early if u wanna enjoy the coffee and sun The pistachio Croissant is a MUST ! Same for the classics patisserie, be sure they are in a whole different level than what u housed to have . Parfait !

The setting was so beautiful and it describes exactly how it's named after, like a little Versailles castle. The staff was patient with us as we made our choices (with much difficulty! Everything looked very delicious!!). The strawberry millefeuille was one of the best millefeuille I've ever had -- it was soft and crispy without being too dry, the cream was sweet but not overly so and very generous, the strawberries also tasted very fresh! We got an assortment of other pastries and breads as we debated whether to sit down or continue strolling throughout Paris (to sit down and eat, it will cost you extra).

A beautiful little shop with incredible baked goods. We came here twice during our stay in the neighborhood, and stocked up on pastries to take home. The pistachio almond croissant was buttery, sweet and worth the calories. The brown sugary chocolate chip cookie did the genre proud but was nothing exceptional. For lunch, I was blown away by a simple ham and cheese sandwich on a fresh baguette that I ate at the sidewalk cafe. The perfect Paris experience. My husband gave his country pate sandwich two thumbs up but I would have preferred a firmer pate.

This tartelette aux framboises (raspberry tart) was something else! (Never mind me pretending to be parisienne)

This place is so lovely! It would be worth a visit even without all the delicious food. Add that, and Au Petit Versailles becomes one of the best boulangeries in Paris!

Giant macaroon

As soon as you walk in, you are mesmerized by the beauty of all the baked goods and the buttery smell in the air. Maybe it's because it was the first croissant in the city, but it was probably one of the best :) We couldn't resist and also ended up getting a gigantic macaroon. Angelina, Paris, France -- April 12…read more Our family of four with kids ages 9 and 10 stopped here for lunch after visiting the Louvre, drawn in by its reputation for having the best hot chocolate in the world. We were looking for a place to relax and refuel, and the experience felt a bit mixed overall. Arrival and First Impressions The space is elegant with classic Parisian charm. The line moved quickly, and we were seated with a great view of the dining room. It felt refined but still comfortable. The Highlights The famous hot chocolate lived up to expectations, thick, rich, and almost more like a dessert than a drink. We also had French onion soup and an éclair, both of which were very good. The pastries were clearly well made and thoughtfully prepared. The kids had chicken tenders, which they enjoyed, even though the tomato sauce was a bit different from what they expected. The Challenges The biggest drawback was the price. The meal felt expensive for what we ordered, coming in at €154 for a fairly simple lunch. Service felt slightly rushed as they moved tables along quickly. Final Thoughts We would likely return if we were nearby and specifically craving the hot chocolate again. It is a classic Paris stop and worth trying once, but the value may not justify going out of your way unless that signature experience is high on your list.

So Angelina's fine. For me, it's a bit hyped up. My sister, loved it. She even bought their…read moreprepackaged bottle of hot chocolate to take home. This hot chocolate is decadent. It really tastes like melted chocolate with a bit of milk mixed in to make it more drinkable. We went at a bit of an off time, late morning and it wasn't overly busy. We saw our server once and I couldn't recall who he was when it came time to get the bill. I asked a hostess walking by for our check and she told me to ask our server while walking away. We were able to flag another server down eventually but the whole process just took too long. The tables for four have chairs that don't quite tuck in causing for a bit awkward seating. If you like really thick hot chocolate, give it a try but otherwise ok to miss this one. Plenty of good hot chocolate throughout the city.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more+ THEEEEEE gold standard for macarons in Paris ... or anywhere for that matter. + Macarons here are a little crisp, a little pillowy softness and a whollllllle bunch of flavor. - It cost a pretty penny (about 3 Euros for 1 piece), but you won't regret it for a second when you bite into one of these addictively delicious treats. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + All class, top notch white glove service - literally - they handle the macarons with much care like it were gold! THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ + Located in the heart of the Champs-Élysées on Rue Lincoln, so, YES, it is busy like rush hour outside ... and inside. + There are 2 sides to this massive flagship location - you can either make a purchase of macarons at their store OR dine/sit down in their tea house. Both have lines to wait on, but making a purchase only takes about 10 minutes on a weekend, while dining in looks like an unimaginable wait! + The store to make a macaron purchase at has 3 tables to sit around to enjoy your purchase of delicious macarons. You MUST catch someone about to leave (like we did) in order to snag a table. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------------- = Expect waits on a weekend afternoon, especially to sit down in the tea room. If you just make a store purchase, it's only about a 10 minute wait ... and you'll be thanking your legs for that. = It's a tourist destination in itself, so expect LOTS of people taking photos of this location. CONCLUSION ----------------------- = Yes, I'm from the tri-state area and they've had a Laduree in NYC since 2011, but there's alwayyyyys something special about going to one of the originals and this spot is no different.

I had just finished my time at the Eiffel tower and walked over to this restaurant for a drink and a snack. I was seated immediately, waiting for the rest of my party. The staff were incredibly patient, allowing me to stay for the fifteen-ish minutes it took for my family to arrive. We, of course, ordered the hot chocolate topped with cream. It was incredibly rich, which was the draw. It was required that we each ordered our own teapot, which provided about two and a half cups of hot chocolate. This was a bit excessive, as the drink was heavy and I could only stomach a cup. I did wish the restaurant allowed us to split the pot amongst our table. Nonetheless, I enjoy dining at Carette and returned on my second Paris trip with my husband. Anyone visiting for the first time should try their thick hot chocolate at least once.
