I've been coming here for years. But since I not longer live in riverside and I was in the area I decided to come grab some food at a place I used to frequent!! Walked in and still looked the same. Definitely mom and pop shop Chinese food vibe. Has a few booths and little vending machines!!! I feel like I always see the same lady lolz. But never have I had a bad experience here :)). They also seems so nice and the food is pretty much full!! I love their chow mein. Like not to oily but a bit sweet. I've ate it cold (after have leftovers obviously) and it even taste good while being cold!! Both warm and hot it's good lolz For the proteins my to go is usually the coconut shrimp!!! This place has amazing taste i always get the broccoli beef and pay the extra for the shrimp (there's a wait rarely but it is worth the wait). prices have always been the best.... it is always packed to the brim this helped me gain a lot of muscle haha. This is a little place tucked in the Food 4 Less plaza. So there's plenty of parking but also a busy parking lot. The seating area has only a few booths, so this is definitely not a place for a large crowd. The menu is on the wall behind the counter. The staff is friendly and will answer any questions you may have. The have rice noodles which is why I chose to try this place. The food was good with big portions. And they serve Pepsi products. This was an interesting experience. First, the staff is SUPER friendly! It's an average Chinese fast food place but while I was waiting and looking around, I noticed they could use some remodeling and fresh paint. I ordered a combo with chow mein only, egg roles, and beef with broccoli, then a side of cream cheese won tons. The wontons were made fresh and had good flavor but a bit too much onion. They were sweet and had crab but the onions were a bit overwhelming. But they were fresh and stuffed to the brim which I appreciate. The chow mein was the most interesting. They were literally bright orange noodles and were sweet as if they were sweet potato noodles. So weird. Not many veggies in the noodles. I had one big chunk of celery and one big onion slice. There's a stereotype among chinese takeout restaurants, where 3.5 is the sweet spot you should look for to determine if a restaurant is good. If you're looking for tasty Chinese food with cheap yet huge portions, you've stumbled across the right place. Not only does the restaurant pass the 3.5 stars test, the portions they give out are generous and the food always tastes good. Upon trying their bbq pork for the first time, I was amazed at how well it was cooked and kept thinking about how much I paid. The pork had an intense yet satisfying smokey flavor and was super tender. The orange chicken (although in recent years I've gotten tired of the dish itself) was great and way better than anything I've got in the area. I also got the pineapple shrimp, which fulfilled my craving for honey walnut shrimp (which I am a huge fan of). In terms of the restaurant itself, the service is pretty good. The ladies working always stuff the take out boxes and are usually pretty friendly. Rising Savor has to be my top choice for cheap and filling food around the Riverside area. Well, this one's a mixed bag. I wanted cheap, quick, somewhat not terrible Chinese food and I got it! I wasn't expecting much, I kept my standards fairly low, and I met my expectations. Oddly, this is the highest rated Chinese (or at least, America's idea of it) fast-food place in my area, and we figured we'd give it a try. Full disclosure: I went ahead and read the inspection rating before I went here, which isn't unlike me, so I kinda knew what to expect. The place is dingy, old and run down, but it's pretty much exactly what I thought it looked like. There was a long line at the counter, so we settled in and waited patiently. It's important to note that I made a friend named "Frank" who happened to be a baby German cockroach crawling up the wall near the trashcan by the door. When he left, I was a little bit sad. Life's short, Frank, best live while you can! It might have been that they could have sprayed him with the unlabeled bottle of soapy cleaner sitting next to the drink fountain on the counter behind the food case (this is a no-no they've been called on before) and killed him, but they didn't. But then, I've seen worse (much worse)... Now, why did I give this place 2-stars instead of -1? First off, negative stars aren't a thing. Secondly, the sheer amount of food you're given, and the price you're charged, is insane. They have trouble closing the box. If you're a desperate, starving college student, this will be your heaven. Then, the food is pretty edible-- not dried out, disgusting, or stale, and tastes like, well, Chinese fast food, and not some distant relative of it. Though, I wasn't a huge fan of their Cream Cheese Wontons, which had filling filled with undissolved sugar and cheap imitation crab that was a bit too fishy. But I didn't die. Let's be honest: no one expects a 5-star rating on Yelp, or the city inspectors, from many Chinese fast-food places in Riverside... Don't go here with high expectations, or you'll be extremely disappointed. Believe the health ratings-- they're pretty accurate. Be prepared to wait. But if you're looking for ridiculously large portions (a Combo B would probably feed around 3-4 average eaters) for very reasonable prices, and Americanized Chinese fast-food, then you'll enjoy this place! We won't abandon it, though, we'll keep it in mind still for our desperate nights (very desperate nights)... read more

The sample of Savor Chicken was actually good, but the abysmal 0:3 combination punch ensured this is.... My first and last visit. Why? The Orange Chicken was doughy and sparse, dry and sugary without any substinance or flavor (strike one). Then, the Broccoli Beef failed twice over because the beef was thin and melted away in the mix, and the broccoli was soggy (enough for two more strikes). Finally, the BBQ Pork was fatty and while not overly salty, I couldn't eat half of it (as shown in the second pic). Four strikes? Pretty much. This place has got so much bang for the buck I'm actually questioning how they make any money. For $8ish, I got a heaping box of food (around 2/3 meals). You can get the 3 item combo which comes with steamed rice, chow mein or fried rice for only approx. $7.50. And trust me - it's a meal enough for 2 or even 3 people; which means leftovers galore! The food is on the greasy side though - be warned, it's even greasier than Panda Express. The savory chicken is the best item here. Flavorful, and much better than its alternative, the orange chicken (never was a fan of orange chicken). Beef and broccoli is okay, but broccoli was a bit too soggy. Jalapeno chicken is a no, too much pepper in the dish. The chow mein left something to be desired - stick to the steamed white rice. Overall, Rising Savor is a solid spot for fast Chinese food.
