We stopped by after lunch across the street for coffee and dessert because the bakery looked beautiful from the outside. Once inside, the display was impressive, with pastries, macarons, cakes, sandwiches, and breads that all looked tempting. Even though we were already full, we couldn't resist ordering a coffee, a lemon tart, and taking home some macarons. The coffee was good, and the lemon tart was enjoyable. One thing to note is that terrace seating costs more than takeaway, so keep that in mind if you plan to sit outside. Overall, it's a nice stop if you're exploring Le Marais. The location is fantastic, the neighborhood is lively, and it's a great place to take a break and people-watch. Like many places in Le Marais, prices are a bit higher, but you're also paying for the location and atmosphere. I always felt safe walking around the area, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I'd probably stop by again if I were in the neighborhood, but next time I'd try some of the bakery's specialties, especially the croissants, sandwiches, or quiche, which seem to get the best reviews. read more

I was more impressed with the outside of the award winning bakery, which still displayed some of its original artwork from when it first opened. This store houses THE BEST CROISSANTS I HAVE EVER EATEN (and I've tried many in different places around the world)! I was on a mission to find this place after reading a previous Yelp review about this place, raving that this shop had the best croissants in Paris. I was disappointed when I made it all the way here, only to discover the shop didn't have a restroom I could use, but quickly got over it after I returned from using a restroom at another coffee shop and tried the incredible quality of food/drinks at this place! Please be mindful that even though this shop opens early, quiches don't come out until 8 am or later. Some of the sweet pastries also don't come out until later, but you can always rely on fresh baked croissants of various flavors to be offered! The croissants are warm and very fresh, and have an incredible flakiness that is hard to fully capture in words. Once you try it you will understand! I had a mini Nutella croissant, and I'm going to buy more croissants to bring home for my family to try. The servers speak English well, which is also pretty unique for Paris. They were patient and described the various quiche flavors that were baking to me. I was lucky to be able to receive my quiche : smoked salmon and broccoli, straight out of the oven! The flakiness of the quiche crust was also spectacular. Finally, I had the hot chocolate (which was a bit heavy for me, as I normally don't drink this) and fresh squeezed orange juice (which I found to be generous in portion). The food was stale and an older woman, who works in the dining area next door and is presumably the manager, was incredibly rude did not allow us to sit outside despite our having ordered food there. We decided to ignore her petulant behavior. But it turns out there may be good reason for why she asked us to leave - multiple other reviews have stated that they will try to charge you twice as much for sitting there rather than takeaway, but only inform you of the "upcharge" once they give you the final bill. I loved this place! My wife and I spent 8 days in Paris recently. This place was walking distance from where we were staying in Le Marais. On our second day in Paris we to Versailles du Marais and had a croissant, a quiche to share, a cheesy bread stick, and two American coffees. Not only is the boulangerie clean and pretty but the food is outstanding. We made this "our" place. We ended up going there several times during our vacation. One of the super cute and polite guys that worked there knew how we liked our coffee by our 3rd visit. Which, for any American that has visited France knows the coffee is different.
