Avoid using this pharmacy! My urgent care is across the street so I used this pharmacy instead of my normal (well run) RA in So Pas. I walked in. The pharmacy line was 9 people deep. One clerk to check out. Some of us in line protested and the shift supervisor/acting manager helped out himself. But that solution was short lived. I was in line for over an hour, only to find that they were out of my cough medicine. Now, it was too late for the doctor to prescribe an alternative because the office was closed. When I left, the line was even longer. The pharmacy clerk was doing his best. It isn't his fault. But management needs to look at staffing. read more

I USED to get my allergy meds here but haven't in a while. There are legitimate reasons as to why that is. First, there was always a line like you wouldn't believe. I never understood why or how. I tried going early in the morning, in the afternoon, late at night, on the weekends, on weekdays. Didn't matter. It's like traffic on the 405. It could be a Wednesday morning at 4:30 and you'd STILL be in bumper to bumper traffic inexplicably. Second, excluding one person, the service was atrocious. They were rude and, when they couldn't find your order you were there to pick up (which was almost always the case even though you got the bulletin saying your meds were ready), they'd ask you to call out once more your full name, medication and what it was for. Well, ah-hem, I don't want all of Glendale to know about certain medical issues I may have. What if I have...you know...SOMETHING GROSS??!!??!! Not that I ever have had anything gross... The point is, there was no privacy. Half the time my stuff wouldn't be ready and I'd have to wait an extra 20-30 minutes, I wouldn't get an apology after and I would generally leave really irritated. Also, because people aren't raised right these days and have no ability to control themselves, fights would often break out between people in line. That happened at least four or five times. People are just angry that they're wasting that much time and boom, God forbid you bump into someone, a war breaks out. I know it's a real pisser waiting like that but still... Anyway, I'm just telling you all what tended to happen. So that's that. Poor, poor service. I drive out of my way to go to the place I use now, and it's well worth the extra gas. There's nothing like getting an email about having your medication ready, going to pick it up, having the person greet you with a smile, getting you your stuff right away, paying for it in a jiffy and leaving. read more

I'm giving this location 1 star (because negative 50 isn't available) for the horrible experience I had with their photo department. I ordered Christmas photo cards the day before Thanksgiving, and I received a confirmation email saying my pictures would be ready the next week, December 1st. "Great," I thought! "This is easier than I thought it would be!" Of course, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I showed up on December 1st (a Thursday) to pick up my photo cards, and the very unhelpful cashier looked for them, and said "They're not here." That was it. Just...they're not here. I asked "Well then WHEN will they be here?" He said, "Maybe Saturday. That's when we get our shipments in. NEXT CUSTOMER IN LINE!!!" Hold on buddy, I wasn't done! "Why would I have to wait until Saturday if I got a confirmation from you all saying my order would be ready TODAY?!" His answer: I don't know. Check back on Saturday. By this point I was already very annoyed, but I decided to give it a few days. I returned back to the store a few days later and they still could not locate my order, so I called Rite Aid customer service. The helpful representative told me that the store was under construction and they had lost my order, so another one was being processed for me right now, and that someone from the store would be giving me a call when it would be ready. First of all, the store is the same old shithole it's always been, and is DEFINITELY not under construction. This company is so full of bullshit it's really unlike anything else. Obviously, I never did receive that call from "ELSA" in the photo department, and upon my next visit to the store to see if my photos were ready, the cashier told me, after searching for 10 minutes or so, that it wasn't there. By this point I don't even know how I didn't strangle him. How f*cking hard is it to print out 100 photo cards?! He took down my name and number and promised a follow up, which of course, never came. Time for another call to customer service! This time I got a rude representative who told me to check back on Wednesday, because that's when their shipments come in. What is it, Wednesday or Saturday?! They need to get their stories straight. The last time I went in for the pictures was a Sunday. December 18th. Pass the point of receiving the cards in time to send home to my family in Hawaii who would then send them out to friends/family. I was livid. This time, the pictures were finally there. I spoke to the assistant manager to ask for a refund because the pictures took too long for me to get and are not essentially useless to use for Christmas. The stupid cashier next to me said "Well they all take 21 days!" First of all, idiot, no one was talking to you. Secondly, this whole ordeal took more than 21 days, and guess what, on no Rite Aid correspondence did it say anything about taking THAT long. I got my money back after returning with my receipt from another harried manager, who I had to explain everything again to because the first manager was smart enough to not give him a heads up before he left. I go to this RiteAid every few days, and while in most circumstances I leave satisfied, the pharmacy needs to be investigated. A few months back I came out of an intensive ER visit one night due to an infection that almost had me in toxic shock. They got me stabilized and back out in 5 hours. I was given a Levofoxacil prescription (an antibiotic) that I took to my hood's RiteAid on Glendale Ave. Levofoxacil is a commonly prescribed A/B but the when the salesclerk told me it was $385, I about croaked-- I thought it was a mis-read. I asked her for the generic version, and she said that was generic. Fearing a relapse and desperately needing to get home and rest, I paid them their almost-$400. I was also unemployed and flat busted, but that's how badly I needed the dope. I checked online after ward to see the price range for that A/B... $50 and under was the usual price for an even larger quantity. I have since gotten it for $15 elsewhere!! RiteAid needs to answer for this highway robbery. I will never use that pharmacy again. read more

ABSOLUTELY INCONSIDERATE, UNHELPFUL, DEFLECTIVE STAFF-MEMBERS WHO ARE UNINTERESTED IN HELPING. I have called the pharmacy at this location about 3 times now concerning a prescription transfer request. Each time, when someone answers and I mention that I'm trying to check the status of that transfer, the person on the phone says "one moment please." EACH time, I'm left on hold indefinitely (I waited 15 minutes the first call, then 10 minutes, and by the 3rd call with the same response I just hung up out of frustration. I literally don't know how this store is even open with that kind of inhumane disregard. I'll add that at least two other times, no one ever even picked up, and I get stuck in a loop of the phone ringing, no one answering, then getting the same automated prompts for when you first call any Rite Aid. This has been a maddening ordeal that has left me without my depression meds for about a week. PATHETIC service with no regard for human compassion, hahaha. Been getting vertigo / other withdrawal symptoms but it's cool if they aren't interested in even answering my questions over the phone. Not gonna drive all the way to Glendale when they could simply answer my question over the phone in what should only take 1-2 minutes. NOTE: the only reason I considered transferring to this location instead of a closer one is that I've come here a few times to pick up prescriptions for a boss. This review is for the pharmacy ( night shift ) I went there to drop off my prescription and the "pharmacist" Miss Felice ( African-American "woman") threw my prescription to my face when she saw a cross out on it. She basically implied that I forged the prescription! I told her to just call the doctor and clarify whatever doubts she had...She refused and asked me to leave the pharmacy!!! Then I had to remind her that we were not in a "hood", ghetto attitude doesn't fly here, I'm not paying taxes in this expensive city to be insulted by a ratchet. Curtis, the new manager came, apologized for her behavior and told me it wasn't the first time they had such issue with her. Actually Rite Aid new management is trying to get rid of her. I still have yet to find a well managed rite aide with efficient workers who know how to run a store. Just getting ice cream is like pulling teeth. If nobody is behind the ice cream counter don't expect someone who sees you to actually assist. Make sure to find someone who is willing to help. The lines are also long and there's a reason. The employees at this establishment aren't the friendliest nor do they seem like they enjoy working at this establishment. They have one cashier most times so If anyone wants ice cream, it becomes difficult. From my experience, the employee always ends up getting upset and giving attitude. The pharmacy at this Rite Aid is terrible. I burned my leg from boiling water (on a Sunday). My doctor tried calling multiple times to call in a prescription and no one answered. I kept calling on my way there and no one answered. When I got there, there were four people working at the pharmacy and they said they didn't hear the phone ring. Then they noticed there was a message. When the lady checked, she said she couldn't understand what my doctor was saying. I had to tell her what medication I needed. After 15 minutes of waiting she then told me she didn't have the medication. As I was walking away, a guy who was waiting on his prescription said to me 'They are the worst.' I suppose in comparison to CVS, they're a lot better for prescriptions. However, they need to get rid of their 15min prescription guarantee because it usually takes an average of 30 mins. It's false advertisement and honestly, I think if you can't promise something, you should under promise versus over promise. Also, the Asian man pharmacist who works the night shift needs to work on his customer service skills. I basically stood in front of the drop off window for at least 10 mins before he acknowledged me because he was wiping a few things. Seriously, you can't even say 'be with you in 10mins!'?! I don't like giving bad reviews but I just had to in this case I come in to fill my meds here and the first time I came I waited about 30 mins for my medication and I just thought they were having a bad day, this is about my 4th time I come to this pharmacy and every time I come they take about 30 mins or more to fill my medication. I understand there is rules they have to follow but 30 mins to count 30 pulls is way too much. The pharmacist also try to avoid contact with the customers it takes a while to get their attention. The store is filled with so much Christmas spirit but the attitude from the ladies at the cash register was just horrible. Not only did I greet the cashier I never received a hello back. INCOMPETENT STAFF. This review is for the pharmacy staff evening 6pm shift 11/27/2015. Perhaps one of the most unprofessional places I have been where they pay little respect to peoples time which they somehow need immediate attention in terms of medication. Not sure if they are not trained properly or they lack the basic customer service manners. Either way I refuse to give my business to them anymore. I was there to pick some pain meds for mom, and the guy did not ask for her insurance and told us the medication will be ready in 20-30min we will call you (they got my cell). 5 min later i went up to him and asked him "are you sure you got all the info? Because she never been here before. " while he was chit chatting with fellow coworkers he nods his head with " yeah dude". 45min later, we call them, after 5min on hold they say we don't have her insurance info! We paged in store and we didnt have your number. We apologize. Please give us another 30min to have it ready. We will call you (they got my cell number again). Keep in mind that it been 1 hour and mom is still in pain. 45min later no call and we are still sitting in the parking lot waiting. Now it been 1.5hr and i walk into store to pick up the pills. Guess what? The person at the counter says we tried to call you to get your insurance info but you were not available....the medication is not ready. Someone in the back blames it on being short staffed and says if you wait another 30min it will be ready. Arguing with them at this point was pointless as they were blaming eachother and i was holding the line for other customers. You already know where I'm going with this. I was so frustrated that i asked for the prescription back and taking my business somewhere else. They showed no empathy or even tried to accept responsibility. Will not return here and will not recommend this pharmacy to anyone until they employ professional pharmacists which they can understand people's situation versus finger pointing and blaming their incompetency and their unorganized way of doing business to lack of staff. read more

I absolutely love the ice cream! I usually buy the 2 for $5 ice cream. Yum..chocolate mocha crunch! I'm feeling generous so two stars for that. It is located in a very busy area of Glendale. Actually, almost all areas of Glendale is busy! I suggest passing through the back if you want to get back on the 134 or on Glendale Ave. Drive past Von's and make a right on Glenvia and then a left on Balboa. Doran is next and make a left there. The next street will be Glendale Ave. I used to go here for my prescriptions. The lines are always long and the staff is very slow. It takes them minutes to realize that you are at the drop off window waiting for their service. The pick up window has a separate area for the line. It specifically says to stay there for the customer's privacy. So, I picked up my prescription and a guy who was waiting for his prescription stood right next to me at the counter. I asked the pharmacist if she could tell the guy to stand back in line and she said, "Why? You're not getting a consultation anyways." Ok, F-tard..then change your damn sign to "Only stand here if the customer ahead of you is receiving a consultation!" read more

Rite Aid is good when you need to have a last minute gift or holiday decoration but be aware that this unit in Glendale is raft with problems: bare shelves, minimum employees to help you. The pharmacy seems to be on perpetual break as it takes hours even days to get a much needed prescription filled. On the positive side this Rite Aid has a lot of products you cannot find elsewhere: snacks, candy, over the counter meds, magazines, diuretics, make up, Barbie Dolls, laxatives, ice bags, ice cream. Rite Aid is fun because it is like a junk store full of stuff you need in a hurry: holiday wrapping papers, cards, btw: you can also buy beer, wine and liquor here. There is also a great big new Rite Aid on Pacific a few miles from this one. i wonder what that one is like. Whereas the Walgreens on Glenoaks aspires to greatness without a whit of customer service or attention to detail or more to the point...happy customers, Rite Aid does not. However, it would take more than nostalgia to redeem the horror that is the actual Glendale pharmacy.... This has been my experience: Hell. I have stood in line with clusters of people waiting, appalled, while the folks behind the counter move as slow as molasses, asking dumb-seeming questions of each other, and doing maddening things like checking the same 2 areas 50 times for someone's prescription before realizing it hasn't been processed yet. It reminds me of the former Soviet Union. It could make a wonderful living history museum, showing us what customer service and "waiting in line" meant before Glasnost. If you NEED to get your prescription filled there, here is my advice: Call ahead to make sure it has been filled. It's sort of like a best-kept-secret ice cream stand. They have all the flavors you've grown to love - rocky road anyone? - and an array of other tasty flavors - kids love the cotton candy ice cream and the rainbow sherbet. I rate the place 5 stars for their superb ice-cream that is not only tasty and creamy but also very affordable. I take a pint of my favorite choco-malt ice cream for a grand total of $1.99 and head home to enjoy it. Thrifty - RITE-AID's ice cream brings me back to my childhood when I can ride my bicycle with friends and stop over the ice cream store for a scoop of our favorite vanilla cone! They keep it real here like the good ol' days. The "ice cream man" here at this location has been serving our family ice cream for a while now and he's become a familiar face to my kids. This is the worst pharmacy and pharmacy chain in the US. No matter what I do to follow their crazy rules there's always another one they throw at me. Today the pharmacist Cynthia rejected my rx because my doctor didn't check a box that said no refills. He wrote it down in big letters though. I don't understand, I've been taking same meds for same doctor for 7 years . It has to show in their system. I looked this law up and it is a law to check that box but that law passed in 2007. So 11 years later they decided to enforce that rule. Do t come to this place for your meds go to Doran pharmacy next store where they actually care for your well being. read more

My complaint is about the female Armenian pharmacy tech (short with long curly bleach blond hair black roots coming out on top of her head) who has a terrible attitude and has no professionalism. I came in today between 6pm - 630. I have a coupon for the medication I was picking up and I showed it to her to see if it would decrease the price I need to pay for my medication. It cost $40 but who wouldn't want to save a little more? We're in the middle of a pandemic and not everyone has a job! You know what she said to me? This is by far the most organized, cleanest and friendliest Rite Aid store I've ever shopped at. Customer service has always been phenomenal every single visit I've made (5 times to be exact). And to think I come in wee hours (12am to 1:30am). The staff always greets you with a smile. They are helpful and available to customers (unless tied up with another shopper). Cleanliness and organization of the store is outstanding. Items are easy to find, isles are numbered and marked in a way that it made sense to shoppers. Pricing is pretty much the same as most pharmacy convenient store types. Availability of items - they have most things you may need from eggs to milk, to alcohol, cosmetics to medicine. Which I truly appreciate, especially when an emergency arises for certain things one may need. My experience today once again was not just great but phenomenal. The gentleman who was at working the register was not only patient (I forgot to grab one thing) but also very nice. A previous customer left a $5.00 coupon (good as $5.00 cash payment) and he gave it to me without me even asking for any coupons or specials for the day. Now he didn't really have to do that, most do not care to go above and beyond but this particular staff did, and I am truly appreciated and impressed. Late Saturday night a couple weeks back, I was diagnosed by a local late-night Clinic that I had strep throat (ugghhh..hell).. and I needed to fill an antibiotic prescription FAST! I checked yelp and found they were open 24 hours... so I went over there and went straight to the pharmacy to fill the order. The lady was very nice and helpful, she took my info, and said it would be ready in 15mins.... no problem! So I perused the aisles of the store, picking up random items that I either needed OR thought was simply cool to have.. haha.. They actually have decent prices on certain items... but of course, some are overpriced.. 10 mins later, the Pharmacy Tech called out stating my order was ready, and quickly helped me check out. She (and the on-site Doc...I assume) were great, they answered all my questions about mixing the prescription with other medicines and herbal pills.
