The aromas tickle your nose, even through the mask. Your mind starts to race and you want one of everything. But, you compose yourself and order a few that you have never tried before. After one bite, you get back in line and grab gift boxes for all of your friends back home. YES!!! They are that good!!! The chocolate, the rose', the pistachio, oh my!

The Location: Metro #1 & 9, Exit "Franklin D. Roosevelt". According to Google, Laduree is one of the BEST bakery for macarons. Got to try it, right? Well.... still overly sweet for me. The texture is good but a little bit pricey. Maybe because of the name? The packaging is cute, definitely good for gift.

This is a must go tourist destination! You have not had a good macaron until you had one from Laduree. Try the salted caramel macaron, it is amazing! They sell novelty items like cute key chains and bags. There is usually a lineup, so have fun waiting in line and admire all the pastries. :) The service is great, and they do not rush you at the time of payment.

Amazing macarons. Wanted to visit Ladurée in Paris after having tried and loved their macarons in New York. The pastries here are even better! Macarons are €2.10 each or €17 for a box of six (it comes in a pretty box, which is why is costs more). I got four macarons: rose, orange blossom, passion fruit, and chocolate. The first three were light, airy, and extremely fragrant. Tasted exactly like the flavors they advertised to be. The last one (chocolate) was sinfully rich and decadent, with several layers inside. Amazing!

Ladurée is a gourmet pastry shop founded in 1862 by Louis Ernest Ladurée. The first location is located on 16 rue Royale. Several locations have been added since, not only in France but worldwide. There's only one location in the US - New York. They are known for their macarons. Apparently they are credited for inventing the double decker macarons. I didn't know anything about this place. I just happened to stop by when our tour guide dropped us off at Printemps to do some shopping. By the way, Printemps is a high-end department store. This location is inside the store. It caught my attention because there was a long line of people waiting to buy their macarons. From a distance it looked more like a fancy cosmetics counter because of their beautiful packaging. I just had to buy some to see what all the hype is about. I bought six different mini macarons. I forget the exact price; they are about €1.75 for mini and about €4 for regular size. My favorites were chocolate and hazelnut. The one many people seemed to get was raspberry. For me the raspberry was a bit too sweet but overall flavor was pretty good. Regardless, they were all soft and airy with a nice chewy filling. Their other pastries looked pretty good but on the pricey side. I definitely recommend stopping by one of their locations when in Paris. Their packages look really nice.

This Laduree location, located inside the Printemps building on Boulevard Haussmann, is a much more favorable location. I vastly preferred my macaron shopping experience here compared to the hustle, bustle, and generally bad attitudes residing in the St. Germain or Champs Elysees locations. This one is rather quiet with capable, smiling help. It carries the same great macaron products available at your Laduree of choice, as well as the additional goodies that work as a take home gift. I still prefer the Pierre Herme macaron to Laduree, but this location deserved the star bump compared to my previous experience (http://www.yelp.com/biz/ladur%C3%A9e-paris-12#hrid:sV_qoWtZy8ucUSRF9p0OKg).

My favorite resaurant in Paris. Although you have to dig deep into your pockets... it's worth the splurge once in awhile. First of all no matter who says what after 5 years of living in Paris Laduree's macarons are the best! My personal favorite is vanilla. Now to this particular restaurant situated in the Printemps department store: They've recently undergone major reconstruction and my compliments to them. A nice ambience for a cup of tea (I recommend the Marie Antoinette mix or if you prefer Asian, then an Ooolong mix) after some shopping, a business lunch or just fancy breakfast. (Although families ARE welcome, please don't bring you prams here. There isn't much space for crying babies...sorry) I cannot say much about the service; the waitresses are arrogant (and I don't mean snobby, they just think they're something better for some reason) but the waiters are some what nicer. The restaurant manager was nice and although our waiter had obviously just been hired, he said sorry everytime he forgot something. I had the Club Champs-Elysees and my friend had one of the salads (i forgot the name but it had duck confit) and we didn't leave one bite left over. Their omlettes are good too, especially with the Laduree fries (not your usual skinny potato fries). For dessert I recommend an 'Ispahan' (larger macaron style dessert with lychees!) or a Millefeuille Fraise (Strawberry Millefeuille - i think they only serve this during summertime) with a café glacé (iced coffee). All in all, it's always a nice experience, just don't expect the waitresses to be nice to you :)

My family decided to spend time in the afternoon here. We had the chance to enjoy Laduree's macarons previously but never their other pastries or beverages. We waited about 5 minutes for our table which was fine. I had the religious verbena strawberry pastry. The strawberry and verbena cream filling was lovely and not too sweet, just nice for the pastry. However, I did feel the pastry was a tad hard and would have liked it a little softer.we also had the Ispahan and the lemon tart and those were excellent - no complaints there. The teas we had were pleasant and each pot poured about 3.5 cups (no tea leaves in pot so no refills). Our bill came to about 58 euros for 4 so it was ok value. I will probably come back in future but just buy their macarons and pastries to go.

I already knew that I wanted to try their macarons; I ordered the matcha, hojicha, and black sesame, while the boyfriend ordered the genmaicha and wasabi. The flavors were outstanding for each one! I was pleasantly surprised at how perfectly the matcha and black sesame flavors especially came through in macaron form. I also ordered a small pot of their yuzu sorbet, which was refreshing and delicious! Again, the yuzu flavor translated very well into sorbet form. My only wish was that the container was bigger... Prices were as expected - 1,80€ per macaron and 3,00€ for the sorbet cup - but as rare unique treats, I felt that they were worth the cost to try! It's also a bit less than the big bakeries such as Laduree. Can't wait until the next time I have the chance to stop by a Sadaharu Aoki to indulge in other new desserts!
