I have to give a shoutout to the folks at rite aid for serving Thrifty Ice Cream with the scoops I remember from my childhood and with an extensive list of ice cream flavors to choose from. When I go in (at least once a week), I am immediately identified by the cashier who then communicates over the loud speaker for one of his or her co workers to head to the ice cream section where I am immediately served. The chocolate malted crunch and the rocky road are just as I remember it as a kid growing up when the store was actually named thrifty. Since alot of RiteAids have closed in the OC. I have no choice but to go to this one. I love the ice cream. Lately I go in and the ice cream counter looks abandoned. 5 flavors when they usually have 20 or more. No cones, no napkins. Ever. The parking lot stinks with standing water in the flower beds. CVS is the way to go. Unless you want ice cream. If you want a headache picking up or returning something then shop at rite aid. I step into the store and I ask the front cashier if I can return it here or at the pharmacy. She points and said pharmacy. The pharmacy said she could not return the pain patches because she doesn't know how I stored them, "if I stored it in direct sun or stored it in the freezer she couldn't take them back" ($32.00). It only has been 4 days and on the receipt it says 90 days. Make it make sense. Then she says return it in front cashier. I go and it declined the return because it needed a pin. ( It's a health benefit co card it doesn't have a Pin) who cares if I change pharmacy right? On Top of it all the wait is super long and the store is empty so why the long wait ? I have the time to call corporate and file a complaint against the Pharmcy who clearly was having a bad day and rubbed it on me so now I have a bad day ! Where can I begin, so lets go with the cons. Super busy intersection with a bus stop in front of the entrance and on top of it all. All kinds of people walking around as families with kids to a transients taking a nap in the entrance, like an alley cat with no worries. A tight crusty parking but it is for free and considering it is in downtown now that is a deal. The inside of the store is really packed with everything. I mean from frozen goods to ice cream and to your local pharmacy. I actually just mention some of the perks because if you lost your walker then this is it. So my review is based on the pharmacy department. Take into consideration that it is a really busy store and knowing that I come to pick-up my parents meds. I always go in with no real rush. Nice pharmacy staff I have not had a problem. Except the pixie glass it can be annoying I can not hear nothing. Maybe it's me just going deaf I dunno or the mask. However the staff is professional. Mask are still very much enforced due to the zipcode area having the highest covid-19 cases. So if you come in from the coast cities then consider yourself forewarned. read more

This Rite Aid is located at a major intersection in downtown off of Main and First st. and the parking lot is clean but there are some transients that pass through. The inside is clean, organized and easy to move through. I frequent this location because of the Amazon pick-up locker and each time I pick up a package I get a coupon for $5 off a $10 purchase. Everyone from the security guard to the cashiers are always friendly and say hello. The pharmacy staff are also very polite here. If you use Amazon locker services I'd suggest picking up a package here since it's easy to get into and out of here and it's never really busy. read more

I come here at least once a week and really feel like the staff goes above and beyond. I feel so bad for customer service people nowadays. They have to deal with so many entitled and rude customers but this staff always maintain their grace. Be aware with this store if your buying gift cards. I bought 2 gifts cards for my nieces bdays and they were completely drained out by the time they got to used them. I think it's an inside job with the employees. I went back to tell the Manager Cesar and he can't do anything. First they refused to fill a prescription and then they did not bill insurance correctly, telling me I would have to wait an additional thirty minutes because their pharmacist was on break, only to fill it with the wrong thing in the end. Their staff is completely out of line and unprofessional. I have never been verbally harassed or treated so poorly by their employees for forgetting to wear my mask I left at home. At 3:30pm January 1. Janet in the pharmacy was probably the most inept attendant that I have ever dealt with. She was lazy and inattentive. I explained to her that I needed a prescription transferred to her store as I needed the meds now and her other location closed. She neglected to do it and said to get a new prescription. I told her other proficient rite aide representatives have called and transferred the prescription. Mind you these are materials I need to live. After me reminding her how to do her job. She supposedly called and said she didn't have them in stock but she transferred the prescription. And she would order it. I'm not one to call ppl out but it was evident she didn't want to her job or she was mentally inept. Rite aide has declined substantially as I have been with them since I became a diabetic over 20yrs. Janet's ignorants has confirmed this to me. After a late night at Lola or Memphis or both, and crashing on a pretty comfortable couch, you wake up and there's no more Diet Coke, booze, or cigarettes. What's a girl to do? Walk across the street and stock up. Rite Aid is rad, they have everything from nail glue to Jager [on sale sometimes!], and of course ice cream for those really hot days/fat kid moments. This Rite Aid is conveniently located. I see Rocky Road Ice Cream in my future & it certainly beats spending $5. ₩₩ to go to a Baskin Robbins @ Mainplace. Their cashiers are friendly & welcoming when you first walk through the front door. The only thing lacking is MORE EMPLOYEES, the lines can be long, especially if there's only one cashier & there's also a line for ice cream & the one person is having to run between both areas. THIS IS THE FAULT OF THE STORE MANAGER & upper management. I HAD been using the pharmacy. I have the same medications every single month that need to be filled although there is one DRUG they don't carry, they order it ONLY WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR PRESCRIPTION IN, even when taking mine in early before I NEEDED my medication ,they ordered it so 3 days later it was suppose to be in, I went to pick up my RX & WAS informed that the delivery didn't include what they ordered!! No call to apologize, was told they re-ordered &it'll be here in 3 more days!! I needed it THAT DAY I WENT TO PICK IT UP. I was told YOU NEED TO BRING YOUR PRESCRIPTION IN AHEAD OF TIME - DUH.....that's what I did! So, went across the street with NO PROBLEM getting it filled. If this is how you run your pharmacy you'll loose customers - There is NO REASON NOT TO CARRY "X" amount of narcotics, they don't expire in one weeks time. If theft is your concern your doors should be secure At all times (today one of the guys working in pharmacy left to help a customer and left BOTH OF THE DOORS TO THE PHARMACY OPEN!! Super convenient considering I work pretty much right next door to it. Almost always has what I need, and the ice cream obviously is delicious! ...but the one thing I have to complain about is the pharmacy. Seriously, if I'm going to a Rite Aid pharmacy, I would expect to be helped and not feel rushed out of the building! Literally every time I come here, the pharmacist I speak to acts like he/she doesn't have enough time for me, rushes me through talking about my medical concerns, and seems to give me whatever Rite Aid-branded medicine they can think of in less than 15 seconds. Horrible experience. I came in to shop but first needed a restroom I saw it was locked cashier said go to pharmacist. The pharmacist sent me back to cashier. She told me to get a key to the bathroom I had to buy something first. I told her I was in pain and could I please use restroom first I plan on shopping I'll leave my credit card. She said I don't want your credit card you need to purchase. In front of all the customers I told her please I'm in pain I need to go right away I saw the line it was so long. So I grabbed a drink closest to me stood in line in pain. When I got to front I told her I can't believe you won't let a 65 year old man use the restroom before I shop you should learn sometimes you need to make exceptions to rules. She said people tell her stories all the time and continued not to help. It was humiliating to beg for a restroom key in front of all the customers.
