Cream cheese won ton, beef with broccoli, chow mein and vegetable egg roll.
    Kell C.

This was an interesting experience. First, the staff is SUPER friendly! It's an average Chinese fast food place but while I was waiting and looking around, I noticed they could use some remodeling and fresh paint. I ordered a combo with chow mein only, egg roles, and beef with broccoli, then a side of cream cheese won tons. The wontons were made fresh and had good flavor but a bit too much onion. They were sweet and had crab but the onions were a bit overwhelming. But they were fresh and stuffed to the brim which I appreciate. The chow mein was the most interesting. They were literally bright orange noodles and were sweet as if they were sweet potato noodles. So weird. Not many veggies in the noodles. I had one big chunk of celery and one big onion slice. The beef with broccoli looked good but it was SOOOOOO salty and really tough to chew. Unfortunately I won't be back but I do appreciate the kindness of the staff.

There's a stereotype among chinese takeout restaurants, where 3.5 is the sweet spot you should look for to determine if a restaurant is good. If you're looking for tasty Chinese food with cheap yet huge portions, you've stumbled across the right place. Not only does the restaurant pass the 3.5 stars test, the portions they give out are generous and the food always tastes good. Upon trying their bbq pork for the first time, I was amazed at how well it was cooked and kept thinking about how much I paid. The pork had an intense yet satisfying smokey flavor and was super tender. The orange chicken (although in recent years I've gotten tired of the dish itself) was great and way better than anything I've got in the area. I also got the pineapple shrimp, which fulfilled my craving for honey walnut shrimp (which I am a huge fan of). In terms of the restaurant itself, the service is pretty good. The ladies working always stuff the take out boxes and are usually pretty friendly. Rising Savor has to be my top choice for cheap and filling food around the Riverside area. No other Chinese restaurant has portions this large, had their food this good, and has their prices this low.

Heard so many good things about this place and was excited to finally go there and try it for the first time! Everything was perfect and what you would expect from a typical Chinese take out. You know the food gonna be good when it looks slightly run down from the outside and especially if there is a line of people. The moment I walked in I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed. All the options looked so good and fresh. I got half lo mein with the mixed vegetables and orange chicken, bbq pork, and pepper chicken. The owner(s) we're also very friendly and kind, felt like I was visiting family. ! Will definitely be coming back here :)

You get a great portion enough for 2 meals for about $7-8 post tax. They have a great selection of food that take you plenty of time to go through. The workers/owners were very nice and attentive. This all sounds like a win to me :) I got the Combo B with chow fun, jalapeño chicken, and the bbq pork. The jalapeño chicken was nice and hot and spicy, the bbq pork was savory and sweet with bits of the caramelization melting in your mouth, and lastly the chow fun did it's job and swept up all the sauce in the end

Our entire family grieved the loss of one of the best dim sum and Chinese cuisine restaurants in the Riverside area. But lately, there was a lot of talk, good talk, that the same owner had reopened here, a tinier bistro setting, not as flashy interior. So here we are, finally, late to the party, but sublimely happy. First things first. An order of their siu mai. Still just as plump, with their signature, wonderful pork- shrimp filling, my taste buds let out a big sigh of relief. I've had to endure some pretty horrible ones from other restaurants lately. Big Skyy's is superb. Next, the black bean pork ribs. Wonderful, just as we remembered. A healthy portion, plenty of meat in spite of the bones. Great gravy. Finally, the eggplant with beef. This one was extra special, made with generous amounts of filet mignon, eggplant cut in spears, cooked in a salty sweet garlic sauce that is very special. It was melt-in-your-mouth, swoon worthy. One of my favorites. They still accommodate large family groups, a few big round tables for 6 or more. The staff was very friendly and took the time to answer all our questions. They feature the same marvelous menu and the same chef who creates those traditional Chinese dishes with pizzazz. It's wonderful to re-acquaint ourselves with an old "friend". It's even better to know, the important things we remembered have not changed a bit. You would be right to assume we will be back!

The restaurant itself is super spacious, and since we came at kind of an odd time after the lunch rush, it was really calm and relaxing inside. We ordered the Salt and Pepper Calamari, and it was really good. The calamari was crispy, lightly seasoned, and still tender inside, which made it super satisfying to eat. I do wish it came with a dipping sauce, but we already had sweet and sour sauce on the table and ended up using that instead, which actually paired really well with it. We also got the Chicken Pad Thai, which honestly impressed me a lot. The portion size was huge for the price, I think it was around $12-13, which felt really worth it for how much food we got. The noodles were flavorful, well cooked, and had a good balance of savory and slightly sweet flavors without feeling too heavy. The people working there were really welcoming and kind, and it felt like a family-run restaurant, which made the experience feel even more comforting and homey.

Don't expect refills or conversations about the day or the meaning of life. Bathroom: clean. Toilet and a urinal. Food: Before my main course arrived, I was served a small cup of egg drop soup and some crispy noodles with some type of sweet dipping sauce. Considering these were complimentary, I'm not going to complain. Soup was my okay. my mapo tofu came with a side of white rice. Upgrading to brown or fried rice will cost you an additional $1. This is the most bizarre mapo tofu I've ever had. Rather than the traditional ground pork and wood ear mushrooms, this came with long strips of fried pork and no mushrooms. I'm also used to thicker sauce, but this one was very watery. A tad spicy, but not over bearing. Maybe a recipe from a different Provence of china? Not what I was looking for. $15.00 later and a fortune cookie...and I was done. Not sure if I'd come here for the mapo tofu again. Others in the restaurant offered the 2-3 item combos. Typical orange chicken or Kung Pao chicken w rice or chow mein. Not my thing.

I spent around $77 including tip which was 2 drinks, an appetizer, and 3 main plates. Actually, they don't have just a side of fried rice, so we were forced to buy it as a main plate. Everything tastes good. I just finished my leftovers and I'm already craving the noodles since they were so soft. The restaurant is clean and modern with big windows and an outdoor patio. If it weren't so hot (We came on a 100F day) it looked like a nice place to eat under the umbrellas. I accidentally spilled a jar of hot sauce which for some reason had a loose removable lid and one of the waitresses was quick to clean it up for us. She was nice about it, too, like she could've easily copped an attitude with us about it, but didn't. A man next to us said he accidentally did the same thing which makes me think they need to find a different container for that sauce. There's a huge parking lot, so that wasn't a problem. However, the area directly in front of the restaurant and the other shops near it were sectioned off with yellow caution tape for some reason and my sister said it looked like a murder scene, which made me laugh. I'm fairly sure that wasn't the case, but I don't know why they did it. The only reason I knew the restaurant was open for business was because I saw people eating inside through the windows.

First, I arrived shortly after they opened on a Tuesday, which is important to highlight because they're closed on Mondays, and I suspect one dish I tried had the texture of leftovers (from the weekend). Part of me wants to try again later in the week, and day to see if this was a fluke. What I ordered was a rice bowl with braised pork belly and daily vegetables. Everything was good except the pork was dry and tough, clearly not braised that day or heated all the way through. I forget what my first choice was, but it wasn't available that day. My other item was the wonton soup, which also disappointed me for a few reasons. Portion size is good, but the broth tasted really thin, watery, and the wontons were overcooked and falling apart. The cause was they were forgotten about and the pot boiled over. Generally, you cook these below the boil to prevent the cloudy mess from disintegrating skins. The filling tasted fine, but again, overall flavors and balance was marred. I did, however, enjoy the lenon tea that comes with every combination meal. And, the employees are very nice, but the food didn't make the cut. They have a big menu and I've seen the skewers and hot pots in action so I know there's potential.
