Quality/Quantity - My wife got what she wanted, and I was lucky and also got what I wanted. The last one in stock, but still happy and lucky. Atmosphere - Good size location. Has the following departments - Pharmacy, auto care, vision, wireless services, garden, photo center, bakery, deli, and of course grocery and liquor. Congrats on the 3 weeks new Nobleman Pizza Co.; I hope you make it here where Nathan and LC did not. Open 7 days a week from 6am to 11pm. Plenty of parking. Service - Self service, so good. Walmart is great at taking care of all of my family's needs. The pharmacy staff along with Cynthia, JennA, Anna Rose, and Tabitha are always very helpful. They are patient with me no matter how busy it is and they make sure all my questions are answered and my medical needs are taken care of. Almost always a disappointing experience. The deli lady Ashley blew me off after I said "Thank you" when she handed me my order. Consistent with the Walmart brand meaning that the further you get from Bentonville, the less quality you can expect. At this location, it started with the cart corrals being nearly full and some trash in the parking lot. Inside, some items were out of stock and the shelves clearly weren't leveled. I found the snacks I needed for the van and only had a medium wait to ring up my own purchases at a self-checkout. Like many stores, they're increasingly moving away from registers with an associate and instead these "Scan and go" stations. Restrooms were in need of attention but not terrible. Some hand towels on the floor and the bin was nearly full. Water on the counters, too. I've seen better. Customer service literally not expected by store manager at Carson Walmart! Dirty floors; minimal customer service attitude expect by customer service desk and most real check out staff. Gardnerville store has superior customer service in comparison. Example: Carson's online order filler "Ana" could not be bothered to help live customer find polenta. I asked if she could pls look up aisle. Ana says "I don't know what that is". I spell it and ask again. Ana says "I'm shopping and cannot look up". I ask if she can find someone who can as I've searched for 15 min already... Ana says "no I can't". I'm say "hmmm really? Wow." Then I found produce clerk about 20 years old who politely looked it up and shared which aisle. Gardenerville store online order fulfillment clerks have consistently helped look up item locations. I bring my glasses here 4 times a year for tightening and adjusting. They're happy to do it at no charge. Occasionally, they have a nice sale on frames or other accessories. A friend even turned me on to their eyeglass cleaning cloths. Incredibly cheap and they do a great job. PRO TIP: Keep a close eye on prices. We began noticing almost two years ago that the price on the shelf isn't always the price at the register. Conservatively speaking about twenty times, so far. As a result, we never buy more than two dozen items per visit and we photograph the price listed on the shelf. We usually have one mistake to rectify. I'm really curious how many hundreds of thousands were invested in redesigning the front end of the store. They quadrupled the number of self scan units and I don't see very many people use them. I laugh my ass off each time we come in. I bet that money could have been spent differently. In a more humane fashion? Unless the line is tremendously long, I just go through the cashier lane, anyway. This is still an essential place for last minute items, middle of the night items and of course low cost items. Hmmmm, I'm a little confused. I placed on online pick up order yet I had to go inside to get it!?!?? SMH Doesn't that defeat the purpose? Ok, I'll play.... I go in and the indoor pick up isn't working properly. They tell me that I have to go outside to get my order. I inform them that I was and they sent me inside. I'm told to wait until another associate can help me. While I wait I decide to make use of my time and go to DIY the photo print section and there is the "you've been denied" sign. Went to the self checkout center. There is one on the north side of the store and one on the south side. There are 8 self checkout stations at each one. We were at the south side checkout center. Out of the 8 stations, only two were operable. I asked the attendant there who told me that six were broken. WTF ??!! Where is the maintenance and service that is supposed to be done?! A floor supervisor named Kaelyn at the Carson Topsy lane store is the rudest person ever. She treats the other associates like they are beneath her. I actually witnessed her yelling at an older associate in front of customers. She pointed her finger and said "don't talk back to me" like she was talking to a 5yo child. Complained to the manager but I don't believe he did anything, called the 800# today and filed a complaint. I'm hoping they teach Kaelyn how to supervise or demote her! read more

For a walmart, this store is great. They have a ton of self checkouts, which I love. I also started using their grocery pickup service and have been extremely impressed. They always have same day times available and pickup is a breeze. Overall, great walmart store. read more

Customer Service at the Oil Change/Tire Center is awful. Dropped off my car for an oil change this morning at approximately 8:30am. I was told that they had a lot of appointments booked and that the soonest they could get to me would be 3:30pm. I said, ok since I was headed to the NV Day parade and didn't know how the day would go. The gal didn't ask me any questions, like "what kind of oil do you want", it felt like she was annoyed that I still wanted her to book the appointment, so she let me go. My husband asked me if I had left my key, so in case they had a cancellation, they could get to work. I said, no. So I went back inside and this time a man named Erik, was behind the counter. I asked if I could leave my key, so that they could work on the car. He also seemed annoyed, but he took the key, and asked what kind of oil I wanted. He gave me a receipt for my key and he let me go. Erik, didn't ask me to sign anything. Later while I'm at the parade, I get a voicemail from Walmart, saying that they can get to the early, but that I have to sign off on the work. Not allowed to give a verbal ok. This pissed me off. I couldn't leave the parade, I was there with my family and friends and if you leave, you'll never find parking when you return. Why hadn't I been asked to sign off when I was there leaving the car and the key??? It really felt like they didn't want my business and now it felt like they had made this difficult on purpose. I picked up my key later in the day and left. No oil change and totally bummed out. Will never take my car there again! read more

Walmart is Straight trash. They had maybe 10 self check out lanes open and had all others closed. The "managers" there are worthless. They stood around talking and bullshitting rather than helping customers. I'm not shocked it's Walmart but god damn. You have lines backing into the clothing aisle and don't open up any registers and have your "managers" act like they are helping when they are just standing around. We were in tahoe for vacation, and my boyfriend forgot his contacts. After calling around all morning to different places, someone suggested Walmart. I called and spoke with savony. She was wonderful, listened to my story and situation, put me on hold for a few minutes and actually had a trial pair of contacts! We were able to jump in the car and head that way. She had them ready for us and labeled. I am so grateful that she was able to help us and save my boyfriend from being miserable from not seeing on vacation. Thank you so much. I got racially profiled. I had bought 3 items and once I was leaving the manger followed me out. There weren't any employees checking the receipts at the exit . The manger then asked for my receipt I said sure and gave it to him. He then proceeded to examine the receipt as if it was fake or something. I drove from South Lake Tahoe (40 min drive) to have my tires rotated and oil changed. After an hour I got my car back to find out they didn't rotate my tires. When I asked if the tires had gotten rotated, he said "no" and just handed me the keys. No questions, nothing. I then inquired about having it done because I had requested it when I arrived. And the entire reason I even made the trip down to Walmart! He said it would be another 45 min, which I couldn't do because I didn't have 45min to spare. No resolutions, no- hey next time you come in we will take care of it. Nothing. Just a "welp, sorry". Unless they come up with some sort of resolution I will NEVER give my service to them again. read more

I feel abused. I am not even going to address the self check out culture as an overall concept. Today I picked up an item and during check out I brought an item that price was incorrect. When I brought it to the Representative at check out he advised me he could not help me. He was new and he advised me that I had to go to customer service. I don't know about you folks, but I feel like I'm working for the company Walmart. Lead down a path to take my time to adjust something that was their problem. Again, let me say that again the issue is that the price was wrong, which is not my fault. It would be nice to have customer service. Fix the issue right then apologize and let you leave. No can't do that. you have to go to customer service wait in the line for an adjustment of maybe two dollars . What does this mean so every time they miss Mark something you as a customer are the ones that will be inconvenienced .Yes you are victimized. You're the one that has to work for your money to get it back even though it was their fault and no one in the customer service lane can help you. They'll tell you that's their policy , what does that mean to me ? what that means to me is that you care about inconveniencing me more than helping me. This world is bad and these policies need to stop. then when I did go to the customer service department to receive a refund, I was lectured by the lady at the counter. She advised me that I could've been more kind to the representative in the self check out so not only did I have a bad customer service experience, but it was second by a representative lecturing me on my behavior. Of course I did not use foul language, but I told them my opinion about their policy. Please note they didn't care anything about my feelings. It was all about me following their rules. I remembered the days when people allow you in their store and made you feel at home. I did not need to be lectured by the customer service representative and I didn't need to go to a second line to fix a problem that Walmart made in the first place. Very disappointed. read more

Hmmm how do I rate thee 3 stars at best - well it has everything that someone could possibly need or think of in here from toiletries, toilet paper, toilet seats, toilet rugs LOL It has groceries and booze, tires and a clock that I can hit snooze. I can see an optometrist for eyeglasses or buy a pair of sunglasses, I can pick up a prescription or buy the patch to get over the nicotine addiction. If I need a pair of slippers they got them or a nightgown or robe you bet, they even have a section for your pets. How about housewares or plants or electronics or something to hang on your wall. You need a new pillow or bedding? They got that too! - OMG I am cracking myself up over here. Anyway moving on...I am losing it LOL I mainly go here for staples like bread, butter, eggs, almond milk, granola bars - what I am trying to say is - Groceries. Yep, they have competitively priced groceries, dog food & treats and some stuff that is in bulk but not obnoxious like Costco that takes months to get through and then goes bad before we get to the bottom - there is only two of us. Meat is a hit or miss sometimes we get good deals and other times take it or leave it here (and I mean it literally sometimes the meat section is just YUCK) and we prefer Smiths or Costco for buying meat and poultry the majority of the time anyway. Toiletries, dog food and treats I tend to grab at the other Walmart on the north end (Market Street) when I pick up my prescriptions since I use the Pharmacy there and it's just easier and convenient. It's definitely a pain with only a few cashier lines being open on any given day, it's Walmart and it is what it is, so we stand in the checkout line gazing at our cellphone with the rest of the folk then back out the door we go, dreading the next visit. The store for the most part is clean and stocked for what I come to get and it's rare that I go to reach for what I want and it's not there. Why the 3 stars - I agree with the other reviewer the LONG checkout lines at any given day and the Bathrooms are barbaric, disgusting and gross - why does a public bathroom have to be something that upon hitting the door or walking past it one must immediately have a tear come to their eye and you run for the hills. This is absolutely unacceptable and should never be okay for the public or employees to use. PRO TIP - if the Garden Center is open and you only have a few items or heck a cart full go there and checkout, you MAY get out of the store quicker than waiting inside those big long checkout lines. Fuck customer service at this location! I've had too many bad encounters here and just chalked it up to Covid but I've had enough. I had a return and the lady behind the counter told me "just wait. I'm on break" which, I didn't mind. I was in no rush. When she finally called me up, scanned my receipt and put the items back on my card. Held no conversation but complained about "always getting stuck with returning" to her coworker while doing my return. Also, when did they stop asking how you wanted it returned? My items were not bought with my card (my friends and I have her cash) so now the money went back to the card instead of getting cash. I'm over this place. read more

This Walmart seems much like every other Walmart I've been to except I didn't see any hot food deli, but they do have a McDonald's who's prices aren't extra jacked up like in a airport. They also have an arcade which is fun looking. I originally showed up here cause I needed snow gear that the local places didn't have because we showed up at the end of the season and on one was keeping the stuff stocked anymore. I found some pants on clearance but they weren't exactly what I was looking for but overall I walked out a satisfied customer. read more
