I will first be honest with myself about spending my time middle of the day reviewing this soon to be closed business, I can admit not the most productive use of time but I felt a little irked a bit ago by the customer service in this location. This is such a moot point I'm aware , but if you're seeing this , I just wanted to converse with myself about this incident I guess lol. While in the store, the two employees I encountered were initially first very very nice, I am a bit of an off color being unintentionally , doesn't bother me any but some can feel off-put by my unusual but completely harmless mannerisms. Just so happens I am a neurodivergent person, on the spectrum, not a thing I think of every time inside a drugstore. Anyway, around the end of my visit, I was putting my telephone inside my little backpack purse with a couple items clearly in my other hand, and one employee was rather close when this happened. I didn't even really notice until I ended up fumbling and dropping my phone because the opening to my purse was very small. It was clipped shut at the time. Immediately this woman looks at me with a suspicious look, and soon after I hear them call on overhead security to the floor. I've worked retail for years and currently hold a managerial position in the field, I know as well as everyone else in retail that little trick. Whatever, I'm slightly erratic in my movements at times, they think I'm stealing I'm not and have never been the one, I can roll my eyes and get over it. But it seriously irked me when I get up to the register to pay for my items I did not even really need and cashier is incredibly condescending and rudely asking me about every f$;&ing dept. I visited / asked her where item was like so... no razors? Did you pass on those eyelashes? LIKE YES THE F I DID LADY , WATCH YOUR CAMERA OPEN YOUR EYES BE HUMBLE AND TAKE YOUR FAILURE WITH SOME GRACE. It really gets me when people are so confident in there absolutely wrong assumption. This is my first time visit. The shelves are mostly empties and there are lots of discounted tabs everywhere. I found some goodies that are Buy 1 Get 1 free. There are tabs listed beneath each item at the GNC session. The cashier said the gummies I got were not on sale. The women went to the session and claimed that the products were misplaced. I wish I took a picture to prove. The women claimed that she needed her manager to remove the item. She called and called, ending up the manager was outside looking at her cell phone. Mann... So, I hate to do this, the pharmacy manger was very nice. But obviously overworked. I went in for my first Covid vaccine. I have thought about this, gone back-and-forth about this and finally decided to get the vaccine. I have some health issues and finally decided to do it. So I make the appointment, I get brave enough to go in and she is there by herself running the pharmacy and giving vaccines. I go and get the vaccine within 30 seconds she hands me my paperwork and I walk out the door. Apparently I'm supposed to hang out for 15 minutes to make sure there's no reaction. I did have a dizzy spell and had to pull over right out of the parking lot. Please do not over work your people. Mistakes can be made and sometimes they're not reversible when we are talking about a pharmacy. read more

This was the first time I had used this store pharmacy. The dentist called in the script, and it was ready when I got there. The two people I interacted with were very courteous and knowledgeable. I had a relaxed vibe when I was in the store. I finally figured out why I felt like browsing through the store (even though I was in pain). It was all about the lighting. They didn't have those interrogations blinding doctors' office-type fluorescents It was more of a subdued effect. I could appreciate that. read more

Pharmacist was horribly rude today while filling my prescription. This is the second (and last) time I have been treated awfully while filling an anti -anxiety medication. I've been treated like I'm an addict or something. Today I was told - it would take "many days" to get my prescription because it needed to be verified. It was called in earlier directly by my dr. When I asked how will I know when it's ready I was told to call my doctor to ask. It made no sense. I left feeling glad I didn't immediately need the medication but worried for others who might need their medicine and are treated this way. I'll go to CVS next time for sure. read more

I can attest to the wonderful best of this Rite aid store and pharmacy. I drive 9 miles to this Rite aid though they do send medications when I can't get there for them... I go here because, of the extraordenary service and products. And knowledge of everyone. The pharmacy staff are genuinely Outstanding! From Tony the head pharmacist and each person on staff. They are veryyy knowledgeable about wellness wkthout question! Kayla n Jackson are sooo amazingly helpful and smart. Vicki the manager of this store is as well beyond outstanding. One can find medications, products, children's needs etc, that are difficult to find in other stores and their prices are in some cases less expensive then Walmart. I came in at 1pm trying to get ice cream, there was only one other person in front of me. I told the cashier that I was on the clock with my job, and that if they were unable to do it quick that was completely fine and I would come back. they said that was ok, I payed and went over to the stand, i told him I was in a rush, he Said that was fine, and then he proceeded to go the opposite direction to start talking to another employee.. I got a notice from my work that I had to go somewhere, so I attempted to get his attention and he ignored me. Up until before Covid, they always gave full scoops of their excellent ice cream. In the past year, they have been getting stingier and stingier to the point now where it seems like the scoops are almost half of what they used to be. My boyfriend waited 3 1/2 hours for my prescriptions to be ready. Keep in mind, my doctor had called these in 1 1/2 hours before he even came to pick them up. They gave him major attitude while he was there, but he finally got the prescriptions and left. These meds were for a surgery I was SUPPOSED to have today. Due to a heart condition, I needed to be awake during the surgery, so getting these medications was **very** important so I had minimal anxiety and minimal pain. When I get to the doctor's this morning, turns out Rite Aid has given me the wrong dosage. I still wanted the doctor to try to begin the surgery because, this being my first surgery, I didn't know how bad the pain and anxiety would be. Well because Rite Aid gave me the wrong dosage, the meds wore off nearly immediately and I almost passed out, my blood pressure dropped dangerously low, and I had to be hooked up to an oxygen mask. It took me 45min to stabilize. No surgery happened, obviously, and a traumatizing experience. When we called Rite Aid to ask what happened, we were told they MISREAD and we received a weak apology. This is medical negligence and you'd better believe I will be taking action. Please, for the safety of yourself and your family, DO NOT GO HERE. read more

I was quite disturbed, disproportionately, when I came in here before. The service is shocking and I think bullying and harassment are more excused than small-town drugstores are given credit for. Additionally, it doesn't help at all when the customer service is poor and the pharmacists & most other staff have a personality that doesn't reflect the relationship between customers and first world service. Just from reading these reviews (already marked on this page), the pharmacy doesn't really have, yet worse, resists incentive to improve on the emotional intelligence reflecting upon 97% of the staff's conduct. Whilst overcompensating professionalism with a self-reflecting attitude are I consider what they must work on. Their outward appearance reflects in on character flaws. Eg. power tripping, gas lighting, displaying lacking in empathy, deliberately assuming the worst out of customers in-interaction, resisting the natural flow & dynamic in interaction, are all examples of their destructive input to cease the store from functioning with basic sufficiency. read more

I received a $35 Western Union Money order for payment for an item I sold on Ebay. I saw a Western Union Sign in the window of the Rite Aid store on Broadway in Placerville CA. I walked in looked around and decided that waiting in the checkout line was the only option. After waiting a few minutes I simply asked about cashing my money order and was informed; "we don't cash Western Union Money orders". I then asked; why is there a Western Union sign in your window? The staff simply stated; "we only sell Western Union Money Orders, we do not cash them". Ok, I read that statement as we don't care about your business or time. Bottom line, I will never set foot in another Rite Aid. There are so many other better options, Amazon, Target, Walmart, to name a few. read more

New tradition after a trip out of Tahoe. Pass by Rite Aid for that tasty trip down memory lane. Thrifty's ICE CREAM! Oh my goodness. In the early 90's before the times of endless Asian stores and Mercados there was a little Pharmacy chain called Thrifty's. When one was in need of some lotion, tylenol or a peechy folder this individual could travel by foot to this neighborhood convenience store. Well along with friendly service there was a child's most favorite part of visiting... the ice cream. Strawberry, Pina Colada, chocolate malted crunch, rocky road, butter pecan, pralines and cream, wonderful yummy flavors stacked in your cone or cup in the shape of the coolest cylinder. And back in the day, the price of one of these scoops was just 39cents. Now the price is 99 cents a scoop, STILL A DEAL, but now you have other flavors to choose from such as carrot cake. The ladies here are very sweet, asking us how the trip was as we march in with our clunky snow boots and pants. Genuine, honest business...and a small amount to pay for nostalgic yumminess! read more

Dropped my RX off THREE weeks ago. It had two medicines on the rx and I only needed one immediately and the other wouldn't be needed until the 19th. I told them I would pick up in the 19th and called to make sure it was ready. Not only was it NOT ready. They don't even have it and won't have it until Wednesday. Sorry WHAT?!?! The pharmacist proceeded to let me know that the other medication I take should be just fine and I guess she's my new MD too. Unbelievable.
