The experience was lovely. It's a super cute cafe. The ladies running it were very nice. The food quality was very high. Bacon and egg croffle was tasty. Tried the Mac nut latte, which was good. I prefer a little more espresso but I drank the whole latte. I was stuffed. Will go back again.
Got a high blood sugar? Eat at Rise Cafe! On a low-carb diet? Eat at Rise Cafe! Just want to eat healthier? Eat at Rise Cafe! Rise Cafe located in the Kaimukī, along 11th Ave., right next to Carte Blanche and Subway. There's a couple of dedicated parking spots out front, or in the paid parking lot. This place serves up breakfast items and coffee/tea drinks and follows a Ketogenic diet with its ingredients. Inside is small and cozy with two levels of sitting areas. You just order at the front and they'll bring everything to your table. The Bulletproof Coffee was okay. I would have preferred the butter to be blended in with the coffee and cream instead of on the top. The Americano was good. Solid flavor. Steak and Eggs. Simple. The chimichurri sauce was delicious! Tasty and bright. The steak was a bit overcooked to my medium requested with about half tender, half toothsome. The steak might've sat under cool air because it was not warm when it arrived, and the pieces were mostly room temperature with some chilled cold. Not sure if that is the intention. The eggs, also requested medium, were over easy. The Chicken and Chaffles were very good, especially the chicken! Give me a basket of that! The chicken was so moist, juicy, tender, and flavorful. Nicely battered and fried. The chaffles were more like regular (healthy) waffles than cheesy or eggy. Overall, an all right experience. Enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. Comfortable and cozy. Food and drinks were fine. Maybe some adjustments for my preference. Chicken was amazing though! Service was okay. Can't say it was the most friendly or upbeat. Some coffee spillage on floor and table when arrived, but only wiped the floor.. Not a big deal since we have napkins. Maybe I'll come back to try other things. Rise Cafe is truly a health conscious place with better attention to details that's not just fruits and vegetables.
I was excited to see a new cafe open up in the neighborhood. It looks very appealing from the outside and seeing the phrase, "food = medicine" in the front window made me even more curious. I was thinking just how good healthy, nutritious food could be. Well, it was excellent! I started off with a hot mocha, which had a light, sweet flavor with a hint of mocha; very nice. It was not as sweet and syrupy as other cafes. Then I had the loco moco, good choice. The wagyu patty was very tasty topped off with an egg and keto gravy. All blended together nicely and very flavorful. Unlike most times I have a loco moco, this one leaves you feeling good and not stuffed. Seeing the healthy make up of this loco moco, I was extremely surprised and happy with how good it was! My son had the chicken and chaffles, which I had to try after tasting my loco moco. It was also very good and something I would have the next time. Overall, a superb breakfast and lunch spot that I would highly recommend. The service was great, the atmosphere very nice and comfortable. Best tasting "medicine" I've ever had!
Work lunch Wednesday was ordered from Rise Cafe. I got the kamalu bowl which was interesting. The cauliflower rice had great flavor and I surprised myself by eating it all. The pickled onions brightened up the dish. My least favorite was the bacon because it wasn't crunchy and tough to chew. Give me a vegetarian option and I'd gladly order it. We didn't have to park but there is the kanji municipal lot on the backside that accepts credit cards. There is also metered stalls along waialae ave. The shop is small but I guess there are stairs to an upstairs with more seating but we didn't go up there. Interior is cute and comfy.
My boyfriend wanted to try this place since we were in the area. To be completely honest I was not a huge fan. However, I love the premise of Rise Cafe. The only thing that wowed us was the americano! That was honestly delicious, but the food killed it for us. We thought the portion was small for the crustless quiche (considering price) and the chicken and waffles tasted mediocre. The pancakes tasted a little too doughy and dry, but the chicken was good. It tastes kind of similar to Karage. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back. But if you do happen to go I would recommended their drinks!
Quaint little cafe located in Kaimuki. How fitting is it that this health-conscious cafe is right by the park with tennis and basketball ball courts!? They look small from the street level, but they've got a good amount of upstairs seating (albeit cozy) and private restrooms. Their menu, while not extensive, has some nice options. I got the salad flight and a side of bread, while my friend got the back and eggs and a side of waffle. For drinks, I got the hojicha (?) latte and she got a latte. The service was friendly and I think the owner was present. She was quite nice. Offered some health advice, but not pushy at all about it. It is on the pricier side, and it can get loud when busy, but it's healthy keto food. Hoping to see more items in the future!
Friendly service and love the idea it low carb. The owner is a metabolic practitioner and has her office upstairs. She created the restaurant because many of her patients didn't have dining options. People with diabetes, prenatal and post natal care, hormonal and metabolic issues. If a practitioner is willing to open up a restaurant for their patients, you know you'd want them as part of your wellness program. I had the crustless quiche which was delicious and the matcha drink which the name has slipped my mind. I love their display of the amount of sugar is converted in some of the meals we eat. I love the concept and I hope more people stop by to support this restaurant.
A cute little spot in Kaimuki! I decided to meet a friend for brunch and was pleasantly surprised. I don't eat keto as often as before but it was a nice change of pace from my usual fare. The seating is a little limited but small spaces like these give me such a homey vibe! They were a little slammed with orders but overall I feel like the wait for food and drinks were very minimal. I ordered a hojicha latte and a brisket bowl with extra barbecue sauce. The hojicha latte was pretty comparable to other cafes but the brisket bowl was the star of the show! It was crazy how tender and flavorful it was, I could barely pick it up with my fork! The barbecue sauce is a little tangier than what you'd expect but I think it's a nice complement to the fattiness of the brisket. The cauliflower rice was perfectly seasoned and had little bits of bacon in it also! Super tasty! I also saw they had chicken and waffles and would love to try it the next time I'm on the island! I will definitely be back!
Newest cafe on the block! I'm all about health and as someone who dances and works out a lot, I see myself coming here a lot! Still need to try the food, but I really enjoyed one of their signature drinks - Roasted Mac Nut Latte. It had bits of Mac nut in it, and it definitely kept me awake in the morning. Interior was very clean and inviting. They offer free WiFi, and even upstairs seating, but I prefer the ground floor seating :). Overall a very inviting ambiance. Will definitely bring my friends here to catch up and hang out! Great addition to the neighborhood :) Will be back!
Breakfast in Kaimuki, Honolulu, Hawaii... My friend, Irene, was so excited when she told me about Rise Cafe. She went on Sunday and warned me that it's closed on Tuesdays. I asked her: "Are you telling me to go tomorrow because it's Monday?" She shrugged and said (with a grin), "You're going to like it!" Big hint!!! Of course, I trust Irene. She knows me and understands that I'm trying to avoid eating sugar... because I don't want to take diabetic medication. Rise Cafe is owned by Dr. Jodi, who specializes in Metabolic Health. She's very knowledgeable about nutrition and has an amazing display that shows the amount of sugar in certain foods. Dr. Jodi was very personable and chatted with customers before she went upstairs to meet with patients. Hannah was the cheerful, efficient cashier and server. She was friendly and was able to answer all questions competently! I decided to order the Coconut Wireless (iced espresso with coconut milk and coconut flakes), Tiny Toast (homemade sourdough, toasted with butter), and Salad Flight (curried chicken salad, pink pickled onions, high protein egg salad, and cucumber poke). Everything was beautiful, healthy, and tasty! The environment is calm, cute, and welcoming! There's more seating upstairs if there's no space at the counters or tables downstairs. Most customers parked in the municipal parking lot and entered through the back. I parked on 11th Avenue, next to Subway and was lucky that it wasn't a busy time. Heh heh! I'll be back!
Rise up and go to Kaimuki... Love this cute little cafe with only two and a half weeks into their opening that brings more than comfort to your vibe with fresh and yummy brunch items right on 11th Ave with healthier option and wished I had this when I was on a Keto type of diet there wasn't anything like this that's so yummy and delicious. You can find them right on 11th Ave and municipal parking in the back if the metered ones are illusive though remember Sundays are free ;) though there are parking in the front but just a couple of stalls it's worth the effort to bring a healthy start to your day. I already knew it was the Iced Coconut Matcha for me a light and creamy option that wasn't too strong with the Matcha but is very light and refreshing which then the Steak and Eggs was the one as they top it with as the steak is cooked in butter sliced at topped with chimichurri sauce which is so amazing!!! The whole vibe of this place is very calming a welcoming as I love this seating right along the window it was the perfect place to get some work done as well. The staff very friendly as the gentleman was starting his very first day here is sweet, I can certainly see myself here on a regular basis with my drink as they have Hojicha too omg! Healthy eating doesn't have to be bland as here in Rise Cafe it's filled with everything but sugar. Thank you!

Recommended by friends so I wanted to check it out for myself. This cafe had a great, inviting atmosphere. Busy during brunch but I managed to to find seating in the main area. There is additional seating upstairs. The coffee & tea menu was extensive with a few seasonal specials. Yes, they had pumpkin spice for the PSL lovers. They promote a low-carb and gluten-free practice in their dishes and drinks. A plus for anyone who may be health conscious or looking for keto-friendly options. Ordered at cashier; i was recommended the Roasted Mac Nut Latte. My beverage was ready in minutes and my meal available for pickup at counterside moments later, ~10minutes. I ordered the Chicken & Chaffles and it complemented well with my latte. I was shocked how great everything tasted. Chicken was juicy and my waffles were not overly sweet. Some establishments would trade the taste of their food and try to be "healthier". That was not the case here. Enjoyed everything; my stomach was satisfied and I felt light and energized for my run later in the afternoon. I would love to come back to try their other entrées and beverages. Took my coworker to get lunch and she's on keto and mentioned this would be the perfect place. Nuzzled in Kaimuki, it was aesthetically pleasing inside with indoor & some outdoor seating. It was a little dark inside for cafe but cute. I got the crust less quiche which was super good, fresh ingredients and flavorful. My coworker got the brisket cauliflower fried rice which was also really yummy, well flavored and a good portion. I got the roasted Mac nut latte which was AMAZING, with coconut flakes & roasted Mac nuts.. different but so delicious. I can't remember which coffee my coworker got but she liked hers too. People are sitting on top of each other in Kaimuki coffee shops with 20 mbps access. Meanwhile, Rise Cafe is 40 x faster, quiet, clean, air conditioned, plugs every three feet, and next to an immense parking lot (as opposed to trying to find parking on Waialae Ave). Finally got to try this hot new cafe in Kaimuki! Good location and you can enter from the public lot in the back as well! Cute interior and complimentary wifi was a plus! Started off with their popular roasted mac nut latte with coconut milk and enjoyed it! As for the food, we got the chimichurri steak and eggs, chicken and chaffles and crustless quiche. So much flavor and Dr Jodi's chimichurri sauce alone I would come back for! Chicken came out crispy and paired well with the keto friendly "waffles". Went out and about on an early morning and we decided to try this place out. Highly recommended! The food was delicious, hearty and healthy! The layout and cleanliness of the this cafe was great. I loved the fact that it was a little busy, but they had an upstairs area to enjoy your food, as well, where barely anyone was. You do have to go up a flight of stairs, but just let them know and they will bring your food to you! How awesome is that?! Now, back to the food. Wife had the brisket and bacon infused fried rice...which I tried and was delish. I'm a steak and eggs guy and that's what I got and they cooked the steak to perfection. Oh yea...coffee! I had the iced Mac nut latte and the wife had the hot Mac nut latte. Can't go wrong. I have a sweet tooth, so a little more sweetness wouldn't hurt, but I still enjoyed it. I finally was able to make it into Rise Cafe! The first thing I noticed was the ambience. So soothing and felt a comforting vibe. It was great seeing Dr. Jodi and both she and her staff were very welcoming. I ordered their chicken and chaffed. The chicken was perfectly fried and seasoned. Considering there are at least a dozen coffee shops in the Waialae area, Rise Cafe definitely stands out from the rest. First of all, this is the only coffee shop that offers actual food. I get it, the concept is geared towards Keto and clean eating, but the food actually tastes so good. The fried chicken is on point, and the owner said they use only olive oil. The Kamalu Bowl is another must-try with the cauliflower risotto. Oh but the coffee..ON POINT! What really sold me, is how you feel so relaxed by the vibe and ambiance of the Cafe itself. I work remotely and am always trying to find new coffee shops with the best coffee and vibe. I tried rise cafe for the first time today, and safe to say this is my new favorite spot. I had no idea what I was getting into when I first showed up. I'm your usual plant-based milk drinker, so it was to my surprise that they don't offer that here! The barista explained to me their reasonings for not offering plant based milks and it seemed legit to me. I was weary at first because I realized I had come to a health conscious coffee shop! Even with the whole milk and natural sweetener that I am not used to with my coffees, it was actually one of the best coffees I've had in a while. That says a lot considering I drink coffee every day. I was listening to some of Dr. Jodi's conversations with other customers regarding the science behind her drinks and cafe, and I was pleased to see that she actually cares about her customers health and overall experience at Rise Cafe. This cafe has a great energy, good lighting (which is very important in my opinion), amazing coffee, and ample seating. read more

I stopped by early in the morning. As soon as I walked in, the food smelled amazing and was greeted by the owner Dr. Jodi. I got the macadamia nut latte which had lots of actual bits of macadamia nut is the drink. We were greeted by other staff (who are Dr. Jodi's family). Everyone is super friendly. Later, I went back to get the Chicken and Chaffles for lunch. It was hot and very tasty (better than most Mochiko chicken I've had) and the "chaffles" which are low carb were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, very similar to Belgian waffles. 2/21: The place was cute and seemed like a fun spot to try something new. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back due to the lack of service. When we walked in, there were only two baristas working the coffee bar, which seemed manageable. We placed our orders without any issues. My coffee came out first, then my friend's food but we ended up waiting 30 minutes for my food and even longer for her coffee. The two baristas (one tall with pink hair and one shorter with dark hair) were talking while there were no customers in line. When my friend politely got up to ask about her coffee, they saw her but ignored her. She waited over 5 minutes before she could even say, "I ordered my coffee a while ago." The barista finally got her attention and took the order. We then waited another 15 minutes for that single coffee. When the coffee was ready, one barista told the other, "Just tell her when you give it to her." When it was delivered, nothing was said. No explanation or apology for the delay. To top it off, my steak was overcooked, cold, and tough. I preferred medium. We were disappointed with the overall experience. It had potential, but the lack of attentiveness and accountability made it frustrating enough that we won't be returning. read more

Stumbled on this place while running errands in Kaimuki. My go-to in the area is Koko Head Cafe but I parked in a different part of the public lot and saw the sign, decided to try a new place. I didn't realize it was a keto restaurant, the Kamalu bowl was so good I didn't even miss the carbs (the starch was cauliflower rice done in a risotto style). Welcome to my car picnic after my 72hour fast! Where else can you get delicious, keto friendly, low glycemic breakfast and lunch planned by a real clean Keto Doctor? The latte tasted luxurious with bits of real macadamia. The chicken was crispy and flavorful with the lite and crisp waffles. Who doesn't love a crispy waffle. The.kamalu bowl.is.everything!! Are the waffles gluten-free at rise Café?

Yes, there's a nice spot upstairs that's got nice ambience to study. But know it is a place people can dine in; so there may be guests there talking and stuff. But otherwise, I think it's a great place to study.
