Very convenient CVS location at stateline - right between Harrah's, Bally's, and across the street from Golden Nugget. Stopped in to get a couple of beverages, CVS prices are a lot more affordable than the local hotels, and the selection was vast. Great pricing, convenient kiosk self-checkout (in addition to staffed registers), and this is located in a safe area of town. I'll definitely be back at CVS during our stay in Margaritaville on the California side of State line - even from the California side, this CVS is within walking distance. read more

If staying at the casinos in Lake Tahoe, this is a great place to get supplies, snacks, and alcohol. It is open 24 hours a day, and has many different rooms inside. It has everything that a typical drugstore would have, and their selection is large. The prices seem in-line (not too much more just because it is in a tourist area). If you need gloves or knit hats, they have a large selection. It also has a large souvenir section, for very reasonable prices. It is a free-standing CVS, so unlike the ones in a Target, this one will accept all CVS related discounts and coupons. read more

Grabbed a coffee for the morning - came in late late. Quick experience and very convenient. I was in the mountain tower next door so I didn't get an in room coffee maker - and the Starbucks is at the bottom of the Lake tower - in the AM I thought it would be good to have a little something just in case. Check out was quick. They only seemed to have self check out available. Not sure how one would buy alcohol - but for me wasn't an issue. Clean store. Well taken care of and stocked with lots of different items. Food, clothing - anything you would need to be comfortable. Don't worry too much about what you forgot to pack. read more

I went to this CVS to get a snack and cash back. I have done this many times at this location. There are signs up that say no cash back. When I asked they said we will go get the mananger. Several minutes later Armando the manager comes out has a terrible attitude. I asked about the cash back he says "I am the man". Whatever that means. My atm card was not being read in the reader, it kept telling me to insert my card. As I am trying to adjust my card this Armando scolds me rudely and says "just stop messing with the card". I try to explain that it's not working. He says "just stop messing with the cars!" Yells at me. Now I am getting pissed. I finally get my card to work and the screen never prompts me for the cash back. I look at him and I say "where is the cash back option?" He says you hit the wrong button!!! Like it's my fault, like he had no duty to step me through the process, knowing I had waited 10 minutes for cash back!! His name is Armando. He is rude, arrogant and a horrible representative for the company. I will not go back. read more

The best customer service at CVS I've ever had. Had a fun weekend celebration getaway and we stopped here a few times to supply the experience. You know just the typical weekend needs; Tums, Pepcid, pocket vibrator, gum, water. Anyways my bf realized the new gadget needed just one AA battery and sure enough the clerk rushed to our rescue and handed us what we needed and we went off of our merry way!! We wanted to stock up on some water versus paying through the nose for it at our casino resort so stopped by this CVS, which was conveniently located just down the street. We were staying in a hotel up the street and I felt some post-nasal drip so we popped in for some over-the-counter medicine. If this location has a pharmacist, I don't think I saw one. It was a lot of food items, personal items, etc. but I was curious that I didn't see an actual pharmacist. I grabbed my medicine but did not have my CVS card on me since I was on vacation. Despite all the careful planning, the missus forgot to pack the charger and cable for her iPhone 4s. So here we are in Stateline and the nearest likely places (Office Depot/OfficeMax, Walgreens, Home Depot) are back down the hill in Carson City and Gardnerville. On a whim we wandered into CVS pretty certain our luck would be as good as mine was at the Spin Poker machines (let's just say Nevada is richer). And there they were: a USB to 30-pin iPhone cable and a matching charging cube. For less than an Andrew Jackson we were ready to feed her starving iPhone and as icing on the cake the cashier happily cut open that pilfer-preventing packaging that has sent people to the emergency room bleeding profusely. Back at the hotel we cleared the final hurdle when we plugged everything in and the phone began sucking up those volts and amps without the dreaded "This accessory is not designed for your iPhone" warning. It was a long shot but it paid off. UPDATE: Given the odd lack of hotel room electrical outlets in this rechargeable battery-powered digital epoch, we went back for a power strip and 3-prong extension cord. No more charging the phones in the bathroom or on the floor. And MUCH cheaper than if we had found them at all in a hotel gift shop or sundries shop. read more

My cousin got accused of stealing and after being forced to empty her entire bag and pockets and proving to the idiots working right now that she stole nothing the old bat refused to apologize for accusing her of theft and told her never to come back. Seriously this place has fucking idiots working. The only nice person was some young guy with shaggy hair who apologized and explained nicely what it looked like on the cameras, at least they have one person working with courtesy. The two women "working" tonight are absolutely worthless. Everyone has to do self check out and the pin pad doesn't work. Worker said "you have to insert the card three times and then slide." When asked why they don't ring things up at the registers one of the employees said "we are ringing you up, this is the 21st century and this is going to happen in California too." Uncalled for and completely rude and no help at all. If you don't want to work at cvs, look for a different job. Customers are lined up down the hallway while but it's too much of an inconvenience to ring people up to make things quicker. I was made aware of the situation when my friends (A) and (B) came to me to ask me to go with them to the CVS. (A) said he had been eighty-sixed and he did not know why. He said that he had walked into the store to purchase bubble bath, however he was unaware of where the bubble bath was. He reached out to the supervisor on duty who was at the counter to ask her where the bubble bath was, however he referred to is as bath foam. The supervisor said they did not have that and my friend said that his friend had purchased this the other day and she told him to go and find it. He face-timed his friend who directed him (in Spanish) how to get to the area where she had previously purchased the bubble bath. At the time my two friends had been separated, (B) (who is from Argentina and has a lighter complexion and had not said anything - thus appearing to be American) was allowed to purchased a bottle of vodka from the cashier. When (A) had finally found the foam the supervisor came up to him and ripped a juice bottle out of his hand (that he was holding so that he might be able to pay for it after locating the bubble bath) and told him to get out of the store. He continued to ask why but was told to get out or she would call the cops and have him arrested and deported back to where he came from. As my friends left the store she called them "f***ing tourists" and told them not to come back. My friend did not understand why he had been eighty-sixed but we work for a company where we are aware of trespassing and trespassing laws in the state of Nevada. I entered the store with both of my friends the second time to purchase the bubble bath after being informed of the previous encounter. The supervisor, Anne, came right into the store aggressively and told my friend (A) to get out. She said he had been told twice to get out and he needed to leave the store. He said he did not know what was going on and why he was being kicked out. She told him he was being "insubordinate" and he asked why and she continued to repeat herself. I asked her what was going on and that I just wanted to know why he was being eighty-sixed from the property. She said that was between herself and my friend. She then turned back to (A) and told him to get out or she would call the police and have him deported (my friend is from Peru and has a darker complexion and an accent, as Spanish is his first language.) this is when I began to get upset with Anne. I replied with "Deported to where?" and she was silent. I asked (A) to leave the store because I did not want her to get the police involved and cause him further frustration. He left the store. I continued to ask her what was going on and she replied with "I am the supervisor. I can eighty-six whoever I want and that information is between him and I. And in fact you can get out too. You've also been eighty-sixed." She aggressively told me I was more than welcome to call the manager so I told her that I would and I asked for her name as her name-tag was blocked by her hair. She replied with, "it's right there sweetie," and passive aggressively moved her hair so that I could see her name tag. I then left the store. She allowed (B) to go back in and purchase the bubble bath because he, "had a nice demeanor." Not only was this poor customer service, this was blatant racism.We work in the customer service industry and are very familiar with Nevada state laws and the rights one has to refuse service. This experience was poor from the beginning, whereas my friend was denied help and refused service and asked to leave property with no reason provided. "Insubordination" is not an explanation to someone who wants to know why they were kicked out of a store nor is it applicable to this situation. The very definition of insubordinate is "disobedient to authority", which Anne does not have over any patron of the store. Threatening to deport my friend is absolutely unacceptable; regardless of how she felt about him and his "insubordination" or regardless of the fact that he had been eighty-sixed in no way can you threaten to deport someone. Furthermore, to assume that because of someone's accent or complexion that they do not belong in this country and in fact have somewhere to be deported to - falls within the very definition of racism.I am aware that my friend is from Peru. Anne was not. She had no reason to make that assumption other than her own prejudice worldview. I am aware of her right to inform someone that had been eighty-sixed from the store that she is entitled to call the police because CVS is private property; but under no circumstance is she allowed to threaten to deport someone.I expect more from a corporate company that preaches diversity and equality. Anne should be ashamed of herself. And anyone that continues to employ someone that racially profiles should carry that same shame. read more

Parked across the street at the hotel(?), then walked across the cross walk. I came in couponing to get a deal on m&m's that the other CVS up the street at the Bijou center did not have in stock, but this one did! AND this location seems so much smaller than the other one, and it had ALL their stock out :)...versus the Bijou center CVS was a mess with boxes everywhere and merchandise not fully put out :\ . Furthermore, this location has self-serve registers!! I've never seen these before at any CVS so cool! The girl was super friendly and wasn't sure how to ring up the sale, and the manager training her was so nice and patient showing her how to do it. They even printed out a higher amount of the extra care reward than it should have, and the girl apologized for my wait. Great customer service got my 5 stars. read more

I had a terrible experience today at this CVS. They can pull the cameras and see the exact conversation if they want but someone needs to know how RUDE cashier Eric was. Here is the exact conversation: Me: hey how are you tonight? Eric: doesn't even respond to that. Rings my stuff up and I let him know I had a CVS card (instead of him asking me) and told me to put the number in. I said "hey is there anyway you can change me $4 in quarters?" He got a terrible attitude and said "no." Which I was ok with and then followed it by "NO WAY!" a little louder, which I felt was unnecessary. Perplexed by the attitude, I said "NO WAY huh?" And he said "That means no." I said "look, there is no reason for you to have an attitude right now, I was just asking a question." He didn't respond, he looked back at another employee who was sitting behind him and was telling her something. I asked him what his name was when he left, he was reluctant to tell me but realized it would be on the receipt. Then asked me why I wanted to know and I said "I was just wondering." And walked out. He proceeded to talk to the girl behind him about me having a problem. I wasn't upset that he couldn't give me change. I get it. But it was the crappiest attitude for no reason. I have NEVER been anywhere in my life and been treated that way by a cashier. read more

Ann, has typically been there during the evenings/mornings and she is the most helpful person I have ever interacted with a store (grocery, apparel, shoe). She goes above and beyond to help you locate the item(s) needed/desired. Instead of simply telling you the general location of the item, she will walk with you to the location of item and present you with the selection. If the item you're seeking is not in stock, she will look in the back and/or present you with the alternatives. With that said, occasionally the alternative items are better/more fitting than the items you were seeking in the first place. On top of that, she is very protective of the merchandise and guests in the the store. I typically stop by there after I get off work around 3:00-4:00 am and I have seen her professional interactions with highly intoxicated customers bothering the legitimate guests. read more

This CVS is located in the casino corridor. It has a lot of stuff for the visitors to the lake. Actually a pretty extensive inventory. The only thing they don't have is a pharmacy. They have over the counter drugs and everything else you would ever need. Too bad they don't have a pharmacy. For us locals who live in NV it would be great. I'm a little surprised by the great reviews here. The store was pretty nice and clean, but the cashier and the only employee we noticed immediately was not friendly. Fortunately another person that appeared to be a manager helped tremendously, letting us know where the items we needed were. Options were a little slim for basic clothing items, but that's to be expected for a drug store. I'm glad they stocked stuff like tank tops and socks, the sizes and options were just pretty picked over. It was really nice to have CVS as an option for much needed items. read more

This CVS is located right across the street from Harvey's Casino. Location is easy to get to if you need to grab any last minute toiletries, over the counter meds, or drinks and snacks. There's even a small section in the back for beach accessories and gifts to take back home. I couldn't see if they have a pharmacy at this location but they have a wide selection of items if you need something or just want to browse (like us). Will definitely come back since it's open 24/7. read more

I actually went here twice during my week long stay in South Lake Tahoe. The first time I took a gander at their decent selection of local and imported beers (yes, I got one), and wandered around the rest of the store. They have a lot more stuff in this CVS and I attribute this to the tourism that the lake area attracts. The staff members were quite helpful as well as funny. I don't remember a lot from the second visit only that I think I might have been driving the two cashiers completely insane. Nevertheless, they were quite nice and forgiving because my wife and I were merely visiting and I sometimes forget how to act when on vacation. Good times indeed. read more
