Luxurious, quality products and friendly staff! Beautiful presentation. Product would make excellent gifts. Try before you buy at the water table. I wasn't planning on buying the foaming shower gel, but was sold when I washed my hands with it! Lovely fragrances are not too overpowering. Store has a nature-focused decor theme, which fits well with the products

Love coming to this place, love their body scrubs, candles and their service. Denise, the makeup artist, she do such a good work with make up, is amazing.

This was my original reply from Rituals saying I could exchange the item

I surprised the Mrs. on Valentine's Day and we had a scent-sational time here. It's set-up 'buffet style' - starting at one end of the room and you slowly make your way down a wall with an absurd amount of options for what catches your nose, then a section with various options (sizes/styles) for the container to house your eventual candle. Back to the 'bar' to start working on your candle (with the help of the amazing staff) and before you know it... you're done. (Well, you have to come back at a later time to get the finished product.) The 'activity' was slated for one full hour but within 30 minutes almost everyone was done and left. (We were the only couple imbibing - so we were there pretty close to the full 60 minutes.) I can't say enough good things about the crew behind the counter - ebullient to the nth degree. The shop looks amazing, the candle (I got to pick it up a week later) is great and most importantly: I got brownie points with the Mrs. for the unique and memorable experience. A bit on the pricy side but wick-ed fun, for sure. (If you know Montclair and this area specifically... parking can be a challenge.)

Stumbled in here during one of the coldest days of the year, primarily just to warm up. Anyway, since then I've been back 3 more times; once for breakfast and twice for brunch. And while I'm confessing, the two times for lunch were on subsequent days. Yeah, they're that good. Actually, their chicken salad on a croissant is the best I've ever had and in my advanced years I've had a crapload of chicken salad. The have a nice sized coffee bar, decorated beautifully with some pretty delicious looking pastries. I'm on an anti-sweet phase so I'm basing my opinion on only on appearance. Then there's a seating area when you can eat, served by a friendly attentive staff and an adjacent boutique area where you can purchase housewares, clothing and other cool stuff. I'm not in Maplewood all that often, generally when I'm shopping at the equally awesome City Workshop but when I do, I always make sure to hit up Perch. You should too. 1/2 star deduction because they don't offer fake sugar, just that Stevia crap which is gross.
