This is the absolute WORST pharmacy I have ever used in my 59 yrs of dealing with pharmacies. Every single time you call you will be on hold for at least an hour. I have had to call several times today because I had to have some prescriptions sent up here and they are unfortunately the only pharmacy in the area that takes MediCal. I was on hold for at least an hour each time I called and two of those calls I was next in line and their phone system hung up on me. Nothing more maddening than that. I am surprised that ANYONE uses this horrible pharmacy. My pharmacy sent them my prescriptions and had proof they sent them and they lied and said they never got them so now I will have to wait 5 days to get my meds because they are incompetent. I can't wait to get my medication so I never have to deal with a Wallgreens pharmacy ever again. If you have another pharmacy that you can use , then use them because I guarantee you, you won't be happy with this pharmacy and their horrible service. I'm so sick of this store. It used to be half decent but has come crashing down in the last 6 months. They hired a new store manager, who fired all the decent employees who had been there for years. They've been replaced with kids who have no idea what they're doing. The store looks like a bomb went off inside - empty shelves, clutter, carts and bins of merchandise just sitting in the aisle for days at a time. The cash register at the front of the store has been broken for over a year, so you have to always check out at the photo counter. It's just a dump. There is a collection of old, junk cars in their parking lot that they let people live in, sell drugs out of, turn tricks....wtf knows what's going on. Broken windows, flat tires, random people wandering around, yelling at all hours of the night. Went in to get a flu shot and after waiting in line for over 20 minutes. Get to the front of the line, I'm told to check in by scanning a QR code. 'I don't want to scan the QR code. Can't you just check me in?' 'No, scan the QR code or no shot.' And I guess at this point I just sort of had it, and left. Sorry I'm not interested in scanning your code so that Walgreens can get all the data off my phone and sell it to 3rd parties. You just watched me stand here for 20 minutes....you seriously can't check me in on your computer? You're telling me that no old folks walk in here and don't have smart phones? Get real, and get f'd. It sucks because this place is literally right next door and convenient - I go there almost daily, but at this point I'm done with this store. read more

Called from a providers office in an attempt gather some information and even when using the automated system and selecting the prompts that I was from a providers office I still managed to wait on hold for over 20 minutes. When it would move from the "on hold" jingle to a ring, a staff person would just pick up the phone and put me back on hold. Poor service and totally unprofessional. read more

I beg you to use any other pharmacy in Carson. The lines here are outrageous. They never have anything ready. I have been trying to get insulin for my gestational diabetes for 3 days now. A preloaded pen that they literally have to grab off the shelf and they are always behind, never have it filled and now they are putting me and my baby in danger. To top it off they are always extremely rude about it. I even sat in hold for an hour and a half waiting to talk to somebody and when I finally went inside they admitted to not even touching the phones. So don't even try to call you'll waste your time. They also close the drive thru so if you're disabled or have difficulty standing in 15 person long lines good luck. read more

This is truly the worst pharmacy in Carson City. They don't have the staff to fill prescriptions in a timely manner, their overworked staff is rude, they close the pharmacy when there is no pharmacist, but don't bother to update their website. Therefore, they force a wasted trip to discover you can't pick up your medications. They close the drive up window when the wind is blowing, when they have limited staff, and force those who have trouble walking to go into the store. I have received emails telling me my prescription is ready, only to find out it is not. I don't understand how they can successfully run a business this way. Either they have no staff to fill prescriptions, or they have no pharmacist so they can't dispense medications. Those of us who rely on pain medication are affected the most. If a pharmacy opened in this city that was competent, had friendly staff, and filled prescriptions on time, they would make a killing. Unfortunately, the other options aren't any better. If you call Walgreens inquiring about your prescription, you go to the bottom of the queue. That way they deter phone calls. If you have another choice, make it. I went into the pharmacy for a prescription for myself and my husband. They only had a partial to fill so I waited until Saturday. I called ahead to make sure the prescriptions were filled, and I was told yes. When I got to the pharmacy, one of the two prescriptions was not filled and I had to wait luckily they did have the extra medication so they could fill it but I had to wait again this continues to happen and no one takes any responsibility.. they tried to blame it on the automatic, but I went in personally, so there's no excuse for the lack of customer service at Walgreens in Gardnerville read more

Went to this Walgreens in order to pick up an online photo print order and I was treated very rudely. Not only did I have to stand around for several minutes in order to be helped but when I was helped by what I can only assume was the manager based on the rude way she was speaking to the employees around her, she had a disrespectful tone and made a snide comment about my intelligence as I was walking away. Just wanted to shout out to the pharmacy here! Pharmacies in general get so much hate, but it's not like most of us know what the heck it takes to run a pharmacy. I think these folks are great, they get to know you and really help/care. Sure, I have to stand in a line most times I go there, but who cares? Once you reach the counter you get taken care of. EVERY TIME I go in this store, it doesn't matter what day or time, NO ONE is working at the register! They don't have an automatic check out, and I have to waste a ton of time! I was just in there and no one was at the front. I waited. I called "Hello?" Other customers joined me in waiting and wondering whether anyone worked there. I went down every aisle and finally found an lady named Lori stocking shelves who claimed she couldn't hear me. Impossible. Liar! She was a snot to me the entire checkout. Condescending and not at all apologetic that she was wasting my time. She actually said she would be with me in a few and kept stocking more things before coming up front! The pharmacy stinks. When asked why, the answer is always a staff shortage. If so, hire some more folks. If not, encourage current staff members to stop putting phone customers on hold for 45 minutes and leaving visiting customers to cool their heels at the store counter or drive thru for 30 minutes or more. Ridiculous. Prescriptions are rarely filled properly or on time. Prepare to dog them if you ever want to eventually get your prescriptions. read more

They are overworking the few techs they have, they aren't paying the pharmacist enough so they aren't going to this location, and daily, I mean daily they get over 200 prescriptions. There is at least one Walgreens that's closer to my home than this one is (maybe two - not sure), but we always drive to this one unless we're just getting a gallon of milk or such. The store itself is just your average Walgreens store - clean, bright, and well-stocked, just as you'd expect. It's the people who work here that make it worth going a little bit further to come here. Every single one, from the cashier up front to the woman who works in cosmetics to the pharmacy staff in back to the managers on the floor, are all great people! They're friendly and helpful, remember your name, have coupons for your favourite brands. They also know how to get things done with a minimum of hassle and stress - and they do it all with a smile. Do not use Walgreens Pharmacy in Carson..... I'm not one to write negative reviews, in fact I normally only write positive ones, however I've had too many bad experiences here. This will be a long diatribe, so bear with me or not. A few weeks back, I went to Walgreens to pick up a prescription that had been ready for several days. I had a doctor appointment in Carson, so I left 30-40 minutes early to have plenty of time. When I got to the drive thru there was one car ahead of me, which took longer than normal. I think I waited 10-15 minutes for them to finish the transaction. When it was my turn, the new girl at the window took my name, went back to fetch my medications, which she brought back with her, but then proceeded to tell me I needed to drive around and get back in line behind the 2 cars that were waiting behind me. When asked why I needed to do that, the clerk was unclear. I asked if I could just get my meds as I thought it was simply a refill, she asked me "so you don't want to get back in line". I said no, I'd rather just get my meds that she was holding. She then left and the pharmacist appeared. The pharmacist threatened to call the police and have me arrested for trespassing, because she felt that I had refused to go to the back of the line. I explained that I did not refuse anything and that I simply wanted the girl to explain to me why I had to go to the back of the line, as I had an appointment I did not want to be late for. The pharmacist explained that my doctor had changed the dose and it required a consultation with the pharmacist. She acknowledged the girl was new and may not have explained it well, however, she again threatened me 2 more times with being arrested. I advised that I had law enforcement experience, am well aware of trespassing laws, and there was no need to threaten me, as I had not refused anything. She then gave me my medications, without offering to give me a consultation on them. Fast forward to last night. After abdominal surgery, I was driven by friends to Walgreens to pick up pain meds, as the hospital does not give you meds to go home with. The surgeon called in a priority prescription before I had arrived around 6 pm. At the time, I was obviously in quite a bit of pain and really just wanted to go home to sleep. The clerk advised the prescription would not be ready for 30 minutes and I would have to wait in the parking lot and they would text me when it is ready. We waited in the parking lot for almost 30 minutes without receiving a text. My friends decided to go inside and check on the status of the meds. Once inside they noted nobody was waiting in the prescription line ( only a few cars had come through the drive through after me). They asked the clerk about the status and she went back to ask the pharmacist. The pharmacist became enraged and began to loudly berate her in front of my friends. The clerk came back and advised it would probably be another 20 minutes. My friends apologized to the clerk for getting her yelled at by the pharmacist and left the building. We waited in the parking for another 40 minutes, without receiving a text, so we left Walgreens, as I was in too much pain to wait any longer. After driving home, I was able to take old inferior pain meds that I had left over from a previous surgery, however I never received a text from the pharmacy. This morning I awoke to an email (no text) that was sent last night after they closed, advising my meds were ready. It took them 2 hours to take 12 pills out of a big bottle and place them into smaller one and put a label on it. I do not expect special treatment, but I can't help but wonder, if the pharmacist did this intentionally after my first bad experience with them, as I have a very unique and memorable last name. They did not appear to be that busy and you would think they would make every attempt to get a priority pain prescription to a patient as fast as possible after surgery, at least before they were closed. I feel like I was "punished" by the pharmacist for having the gall to inquire about the status of my medications. I will hopefully be transferring my meds to CVS in the future. read more

I have literally used Walgreens my whole life, and this is by far the worst one I have ever seen. I have never had a negative experience directly with employees per say. I will say I paid almost $70 for a prescription for my son, and when we switched pharmacies come to find out with my insurance it was only supposed to be $15 and was over charged because they didn't bill my insurance. I didn't question it as it was the first time my son was on this medicine and just assumed that was the cost, imagine my surprise when I paid a quarter of the price. While the above situation is clearly annoying what really does it for me here is their pharmacy completely shuts down from lunch from 2-2:30.....I sat in the drive through line for 30 minutes for them to come out to my car and tell me I needed to leave because they were shutting down for lunch. Steer Clear Of Their Pharmacy! It has been downhill weekly since they picked up SaveMart Pharmacy's prescriptions. Their system is crap and it lies stating "your prescription is out of stock and should be ready tomorrow". Well, after a week of that I called, was disconnected multiple times and ran into the automated loop over and over. Eventually I got a hold of a Tech who stated the warehouse is empty and has no ETA. Well, that would have been great to know a week ago..... Big box pharmacies are useless but because of regulations it is almost impossible to find and locally owned ones anymore. I have used this Walgreens many times to get prescriptions. What is convenient is that they have a drive-thru, which my previous Walgreens never had. The wait can be longer or shorter, depending on who is ahead of you, how busy they are, and how many techs are working. I usually have to wait behind a car, maybe two. The most I have had in front of me were three cars once. A few times I have gone and there have been no cars there. One thing that bothered me once was that there s a sign saying the drive-thru will be closed from 2-2:30 PM each day. Fine. But I got there at 2:25 PM and parked right in front of the window. They didn't raise the shade and open up until 2:45 though. I was about to ring the bell, as I was getting annoyed. I am sure the gentleman behind me was wondering what was going on as well. I also saw at least two cars wait and then drive off. At the same time. I have been served fast the last two times, with the tech entering my rewards number automatically and not even asking me for my address, since she knew me I guess. I have also gone in a number of times to get prescriptions. Again, the line can be long or short, but it usually is not too bad. In the fall of 2017 I went in for a flu shot, which does not require an appointment, but they made me comeback the next day, as they were busy. They said the best time is between 8 and 9 in the morning. I came then, but they were mobbed. They said usually that is a good time, but not that day. They did manage to give me the shot as I waited though. I at one point had to consider pulling my prescriptions from Walgreens itself, after that incident at the Walgreens in Peoria, AZ where a pharmacist denied a women birth control medication. The pharmacist and tech that I spoke did not seem too concerned about the incident, which irritated me, but I decided that any pharmacy in that state could have done it, so pulling my prescriptions form Walgreens would not accomplish anything. Their parking lot is clean and adequate. One time at night there was a homeless man standing outside by the door, so I was a little cautious, but nothing happened. If you approach this store going east on East William Street, you might miss this Walgreens, as it is a little set back, due the diagonal street intersection angle, and an extra right lane is suddenly added.. Also, if you are going westbound on East William Street, it may be difficult to turn left into their parking lot, as there are five lanes in all going in the opposite direction. I like the fact I can pick up my prescriptions at any Walgreens in the country as I travel a lot. This is very helpful. I also love their online account system, where I can mange all my prescriptions and choose to pick up at any location. Overall, I am happy with this Walgreens and give it four stars. read more

Walgreens has been my favorite store since Long's closed. However, have to be careful about prices we're charged. Too frequently we're charged the full price for sale items; I've learned to check every item before I leave parking lot. Last week I bought 3 cans of tuna and was charged $7.47 instead of $4.00 sales price. Cashiers receive minimal training and have no idea about what's on sale; they don't have copy of ad at register, and if the sales price has not been properly input (as is often the case), we pay full price. I'm betting the average customer pays no attention, just assumes price is right. read more

The staff is horrible. Those of us who work in healthcare are all extremely tired but we don't yell at everyone. My son's prescription was delayed again because they are inadequate at ordering their medications. So I called for an update and I spent 16 minutes on hold. When I finally was able to speak to a human, I was told there was a very long line for Covid vaccines and he had not even opened the delivery for today to see if my sons meds came in. I asked when he had time and he said he had no idea but it probably wouldn't be for a couple days. Excuse me?! Are you a pharmacy? People get your stupid vaccine from the clinics and dr offices! This review is for the Store in Carson City, NV. My review is towards a SPECIFIC employee, her name is Linda and she was working today (8/14/2022 @ 1:50 pm) I originally had come in to go to the pharmacy but they were closed so I decided to get a redbull and come back later, there was 2 people ahead of me waiting to check out at the front of the store, and I noticed the customer who was trying to ask Linda a question, and she was being ignored, I look over and Linda is on her phone, after about 30 seconds she looks over at the customer and says "I'll be with you in just a sec" she goes back to texting, she isn't even hiding her phone!! She scans the customers items and then goes back to texting on her phone, the older lady is waiting to get the final total so she can swipe her card, and again being ignored, after a few seconds, Linda comes back over and finishes the transactions the same pattern happens again with the customer in front of me, then when it's my turn I am literally beyond ANNOYED and again I put my redbull down on the counter and Linda is texting, she doesn't even look up at me, finally I get her attention and she scans my drink, then goes back to her phone, then about 20 seconds later comes over and asks "if I want a bag" and I decline, she tells me to swipe my card and then she goes BACK to her phone, I am waiting for the pin pad to tell me to swipe my card and she is just texting away, finally after being blatantly ignored I say "it's still saying processing... she looks up from her phone, and makes her way over to her computer and after a minute she says "I went ahead an reset it" and again BACK to her phone. I swipe my card and finish the transaction and she comes back over and waits for the receipt, at this point I'm livid and say "I don't need the receipt" she says "have a good day" and heads back to her phone! Mind you, there is now 3 people behind me waiting to be ignored!!! And treated like sh!t!!!!! I am very very big on customer service, I like to be treated with respect and at least some decency, because when I work retail, I try my best to have a smile and give every person my UNDIVIDED attention... to be treated so horribly and literally watch your representative texting on her phone, not even asking if I have a number for rewards or giving me any contact is absolutely horrible! We were told to get here 15 minutes before our appointment which we scheduled online, filled out all of her paperwork for a booster shot. And when we got here it was almost an hour before we made it to the front of the line they were taking walk-ins ahead of appointments. No organization. No people trying to run the computer and do the insurance for the shots, and the only person that can get the vaccines are boosters is filling in and taking people as they come and ignoring the ones that have been here for an hour and a half, with appointments! I would never come back here A simple solution would be to have a line from vaccines split into for appointments and walkins. And have another line for prescriptions read more

Why 1 Star? Well, Im unable to do 1/2 a star. Not to the Walgreens store, more the Pharmacy. I switched to them for the hopes of better Patient Care. Boyyyy was I wrong! Each month, they seem to top thier Wortlhessness and UNCARING toward Patients. Ive been scolded, talked down to,ignored and straight up LIED to (My Drs office can attest to it). Last month I had MAJOR surgery and my Dr, my Surgeon, His Assistent and I contacted the PHARMICIST notifying of all my Post Op Medication......welp... Day of Surgery, Walgreens said "We do not have the medication, SHOULD be ready by tomorrow"..(tap,tap,tap) Next Day, AFTER MAJOR SURGERY!! Called at 9am..Hear from Pharmicist" The label is being printed, give us an hour"...(tap,tap,tap)..2 HOURS later , walgreens says " Label is being typed up, head this way." I hop in my car, with a arm thats swollen, with a drainage bag and Im in pain..Im #7 car in drive thru line.....1 hr later, I finally get to window " We dont have any RX for you, are you sure you have one?" :/ .......(tap,tap,tap) I told them to recheck. .Ahhhh, they found it, drive around the building, it will be ready then....(tap,tap,tap)..By the time I drive aroumd, Im now behind 4 cars......1/2 hour more, I make it to the window.." We are going to lunch, try in an hour"..Im pissed off by then...I call 2 hrs later, only to hear they dont see my POST OP meds..I call my Dr, they are getting upset, I have to now wait for my Dr to call Pharmacy, Pharmacy wont answer the phone.....Day ends with no POST OP meds.... WE ARE NOW ON TO DAY 3 by now after a MAJOR SURGERY and no Post Op meds... I call at 10am" We SHOULD have your meds ready by noon" i get there at 12:30 " Meds arent ready, try after lunch" FINALLY, DAY 3 at 3pm, I finally get my POST OPmeds... That was LAST MONTH, THIS MONTH, I call onFRIDAY A.M to inform Walgreens of my Meds due on Sunday MAY require Prior Auth..Im told " Yep, and you are all set, meds will be ready by Sunday withno issue"(yup, you guessed it,,tap,tap,tap) 230pm on Sunday, I call, get this real Pleasant(NOT) woman who says she cant give me ANY info on the phone. I inform her of last months F's Fest and she says " You have no meds Due today".....(tap,tap,tap)...Um, yes I do, I reminded you all on Friday and was told I was all set. " You have meds but they need a Prior Auth , so amount due is OVER $100!!!! " I told her about my Fri call, which she denies.. I get my meds and am told that Icannot get a refund if I get a backdated Prior Auth, since the call I made Fri... I'm in town helping my disabled and senior mother with her prescription. We simply wanted to put her credit card on file so that home health care workers can pickup her prescriptions for her in the future. This seemingly basic task was problematic not only for the first pharmacist worker but then the manager, Kat, was unable to attach my mom's credit card to her file. I was then sent on a goose chase to download Walgreens app and do it myself or receive a text with a link to do the credit card storage to my mom's account. This process was cumbersome and non intuitive for me and I have worked in technology for 20+ years. My poor mother who is elderly and disabled doesn't stand a chance. It wasn't until the first pharmacist asked me to step aside so she could help other people did I share my candid feedback. I told her this is a basic request 101 to be able to serve customers like my mother who need their prescriptions to survive. After I shared my clear frustration I was attended to immediately and the problem resolved. I don't understand why it had to escalate. These workers are making it wayyyy too difficult for elderly to get their prescriptions. So sad. Walgreens you can do better than this. Please care and try harder.
