My husband and I stopped in to purchase some items and ended up finding everything we needed, including scissors to open one of the said items lol! I would HIGHLY recommend this nice location, located in Tahoe City! They deserve more stars!! The staff member helping us was very personable and the store was well organized and stocked! This store was amazing! Very well stocked! Busy and the lady helping me I believe her name was Deb she was so helpful she knew exactly what I was looking for and where it was! She was so knowledgeable when it came to the store and products. I was having a hard time with my checkout and the manager heather was so pleasant and help me figure it out even though the were so busy and seemed to be terribly understaffed. She never once showed any indication she was frustrated god knows I was! I will definitely be stopping here every time I am in the area! read more

This store is so bad that it is actually shocking. It is literally impossible to reach a human being in the pharmacy by phone. To ask a question, you have to go in there. It is the only way. Also, many of the shelves in this store are bare most of the time, and this has been the case for at least the past three years. The staff members who work here are doing their best and generally helpful, which is appreciated. Unfortunately, it's necessary to drive to Truckee, Reno, or Carson City to get what you need at a fully functioning drugstore. To get my question answered about whether I can have my prescription refilled, I actually had to call a Walgreen's in Carson City so that I could speak to a human being. read more

This is the worst CVS on the planet. In every respect. The shelves are poorly stocked .....All a complete mess. The pharmacy is always overwhelmed and they have terrible customer service. You stand in line for 20 minutes just to pick up your prescription and they never even acknowledge that you're standing there. I have never met such smug, arrogant and rude pharmacists in my entire life. Heaven and Katherine should be taught a lesson in humility and how to treat human beings. I sat waiting for an hour in pain waiting for my prescription while there was no one else waiting, and when I asked kindly to get it sooner and kathrrine told me "I don't know why I need to explain this to you" as to why I needed to wait, with the most belittling tone I've ever experienced. I received multiple glares and smug smiles from both of them as I waited. Thankfully the manager was able to step in, and within 1 minute my prescription was ready. Do you really expect much when you walk into a CVS? They have the essentials that you'd need if you forgot something while traveling, but the caveat is that it has a huge markup. They had toothbrushes that cost $9. That being said, when ya need something, ya need it and CVS can typically provide it. It was a little bit messy and disorganized in some aisles, but they had employees working on them. Overall if you're in Tahoe city and need something that you don't know where to get, this CVS likely can help ya out for a lovely price! read more

I had an emergency prescription and the individual died because they couldn't get the prescription to me in time now I had ordered a prescription from them and it's been two weeks. I've been trying to find out if my. They were supposed to call me back in an hour after I left a message called me I finally got somebody on the phone and the gal was a little twit and I told her I said I just need to know if my and she talks so I hear her and then I kept telling her I can't hear you very really a faint voice and then she started talking very slowly like I was a very condescending. I thought I would try getting a prescription from them again because it was close to my house but never ever I ever get a prescription there again in I told I just need to it ready? Do I need to pick it up? Is it done? What's going on if I I'll go someplace else and then she said to certainly welcome to go someplace else like I don't really care if you go someplace else or not these people suck. They never change. It never gets better. They don't care go elsewhere if you wanna get your prescription in a timely manner and you wanna deal with people that are going to care about what it is that you need to get. read more

The phone system is inefficient and unhelpful and takes too long to navigate for no information. When you have to call multiple times this gets extremely frustrating and irritating. The pharmacy staff seems pretty apathetic and are not sympathetic or helpful in trying to assist you which is a huge problem when you're trying to get medication quickly. read more

Came in for a flu shot at 2pm. Told me it would be 30mins they start at 2.30. Came back at 2.30. Finally got checked in. Lots of people here waiting for flu shots but there is no sense of urgency to get through the shits, get people in and out. Pharmasist continues with regular duties while people just line up to wait indefinitely. 3pm and the first person who registered has now been waiting 10mins .... still no shot! read more

Dan Link, the pharmacist, is by far is the rudest pharmacist I've had the unfortunate pleasure of talking to. Being a healthcare professional myself, I know how hectic it can get but that DOES NOT EXCUSE poor treatment of patients and/or other healthcare professionals. Dan was not only rude but he was condescending and actually went out of his way to make it harder for me to get patient information for a mutual patient. Ethically, his actions are questionable and they also raise concerns for patient safety. If you have a choice, my recommendation is to take your prescriptions elsewhere, somewhere where the pharmacist has enough empathy left to ensure your actual well-being is looked over. And Dan, if you hate your job, please don't take that out on others. You're in a position to help others not to spread misery. read more

This place is criminal. My physician called in multiple days trying to get them to fill an RX for anaphylaxis. After coming in for the third time in one day after they acknowledged receipt of the RX the pharmacist refused to fill the RX and said he was going to send it to Truckee (a pharmacy that was already closed). Ended up in the ER that night due to anaphylactic shock and was intubated. This place needs to be shut down. read more

The main pharmacy assistant, (caucasian girl with glasses and brown hair...think her name is Ashley) needs to enroll in a customer service course. There have been multiple instances now in which I've politely pointed out an error on the pharmacy's end (with proof) to this assistant. Each time, she immediately becomes heated and hostile, refusing to look into the problem. After I insist, she eventually calls the pharmacist over, who then calmly and easily identifies the error on their end, and corrects it with no problem. I've been right each time, and yet am STILL met with the same uncomfortable behavior from this girl when asking her to look into an issue. It's bizarre and completely unnecessary. I know this pharmacy has to deal with demands from entitled tourists, but that does not excuse this kind of behavior. I've been to CVS in Truckee and Safeway pharmacy in Truckee/KB...the assistants at these locations are always helpful and professional. read more

I concur with the other one star reviews regarding the arrogant, condescending, unhappy, argumentative, unfair, prejudice, potentially violent (kicking his safe numerous times) pharmacist. I am here at my vacation home and needed to have an rx filled. Unfortuneatly, cvs is the only show in town. I have had rx s filled here before and noticed his negative behavior, but today it was directed at me, for no initial apparent reason. Unprofessional and extreme behavior. This man may be overworked, having personal problems, doesn't like out of towners, or whatever... Does it affect his critical job of dispensing meds? I hope not. We are not locals and on a trip to Tahoe ended up needing to unexpectedly get a prescription filled. Most pharmacies in the north Tahoe area get poor reviews so I was a little concerned. However, I was pleasantly surprised with excellent service from Shivani. I arrived shortly after they opened and since they weren't busy she went ahead and filled my prescription in the spot. THAT was WEIRD! Late on a weekday morning, with barely a customer in the store, the two employees in the pharmacy seemed completely overwhelmed. After saying it would take "a few minutes" to "type up" my prescription, it took them 40 more minutes of conferring back and forth and counting pills to complete my order. Occasionally, they would ask me if I needed help, as if they did not recognize me, and I would remind them that I was waiting on the prescription, which seemed to annoy and further overwhelm them. The pharmacist was rather cold, and the assistant working the till seemed utterly despondent the whole time, barely able to speak at an audible volume - not a good state to be in when having to interface with the public. I felt sorry for her . . . until: After conferring with each other, over and over, about my prescription, they managed to slip me a bottle of pills with 2/3 the quantity prescribed without saying a word to me about it. When I called to ask what happened, the pharmacist went 'round and 'round with me about a flag in their system that he didn't know how to get around in order to comply with the doctor's prescription. He could see that my previous pharmacy had filled it for the correct quantity. Why not just tell me that you've encountered a problem filling it BEFORE you sell me the wrong quantity, using up my entire insurance benefit for the month for that prescription? I wouldn't go here expecting accuracy or forthright communication from the staff. The pharmacy staff seemed to lack normal social skills and any cognizance of customer service protocol. Something strange is going on. The pharmacy staff was either completely overwhelmed when there were only three customers, including me, in the full hour that I spent there or they're just plain jaded and contemptuous of customers. read more

To expect someone that is in severe pain to have to wait for over a week to get a medication filled is sadistic! I am speechless. Came to CVS to get the Covid vaccine after calling to confirm that they had it and they took walk ins. Arrived, waited awhile, told yes the had the vaccine but they had to get it ready and it would take 30 miniatures. After waiting over an hour and inquiring why it was taking so long, I was told I was rude and that they would not give me the vaccine! Unbelievable. Will never go here again.
