Remember when I said, "maybe next time"? Well, next time came. It was worse. Went in there in the evening but still during their business hours. We needed some help finding something. Not a worker was on the floor to help. Called for someone for about 15 minutes. Manager Justin comes running out all huffy. Makes a half hearted apology about "helping an associate" (I thought customers came first). When told what we wanted to look for, he sarcastically said "It was right there in front of you". Went up to pay and put my registered number in there. I was not able to get to my email with the coupon so I thought they would have that there when I put in my number. He said it wasn't and that it had to load to a card or something like that. Which is new to me because up until recently that had never been an issue. In fact associates always seemed to automatically know without being shown anything. Regardless, he had no right to be so rude. Totally unacceptable in my book. Wish I could give a zero. One star is too good! UPDATE: Although I just found in the email that I have to apply the coupon to the card, my rating still stands because the service was still poor and he was very snippy. Their drive-through service has become a nightmare. Every time I get in line it's 15 to 30 minutes. I figured maybe people had issues in front of me like it could easily happen but every time? In my case I'm pretty simple. I just need to pick up two existing prescriptions. The same prescriptions I've had for months. Prescriptions that you don't even need an identification. Ive been really happy with this CVS Pharmacy. Most everyone is really friendly and my prescriptions are on time.

I am new in Carson City and need a prescription for my ADHD, I chose this pharmacy because I always got my prescription filled in the Bay Area at CVS. I couldn't get it because the pharmacist told me I had to be a customer there for a year if I wanted my prescription filled because they had too many people and they couldn't take more. I was so disappointed because I have to wait now to get it and it's affecting me not taking it. read more

THE STORE This is a typical CVS store; No better, no worse. Maybe a shade smaller than the other locations, although you'd be hard pressed to prove it. The staff is friendly and a treat to visit when we shop here. The store itself is clean and usually has some decent sales. THE PHARMACY A few problems have arisen in the pharmacy. They've recently shortened their closing hours and I really needed that hour to get here at night. Most inconvenient because it's a bit of a challenge to drive through construction-war torn Carson City during the day. Not to mention it's out of my way by day but I pass it at night. Lately, they have a most annoying habit by where they can't find prescriptions in their computer. Three times in the last three months they tell me there's no record of my doctor requesting a script, only to send me a text in the next day or two that it's ready. When I return for my drugs they are always clueless as what happened. That's the part that angers me the most. Nobody ever has an explanation. Since this is all handled by computer you'd think it would be a little more seamless. Today Mrs. E. filled her first prescription in Nevada. During the process of creating her account it took the young lady over ten minutes to type basic information. Isn't it just a matter of changing her address from back east and updating her insurance carrier? The assistant began by asking if we lived in Maryland. What? No. Then she asked the same question repeatedly, only to ask it again 5 minutes later. No wonder the place doesn't run smoothly. I'm really a very patient man, but a mundane task like that should happen a bit quicker without re-asking for the same information over and over. It really turned my head when she was speaking to a coworker about how stupid the previous customer to us was. Working in healthcare, I know how tough it can be to have more work than people to do that work. The pharmacy at this location is chronically understaffed, and it's starting to show in the turnover and obvious overwork of the employees. They work SO hard, and can just never break even. Having said that, my last three interactions have been breathtakingly rude. When inquiring about a scrip in process, the response was, "How should I know?" After 37 minutes when I was asked to wait 3, I waited again in line and asked for an update, apologizing but stated that I had to work that night. "Oh! You have to work? Good for you." was the response. On the third interaction, I called to make sure they had received the information they needed because my scrip was now 5 days overdue, and asked if it could be filled by the end of the day because I really needed it for the weekend. The response? "Not if I have to spend all night on the phone with you." The call timer was one minute and fifteen seconds. I generally think that if a person is having a lot of bad interactions, they are likely the one causing them. In this case, with three separate people on three separate days, I think that the employees are so stressed that they don't even have the energy for basic courtesy. It's an unreasonable environment for them to work in, and it's taking a toll on them and their patients. read more

Zero stars would be better. THE WORSTTTTTTT I waited for a total of 90 minutes. It's a long ugly story but based on the other reviews I'm not alone. I cannot believe this pharmacy even stays open. A few years ago I swore I would never come here again. I picked up a prescription for my sister a couple of days ago here and I actually it wasn't a TOTAL nightmare. So I thought I would try it again. I waited in line for 35 minutes and when I got to the front the lady told me it was their lunch time and they only had 30 minutes so I should come back in a half an hour. I did. My wife picked up prescription for my daughter yesterday. The prescription was for 39 pills but there were only 30 in the box without any explanation. I have called twice and left voice messages once yesterday and once today still no return call. Twice I've been in there And heard workers swearing... I swear, too but I don't at work. It's unprofessional. Today a worker in the front store said how she "feels like shit," loud and clear across an aisle to a coworker. She then went on and on about having chills and feeling sick.... not wearing a mask. I waited on the phone for 45 minutes only to have someone answer and put me on hold! 5 minutes later you disconnected the call. I went into the store the next day stood in line with 2 people ahead and waited for for 35 minutes. There were six people parked in the drive through. You have one woman working both the window and the inside pick up desk. Earlier this evening we went to the Fairview Ln location to pickup a prescription. We got there at 6:55 but there was another customer in front of us getting his prescription. By the time the pharmacy tech finished taking care of this customer, it was already a few minutes past seven. The pharmacy tech was willing get my prescription, but the pharmacist told him not to do it because they close at 7. Not sure what the pharmacist is compensating for, but that is not a good attitude. I have been gettting my prescriptions here for the past 18 years, but the customer service at this CVS location keeps getting worse and worse. DO NOT GO HERE! The absolute worst experience ever. I cannot believe how incompetent the pharmacists are. I paid for my prescription online for efficiency, well this did the opposite. I spent 20-30 minutes in the drive thru line because the pharmacists were so confused by this, even though I showed them my receipt and the barcode for pickup. They kept asking how I was going to pay?! I literally told you I paid online and I showed you. They said they would have to contact someone to figure out whats going on. ZERO STARS Where do I begin without writing an epic novel? They frequently close the drive thru or use it for clinical purposes, effectively cutting its use off to handicap people who need to get their scripts. I got trapped in the drive thru once behind two cars in heat of 102 for two hours while they covid tested two cars. $20 in gas for the AC to keep from roasting. Constantly rude staff. Constant errors. Super slow, incompetent, rude service. BUT I GOT THE SCOOP FROM THE PHARMACIST CHRIS!!! They again cut off the drive through and I get told in one instance by Alissa that I have to come in, and if I can't I have to find someone to go in for me. Huh? The pharmacist says he'll speak to her because they can help me in the drive thru. I did as I was told and went to the closed drive thru and called once there so they could help me. Alissa answered and decided to launch a frustrated attitude interrogation as to why I had to use the drive thru. Now I'm pissed. It's non of her business. I was told I could be helped and I was doing what I was told, so I give her attitude right back and told her because I'm handicapped. Does she want my medical records and a note from my doctor? WTF? Really? She shoves my meds in the drawer, and i put my handicap placard up to the window. She then proceeds to shout about how was she supposed to know. I informed her that the only thing she needs to know is what i told her when she answered the phone, and that was i was doing as another staff member told me. HERE'S WHERE CHRIS' INFO COMES IN.......... I called the pharmacy after I get home to speak with the manager about the situation. The pharmacist, Chris, proceeds to tell me...... They are permanently short staffed. CVS and Walgreens are buying up all the smaller pharmacies and dumping the workload into their existing stores without hiring more staff. They are unable to keep up with pharmacy work because they have too much clinical work. CVS refuses to hire more staff, despite the constant employee and customer complaints. The staff is all overworked, tired, angry, and ready to quit, so thats why they are unable to treat their customers with respect. As long as CVS treats them this way, that treatment will tend to be passed off to the customers, and thats just the way it is and will continue to be. So there you have it As a nurse, I've dealt with all of the above, just throw in some code blues and people actually dying, and if you behave the way these people are behaving, you find yourself looking for another job. Scheduled a COVID test, process was simple on line, drove through the pharmacy drive through, the experience was awful and unprofessional. I had a confirmation number and the process because they could not do what was required on their end took over 35 minutes for a scheduled test. I did not not appreciate the unprofessionalism, rudeness and absolute uncaring attitude from the male pharmacist. I do hope they can fix this process for future folks who require assist, as what they say is simple is a not and it all falls on their process. read more

Until today I have had only very negative experiences with the pharmacy staff, I found them to be rude condescending and not at all helpful. I would have switched pharmacies months ago but my insurance insists I stay with CVS. Today , Kimberley changed my perception completely. She was very kind and helpful with excellent customer service. I hope her kindness and positive attitude rubs off on the rest of the staff. Easy as it gets. On my way home from Tahoe I needed a few quick items that were easier from a pharmacy than from a grocery store. Layout was clean and items were easy to find. Staff was quite friendly when they assisted me in finding one item that was hiding in and aisle I consider to be quite unrelated to my search! Parking was easy but I am downgrading the location because of the parking area. The lot itself is kind of a disaster with no clear route indicators and people driving every which way. Also, exiting back onto the main road is quite a challenge without a light as there is a constant stream of traffic. It took me almost as much time to get out of the parking lot as I spent in the store. read more

Went to this CVS twice in the past three days for prescriptions. Each time I picked up at the drive through. The first time I waited a total of 4 minutes, my prescription was ready as promised and everything was correct, The person who helped me was efficient and pleasant. The second time, today, my visit lasted less than 2 minutes. A different person waited on me and she was super fast in getting my prescription and again, everything as promised. She was very cheerful gave me the feeling she was glad to help. I liked everything being completed as promised. read more

It's a long story, as Gayle and I stopped at this CVS to pick up an "emergency" prescription. My usual 3 month mail order supply was delivered to the wrong address and both CVS Caremark and the US Postal Service went into verbal gymnastics overdrive to blame each other for the error. The tie was temporarily broken by a new script from my primary care physician, as it was clear that those 2 bureaucracies really don't care if you live or die because of missing meds. This folks behind the counter at this CVS Pharmacy couldn't have been nicer in filling the prescription and navigating the internal bureaucracy with CVS Caremark. Yes, they are part of the same company, but based on the required hoops that needed to be jumped, you would have never guessed. The bottom line is that I go my meds with a smile and a cushion for the next refill battle. read more

My experience with both CVS Pharmacies in Carson City, Nevada, have been absolutely the worst. However, I have had been a loyal customer to the CVS on Fairview Drive for years. It is always a minimum half hour wait in line to pick up my prescriptions. I received information that my prescription would be ready at 1pm. I showed up to pick up my prescription at 3pm. After waiting 45 minuets, I finally made it to the front of the line. The clerk proceeded to tell me my prescription wasn't ready and to go to the back of the line and it should be ready when I make it back up. Mind you, the line was 8 people deep, prior to that I only had 5 people in front of me and waited 45 minuets. I told them that I had already waiting 45 minuets and I would not be getting back in line. I asked the pharmacist to please fill the prescription for me as I was not able to come back that day due to time crunch and I was completely out of the prescription that is necessary for me. (we're talking one prescription 30 count) she refused me and told me to go to the end of the line. When I refused, the assistant manager was called and proceeded to scream at me to get out of line. I told her what had transpired and she told me if I didn't leave she would cancel my prescription completely. Cancel a doctor prescribed medication??? I was in complete shock. It was now about principle. I have never complained before, but this time I held my ground. I told her with all the time they had spent denying me, they could have had the prescription filled and I would have been long gone. She then proceeded to call the police. I just couldn't believe what was happening! Police showed up and I told them what had happened. They agreed that it was ridiculous how CVS staff was dealing with such a minor issue. Needless to say I received my prescription, thanked the officer and I was out of there never to return. The disrespect and horrible customers service was like being in the twilight zone!! CVS staff all need to be replaced. I have transferred all of my prescription to Costco Pharmacy. read more

Had to wait in the drive though twice because the first time the prescription wasn't ready and the second time I waited for 45 minutes in line with only two people in front of me. Also the second time I arrived to the window they told me it was delayed another hour. Ended up without my prescription and had to transfer it somewhere else. read more

Honestly the COVID testing here is a complete joke. You make an appointment, the windows are 10 minutes apart - yet each car takes 30-45 minutes to get it done. Wouldn't you think it's simple corporate efficiency to book the appointments with a time period it actually takes to perform the task? This should seriously be evaluated. And most people are doing it for travel - so you can't even just leave you have to sit and wait for the inefficient process. I waited 2 hours and there were a line of cars behind me. Embarrassing process for a large company and a process that should be pretty straightforward. I have gotten these tests done many other places with very quick and efficient process. Location for Review CVS on Fairway Blvd. Carson City After reading reviews here dating back to 2016 and current, it is sad to see that CVS Management has not addressed the consistent issues being reported. My experience today validates that I am not alone in the rude, unprofessional, and incompetent "service" provided at this pharmacy. For the few positive reviews on here, I am happy for you that you did not experience the negative encounters reported here. It appears that your positive experience is the exception to the "norm" here. For those that assume and accuse a negative experience on "grumpy ass" customers, the numbers here don't lie. All of these negative experiences cannot be wrong. As I have taught my children, "if one person complains about you, let it go. When two or more people have the same complaint about you, look in the mirror and see what needs to be adjusted". Same here with this business. All these customers cannot be wrong. Without the details of my experience today I will just highlight the behavior that has compelled me to write this review: 1. Incompetency 2. Rudeness from 1 technician in particular. Since no one was wearing a name tag, I do not know who she was. Tech #2 was a bit more polite but still very abrupt and annoyed by not only my transaction, but the 3 other customers I observed him waiting on. 3. Defensive - Annoyed right out of the gate. 4. Lazy - If Tech #1 would have listened to my question and done what I asked her to do, it would have saved me more than an hour of wasted time. 5. Uncaring - If I had not called the hospital and reported to them what was happening at the pharmacy, my husband would not have received his medications today. Pain meds needed after a surgery. The woman I tried explaining to her that a mistake was made would not listen and did not care. Then she was really pissed and rude when I returned to the pharmacy with updated info from the hospital and informed her that the RX had been called in and confirmed with the doctor. She then tells me "we are closing for lunch you will have to come back later". Tech #2 stepped in and spoke with the Pharmacist and explained the meds were post op and an error had been made (error was the pharmacy's, not the doctor) when the RX was called in at 10am The pharmacist filled the scrip as soon as he was able (a 20 minute wait). The woman not only never apologized but glared at me the entire time I was sitting in the waiting area. 6. Unprofessional - They close for lunch from 1:30-2:00pm. Tech #1 (rude woman) closed 2 of the 3 windows at the counter at 1:17pm and was literally yelling as customers approached the counter "we are closed!" I made a purchase at the front register. That Customer Representative was and is always very nice! I must stress that the negative service I have received here has only been at the pharmacy. The clerks at the front register are always great. I relayed to her what happened today and she apologized on behalf of the RX staff. I do intend to call the RX Manager, not that I have any expectations that it will change anything based on the reviews posted here. read more

What exactly is the point of making an appointment for a vax, then using high tech wizardry to check in via your phone so that "someone will be right with you" if no one comes near you until you ask and then are told the "immunizer" will be with you in 15 minutes? Darlene, with the bad attitude asked me what strength which really means little to me, so I said I don't know just the little red ones. When she said they only come 10 in a box I questions that I usually have got 96, but just asked her to sell me 4 boxes. But she said I can only buy 1 box. Bottom line, wrong sudafed, so the husband walked right back to get the right stuff. Evil Darlene got completely nasty with him, said it was my fault because I asked for 24 hour. Refused to help him and further refused to sell him the right stuff. We complained to 2 managers and will make formal complaint to main manager tomorrow. I'm always disappointed with this pharmacy. When you ask for auto refills it doesn't transpire. When I called to get a prescription refilled, They said they'd text and never did. I called the following day to find out they did not fill my script. . It seems as if people don't follow through with their job. I understand mistakes but on top of it, they act as if I'm imposing on getting my prescriptions filled there. They are not very nice. My suggestion is, if you don't like your job, get a new one.
