Near the Sacré-Coeur & Place du Tertre sits Biscuiterie de Montmartre. The adorable shop sells, as the name indicates, biscuits, macarons, madeleines, meringue, & confections of that nature. We were greeted warmly by pleasant staff & the gentleman helping us gave samples of small coconut cookies (I believe they were macaroons.) The prominently-displayed madeleines caught my eye, mainly the raspberry filled (2,70 €) with a bit of jam peeking through, as well as the pistachio flavor (2,20 €) with its unmistakeable green hue. The shell-shaped cakes were sweet & spongy, as to be expected, but not markedly special. A passable pick-me-up while we strolled hilly Montmartre, but after one try, I'm not in a rush to return. read more

I was immediately drawn to Biscuiterie de Montmartre when I noticed their Olympics-themed window display that featured miniature statues participating in various sporting events - using cookies as their sporting equipment (the Olympics were right around the corner). Upon stepping inside, the friendly associate behind the counter generously offered us samples of freshly-baked coconut cookies. I decided to purchase a couple of the coconut cookies as well as pistachio madeleines - one of my favorite flavors. Both tasted incredibly fresh. I couldn't resist getting a bag of the almond cookies for the road, and I later discovered that these tasted just like marzipan candy. While located in a touristy shopping area, Biscuiterie de Montmartre felt charming and stood out for their selection of high-quality cookies and sweets that are perfect for gifting. read more

A cute little shop that we came across on our stroll near the Sacré coeur! They had so many different flavors of macaroons and the two that we got were very yummy so you probably can't go wrong with any of them! When I visited Paris, I knew I wanted to go to Laduree but we had a visit to artsy Montmartre. I was pleased to discover the Biscuiterie de Montmartre. It's a small shop with lots of sweets, treats, and macarons. They speak English, though it's polite to ask if they do. They were so nice too! I ordered 12 macarons (Coconut to Raspberry) and bought a small box to hold them in. Macarons are not inexpensive, however, I didn't pay an exorbitant amount like I would at Laduree. I still dream of the soft, perfect texture of these tiny treats. If Paris weren't so far... This is my new Macaron spot when I visit the City of Lights. My son and I were taking a leisurely stroll and couldn't resist stepping in based on the delicious smell wafting from the store. Frankly, I wasn't all that interested in going in because, as I told my son, I tried Laduree macarons in LA - the stuff everyone raved about for the longest time and would queue hours for when it first opened - and thought macarons were way over rated, dry, and generally not all that appetizing. I told him not to expect much. I took back every last word with my first bite of the dark chocolate macaron. SO, SO good. I ended up taking a bite of the five or so macarons he picked out, which, on the first visit, included dark chocolate, raspberry, strawberry, and vanilla. We ended up trying macarons from other spots in Paris but none rivaled the ones we tried here. So we made a trip back to Montmartre to get some boxes as gifts for those back home and also to get a few more for us. We were given a free sample of the chocolate macaroons by the very friendly staff and those were also outstanding. My only regret is not getting a 20 pack for ourselves to take home. read more

I wish I would've taken a local Parisians advice and headed to Laduree, I'm told the macarons there melt in your mouth and instantly take all your troubles away. The service here is absolutely top notch. They also excel in presentation, as you have several options to choose from: Individual macarons at €1.70 each, 6 or 12 macarons between €12-24 each. Strolling through Montmatre, I'm just one man on a mission: Eat ALL the cookies...er...biscuits. I always thought macarons had chocolate filling, but this biscuiterie has shown me how much of a newbie I am to French sweets. After a few euros, I'd left with a half dozen confections in two flavors; earl grey and rose. Rose had the scent of a bouquet, and an even sweeter flavor. My tea-flavored biscuits captured the essence of bergamot, but didn't have the slightest hint of bitterness that makes the blend my favorite tea. But there are restaurants you can eat slowly, have some wine and let it all settle until you hit the next shop. The staff were super friendly and helpful. One spoke great, and the other not-so-much. But I was trying my French out and we had a fun time understanding each other. (The one who spoke English very well was around if we needed her) They were patient as we tried to decide which of the beautiful macarons we would take home. It's a good problem to have when they all look amazing. Tip: Ask the staff what their favorite is! We did and got two very different answers. The one girl didn't like the other one's favorite, but that's just having different taste...so we got both and then a few we knew we wanted. Macarons here are amazing, slightly crisp on the outside with airy texture in the middle Tried the pistachio, caramel, raspberry, and blueberry flavors and all were fantastic. It's located near Basilique du Sacré-Cœur church (Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Paris) in the hills with all the cool shops and artists selling their original work. This store is located at the foot of the Sacre Ceour at the heart of the hip, heavily-visited Montmartre district. Very cute little shop with a dazzling variety of macaroons (maybe 20 flavors?) and other small cookies. The macaroons are ordered by the number and the other cookies by weight, if I am correct. The staff was quite friendly and excused me for giving up the ordering in French (I knew I was just butchering it- all of the flavors I'd never seen nor heard pronounced). 18Euros for a box of 12 macaroons Overall, I thought they were tasty little treats, but I would recommend going with a smaller order. They are 24 hour goodies (as most macaroons are, sure) and lose their appeal after a day. I'd say this is a 'must-stop' on your walk to Sacre-Coeur, just to grab a few and snack on your walk around the area, or for an after dinner sweet (they're open until 10 or 11pm). Also- a shout out to the menu that comes with your macaroons, with pictures of each cookie alongside the flavor (and, inherent in that, a shout out to making each flavor look distinct so you can tell them apart later when you've forgotten what you chose). read more

i never liked any macaroons from the States, but fell in love with the ones from Montmartre. The store is just a wonderfully pastel colorful space that you wouldn't mind wasting a lazy afternoon in. I was in Montmartre for a few hours playing tourist, and I was looking for a place to buy some sweets to take home for the family. I found this place with reasonable reviews on Google Maps, so I walked over to check it out. I'm glad that I did! They have lots of freshly made items available for purchase - macarons, chocolates, small biscuits, and so on. You can buy items either à la carte or in premade boxes. I picked up a small box of six nut-based biscuits for €6.50, which is a far better price than a lot of other bakeries in the area. They were a hit with my family - they're delicious! The lady working in the shop that day was very helpful and helped me pick the right item to buy. I'll definitely stop by again next time I'm visiting Montmartre. read more

Oh my. These biscuits are so good that I would pay the arm and a leg it probably costs to ship an order to the US.
