Terrible service! I went to get a prescription asthma inhaler after I had my doctor send the generic version instead of the name brand of Breo. The pharmacist told me with complete confidence that a generic version of Breo doesn't exist. After a quick Google search, I found out that this is not true and there is indeed a generic version available elsewhere for cheaper. I don't appreciate the pharmacist lying to me about it not existing at all. To say you don't have it available is one thing- but to lie and say it doesn't exist on the drug market anywhere is so dumb. I only have one experience with this pharmacy, but unfortunately it seems to be consistent with other reviewers. I had a pretty common prescription sent in before they opened one day. I called about the middle of the day to check on it and was told that their computers were down. I called a couple more times that day and no one answered. The next day I stopped by in the late afternoon and was told it wasn't filled, with no indication of when it would be, if at all. I guess I have a different idea of what a pharmacy's responsibility is to a patient than the pharmacy itself. read more

BY FAR,The WORST place to get your Prescriptions. They ignore calls, Distegard Drs orders, always say they are swamped, even with nobody in line. You see them standing around, talking and giggling while putting their phone ringer OFF. DO NOT go here, ever. There is not a good time to go, its almost like you need a secret password to get good service. They ring you up on incorrect insurances, ignore PreAuthorizations by your Dr and even IGNORE Drs orders and calls. They treat you like Dirt and you need toCONSTANTLY on them to do their job.. Safeway Pharmacy - Nobody in line, yet hear them cracking jokes instead of taking care of patients - Pharmacy Near Me - Zephyr Cove, Nevada

Oh my gosh I can't believe I wrote a positive review for this pharmacy. 1) They do not answer the phones when they are busy. 2) They "lose" prescriptions. 3) The pharmacists and staff and friendly and capable, they are just consistently UNDERSTAFFED. Safeway has received multiple complaints about this but does nothing. 4) All of the above was true before Covid. It's just worse, now. Unfortunately, if you live in NV and need a controlled substance, you cannot get the prescription in CA, so this is the ONLY pharmacy you can use unless you want to go over the hill. (It was kind of weird during the evacuation so if this has changed, please someone let me know below.) read more

Pharmacy at this location doesn't seem to be a available to help fill a med that was transferred from another Safeway pharmacy. I don't know why so I had to stretched the meds that I had with me and was short a few days. Safeway pharmacy overall tend to have a long wait to get the meds filled when the super market is busy which I assume shoppers try to get both their groceries and meds on the same visit. However, the kill two birds with one stone concept is lost due to the slow long lines at both ends later in the day. read more

TLDR: this pharmacy is UNRELIABLE because they don't answer their phone, and your call gets directed to a full voicemail box. This sucks if you urgently need a medication, and you are calling to find out if it is in stock. Edit: I just noticed that another reviewer wrote the following, "THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE AND THEY NEVER CALL BACK IF YOU LEAVE MESSAGES". I wish that I would have seen her review earlier today, because I wouldn't have wasted my time with this clown show, and I probably would have been able to find another pharmacy that could fill my Rx. Additional Details: I needed a numbing cream that was prescribed by my dermatologist prior to an expensive appointment involving laser dermatology. My dermatologist sent the prescription just one day before my 9:45AM appointment. I was concerned that the pharmacy might not have the medication in stock, so I called them several times during the day, while I was at work, to find out whether they had the medication that I needed. Every time I called, there was no answer of the phone, and it directed me to a full voicemail box. When I finally got off work, at 5:30, I went to the pharmacy and they did not have the medication that I needed. If they would have answered the phone during the day, then I could have found another pharmacy that had the medication in stock. It was too late by the time that I got off work, because my dermatologist's office was already closed. The end result for me is that my treatment at my dermatologist's office, which costs several hundred dollars, will not be as effective without the medication that I am supposed to apply an hour before treatment. This totally sucks for me. It also has me thinking that at least I was lucky to not have a more serious problem. A basic function of a pharmacy should be to at least answer the phone. Probably way understaffed. The one person who was working was at least courteous when I showed up in person. I will be using a different pharmacy in the future, and I would recommend the same to others. read more

I had a racist and homophobic experience from Mike the pharmacy manager that always wears the mask right under his nose. I was there picking up my prescription and it was the third time I was showing up because they partially filled twice and they told me it wasn't ready and I expressed that I received a text about the medication being ready as I always do and he said "you're lying" are you kidding? Who are you to call me a liar? When I expressed how insulting it was for him to call me a liar he then went ahead to threaten me about not filling any future medications. I'm not sure if it's because I'm Italian and I have an accent or because he's aware that I'm married and gay. I will file an official complaint with Safeway headquarters as well. read more

Thee worst pharmacy I have ever been to seems like there handing out degrees to anyone since my two pharmacist had no idea what my medicine was and why I was taking it. Also refused my medicine when doctor approved and wouldn't let me show my chart for proof thanks Daria or how ever you spell that name. read more

I have filled my prescription at the same time each month for the last two years, however they refuse to order the medication unless they run out. It's a matter of chance whether they have the medication on the day I need it. Two years, every month and they can't anticipate my refill??!? I worked for a retail pharmacy for five years and we always had our medications ready for our regulars, so I know the process. Also the staff is extremely rude when I call, but every month there is a problem so I call to be proactive. As a fellow healthcare worker I feel the stress and burnout, but we need to treat our patients and colleagues with empathy and respect, not dismissal and neglect. read more

I am DONE with this pharmacy! Mike is a great pharmacist but the rest of the staff is rude and extremely unprofessional. I have talked to the managers but they refuse to solve the problem. The customer service aid in the pharmacy should never be allowed to work with customers. I will be moving my entire family's prescriptions to a pharmacy outside the Safeway brand. My prescription was sent over by my urgent care physician at 11 am. When I stopped by to check on the status at 11:15 I was told it would be ready at 3 pm. Tried calling 3 times between 2:30 and 4:30 to check on the status and my call was never answered. Went by after work (5 pm) to be told they don't have it in stock and it will be available the following day at 3. I received no notification that this was occurring. I asked how to transfer it to the Walgreens pharmacy in Gardnerville (I'd only had it called into Safeway since I work in the area and had I been made aware of this I could have gotten it transferred at that time). She told me Walgreens needs to call to transfer. I mentioned that when I'd called several times earlier nobody answered and I feared that would happen when Walgreens tried to call. She sighed and gave me their card with the fax number. I contacted Walgreens and they said they did have the medicine I needed in inventory and would call Safeway for the transfer. I explained they may not be able to answer and offered her the fax number. She was apologetic and explained that they need to speak to someone and can't just fax. She followed up and let me know that she'd try to call but nobody answered so she left a message. I returned to the Safeway pharmacy to let the pharmacist know that they had called but left a message since nobody answered. She aggressively told me they need to fax. I explained that in order for the transfer Walgreens needed to speak with her. I asked if she could please call them back so I knew it was in process before I drove 30 minutes to get it. She said no. She was too busy and was unable to do that. I again explained that it's medication I needed tonight and didn't want to leave until I knew the transfer had been successful. She got aggravated and again said no, she couldn't do it right away given she needed to give a Covid booster and had other people in line. While I clearly understand that she's understaffed (she explained that on my first visit) and had a 5:30 appointment but last I checked, I was a guest in line and had already been waiting. Why did I get pushed aside for her to assist those that were behind me? I again explained that it was medication I needed tonight and that I'd wait to the side until she called Walgreens back to facilitate the transfer. If looks could kill, I would not be able to write this review. I understand being short staffed but a little friendliness and hospitality go a long way, especially when you're dealing with someone's medication. There are so many ways this interaction could have been made better. I'm writing this as I stand here and wait for her to call Walgreens back. She's not had a customer in 10 minutes, yet still had not called. UPDATE: This situation was resolved but only after she told the person from Walgreens had not left a message on the "provider line" and that if she left a message on the "customer line" there were HUNDREDS of messages there and she couldn't get through them all. As I've now seen in other reviews, they do not listen to the messages left on the customer line and do not respond to them. She told me that I could call Walgreens and have them call her then since she wasn't busy. I was finally able to get them to connect (although not sure why she couldn't call as I'd offered her the number) and the transfer was initiated. Once she let me know it had been faxed over, I did apologize given I had been a little hot once she became aggressive/agitated, and thanked her for getting it taken care of. Her response? Beware! If you have ATT PHONE service it will not work in this store. Also they or the. Starbucks in the store does not have WiFi. When I was picking up a prescription I had to get some information from my wife so had to walk out of back of store to outside to get phone service. Also going to complain to ATT. Great service! I've used the Round Hill Safeway pharmacy in Zephyr Cove for over 30 years and never had a problem. The staff is friendly, caring, and goes out of their way to make sure your prescription needs are met. Samantha is especially kind and helpful when doctors offices fail to submit prescriptions. The best time to reach staff is mid-afternoon because their phones are busy in the morning with incoming/outgoing calls. They listen to all messages and WILL take care of any concerns. The pharmacy team at the Round Hill Safeway is truly fantastic. read more

Good Pharmacy! I arrived to the pharmacy shortly after they had closed and Rhoda (the pharmacist) was nice enough to reopen the store so that I could pick up my prescription. They've never been exceptionally great but they have had great people and usually I feel like they try to help. I've kept my mouth shut when the blonde pharmacist with the glasses had been rude. I have kept my mouth shut through all the disorganization and mishaps with prescriptions. The guy pharmacist is exceptional and kind but I draw the line at Last night when "vera", someone I've never see before, was rude to the guy in-front of me, rude to me and rude to the guy behind me. I took my business from cvs pharmacy for crappy costumer service and I will 100% take it away from Safeway if this happens again. I would rather drive 6 miles out of my way then be treated unkindly. This will not be tolerated. Trust me when I say you will miss me, I get a lot of prescriptions as if I'm driving else where for them then odds are I'll be getting my groceries else where too. I recommend not treating your LOYAL LOCALS like garbage. Come on management, step up your game and put a quick stop to this bs. read more

This store was remodeled some years ago with a much larger and nicer selection. Now the lines are ridiculous!!! Often only one or two cashiers with lines over 10 people deep and the wait is forever! Wish they hadn't been bought out by Albertsons. The worst! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I was out of town waiting for an emergency prescription. Dr needed to authorize. Fine no problem. Went to breakfast. Apparently Safeway pharmacy doesn't ever answer their phone or check msgs. I tried for 18 min 34 seconds to get through with no response. Drs office tried 3 times to get through. Apparently they were put on hold and left msgs. No one answered or called them back. I asked pharmacist if they could call the dr back. They said no that the dr needs to keep calling I guess? That's ridiculous. The dr is supposed to keep trying to call and it isn't within the pharmacy's ability to call them back? Unacceptable. I asked dr office to call again. Finally they got through and then they said it'd be 30 miN... for 6 pills. Absolutely unacceptable after waiting over two hours. I doubt Ill ever use Safeway Pharmacy again if I can help it. If you can use the Safeway Pharmacy on the California side please do, far, far better than Zephyr Cove Safeway Pharmacy. I am an easy going person so for me to write this says alot. This is the worst pharmacy EVER!! Repeatedly they have not filled prescriptions or randomly cancelled them. I had a prescription called in 10 days ago and they have yet to fill it saying that it's being ordered and should be here in a few days. Now they are saying it will be filled next week!! HORRIBLE!! My daughter needs her prescription!! They lie! Last time I went to pick up a prescription they said that it was never filled because they figured I wouldn't want to pay for it. It was $180. They never called to ask about it. Of course I'm going to pay for it. My kid needs it. I have never been rude or anything to them they just don't fill the prescriptions. I have been told it's ready only to find out that I need to come back the next day. This is the only NV pharmacy near Stateline so I have used them but no more. I'll just have to drive to Carson city. Horrible terrible no good!!! Do not use them!! read more
