Faith & Hope Hospice and Palliative Care

I urge you to carefully consider this before contracting with any hospice provider. Unfortunately, our experience with Faith & Hope made an already painful situation even harder. In April 2025, my mom suffered a massive stroke. She was placed under Continuous Care (CC), which meant she required critical, around-the-clock nursing support. We were told her case would be re-evaluated after three days. However, the care was stopped in less than 24 hours and we were given only 4 hours' notice that services would be discontinued. At that point, it was clear our needs no longer aligned with Faith & Hope's philosophy of care. We scrambled to hire private help on extremely short notice. That night, my mom was in significant pain & experienced agitation. She needed her medication adjusted and an increase of the dosage frequency to help manage her symptoms. The next day, we made final attempts to Faith & Hope to reassess mom's eligibility for CC, even though the on-call night nurse, when we asked, did acknowledge that we were free to seek another hospice provider. We waited all day for a response from Faith & Hope, but heard nothing. Faced with another evening without adequate care, we transferred my mom to a different hospice. They gave us the right care without hesitation. Sadly, our mom passed away only 4 days later. The only positive experience we had with Faith & Hope was with Nurse Theresa. She cared for my mom with compassion, dedication and a true commitment to patient advocacy. Theresa's thoughtfulness and support helped guide my brothers and me through an incredibly challenging time, and for that we are deeply grateful.

I paid $1200 out of pocket, only to find out that the wheelchair was far too large for my mom's small frame. Their referral would not exchange the wheelchair for a smaller size, nor would they refund any of my money for a wheelchair my mom was unable to use. I was stuck with the entire bill of $1200 and they provided no financial assistance whatsoever I ended up donating the wheelchair to the nursing facility. The worst experience of all occurred the day my mom passed away. They delivered my mother's body to the wrong crematorium, which was located approximately 30 minutes from the correct funeral home. lNever received an apology, nor did I receive a call or a single response from them, despite my countless attempts to contact them by phone, email and text. Horrific experience!!! I wish I could give them ZERO stars

I had many questions and often called several times a week or even a day. The staff was always completely helpful and courteous, never making me feel like I was being a pain and always getting me answers right away. Beyond that, when I had concerns about her health they would send out a nurse, often within the hour, to check on her and report back to me. staff was incredible helpful and would get back to me immediately every time I called. It was such a reassurance during a very difficult time. Nurse was the nurse who would visit, often three times a week. Knowing I wanted more detailed information than most people, he would send me pictures of his reports, text me every time he visited, call when things were more complicated, and always stoped to talk when he saw me visiting, even if it wasn't his day to see her. He became a confidant and someone I felt truly comfortable asking the hard questions. He really treated my mother in law like family and always showed her respect, even when he came the day she passed to declare time of death. Without any hesitation, I would recommend a touch of angel hospice to a friend. They are professional, caring, and reliable. They saved us thousands of dollars and so much stress

Forever Grateful to Healing Care Hospice for the Care They Gave My Dad…read more I don't even know where to begin in expressing the depth of my gratitude for Healing Care Hospice and their incredible team. When my dad's health began to decline and we were told it was time for hospice, my family was heartbroken and scared. We didn't know what to expect, and we wanted to make sure he would be surrounded by love, comfort, and dignity. From the very first moment Healing Care Hospice stepped in, we felt an enormous sense of peace. The nurses who cared for my dad were absolute angels. They treated him like he was their own family -- always gentle, patient, and respectful. They explained everything to us with compassion and honesty, making sure we understood what was happening every step of the way. It never felt rushed or routine; it felt deeply personal. Even during the hardest moments, their calm presence and kindness made such a difference. The aides and caregivers were just as amazing. They made sure my dad was clean, comfortable, and pain-free. They noticed the little things -- fixing his blanket, massaging his hands, talking softly to him when he couldn't respond -- small gestures that spoke volumes about their compassion. The social worker and chaplain also brought so much comfort, not just to my dad but to our entire family. They gave us emotional support, listened when we needed to talk, and helped us process everything we were feeling. It meant the world to have people who didn't just focus on medical care but truly cared for the human and spiritual side of what we were going through. One thing that stood out was the way the team communicated. They were always available -- day or night -- and made sure we never felt alone. Whether it was a question about medication, a sudden change in my dad's condition, or just needing reassurance, someone was always there to help with warmth and patience. When my dad passed, the hospice team was with us, guiding us gently through those final moments with compassion and respect. They handled everything with such grace, giving us space to say goodbye in peace. Even after, they checked in on us to see how we were doing, which meant so much. I can honestly say Healing Care Hospice helped my dad transition with comfort and dignity, and helped our family find peace in an incredibly painful time. They weren't just caregivers -- they became part of our family during those last weeks. To everyone at Healing Care Hospice: thank you from the bottom of my heart. You made an unbearable time a little easier, and you gave my dad the care and love he deserved. We will never forget what you did for us. If anyone reading this is searching for hospice care for a loved one, I can say with complete confidence that Healing Care Hospice is the kind of team you want by your side. They bring heart, compassion, and genuine humanity to every moment.

Initially, I want to acknowledge Vitas for their support to our family. They consistently tried…read moretheir best to fulfill our requests, prioritizing my father's comfort. Theresa, their social worker, and Chaplain Mark were notably attentive as were many of their ICC nurses. However, I'd like to share some advice regarding hospice care objectives. While the aim is to ensure patient comfort through medication, it's essential to understand the potential consequences. Medications may induce increased sleep, leading to depressed lungs and a need for oxygen, potentially hastening the patient's decline. It's the family's responsibility to educate themselves on medication administration, considering interactions with pain and anxiety medications, and even lidocaine patches, which could pose risks like heart failure. Steroids may cause fluid retention, and withholding oxygen during sleep could exacerbate lung depression. Despite assurances that pain meds prevent discomfort, lung depression may lead to gasping or wheezing without oxygen, the patient may experiencing air deprivation before death, as noted by experienced ER nurses. Furthermore, prolonged sleep can reduce appetite, hastening the patient's weakness. Ultimately, it's crucial to align goals with your loved one's needs before hospice care. While healthcare professionals adhere to protocols, as advocates, it's our responsibility to conduct research and request medication administration in specific ways. Additionally, regarding catheters, vigilance is necessary to prevent twisting or tugging, which could lead to significant blood loss over time. Wishing you the best of luck in navigating this challenging journey. Another tip is to have a camera with night vision to monitor your loved one at all times.

After meeting with nurse Yvette to set up a plan for my mom while I was out of town, she called the cops in bad faith, to report neglect a few days later. Thankfully, after speaking with the officers they sided with me, affirming there was absolutely ZERO NEGLECT, due to everything being thoughtfully planned out and prepared for my mom. There are other companies that provide solid care and work well with families. This is NOT one of them.

The last thing families need during these difficult stressful times is added stress from terrible cavalier, and lacking service. They refuse to accept their horrible mistake which is the TRUTH. I did NOT have a problem with mom getting discharge I am very thankful for it as I am thankful she transitioned from hospice to home health, I did have a major problem with their disgusting discharge procedures, their refusal to take responsibility for the wrong information Maria gave me would affect my elderly mom's well being. My mother's discharge was atrocious and very poorly handled, yes she was given a 2 week supplies and equipment after discharge however this does NOT excuse them for the terrible treatment the last day. I would even consider it inhumane. 2 days before the medical equipment was supposed to be picked up a nurse named Maria informed me that NO date was actually set for moms medical equipment to be picked up. (Wrong information) 48 hrs. later and about 1 hour before mom's bed time a receptionist by the name of Samantha informs me by telephone that law enforcement would be called out if I did not surrender the hospital bed, I was shocked and panicked and in utter disbelief. Yes I elevated my voice I was outraged for the handling of their mistake and the misinformation they gave me and to be told the police would be called out if mom did not surrender the hospital bed. I had to call public health to investigate their terrible discharge practices, ** the investigator advised me on 2/16/2024 to share my experience so others would be made aware of my experience. They did NOT care when I informed them that mom would be sleeping on the floor because of their terrible mistake, the case manager named Vera korkanovic declined to speak to me to defuse this matter, or to find a resolution. The owner Tali Fayfel refused to speak to me as well. She later calls screaming at me. The receptionist screamed at me talked over me and repeatedly told me moms hospital bed was going to be picked up that evening no matter what! In panic and in the evening hours I began taking out some medical equipment outside, I had no idea how mom's health would be affected sleeping on the floor that night. ****The only nurse that stood out from everyone was a nurse named DAMARIS she was consistently caring, professional, and patient. ** I did email hospice to let them know I would be sharing this horrible experience so other families would not have to go through this. Sorry if you view this as threatening. * Social worker did not return calls/ text messages for days. * Case manager refused to take my calls a number of times when I needed guidance for discharge.
